The service was great and the staff were so friendly. Plus, the food was incredible! Food and drinks both came out very fast!

Always reliably good food. Handy that it’s open on a Monday when a lot of others are closed but surprisingly busy. We loved our generous meals.

Had a wonderful meal, with my Grandson catchup. I had the Mediterranean Omelette it was delicious, my grandson devoured his Korean Belly Pork, he said it was fab, clean plate 👍 . The Service was so good, very friendly staff. I'm definitely going back to this lovely Restaurant. Good quality and good prices too 🙂

Visted Monday 25th March 2024. First time eating here, and I was impressed. The welcome, the service, and the food all first class. Cannot believe I have waited this long.

Went with my family a few days ago, three family members had the beef stroganoff which is a dish we normally have at Sleepers, the dish was nice, however a little rich this time, my daughter did mention that the rice had a funny taste to it. The following day all three family members had a bad stomach. I decided to call Sleepers today to let them know, the guy who answered the phone told me he was the manager, he told me nobody else has complained and that the stomach upset that we had could of been caused by us spreading it to each other, I said that this could not be the case as the other family members that had different food was all ok, the response I received after this was unbelievable, he told me that he didn't like it that I was making serious allegations about the food and that he did not like the way I was talking to him ( I certainly wasn't talking to him funny) I asked for his first name, he told me that he wasn't giving me it as I haven't given him my name, I then gave him my name and asked for his again, he said again that he wasn't giving me it and that he was the manager, I asked for the persons name above him, once again he told me that he wasn't given me that either. I said to the guy during the conversation, as a customer that uses Sleepers often, you have not even offered me an apology, the guy then turned round and said, he wouldn't be giving me an apology, when I said to him its ok I will put a review on TripAdvisor, he said to me, tell who you want and go to Environment Health. The customer service from this so called manager was diabolical and he really needs some training in customer service, all I was doing was letting them know about the food normally in this situation an apology would of been offered, out of curtesy. One thing for certain is, myself and my family will not be using this place again due to the rudeness of this so called manager, I've honestly never known anything like it, it was more like a 15 year old teenager had answered the phone with the attitude he had.

We all really enjoyed delicious tasty food especially chicken dishes with good portions.Friendly staff with good service.Definitely recommend.

Went for a breakfast. Both had full English - absolutely faultless. Red hot, good quality ingredients, and delicious. Best breakfast in Hull without a shadow of doubt. Went again on New Year's Eve and had the bratwurst hot dig and wife had mushroom stroganoff. Again both meals were superb. Been coming regularly for the last 10 years and never disappointed. Lovely attentive friendly staff too.

Always reliable for their food. Went on a quiet Tuesday afternoon and was served attentively by the staff. However, a pint of Guinness costs £6.20, which is frankly ridiculous!

This place is always busy so thought we’d give it a try. The wait staff were lovely and friendly but the food was average at best. Especially for the price. A few big chips and two kebabs which had a couple of pieces of pork belly, chorizo and black pudding.with a bit of bagged salad for £17 and Mediterranean chicken which was the saddest looking chicken breast wrapped in bacon, sat in what tasted like pasta sauce from a jar, again £17. Massively overpriced for very average tasting food: There are far better places around the Avenues in my opinion.

Visited with my partner & Son for food on a Sunday night. We rang to book a table 5 minutes before. I just love the decor of this place. The staff are friendly & welcoming, we was shown to a table but asked if we could move & this was not a problem & was shown to a table in the window. My partner & son both ordered the Korean pork belly & I ordered the Halloumi burger. ( only 6 vegetarian options avail) we ordered 2 sides of chunky chips but when these came they was skinny fries. (The waitress who took our order said they was changing over) & cheesy garlic bread. We all really enjoyed the food. To summarise-great decor-great food -friendly staff. What more can you ask for.

Positives: food was lovely and prices reasonable. I feel front of house/initial welcome was lacking..or do i expect too much? I like water to be brought to table and to be asked if we would like nibbles etc whilst waiting to order mains. This was lacking. Male barman was excellent kept keeping us topped up in drinks. I didnt feel looked after ...God I sound needy but some establishments in Hull have nailed this so its become an expectation. Food was very delayed coming out but luckily we were in no hurry but again it would have been nice to have been kept in the loop. We spent a lot of money but didnt feel valued.

