Rude manager and very unprofessional shouting at staff across the bar and cocktails undrinkable.

Great food but Took 50 mins for 2 portions of chips and it wasn’t longer because I went to the kitchen, 3 doors down, and directly asked for them

Paid 60 pound for a meal for 4 , no burgers turned up chips were freezing what a waste of money

Really disappointed , for a premium of £11.45 for a cheese burger, i might as well have gone to Mac Donald’s !

Had to reheat because it arrived luke warm at best but my chicken tenders were TINY and the burger was killed with more pickle and sauce than meat. Food was acceptable but it shouldn’t cost £50+ for decent portion sizes for two people.

I ordered a burger, fries, coke and cheesecake. The only items delivered were a cheesecake and a can of coke. Did not receive the burger or fries.

Meat was burnt, burger bread was not toasted (as said in the description), cheesy fries tasted weird (fries were ok it’s just the cheese that tasted weird)

Unfortunately it was a really poor experience tonight, won't be returning again.

If possible to give 0 service I would. Was completely made to feel burdensome. Food was mediocre for typical slap and pickle 0/10 would not return.

Who uses hot mustard on an American style smash burger rather than American mustard?! These guys apparently

If I were to rate S&P out of 10, 1 being the worst burger I’ve ever had, 5 being a Big Mac and 10 being the best burger I’ve ever had, this is 11. The only thing that annoys me is the amount of time it takes for delivery and the crazy prices. Would recommend but only for a treat due to the price.

The burger of dreams! I'd had a craving for a proper burger and fries for a while and had been looking for somewhere in Leeds. This place did not disappoint. The double patty beef, cheese, BBQ sauce and bacon burger with onion rings in a soft bun was exactly the thing I needed. The loaded fries: vegan hoisin duck and the chicken kiev ones were both outrageously good. It was in a pub so order at the bar. There was a full side of vegan / vegi burgers so I think plenty of choice for anyone.

Atmosphere, great, quality of food great, price.... Daylight robbery, unreal. £15.00 for a burger X two, + two drinks £40.00. No thanks I'll go to Forde and have a Michelin star meal! Gone toooo far there S&P.

** Order edited - please see end of review. I only really post reviews if somewhere has been particularly amazing or I’ve had a bad experience. Please see below bad experience if you’re thinking of ordering from here via Uber Eats. Last night I placed an order at Slap & Pickle. I waited 1hr10 for delivery (which is fine - it’s Sat night). When the food arrived, I’d received the wrong order. Again, I understand this happens. However, getting hold of Slap and Pickle and rectifying this was a nightmare. There is no phone number for them. Uber Eats was an automated recording saying I didn’t have an active order so I wouldn’t be put through to them. I had to go via The King’s Arms (who were extremely helpful, though again their number wasn’t connecting so I had to use Instagram) to get in touch with S&P. The manager basically said the Uber driver had stolen my food first time around, which was why it was late as they’d had to remake it, and the second time the wrong order was brought. Everything on this order was loaded with jalapeños, which I’m intolerant to, so I couldn’t even attempt to eat what had been sent. The manager said I’d have to discuss with Uber Eats and they would not send out another order. Whilst their food is quite nice, it’s sooo overpriced, and absolutely no way could I afford to place another order and then try to get a refund. It should be S&Ps responsibility to put their customers first and contact Uber Eats. Instead I wasted 2 and a half hours of my Saturday evening and ended up with no food. The manager said he would try to contact Uber and would get back to me. He didn’t. This isn’t the first time this has happened to me either. I ordered a dessert once that didn’t turn up & just had to go without as there was no way of contacting S&P. Obvs that’s not as bad as not being able to eat at all though, hence I did not leave a review that time. & just to add, I had a £12 voucher for Uber Eats as I’d never pay full price for S&P. I imagine most people can’t afford full price in these times. Overall, so disappointed with both S&P and UberEats. Be warned! Much better to place an order via an actual restaurant and via PayPal to cover you. Absolute farce, extremely poor communication, & left with no food. Thanks all involved 👍🏼 **Have added extra stars as Zoe @ S&P contacted me following my review. Customer service from Zoe was excellent and I feel much better now about the above incident. Really appreciate the help here and feel satisfied with the resolution. Will continue to order from S&P. Thanks Zoe x

Kitchen manager is very professional

Spent £55 on a delivery order that got both burger orders wrong, three portions of cold chips (even though we live just round the corner) and someone's hair in the chicken wings. They get one star for the chicken tenders not being wrong, cold, or with added hair.

Great pub, nice, friendly service, completely the opposite of what it used to be like 30 years ago!

Used to be 5* but has really gone downhill in the last 3-6 months. Orders are always very late, the last 3 times we have ordered the food has taken twice as long as stated, and the food was cold. Used to be very consistent - something has changed and not for the better. Really disappointed as it was top notch food. Won’t be ordering again ☹️

We used to order from this place every week. Last 3 orders (£60-£80 worth) in a row we have had missing items ranging from missing cheese dips to missing a whole burger and issues such as unmelted cheese. This place has really gone downhill, won't be ordering from here again.

