One of the best steaks I've had in Plymouth.

Half the menu out of stock. What we chose was ok

Paying £36 for a steak in Plymouth should’ve been something special but my son’s steak was undercooked, chewy and bland (no seasoning). Other people’s meals were cold.

Lovely steak place. Gorgeous mains, great service and nice touch with the 'happy birthday' message.

Ordered 2 steaks from their 50day aged menu today, both of which were certainly not 50 day aged wet or dry, rib eye tough and tastless,very poor quality cut, fillate not much better, paid and left after 2 mouthfuls absolutely discusted what a waste of £100, suggest you find a proper steak house

Jess was great, always helpful and attentive, we had a slight issue with food timings and she was more than helpful and raised issue with manager, who rectified it to us Great experience

The food was incredible and came out quickly. The waitress was too busy chatting for over 15 minutes to 2 customers, whilst other customers including ourselves were waiting to pay the bill. We had to ask another waitress to get the bill for us in the end

Absolutely excellent. Really recommend this restaurant, 10/10 on everything. Will take a couple of days to shed the extra Llbs, plenty of games of squash.

Nikki was amazing as she always is whenever she serves us. We have a 9month old and we bring him here often, nikki always seems to be serving us at the time. She is amazing with our little boy and nothing is ever to much trouble. Always has a smile on her face and She goes above and beyond her role and is a credit to your company.

We had amazing evening with delicious food . Or sharing steak was delicious and filet steak cooked to perfection

I’m been coming here for 7 years spend lots of money but won’t be coming back. I ordered a 160z rib-eye medium rare, it come out blue cooked barely 1 millimetre each side was very raw and chewy I couldn’t eat it, I explained this to the young waitress, that this is very rare I ordered medium rare, and for a minute we argued the toss she stating it’s medium when clearly not! with everybody on the table agreeing with me, after she walked away I asked the other waitress and she said that I was right and offered to put it back on the grill, by that time my food was cold and I didn’t feel like eating it, with no apology I was made to feel uncomfortable by the first waitress for not wanting it anymore and was still charged 50% for my meal when I only eat a quarter of my steak, not good enough.

Bo was absolutely a fantastic waitress. Very positive and bubbly. Nothing was of any trouble and she took great care of us. A credit to the brand. Thank you Bo. Hannah and Woodie

Absolutely incredible experience here. We came in for lunch and were greeted warmly. Our server, Eva L, was extremely friendly and a perfect example of what a waitress should be. She interacted with us perfectly, welcomed us and engaged with my son which means the world to us. The food was perfection. We cannot wait to come back again. Best experience we’ve ever had.

Nice steak but a bit overpriced,I didn't enjoy the giant prawn at all,it tasty powdery? Nice restaurant with views of the water.

Not a fair review on atmosphere as I visited on a quiet lunchtime but was clean,tidy and well presented. Squid starter a tad overdone for me as the coating was VERY crunchy and the Squid a little over chewy but went down well. Pork 'Tomahawk' wasn't, it was a pork chop!. This becomes a Tomahawk when the bone is left untrimmed and over long. This said, it was a sizable chunk of excellent, well flavoured, quality pork perfectly cooked. Crushed new potatoes weren't, they were simply cut in half, again, flavoursome and properly cooked. Red wine sauce for me was far too reduced. Too powerful for the delicate pork so overwhelmed rather than complimented. The side salad I had sounded promising, but alas wasn't. Leaves needed tearing into a more fork friendly size and the stars of the show displayed on top rather than hidden away at the bottom. This salad really needed a dressing to elevate it from just a boring salad. That chunk of pork prevented me indulging in dessert so no comment. In addition I found the cooking times quite extended considering the lack of covers, I sincerely hope they upstaff at busier times! The absolute saving grace was the service from Liz my server, she was a delight! Maybe a tad overfriendly for some people with a lot of "darlin's" and "my loves" replacing the Sirs and Madams but as I said I found her delightful and efficient. Top question, would I go again? Yes, in a heart beat.

First time at Miller & Carter our experience was amazing and Jess was first class.