Always had great food here. Menu has different options to most other places. Love the home made chips which seem to be such a rarity nowadays.

Don’t get me wrong I love sleepers great food and drink lovely place, but when I asked the hostess if it was possible to pop in for a few drinks with me wife I was immediately told quite harshly “ no fully booked” ….now looking around they were many many many empty tables. We was never asked , “ how long will you be these tables are free until etc etc, or of course but we really need these tables back at a certain time” So we popped across to Larkins had a couple of drinks before our evening meal at Gusto, as we walked past sleepers still all them empty tables. This isn’t a negative review. More of a comment to the owner this policy you have is loosing you business , I want to see your place bustling as it should be, stop turning away walk ins , just explain you need tables back in 30 mins , 1 hour etc.

The food here is maybe my favourite in Hull, it's lovely and so reasonably priced for what it is. The inside is great too, and the staff are so so helpful.

Food was loverly, had the salt and pepper squid to start and sleepers burger, both was beautiful! service was good! Porn star martinis are spot on! Highly recommend!

Came here on my boyfriends birthday for some drinks, the bar staff where great, made the occasion very special for us both, will definitely be coming back again

We had booked a bottomless brunch and was very dissapointed with the service. The first drinks were fine and arrived promptly. The food was excellent but took 50 minutes to arrive. Part of the deal is you have to finish your drink before another is served, on some occasions we were without drinks for 5-10 minutes as only 1 person was making the cocktails, so we only managed about 5 cocktails.

Had our first meal out here as a couple after having our baby a few months ago. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our booking which was fine as our table was ready. Ordered drinks, very nice. Ordered our food then our babysitter called me home as she couldn't settle our baby. We only live 5 minutes drive away so my husband stayed at the restaurant while I went back to settle and feed our baby. A minute or two after I left our starters arrived, so my husband explained why I'd had to leave and asked if our food could be kept warm until I returned. They said yes, but he was told that if I didn't return by 8.30pm they would bring all our food out together and leave it on the table, as the kitchen closes at 9pm. Online it says the restaurant is open until 10.30pm, which is one of the reasons we chose it. Nowhere did it say the kitchen closes at 9pm. I returned to the restaurant at 8.18pm and about 2 minutes later a bell rang from the kitchen. A waitress said "that's the kitchen telling me I have to bring your food out now, I have no choice." This did not make us feel very welcome or valued as customers at all! Our starters were really nice (pattie bon bons, olive dish and creamy mushrooms). As soon as we'd finished those, our mains came out. They were also really nice (pork belly and thai curry) and plentiful. Before we'd finished eating our mains, we were asked if we wanted any more cocktails or coffees as they were calling last orders. We said no as we didn't feel very relaxed at this point. Another staff member then began sweeping the floor around us. There were literally 4 couples in the whole restaurant by this point, so there wasn't much mess to tidy up and it could definitely have waited until we all left, or had at least finished eating! Overall the food was really lovely and plentiful, but even though my husband had explained our situation, we didn't feel very welcome in the restaurant. We won't be going here again.

I went to Sleepers with my partner and my 2 grandchildren at 4.30pmI had booked and arrived slightly early The table outside was ready and clean It was the first meal out since the end of the lockdown and we didn’t know what to expect The whole evening was great Our worry that it may be cold came to nothing. Although we didn’t use the heaters in the outside booth they were there if needed. The food was excellent and the service was goodThe COVID safety procedures were in place but it didn’t effect our enjoyment in any wayThe staff and management have done a really good job of making the outside area a pleasure to experience We will certainly go again

Went in for lunch ,the meal was very tasty meal .felt COVID safe,and the staff was lovely and friendly.

Was meeting at the door and explained the Covid procedure and that everyone was table service, felt safe throughout. The service was prompt and ALL the staff were lovely and friendly. Between us we had the chicken kebabs and the Sleepers burger which arrived promptly - we made alterations to our food order and the staff were happy to accommodate! We had a large table of 8, we was well looked after. Brilliant Sunday roast. Everyone on the table was more than pleased. Highly recommend!

Our first meal out since before lockdown, we chose Sleepers for our anniversary meal as we have been regular visitors for years. We checked the menu at home knowing the choices were reduced due to new rules but we had the same old problem....what do we choose, because all our favourites were still there! We had a 3 course meal and everything was as delicious as ever, tables were nicely spaced and regularly cleaned. Thank you Shannon for your care and attention. Can't wait to come back :)

Sleepers is our favourite place to eat. We are moving away on Saturday and had to have our celebration/last meal out in Hull here. The food is amazing, the cocktails even more so and the staff are so friendly.