Just collected a personal cheesus and some buffalo tenders the tenders were burnt dry small and inedible no sauce either chucked them in the bin absolutely disgusting food . I spend a fortune in this place will never eat there again or order again

Very busy, full of people with young kids many taking up several tables. Only available seats were wet (either kids spilling drinks or worse apparently) Decent selection of beers but not the atmosphere I want in a pub unfortunately

We ordered from Slap & Pickle last Thursday night. When we arrived to pick up the order, a member of bar staff in the pub first told me that the order couldn’t be found. I showed them the confirmation etc, they asked again in the kitchen, then told us it would be minimum 30-40 minutes delayed. We asked if it would be easier for the kitchen to just cancel the order and refund us, and when the member of staff went to the kitchen to ask, we received notification on the app that the order had been cancelled, and since it was ‘in progress’ we would be charged anyway. We asked the bar staff if we could talk to someone from Slap & Pickle about this, they said that wouldn’t be possible, and seemed very reluctant to go back into the kitchen. We walked around the back where takeaway orders are picked up, and spoke to a cook. I could see why the bar staff didn’t want to push it any further. He was immediately standoffish, borderline confrontational, telling us none of the debacle was his problem. Two other delivery drivers came, and all of their orders were delayed or cancelled. The attitude of the staff was shocking. I am so reluctant to review a local business negatively, but this experience was really disappointing. We certainly won’t be returning.

It didn't even turn up!! They cancelled after an hour!!

Ordered delivery, only to have the order accepted and pushed back 3 times. After an hour order was cancelled. No phones answered, and now have to wait on refund as card charged.

I felt like I was starving to death and was scrolling deliveroo for what felt like hours...until I found this place. I got a vegan baconator burger and cheesy fries (upgraded to cheesy bacon fries- you legends 😉 ). I've never felt as happy as I did eating this, so fresh and delicious. Will definitely try dining in sometime too, fab stuff guys.

Had the most amazing burger and fries at the king arms in Horsforth tonight. I am so fussy about burgers etc ( to the extent I don’t ever order them) and having been convinced these were different to others I did order and the burger and fries were epic!! I will be back. Thank you they were delicious. . 😊

Don't listen to the poor reviews, I'm hard to please, even with the poor taxi service to get my meal home the burgers and chips are awesome! Thank you guys ❤️

Very disappointing, I ordered through deliveroo. Ordered the baconator and what I received in no way resembled what was advertised on their menu in both appearance and taste. The pattys were dry and tasteless I didn't notice any special sauce the lettuce looked old, discoloured and was soggy. The only thing this burger did for me was leave a bad aftertaste in my mouth.

Burgers are top draw. Chips are soggy. 'Cheese sauce' is a white sauce with minimal cheese melted in, a dissapointing departure from actual cheese. The burgers are too good to miss though. Update March '22 - Tried again and the chips were overcooked this time, so much that they were like chewy hollow crisps.

Do not try this place if you like slap and pickle. This place offers dry luke warm burgers and soggy luke warm chips. They often don't give you your drinks, most orders I've had here have let me down and I no longer enjoy the slap and pickle brand.

Okay burgers but service and quality is poor. Ordered from here twice now and both times were really disappointing. First time was click and collect as they were posting on socials about how much money the big delivery companies take from them. Had to stand outside a dark back door of a pub waiting for the food and then someone just appeared and shoved a bag at me and disappeared. When I got back it turned out they'd missed a few things from the order that we paid for and put someone's meat burger in our all vegetarian order so tried to call just to let them know. No-one picked up and text messages were ignored. Got a reply hours later saying i'd get a refund. No refund ever came, so had to ask them again. Eventually weeks later I get a refund. Decided to give them another try a while later. Second time we tried delivery to see if it was any better. Again they missed a few things we paid for and again no communication. The chips were completely cold, not even slightly warm and rubbery and had a weird soapy taste to them, seemed like they were cooked hours ago and left to go cold. Onion rings also completely cold and soggy and tasted bad. Burgers were the only half decent thing but were only slightly warm so still not that great. Had to throw everything but the burgers away it was that bad. They really need to start checking orders before they go out.

Went for lunch today First of all I just want to say the food is amazing! BUT! We were absolutely disgusted by one of the members of staff (long datk hair in pony tail) She clearly wasn't well and working behind the bar sweating coughing and sneezing never once did she cover her mouth, and after blowing her nose never once did she use hand sanitizer! It was absolutely disgusting we were sat waiting and praying that she didn't serve us our food. My husband even waited until she went into the back so he could be served by someone else. I do think with everything that is going on at the moment this was appalling!! We couldn't leave fast enough!!!

I had the 6oz cheesus burger with smoky bacon and it was exceptional, if your willing to pay more than maccies prices I one hundred percent recommend as it’s well worth it

As a lover of burgers, I can confidently say the burgers at S&P are worthy of a five star review, these guys don't play games with their burgs. They stack em high and make em fresh and let me tell you, they are naughty. But I have to say, you'll go there for the burgies, but return for the fries. The absolute filthiest fries I've ever had, in all the best ways. And what most impresses me, what would make me review this joint six stars if I could, is the fries are V shaped, meaning all the toppings and dirty bits on those fries just stays on em, you get a perfect bite every time. Just go, seriously, you won't be disappointed.