Paul was out waiter, what can I say absolutely outstanding, and asset to the team, he was always smiling, having a good laugh with us and everyone as he walked passed the tables, had the same birthday as my partner, and we all shared a joke about all being Libras. Service was amazing, food was stunning, first time here and definitely won't be the last. Steak cooked to perfection, complemented very well with the wine we had too.

Amazing as always, starter of calamari came out but was tasteless and chewy. Said to the waitress Beth who sorted it right away and was really lovely about it! Great evening

Undercooked steak and all cold in general when I got it... Only didn't return it as had something booked after the meal which I couldn't be late for... Also margarita was absolutely terrible. It supposed to be medium... Picture attached.

We were recently looked after by Marion and then later Liz, during an early dinner at Miller & Carter Plymouth. What wonderful service from both of them, and our food was great too! They both went out of their way to ensure that my wife’s food was suitable for her food allergies (allergies, not a lifestyle choice, so we always need to check when eating out), which meant she could enjoy her meal without any doubts or concerns. Having ‘tried’ to eat at another restaurant chain elsewhere the week before, to be told they “couldn’t tell” us what was in their food, it was a pleasure to dine at Miller & Carter. The calamari was seasoned exquisitely, our steaks were tasty, well rested and cooked as ordered, and our desserts finished off the evening perfectly. We’ll definitely be returning soon! The only small negative was the decision of, I’m assuming the duty manager, to discuss an issue a previous customer had contacted them about, in earshot of everyone. 🤦🏼‍♂️ We’d thoroughly recommend a visit.

Table of 8 ,as always the food was perfect had a mixture of steaks ,ribs some fish dishes ..everybody enjoyed their chosen meal , Natalie our waitress was brilliant ,patient , attentive,had a sense of humour and a real people person ,I'm a waitress myself have worked in the same establishment for twenty years so quite critical of service standards,she is Def an asset to your restaurant.

What a fantastic evening! Thank you so much for a lovely evening celebrating my friend’s brother-in-law’s birthday. Eva L looked after us and was absolutely delightful. She was efficient, warm and friendly and took care of us exceptionally well. All the staff who attended to us were lovely. I especially loved the way one particular member of staff who we hadn’t seen before (I didn’t catch her name) brought our water over to us and said ‘good evening everyone’. She didn’t just dump it down without a word. Eva L coordinated our evening and made sure we had everything we needed. There was a lovely atmosphere and we were lucky to have a round table, which enabled us to chat easily with each other. My friend has mobility issues and also needs a padded seat, which was provided. The restaurant was accessible and easy for my friend to negotiate with her mobility scooter. The food was delicious and our entire party was delighted with their food choices. Thank you again, but special thanks must go to lovely Eva L, who cared for us so well. Thank you Eva, you’re an asset to Miller and Carter!

We can highly recommend the M&C at Plymouth Liz gave excellent service, we arrived at 5.30pm, wanted to have a great meal but leave by 6.30pm to catch a ferry to Brittany. The food was excellent and expectations were exceeded!

Staff were very professional, making us welcome and very comfortable, even allowing for my mobility problems. The one mistake was put right immediately with no fuss, and food was delicious. Our waitress/steak adviser was the consummate host and made us feel special. We will be back.

Really bad communication, arrived and waiting 15 minutes to then get told they didn't have it in stock. They could have let me know when I arrived. Up to a 50 min wait for food. Asked for water and charge £5 a bottle without asking if I wanted tap water. Table was sticky and dirty

My wife & I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary with our first visit to Miller & Carter Plymouth. The food was fantastic, and Paul our waiter was brilliant. Very attentive, funny and never stopped.

Nikki the waitress was 10/10. Politeness, attentiveness, knowledge of drinks and steaks. An absolute pro and the standard of how the very best in customer service should be. Exceptional.

Surprisingly bad compared to other M&Cs I have experienced. Waited 20 minutes for menus, 30 minutes for drinks, and 1 hour 15 minutes for food, which was cold. Onion loaf looked like it had been salvaged from another plate. Steak decidedly average. This was a Saturday night, and the manager apologised as they were having ‘issues’ - fair enough, but if you can’t handle the volumes don’t take the bookings. The reputational damage isn’t worth it. Big shout out to Eva, who wasn’t our server, but who when asked did a really excellent job of solving our problems - well done and thank you!