A group (Covid rules) meal very well organised. Starters, mains, dessert and a hot coffee very well presented. Friendly staff, nothing was a problem not even a request for tooth picks! Will definitely be back.

Couldn’t wait to return to our favourite restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. It was a lovely change having table service I must say which meant we could just sit back and relax and also appreciate the new cladding they’ve done outside. Food was excellent as always, service amazing & we’ve booked again for the weekend. Thank you!

I visited Hull this week to help my daughter move student accommodation and we decided to go for lunch last minute at Sleepers. I used to visit this place every few weeks about 4 years ago when I lived in the area and just loved it. I was a little worried that it had changed (as I know the menu had changed and was offering less due to Covid restrictions) but was not disappointed at all. It was every bit what I remembered it to be. Warm, friendly service and amazing food. The staff (Lynn served us and was amazing) could not do enough for us and especially because of the new restrictions they are having to deal with. The hospitality industry has been hard hit due to Covid and everyone is trying their hardest to make it as good an experience as they can under the circumstances. They are doing a grand job here.

Sleepers is always a favourite for us. We have now made two visits since the Covid restrictions and we loved both times! They are doing such a fab job! The new decoration looks fantastic, the food was amazing ; we had the haddock loin, pepper chicken, fillet steak and fish and chips. The service was excellent as usual. The manager Gemma and staff who served us were clearly rushed off their feet but they could not of been more helpful and friendly! Can’t recommend enough! :)

I am a regular customer at Sleepers, pre lockdown obviously, so when I knew they were opening up again I was thrilled. I decided to take my elderly auntie out for some lunch but she was very nervous about stepping out again into a very changed world. I assured her Sleepers would look after her and I needn’t have worried at all. On arrival we waited to be seater as instructed, we were greeted by a lovely young lady who took the government required track and trace details then explained the changes in Sleepers due to COVID-19. We were asked to use the hand sanitizer as we entered and told there are sanitation units outside the lady’s toilet which we should use before entering the toilets as well. The place was full and I mean full but the staff were clearly doing their best to social distance and sanitizer the place thoroughly. Our table service (a treat I have to say) was done swiftly and my Auntie was very happy. It was a very reassuring environment...and, needless to say, the food was as awesome as ever!!! Well done to the Sleepers team.PS. The place has also been fully redecorated I what I can only describe as a “botanical’ theme with which I thought was beautiful. Well done guys!

I have always been a fan of sleepers, so as soon as they reopened I booked a table for me and my partner to go for the evening. When we arrived we realised they’ve re decorated, it really brightens up the place and the atmosphere was spot on. We was approached by an older woman who was friendly enough to ask us to Sanitise our hands, we was then lead to our table, which was social distanced from other customers within the shop. I felt safe and secure. We then ordered our starters, main and drink, and wow the service was so quick! Starters we waited for around 15 minutes and the portion sizes was incredible, especially for the ‘eat out scheme’. Then the mains came, we ordered the lasagne, chips and garlic bread - recommend 100%, the chefs really know what they’re doing! Can not fault sleepers at all, the food is amazing, the social distancing rules has been followed, the staff are friendly, always checking up, asking if everything is good with our food, asking if we’re happy etc, so we booked again for the following week for date night. First time back at Sleepers post lockdown and great to be back. My four month wait for the beef stroganoff was almost worth it! My partner had the Sea Bass special which looked a picture and tasted just as good. The place has been totally refurbed too and looks great. It was packed with the eat out to help out offer being on and despite the staff being rushed off their feet they were the usual friendly helpful bunch I've come to expect. Due to the reduced number of tables to meet the COVID requirements there was perhaps not the usual buzz about the place but there was certainly plenty of space to social distance. All in all, a great night!

Food was incredible and the portion sizes were very good value for money. The staff were lovely and the restaurant seemed to take extra care to sanitize which was particularly good to see as we were a bit hesitant to eat out at the minute. We were seated straight away and never felt like we were waiting too long for anything. Would recommend coming here to anyone!

