Cold, mechanical, and depressing atmosphere. Rude staff that wouldn’t even give me a fork to eat their overpriced and tasteless food with. Definitely the worst cafe I've been to.

Lovely university library. We popped in before going to fringe show. Lovely cafe, quiet and peaceful place to sit for a while. We didn't have any food.

The male server (did not want to use the unrepectful word but after being treated unrespectful and unfair, so should change my mind) at the night just laughed, talked, communicated to other staff all the night, not sure what’s so funny or he himself is funny enough to laugh at. Focus/Do your business please, instead of having any biases or stereotypes on others, just ridiculous and showing your uneducated side. Thanks.

Lackluster food at less than reasonable prices, worth it if you get a deal. But even then, you could just go somewhere else. Seems to have a ~£2 tax added onto everything just for UoE branding.

Revolting. Feel bad for the students that come to a good uni and receive grim looking facilities and even worse food. Sat down for tea and a bite whilst waiting for my friend and never regretted spending my money so much. The salmon and wild rice salad was tasteless and grim in its appearance, the seats around the cafe are just dirty, wash your chairs, mop your floor and at least the interior will be more pleasant

Good coffee, lively but not bad for doing some work or study in.

Good place but if one student occupies the whole set of sofas then it is difficult to find a place to sit in.

Soup was really hot, It burned me. 😂 best thing to order they are always well made and come with some bread. Most of the menu is prepackaged, small amount of Vegan options, and offers a variety of coffee options with sweeteners. Offers canned drinks but there is a vending machine to the left.

Went to pizzahut around 1345 on Friday, only around 30 to 40 percent of the tables were occupied but been told they are fully booked. Don't think it's a big party booking as people's seating scattered the restaurant evenly. The restaurant either don't want us to eat there at all or the management was so inefficient. One of the kids really wanted pizzahut so we ordered takeaway. No one with booking walked in during our 20min wait. We just have to wait at the entrance looking at all these empty tables. I have never been told a restaurant is fully booked when there were so many empty tables. At the end the pizza wasn't even as good as the free one from Tenpin...

Our first stop in Edinburgh was the elephant cafe . Upon arrival at the cafe we were totally surprised that it is opened and that there was no queue . Waited excitedly to be seated and a young lady ushered us to a lovely window seats overlooking the street. Just as we were getting ourselves comfortable, another lady by the name Samiha came by and questioned “who gave you the table “ Honestly we were quite taken aback. Being a well travelled person of my age this was totally not acceptable and plain rude. The second episode was when I went to the cashier to ask if I should order at the counter , the same staff exaggeratedly commented in Spanish (I think) that I was impatient. The episode didn’t end here. Later the same lady, Samiha, found out that I was trying to get her name. She came back and challenged me lecturing me throughout that cafe is very “crowded” ; customers need to wait to be seated. The whole issue is we were ushered to the seats by the window! We did not just barged in! Honestly this kind of behaviour is totally not acceptable . To my worst horror i later found out she is the supervisor of the cafe ! A junior staff who had witnessed all this and was so sweet that she apologised profusely on behalf of the rude supervisor for my bad experience! Fine cafe but be warned of ill mannered supervisor !

Absolutely shocked and dismayed that a massive hotel group can justify well over £130 a night for a room that has a TV the size of a postage stamp, does not have a lift in working order, even though there are 5 floors. We were beleived that all rooms had been updated, modernised, and a hotel you could rely to bring comforts. Absolutely shocking. Travelodge are..... Good at ripping people off. Would have been cheaper staying outwith the city and paying for a bus, tram or Taxi. We will do next time.

Good pastry We had the scones and they were delicious On the other hand, the service leaves something to be desired. In fact when you come home it’s hello, what do you want? You don't have time to think, it has to go quickly, the staff is rushing you. I advise you to eat there so you can sit down and have more time to read the menu than to take away.
