25 min wait, busy time. Main issue was not having anything giving me an idea/feedback of where my order was (if at all). When I asked server too busy to check and said they had 40 offers on. Not their fault at all. Other fast food outlets use big screens showing orders. Personally it was al also confusing having a table number and plastic order stand with QR and different processes.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at Slim Chickens was so disappointing that I felt I had to say something. The food service was a letdown - we waited 25 minutes for our order, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, while others who ordered similar amounts after we ordered ours were served much faster. We had to ask where our meal was multiple times due to the delay. The ‘seasoned fries’ were totally misleading, they had no seasoning and tasted completely plain. The sweet chilli sauce didn’t remotely taste like sweet chilli. I ordered a milkshake, but they didn’t have the flavor I selected, even though it was an option to order. After a long wait, we went to enquire about the shakes, and they just offered us a different flavor instead, leaving me unsure if the original shake was ever coming. On top of that, the place was filthy - food and dirt were all over the tables and floor inside, and outside, pigeons were swarming the tables, eating leftover food because the staff hadn’t bothered to clean them. The service was slow, the food was underwhelming, and the lack of cleanliness made the whole experience a mess.

Avoid This Place – Serious Food Safety Concern! I visited this restaurant on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, and had a shocking experience with undercooked chicken and unprofessional management. After biting into my chicken wings, I noticed blood oozing out, so I raised the issue with the Assistant Manager, Emily. She dismissed my concerns, insisting that the blood was just from veins and that the chicken was perfectly safe to eat. However, after biting into another wing with even more blood, I decided to check online—and sure enough, food safety guidelines clearly state that blood in cooked chicken is a sign of it being undercooked and unsafe to eat. I returned to the counter to escalate my concerns, but Emily refused to face me and hid behind the counter, sending another employee, Holly, to deal with the situation instead. Holly explained that Emily claimed she felt “intimidated” —a completely false and unprofessional excuse, as we had been polite and reasonable when we first raised the issue. The only saving grace of this visit was Holly, who handled the situation with professionalism, apologized, and immediately issued a full refund. In stark contrast, Emily’s behavior was completely unacceptable for a manager, as she failed to take a serious food safety issue seriously and avoided responsibility entirely. This is a major food safety risk, and I strongly advise other customers to be cautious when dining here. If I end up with food poisoning from this visit (which can take up to 72 hours to appear), I will be reporting this to environmental health authorities. If management reads this, I strongly recommend reprimanding Emily and promoting Holly, who clearly understands customer service far better. Food safety is not something to take lightly—this experience was unacceptable!

I have went here a week ago and I must say first of all the girl with the short hair was extremely rude and not meant for the till. Once I asked for a drink she looked at me awkwardly for 20 seconds then said you need to pay for it like that’s gonna be of issue 🤣🤣🤣. Secondly they didn’t let us eat in even though this was 30 mins before they closed which means we had to take it which was a very bad idea because I couldn’t return the red undercooked monstrosity that was thrown in the bag . I haven’t been here in a few years and it has definitely plummeted in terms of customer service and quality . I advise those who take consideration into what they eating to steer clear and I also want to complain about that short girl with the terrible hair cut 🤣.