My daughter and I visited tonight and were excited as we’ve always been huge fans of Sleepers. We were kept waiting a while on arrival to be shown our table, and on entry to the pub we weren’t encouraged to sanitise our hands or complete track and trace details. This surprised me a bit. Our table was set for three people, even though when I’d called to make the reservation the previous Monday, I’d only booked it for two. The waitress we had was absolutely lovely, took our order, brought us drinks, etc. After our starter, the manageress came over to tell me that I hadn’t actually made a reservation and she needed our table for some people who had just arrived. I assured her I had made a reservation and even told her when I’d called and who I spoke to. She still insisted I hadn’t made a booking and must have called the Beverley bar instead. This annoyed me for two reasons. Firstly, she was implying I was either stupid or a liar....and secondly, the way she spoke to me. I even offered to show her my outgoing calls from my mobile to prove I’d called the Newland Avenue bar, but she said it wasn’t necessary. She said she wasn’t sure if there was another vacant table, but after checking, made us move to a different table, quickly before the mains arrived as she needed the table back shortly. As it turned out, the meals took quite a long time to arrive, then after that we waited ages again for our bill. All-in-all, the waitress was lovely, the food was adequate, certainly not it’s usual standard, and the manageress was just rude and lacked people skills, especially when it was their error that they hadn’t written down my booking!!

Went for tea here on Wednesday 5th August. Food and service was amazing as usual. Would like to compliment all the staff and management for a truly enjoyable evening

Me and my daughter decided to pay sleepers (Hull) a visit Wednesday lunchtime our first outing since March. I was a bit worried having shielded since March. We were greeted warmly by Gemma who guided us through the new procedures. Communication between all staff was excellent. The food was amazing. It was nice to be back in sleepers and I felt very safe and that was due to Gemma and her excellent team. I would definitely recommend. They have made sleepers some where you can relax and feel safe during this mad year. Will definitely be back next week.Thank you Gemma and staff

Visited with family for Sunday lunch. Not quite sure how to sum up the whole experience, lacklustre maybe? Staff weren't rude as such but every member we had interaction with seemed so unenthusiastic and almost lazy. When we arrived there were about 3 or 4 other tables with 5 members of staff on the floor so fairly quiet. Waited a long while for staff to approach to take our order. At this point staff were either chatting to each other at the bar or repeatedly walking past our table to spray/set other tables. Eventually we asked a passing member to take our order. No rudeness but not overly friendly. Drinks and food arrived fine. When we were finishing up the mains a young lad arrived to take our plates. I'm a sucker for manners so wasn't too impressed when he neither asked if we were finished before he started collecting nor asked how everything was. I worked in hospitality for over a decade and it's textbook. Following that, a female staff member passed our table and collected some empty glasses and said 'are you wanting another drink or the bill?' I'm sorry, I didn't realise those were our only options - not 'would you like to see desserts menu or can I get you any other drinks or anything?' At the same time we witnessed another table struggling to get the staff to notice that they were ready to place their order. I've been a few times pre covid and thought it was alright but I'm really confused by the whole lack of effort on this occasion. A slow day shouldn't mean the service standards drop and with fierce competition from Larkins and Hang Out and other places down Newland offering good customer service I would have hoped for more. Won't be rushing back anytime soon and suggest the management look at some refresher training with the staff on shift on 09/08.

I went here on Wednesday for lunch, My first time eating out since the pandemic began. There was lack of communication, I waited an hour for food which wasn’t communicated at all to me. The burger was very grisly. Had to wait for cutlery to be given after food arrive even though there was an hour wait. The general manager, Gemma seems to need some training in management and customer skills. She was passive aggressive, extremely rude, and condescending. If your can’t accommodate properly then don’t take as many bookings, if customer service is to drop to these low standards. Sleepers used to be one of my favourite places to eat out and I highly recommended. But after the treatment from Gemma I won’t be going again nor will I be recommending. Appalling management!

