Sizzling China in Plymouth

Well what can I say, Our food was over an hour late. We ordered our food at 6pm and it arrived at 8.20 pm. Our prawn toast was really rubbery and cold, the chips had gone cold, and tasted like cardboard. My green curry had a layer of oil on the top, and there was more liquid than food. My husband had chilli beef and it was really tough. I called them twice to ask where our food was, and both times I was told that our food was on the way, which was a total lie!!! *Placed a review on just eat but it mysteriously disappeared*

Ordered from here for the first time after searching for a new place to get a takeaway. Would highly recommend. Every dish was fantastic, really good portions and great taste! Finally found a new place to order again from and looking forward to our next order already! Thank you!

We ordered for collection, everything was ready and being bagged up on arrival which was great as we could just pick it up and get going! The woman at the counter was lovely too. All of our food was delicious and nothing was missing (which is an issue we've had at many other chinese places!) and everything was piping hot once we got home. My one complaint is with the crispy lemon chicken that I ordered - it was sat in the lemon sauce which made the batter really soggy (still delicious though)! Would have much preferred to have the sauce in a separate tub. Other than that I have no complaints whatsoever and will definitely be back in the future!

Takeaway.. 5 different and varied dishes - every one of them could have passed for a dessert. Honestly like someone had accidentally dropped a bag of sugar in it. Not nice sadly

The food here was really nice, however the service let it down which was a real shame. I handed a twenty pound note over to the lady and expected change of £4 but instead of handing me my change when I had my hand out waiting, she put it straight into a plastic box on her counter for tips!!! Unbelievably rude, would never go back!

Had the house special the bbq sauce tasted like tomato puree and there was no prawn and I was charged a ridiculous £5 delivery 20p for a bag extra service charge and the food was overpriced and tasteless won't order from here again rather have a Iceland curry

Nowhere near as good as it used to be. Reconstituted chicken, tasteless meat and no prawns in the special curry. Won’t be rushing back, which after 10 years of regular custom is a shame.

Came to Plymouth on holiday and first night we decided on Chinese. Ordered 4 main dishes, was cooked very quickly. The food was delicious, big portions, could not fault. We will be ordering again when we go back to Plymouth.

We use them every time. The delivery us super fast, their food is the beat you'll ever try. Honestly, they really are a genuine Chinese food takeaway with the best Chinese food you will ever have. We never use anyone else now, try them as you won't regret it. Best Chinese in Plymouth.

We ordered 1/4 crispy duck, Singapore noodles, sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style and chicken satay. The food was delivered on time which was the only plus. Duck was ok and a good portion. The noodles were bland with no prawns. Satay chicken thin and watery with no flavour. The pork was vile; fatty and chewy and indistinguishable from any meat we know. Just Eat needs to up its game regarding quality assurance. Why should customers pay for sub quality food AND the extra charge incurred for using Just Eat?

We had Hong Kong style sweet and sour pork, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice and noodles. Everything tasted freshly made, without all the breading that I normally find in the U.S. I was warned by a local family member that it's common in Plymouth for the takeaways to put barbeque sauce on the fried rice, so I asked if they did that. They said yes so we requested ours without the sauce. If I hadn't been told about this by family, I would have been upset over finding bbq sauce in my rice.

Recently under new management. Sizzling China always used to be very good, and we have used them regularly over the last 15 years. However, their sauces, eg sweet &sour and plum sauce, now lack any subtlety and are just over the top, ruining the dishes. A great shame as they have expanded their menu range. They have also restricted their loyal customer discount voucher scheme. Sorry but we won’t be going back unless we hear it has improved

We absolutely love their food. We ordered curry, rice, chips, pancake rolls, quarter of a Duck and Fried dumplings. Well, we always order this and we'll never go anywhere else. The food is absolutely amazing and the prices are good too. We ordered food for my birthday and mentioned it on the phone, they popped a little card in there for us and gave us some free fortune cookies. Their driver is very friendly and chats to you. The lady on the phone is polite and friendly too. Honestly, this is the best Chinese in town (our opinion) and we've never tried anyone else since eating their food. I cannot praise them enough. Very highly recommended ☺

Rang them at 7.45 and I was told it would come in 10 minutes. Rang again at 8.10 and they told me they were still cooking it! Food was nice, delivery driver was apologetic and they threw in some free spring rolls, extra rice and cans of drink but if I'd known it was going to take that long I would've ordered from a different place. I understand they might have been busier than expected but they shouldn't have accepted the order if it couldn't be delivered within their own timeframe.

When it came it was nice and hot, but what I had ordered was completely wrong to when it turned up, the chicken fried rice was not what we expected and wasn't cooked well! I won't be ordering from here again, I thought high of this place as good reviews from others but wasn't good for me

Food was A+ as usual, food was 40mins late after the expected delivery time, phoned 15mins time, lots of apologies and food was with us 1hr 50mins after ordering. Would recommend for standard of food, but not on a Saturday evening!

Did not acknowledge order at all. Pre-paid so couldn't cancel. Had to phone them to confirm and they said they would start cooking now, at the time of collection! Kind of defeats the whole point of ordering online doesn't it? Jade Palace next week!

Fastest delivery we have ever received (within 15 minutes after ordering online)! Delicious food, great value for the price. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and use again! :)

Ordered from here for the first time tonight and was very happy. Was told our delivery would be up to an hour yet came in 15mins! Food was delicious, best chinese we have had in a long time. Will defo be back again soon, thank you!