Something was wrong with their food on my last order with me and my partner. After eating slims last night, we had to use washroom multiple times and had a weird stomach. Imagine travelling 30 mins for your dinner only for them to close the restaurant in order to fulfill online orders. Doesn’t that feel pretty backwards? Surely you honour the people who are there in person and shut off online orders if it’s getting unmanageable. This is the second disappointing trip and I won’t bother trying again. Enjoyed a lovely beef burger and nicer chips at another establishment.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received at your Bristol Cabot Circus location on the evening of 22nd November 2024. I have been a loyal customer of Slim Chickens for over a year, and this experience was incredibly disappointing, to the point where I feel compelled to take further action. As someone who has a disability and drove 50 minutes to dine in with my son—whom I only see on weekends—I expected a pleasant and stress-free experience. Unfortunately, I was met with unacceptable service, inconsistent communication, and concerning food safety practices. As someone with a disability, waiting over an hour in these conditions was particularly difficult and disappointing. Upon arrival at around 8:20 PM, I was informed that it would take approximately 30 minutes for my meal to be ready. I was happy to wait, but as time went on, I became increasingly frustrated with the poor service. After about 10 minutes, I inquired about the status of my milkshake and was met with a rude response from a young staff member who told me to “just wait” and that he was busy. He later apologized and explained that it was his first day and he was only 16. I appreciated his honesty and told him to take his time. However, around 25 minutes later, I noticed that the restaurant was near empty, which led me to question why my food hadn’t been served yet. I observed a basket of food sitting on the counter for about 15 minutes and hoped it wasn’t mine. Ten minutes later, the waiter picked up the food and brought it to my table. At that point, I was horrified to see that it was stone cold. I informed the waiter that I had seen the food sitting there for a while, and I refused to eat it. I requested that my meal be remade. The staff in the kitchen appeared upset and informed me that there were no more chicken tenders available and insisted that I eat the cold meal. I could feel that the chicken was cold and unappetising. After some back and forth, they agreed to remake the meal. A staff member came to apologise and offered us a free milkshake and a can of drink. I accepted, but after another 10 minutes, the waiter brought back the same basket of food, completely untouched and still stone cold. My son, who was becoming very hungry, ate a bite of the cold tenders before I could stop him. Since then, he has been complaining of stomach pain, which is now causing me significant concern. I left the restaurant without eating anything, feeling upset, frustrated, and worried for my son’s health after such a distressing experience. At that point, I was offered a refund, which I reluctantly accepted. The manager apologised, and we left the establishment. Later that evening, my son’s stomach pains continued, and I am now deeply concerned that the cold food may have contributed to his discomfort. This raises further questions about the handling of food at your restaurant. I am left wondering what exactly was done with my meal when it was taken back to be remade, considering it was returned to me in the same cold condition. I am extremely upset and disappointed by this entire experience. As a loyal customer, I never expected to be treated in such a manner. I would appreciate a formal apology for this incident and an assurance that this will be investigated further, both in terms of the quality of food handling and the behavior of staff at this location.

Don’t bother - ordered online via UberEats. Ordered a plant based burger, large fries, an extra £3 for a chocolate milkshake and £5.45 for the crispy onions side. Over £20 total order. The order arrived and they had just given me the burger and chips. How a fast food restaurant can be that incompetent to literally forget to pack a large side order and a drink is beyond me. Called up the store and they told me there was nothing they could do and tried to blame the delivery driver. Of the meal I received - the burger was disgusting, one of the worst I have had. Soggy and cold with barely any flavour. The fries were also cold and chewy, with no seasoning at all. It seems as well as forgetting my side and drink they also forgot to put salt on the fries! Overall terrible experience won’t be going in there or ordering for delivery again.

Paid a visit to slim chickens Cabot circus today after an afternoon shopping in broadmead with my daughter! I had barely stepped through the door was greeted with a very happy looking young lady from behind the counter. I asked another member of staff for her name I think he said azarah? Maybe Zara ? I’m not sure I’m sorry , she was absolutely lush though I ordered just a chocolate shake for my daughter and a lotus biscoff shake for myself and both were the most amazing shakes I’d ever tasted! So generous with your chosen toppings and so thoroughly enjoyable! Moreish too I couldn’t put it down haha! The icing on the cake for me was the other young lady we encountered, (again I asked for her name , I was told by the gentlemen named Yousef that her name was Meg ) , so professional and polite asked us if we had everything we needed and if she could help with anything while clearing our now empty shake cups! I said no thank you my darling but thank you and those shakes were yummy! She replied “aww well good I’m glad you liked them and I hope we get to see you and this beautiful little girl again very soon , you take care and have a great rest of the day!” How lovely ! Thank you slim’s and yes meg we will be back soon my lovely hope to see you!

One of the worst experiences in a fast food restaurant. No chicken wings available in a chicken shop. Mac and cheese was just like a tinned Mac and cheese from the 80’s, thin sauce and zero cheese flavour. It was a tiny portion of mac and cheese for almost £7. No bottomless fizzy drinks available so were given the choice of one canned drink. Chicken tenders I received were greasy, whole restaurant menu is over priced.

Stopped here for a quick side of chips since it's a 'fast food' place, and ordered it for takeaway. Took 30 minutes and the waiting area was absolutely packed with other people, including uber eats drivers and people dining in. We even overheard a woman saying she had been waiting an hour, along with the many others who were there longer than us. Poor service on their part and awful system for orders, doing each 1 by 1 rather than doing smaller orders at the same time since they shouldn't need to cook a whole new batch for 1 separate order.

If I could make my review 0 stars, I would. I ordered a singular portion of fried pickles. ONE ITEM TOTAL. The order was placed to takeaway 17:34 and I didn't get it until 18:02. ALMOST 30 MINUTES FOR ONE ITEM!!!? When I asked a member of staff how long do they think it'll be after 10 minutes of waiting, they say about another 5-10 minutes. Somehow, not only is that appalling but I still somehow managed to get it even later. Best part? The food was hot, but not crispy. The batter was basically raw on the pickles at the bottom of the pack. Flickering lights at the counter and staff constantly ignoring me as I'm trying to get some answers. Worst service I've ever received at any food place.