So I understand this is the first day of reopening with safety measures ( but I've eaten at a few places during lockdown and has been no problems whatsoever and I could understand the odd hiccup.But this was another level, on arrival we was waiting ages for someone to come and greet us, finally then was shown to our seats, and been given our menus.It took a whopping 35 minutes for someone to come and just take our drinks/food order, think id read the menu 50 times by then! the staff was so unorganised and really slow. The amount of times I shouted excuse me was embarrassing, then they served everyone else around us that came in after us which really annoyed me!!Everyone was complaining about the food too!Food took another 40 minutes to arrive,My food was average, and my boy had been given something different to what I even asked for!I then needed my bill ....and you guessed it no one was coming over again...it was like we was invisble so again shouting excuse me again lots of times the girl came over who was rolling her eyes at me and was acting like i was being unreasonable, the people all near me was all agreeing its a shambles.In my opinion more staff is definetly needed and a bit more organisation. I don't know if they realise but the parking is only 2 hours on Newland avenue i was lucky to not receive a ticket the amount of time I was waiting!The funny thing is, people was getting turned away cos the tables were full but if they served the customers quicker that would then make them happy customer's and they would have more tables available. I expressed my disappointment and they didn't even care this is why I'll express it on here instead.

The salt and pepper shrimp as a starter is absolutely delicious, best I’ve ever had. As for rest of the menu found it to be a limiting but the beef stroganoff is worth a try. I have never tried the specials. Always seems to be busy during the day and chairs are very small and uncomfortable. There are a few comfy chairs with padding near front of restaurant but they’re sparse and it can get quite cramped. Staff are nice and friendly. Would recommend trying at least one time.

Recieved a warm welcome on arrival but sorry to say it lacked asphere.Long wait for our meals,but well the wait. No interaction with staff other than to clear the dishes, just asked if we had finish, didn't ask if we had enjoyed our meal, wasn't ask if we wanted a dessert or coffee. Arrived 8.10pm left at 9.15pm, the place was practically empty on a Friday night.

Generating a friends birthday. Table 4 for the win. Best bottomless brunch in Hull. Lots of choice with both drinks and food and for a good price. Would highly recommend.

Went today for lunch with 5 friends. Everyone’s meal was excellent well cooked, tasty and plentiful. We go out to lunch every other week and this was by far the best meal we have had in a long time. The service was very good and I would definitely recommend it.

Ok so this place was sooo! Bad that I’m struggling where to start. We were out with a large group and from the moment it was booked we got mixed messages and we had to bend to fit their requirements. The customer service didn’t exist. On the evening it’s self the beef wellington was so tough that people refused to finish it. The bar had an incredibly poor choice of beer and to add insult to ingury, we were then chased off our table as they had double booked the table but neglected to mention a time limit when we booked. The only redeeming feature was that the staff were lovely

We went to sleepers after our friends recommendation and we weren’t disappointed. We went for the sharing platter for starter which was divine everything tasted fab and was cooked to perfection, my husband then had kleftico and I had Mediterranean chicken which again was perfect but we couldn’t finish it as too full , beer good and everything reasonably priced , it’s a little gem of a place

After hearing very good reviews of sleepers and their famous stroganoff I was looking forward to attending with my work colleagues. Very very poor!! Stroganoff was flavourless and the beef was just lumps of fat which got spat out! Service was horrendous the waitress rolled her eyes when we asked for more cutlery after starters(which were actually very nice) almost an hour wait for main.The toilets!!!! Wow how health and safety haven't been informed I just don't know, both womens toilets full of tissue urine and I'm sure you can imagine! Flush didn't work on either toilet, no locks on the doors, massive cobwebs. I could not use so went to the disabled toilet the smell when opening the door very nearly made me sick not clean at all. I had to use the toilet facilities in Asda on my home. What once was a well know eatery has gone as far down the hill as possible. Never ever will I return. Plenty of places to eat in hull, don't disappoint yourself by going here. Sorry sleepers but you should hang your heads in shame. Very sad. As this was a work meal which was paid for by our company the few of us that wanted to complain didn't however if I was expected to pay for the main meal myself I would have refused. And not being able to use the toilet facilities, complete joke.

Excellent service and excellent food! Sleepers never disappoints! Had a lovely celebration for my grandma’s birthday with the family, and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We only waited half an hour for our food considering the restaurant was full and all of the food arrived to our table at the same time. Couldn’t fault the food or the service! Never had a problem with Sleepers and the food is always to a high standard, one of my favourite places to eat!

We've gone to sleepers for many years but I'm afraid to say I won't be going anymore service was atrocious and waited for nearly 1 hour for food.

We went to Sleepers in Beverley on October 20th to celebrate our friend's birthday. We were not disapointed. There was 14 guests in the party and most ordered different meals. I ordered the roast dinner and it came with fresh vegetables and was very tasty. Considering there was 14 if us, we didn't have long to wait. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service and i would definitely go again.

