Slow Rise in Lincoln

The pizza was really nice. Was sat on a bar side so was awkwardly sitting facing the same way as the rest of our group. You could see the staff make the pizzas in front of you but felt too close to enjoy talking with family or friends privately. It's a small/cosy restaurant.

The ingredients and the taste of the pizza were delicious, unfortunately the pizza dough was very chewy and burnt. The reason of burnt pizza is that the trays were not cleaned properly .This was my second time I ordered pizza from this place and the same problem occurs every time so again I felt disappointed. It's a beautiful and atmospheric place, but I won't order pizza from there again.

Really good pizzas - we had the garlic mushroom and four cheese. Both were really well done, with a properly good base and well chosen toppings. We thought the four cheese was particularly good, with the stronger cheeses balanced against the mild. Price is good as well. Their Android app is about as easy as it gets for ordering. Collection is from a window and they give you a buzzer so you can wait in a car. We got one starter that we thought was OK, but not brilliant. Still tasty, just not as good as the pizza. Not enough to complain about, never mind asking for a refund. Next morning, we had a text from Slow Rise, and they had proactively refunded the starter because they felt it wasn't up to scratch. Top!

Ordered take out from Slow Rise for the first time tonight. We opted for the Smokey and the Stilton & Mushroom and both were absolutely delicious. As people who usually go for meaty pizzas we weren’t sure what to expect, but were so pleasantly surprised by how flavourful our choices were. We also had the truffle arancini (should’ve ordered 2!) and the cheesy garlic strips, along with a raspberry tiramisu for after. The tiramisu (I chose the no coffee option) was light and delicious, and the perfect sweet treat to finish off our meal. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit the restaurant soon!

Pizzas are always incredibly tasty, their ever-changing tiramisù creations are so unique and delicious, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Can't fault anything at Slow Rise, be it for takeaway or eat-in!

The staff were perfect, I couldn't decide on which flavour toppings to have and the staff were so helpful with this. It was our first time eating in as we usually order and pick up, even though it's small the space is utilised really beautifully and the atmosphere is great. The menu is really well thought out so don't be putting off if you aren't vegan/vegetarian. It's one of the best places to eat in Lincoln, so much so, that I chose it as my 'last meal' before jaw surgery lol

Pleasently surprised this place was one of very few open late on a Sunday night. Our friends are vegan and they had lots of great options for Vegans and vegetarians. The drinks were nice too. It's a small place so I recommend ringing ahead.

Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. The pizzas are delicious and the friendliness of the staff is exceptional. We arrived late for our table and they had already started closing up but upon seeing us they insisted on opening back up and cooking pizzas for us. At no time did they make us feel rushed or unwelcome. Pay them a visit you won’t be disappointed.

Incredible food and service - as a Londoner of 7 years, I can honestly say it beats any pizzeria down there!! The Stilton and Chestnut Mushroom was divine. They also let you do half and half - what a dream. Standout dish was the no-coffee tiramisu- I hate coffee so this was so great to try. Delicious all round.

The pizza is excellent. Today I give 1 star star to the service as I went at 8:36 pm and the waitress said "we don't accept bookings at this time in the week, at weekend yes. Only take away". This is simply not true, as the 17 October 2023 (a Tuesday) I booked a table at 845pm, eating in, with no problem at all. It would have been much better to say, "sorry man, the place is empty, we are closing, I hope you understand" rather than make up things to a (regular) customer, happy to come back :)

Really superb Neapolitan style pizza. I’ve been to Naples and this is the real deal. Slow Rise is consistently superb, the dough is spot on, along with the toppings. Pizzas are nice and big. The restaurant is great, lovely buzzing atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and there to help. Go here!

The mushroom pizza was delicious, with the confit garlic a revelation (could happily sit with jar and spoon and eat that on its own). The tiramisu was good, but there are others more to my taste just round the corner and down the hill a little.

This is a pizza place with a complete veggie friendly menu (which i obviously loved). The service was great and the staff were very friendly. The shop itself is very small and only has a few tables so make sure to book in advance!

So good! The best pizza I've had in years. Generously sized and satisfying, and for a very fair price, especially given the quality. Who knew that lemon zest would be the clincher in giving a pizza the extra 'wow factor'? Slow Rise did. Delicious!

Probably the best pizza I've had outside of Italy. Lovely cocktails, nice craft beer, great starters and tiramisu. Will revisit again and again :)

I enjoyed it. 'Authentic' may be cliché when describing freshly baked pizza, but Slow Rise is the perfect use case. Sat in, you can watch pizza be prepared by hand, read a plaque of the establishments founding, notice the founders photograph, then realise they're there, in the kitchen, doing their part. Slow Rise pulls off the warm feeling of a family-ran little restaurant. My only comment is for the optional Burrata topping: maybe it's not my thing, but I felt it wasn't worth the £3.50 to add, and that the amount you get is excessive. I'd be happier paying £2.00 for less - appreciate that's not necessarily possible, though. The tiramisu is fantastic.

Fantastic little place, definitely worth visiting even if you aren't vegetarian/vegan! The food is absolutely incredible, high quality and cooked to perfection and served super timely with a smile, we felt very welcome as soon as we entered. I would advise booking as it is a small space with limited tables, but the atmosphere and feel of the place is lovely. We were seated just next to where the pizzas were being created and actually really enjoyed watching the process whilst we ate. Will definitely be visiting again soon!