I had the pleasure of dining at Slim Chickens in Cabot Circus Bristol on Sunday the 18th of August and was served by the lovely Louis/Louie (Sorry, didn't catch the spelling). Louie gave exceptional service, the speed at which he worked, kindness he showed to everyone and his cheerful demeanor made the experience pleasurable. From the moment I walked in, Louie greeted me with a warm smile and a friendly demeanor that instantly made me feel welcome. His positive attitude and genuine care for the customers truly stood out. The food was delicious, but it was Louie’s outstanding service that made my visit memorable. It’s clear that he takes pride in his work and goes above and beyond to ensure a great dining experience for everyone. I highly recommend visiting Slim Chickens and hope you have the chance to be served by Louie. He truly is a gem of a person. Please pass my regards on to Louie and make sure his manager gives him a reward!

We visited for the first time with some friends that love the place. We enjoyed the wide array of dips on offer and the chicken was deliciously crispy! It's a shame that the machines weren't working for the bottomless drinks and we were just given a can instead (would've been nice to be offered something to make up for this). The staff was very friendly and helpful, food was served quickly. Then my kids wanted a milkshake and I didn't think anything of ordering one... Until it came to paying! £5.50 for a milkshake? You used to be able to get a decent dessert in a pub in a pub not too long ago... Overall we enjoyed the food and experience but next time my kids will have to go without the overpriced milkshake!

Ordered a chicken wrap, and there was about 1 chicken tender in the whole wrap, so was left with quite a lot of wrap and no chicken. Staff also took a while to find our table despite having a number displayed, and they didn't bring the water we ordered.

Attracted by the poster CRUNCHY milkshake, and I’m sure their manager never tried their crunchy milkshake before, otherwise, they will realise how difficult to suck through their poor thin paper made straw, it is a joke, they expect your mouth is like a 12000pa vacuum machine. Remember, if you want to order this one, take your own straw

Chicken is pretty good, some might say it's better than KFC. Employees are friendly and service overall is good. However that isn't enough for me to come back, and I'll probably never come back because they only offer sugar free drinks, and I just can't drink sweetener, it's absolutely vile. Prices are out of this world, I think that's the most I ever paid for such a tiny chicken sandwich, it's basically a mini sandwich that will set you back £12 with fries and a sugar free undrinkable drink... I honestly feel like I was robbed.

4.1rating are you guys having a laugh one of the worst customer service first there is no place to sit down when there’s no person on the counter when we took the food and we finally got a table. Imagine you have a family of five and you don’t get a table all of a sudden you find a table and someone come up to you. You are about to eating they don’t have even this much manners and they said you are sorry on the weekend. When we get home missing the garlic bread. Shame on these people. Missing the garlic bread phoning them. Nobody answering the phone. Management is absolutely zero. I got all the receipts. And everything. Obviously I got the car payments. Where are paid with my card. Shame on you guys absolutely ridiculous, Service We’re not allowed anybody with a takeaway boxes. Bad customer service from the beginning. I asked if they could serve the chicken tenders ACTUALLY tender. They served me dry, fried chicken. Nothing was tender about it. One of the male staff approaches me and says we don’t serve undercooked chicken and if I want undercooked chicken I should make it at home. They started throwing insults at me FIRST. (No wonder I was being “rude”)Once I become annoyed with even our milkshakes taking a long time the staff accuses me of being rude. I asked for them to change the chicken and they try to justify the inexcusable and try to gaslight me. BTW this chicken tender was for an elderly family member. It was not my meal. I had the fried chicken wings which was fine. Look at that photo and tell me if this is worth £10.95!? Slim chicken staff thinks it’s ok to serve this! They said this is our standard of chicken tender. If you don’t like it tough luck 😂. Subpar standards is their motto.

Went with 4 friends on a Saturday evening at 7, ordered food and when it was ready, they told us it was ready to take-away and we couldn't sit down and eat it. When we asked why they said they were closing?? Saturday evening @7 pm...closing?? Had we known, we would have taken our business elsewhere. Won't be going back there again. Rude staff.

Lovely place been before but fair few years ago still great love the fish pond in the middle and open kitchen the food was great we had 1 issue with a fatty steak and was quickly sorted with meal replacement our sever summer was great very polite and efficient and smiley the bar staff were also polite great place thanks summer

It's a fine Indian. The place was not well taken off, but it was quiet. Service was slow but amicable. Food was ok. The Currys were full of flavour, but the naans were a bit flat.