Great tasty eggs benedict. But really didn’t expect to wait nearly 50mins. Only one other table in when we arrived. Ordered food with 3 of us having the same. After 45 mins asked where our food was, to be told it was been plated up now. Slightly annoying to then watch food come out to a table that had ordered nearly 30mins after us. No explanation from the staff, no apology from the staff even though they had clearly messed up. Poorly handled.

We eaten at Sleepers for over ten years. The food,service and value for money has been in decline over the last eighteen months with the prices rising and the amount of food served decreasing. We went in for an early evening meal on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a lamb kleftico and a spicy chicken kebab(the lamb kebabs were taken off the menu a couple of years ago as they were too expensive, you originally got three kebabs then it was cut back to two). We ordered a bottle of wine and the two meals. 40 minutes passed by and I was ready to ask for my money back. My girlfriend asked the waitress who is very good were the food was. She replied that the chicken kebab had to be cooked from scratch forgetting that she had told me 40 minutes earlier when I ordered that I was lucky as they only had one chicken kebab left. The meals arrived after 45 minutes. The lamb kleftico was ok however the veg was watery and the mash looked like it had been reheated. The spicy chicken kebabs were covered in a very hot curry paste which looked like it had been spooned out of a jar and had a powdery texture. All in all it was disappointing to see a once lovely eating venue hit the ‘rails’ and go in to decline. I suspect the original chef is no longer there and hasn’t been for months.

A group of us went here on a week night after work. The food was very nice and such a selection; well worth trying. The staff very good and attentive.

Went for an impromptu lunch. Burger nicely presented with the extras added. Bit into it and nearly broke my teeth- it hadn’t been cooked that day and was probably microwaved back to life. The more I tried to eat the harder it got. Shame because the rest of the meal was nice. My partner is a chef so gave it a hesitant thumbs up. The salad was a bit dry on their dish but otherwise ok. Chef must have changed as two years ago it was fab. Newland Avenue has changed ! Not for the better- lots of beggars to negotiate. Plenty of them huddled around the cash machine and beer outlets -intimidating

been here a few times and its been lovely been here a few times and its been very average , its not very reliable and you never know what type of food your going to get if your down newland ave i think level is a better option.

In the area so decided to call in for an early evening meal. Very pleasantly surprised with the menu variety. One Thai sea bass and one sweet chilli salmon. Nicely presented , reasonably priced and served by attentive staff. Why are you waiting just get yourself there.

Made a return visit today 2/7/19, we did the right thing. Friendly staff, good atmosphere and the food was enjoyable and fit for a coeliac.

We booked a table of 9 with a £5 per head deposit that came off the final bill. Great service and delicious food. Found out they have a Beverley branch so tried that out last Saturday and it was just as good with a bigger venue

First time visiting, was very busy when we first came in. Ordered drinks from a lovely guy at the bar and was served straight away. After I heard another lady complaining about the wait for food I looked around realising there were 6 tables of five or a lot more. A girl came over apologising for the wait for our food and explained we should of been told before ordering. She offered us drinks on the house. Our food came maybe 40 minutes after ordering starters and it was amazing, we both had some sort of chicken for main and that was to die for. Would defo recommend

Visited here with friends, was pleased with our food, me & a friend shared some starters, bruschetta & the deep fried Brie, both was really good! I had the Swordfish Thai curry. Expected more sauce, but was generally really good. Everyone else’s looked fab too! Service was fab. It’s now become one of our fav places to eat. Price wise, it’s what you’d expect to pay, starters were around £5-£7 each & my main was around £16 if I remember?

Sleepers used to be incredible!! I think anyone in Hull would be able to tell you about Sleepers, it had amazing food, great service and a good price. I last visited in November 2018 and my gosh it was a stark contrast, stressed staff, poor food and all in all pretty awful! I am yet to venture back but let us hope they have turned it around.

We visited on a busy Friday evening, a large pre-booked table of work colleagues. We had all paid a £5 deposit and pre-ordered our meals so everything was pretty well organised.

This was my the third visit to Sleepers just last week and I am never disappointed when I come back. The place has a nice relaxed atmosphere and quite a busy Friday evening. Although busy, we weren’t kept waiting too long for our food, which was absolutely amazing, the menu is quite varied and is cooked to perfection. I had the Mediterranean Chicken and the tomato and olive sauce which was served with it was gorgeous. My friends had the Halloumi salad, mushroom stroganoff and the fish and chips and all said they thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Two of us opted for the chocolate coronet pavlovas, well what can I say, they were chocolate heaven. I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant whether you’re with friends, family, on a special date, it will suit all occasions.