What a lovely place. The food was plentiful and the dough so light it was easy to finish the pizza. The service is very customer focused. They even provide picnic rugs for those having a takeaway so they can have a picnic on the grass opposite! Top marks go to the vegan raspberry tiramisu. Will definitely return when next in the area

The truffle mushroom pizza is pure delight. My carnivorous brother who declined getting a pizza due to the lack of meat has now changed his mind. That says it all really! Just delicious, quality ingredients and thoughtfully made. The raspberry tiramisu is the best I've ever tasted. Utterly perfect balance of flavours, someone really knows what they are doing here!

Best pizzeria in Lincoln. Its a great sign when you leave a restaurant still excited about the food you've just eaten. The pizzas are truly phenomenal and easily comparable to what you would get if you visit italy! Great service too, and the prices are similar to any fast food pizza chain. This place is a little hidden gem and I'm so glad I found it. Guaranteed I will be back for more!

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here yesterday evening. The team is extremely friendly and there was a wide variety of pizzas and drinks on the menu. Love the vegetarian concept, and I have to save, the pizzas were simply amazing. The tiramisu is a nice little treat to wrap up your meal with. I would suggest that you try to make a reservation in advance if you plan to dine in.

Best gluten free pizza I have ever had!

Enjoyed three delicious pizzas here! They have a wide variety of veggie options and very friendly staff. There was no space inside so we were given a picnic blanket to sit on the green nearby and it was perfect in the sun! book ahead if you’re going on a weekend

This was our first visit to “Slow Rise” and it certainly won’t be our last. All four of us had half and half pizzas, where you choose two different pizza types, and we had the best of the treats available. I had the Hot and Spicy with a Stilton and Mushroom and it was fantastic. The proximity to the Kitchen means you can watch the chef create the pizzas of your choosing. Great to see. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Lincoln and wanting a treat of a pizza It was the best pizza we have ever had for sure.

Busy and tiny space, but great service and excellent food

You just cannot beat this place for service, taste, quality & friendliness. Always looking for new ideas they do regular 'guest' pizza & tiramisu. Last week I had the special hot one & it did not disappoint, my word it had a kick but the taste was amazing. I think I have tried every pizza on the menu by now & I don't have one complaint. It really is the best pizza place I have ever visited as far as I'm concerned...& I've been to a few :)

Slowrise does the best pizzas you would ever have. I have eaten pizzas from loads of places around the world, but these are absolute top tier pizzas and are definitely my number one. My partner and I get takeout from here way too often, almost on a weekly basis but we never feel bad about it! You get your money’s worth; they’re delicious, generously portioned, and so light that you can easily eat a whole pizza without feeling heavy after. It’s amazing how well they make their vegan pizzas, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. The best way to round off after is with their Tiramisu. Again, super light and a delectable way to end the meal. Big big appreciation to the staff, their dedication and positivity shows through their service and food.

To put it simple, best pizza in the world! You will not find a better pizza, I promise! We literally go every week minimum!

Great little indie pizza place, everything can be made vegan including an excellent selection of tiramisu! The pizzas were super tasty, service was friendly and relaxed, great atmosphere and the tiramisu was out of this world. So nice to get proper vegan dessert options, not just sorbet! Highly recommended!

Slow Rise is the best pizza place in Lincoln. Hands down. My partner used to live in Italy and he said it's some of the greatest pizza he's ever eaten! We order Slow Rise way more than is healthy, but it's just so good! We are moving away from Lincoln soon and it's one of the thing we will miss the most. The pizza is fresh, the ingredients are authentic, the staff are so lovely. Also the prices are so reasonable. If you want to eat in, I'd recommend booking as it's small, but they also have delivery and collection. My personal favourite is the truffle mushroom pizza, but the specials are always so appealing I struggle to ever get it! Highly, highly recommended!

Very tasty food, friendly service. Its a small restaurant only a few tables though and one table is so close to another i had to ask another customer to get up while they were eating which was a tad awkward. Music was also too loud for me, so maybe order for delivery or pick up. Still would recommend and will dine there again

I went in January for my birthday and had the best time so went again last night. I walked in and got the nicest smile from one of the chefs who also came over to talk to me about my allergy. The waitress was really nice also (I didn’t get names). Thanks for looking after us :)

Fantastic pizza. Make sure you book in advance as the place is popular and is usually fully booked. Staff are very friendly, they use top quality ingredients and always have a delicious and creative special on the menu.

We just learned about this place recently. Been twice already and will definitely be back for more... Best vegan/veggie pizza menu anywhere we've ever seen. And the puds are to die for too... would hands down recommend this place over anywhere else.

This is such a great place to eat. It is a vegetarian/vegan restaurant run by local people. If you are thinking of going I would advise you call ahead to book due to limited seating. It also does take away and delivery.

The food is delicious and the staff are wonderful and friendly. As it is always busy, it is best to book in advance. We shared a pizza and garlic bread so that we could save room for their delicious tiramisu.

Fantastic The pizzas were amazing, as were the mojitos. The place is a little cramped, but somehow, that feels like a good thing. The one thing I would change is to have steak knives at the table, as the normal knives are a bit of a pain to cut the pizza with.

Unparalleled pizza place. I travelled to Napoli a few months back and visited a few of the famous pizza spots out there - this place produces pizza which is on par with what they have to offer out there. I cannot believe the standard of food and customer service that is on offer here. Unbelievable.

What a great addition to Lincoln's dining offering. We have used them for takeaways on several occasions and the food and the service is excellent. All their pizzas are plant-based so great for any non-meat family members or guests.