Have visited on many occasions and the food quality and service is never anything less than brilliant. Had the platter sharer and it was a good selection and excellent quality. Also had the seasoned chips which are without doubt the best in the town. Once again - well done Sleepers. Nearly forgot - pleasant friendly staff too.

Came with my work lot. Everyone loved the food, couldn’t be more happier with the portion sizes. Great atmosphere, staff where friendly and very helpful. Will be back

Food was good. Portions a little on the small side, for the lighter bites. Drinks a little on the expensive side. Can add a hefty £15 to the bill for two.

Always love a Sleepers full English on a Sunday. I will admit it’s pricier than other English breakfasts in the area but the quilting is outstanding. Love the chilled atmosphere of sleepers and the staff are always lovely & friendly x

I am a returning customer to Sleepers after a couple of years of abstinence. Have visited several times now over the last 3 months and have not been disappointed on any of them. On our last visit although very busy we managed to find a table, order food and drinks within minutes of arriving. We chose our main course(s) from the specials board (Fish kebabs & Lamb Tagine) and both were very tasty and plenty enough in quantity for both of us. We did not have a sweet on this occasion but have previously and were able to share one between the two of us on these visits. The staff are friendly and efficient and always responsive to queries or requests.

Went for lunch with friends. Overall very good and reasonably priced. Best part of the meal was the salted caramel cheesecake. It is covered in salted caramel sauce with shards of chocolate! Very filling but absolutely worth it!!!

Great food, friendly professional staff, helpful with any request. There’s some things that money can’t buy and thats what makes Sleepers special, a great place. A real credit to the owner and staff. Good on yeah, you should all be proud. some places just get it right. Thanks for having us.

Visited sleepers with 6 friends on a Wednesday evening and we all felt very let down. The initial disappointment was having to wait 50 minutes for our food to arrive and received no apology for this. When it finally did arrive the food was average at best and definitely very overpriced for what it was. One friend ordered 3 small plates instead of a main meal, which came to £16, and left hungry.

We went here before going to watch our son play in his band. It was about 7pm on a Sunday night, it was busy and quite a lively atmosphere. We ordered a sharing platter for £18.00 which I thought was quite expensive, we added coleslaw £2 and seasoned fries £4. When it arrived it looked lovely and very appetising. When we had finished eating I thought it was all well worth the price, it was delicious and we both enjoyed all of it except the bruschetta which had cold stuff on top, not pleasant. All in all with a pint of lager each the bill came to £30. Will go again.

I have been to Sleepers on several occasions, fantastic food and an enjoyable atmosphere! Great offers on food during the day as well. Food is definitely value for money and staff are always welcoming.

Have visited quite a few times, on our own or with family, there is something for everyone including the vegitarian. Food is always good even though the wait can be quite a while, everything is cooked to order, so dont be in a hurry, enjoy!

Popped in at lunch time - it was busy as always but we got a table. Ordered a wrap which was on the menu and one that was option available as an option in a jacket potatoe filling but we wanted it in a wrap - no problem at all.

Pleasant staff made every effort to seat us,even when busy,the food took a while to arrive,but well worth waiting for and will be returning.

The food can be on the slow side arriving but it is not a fast food place, so be prepared to wait. The food and menu are varied and there was something for everyone

We visited on a dinner when it was 2 meals for £12. Really good value and the chips are lovely, they are 'proper' chips. Staff are really friendly.

Portion sizes are smaller yet prices have gone up. Food items i.e bread rolls for burgers have changed to cheaper items. Coke was flat. Coleslaw had that sour out of date taste to it. So basic now and unfortunately not the best in Hull anymore :-(

Love the food here. The ‘muchos nachos’ sharer starter is the best! Staff are friendly and the drinks are also good too.

We popped in for a drink and evening meal with our friends. It turned out to be absolutely fantastic...faultless and the food was superb, we are hoping to go back again this Sunday afternoon if as planned we are in the area...

Been to sleepers quite a few times over the last few years. Never had a bad meal yet. Food has always been good and nice quality. Staff friendly and efficient. Nice atmosphere. Good price. Nice atmosphere. One of my favourite places down newland.
