Far East Kitchen in Plymouth

This take away has to be the Best around by far,I had lost of others from Plymouth but they are Not in the same league .The Taste is blinding the Portions are large the prices are great too.Yes Fantastic all round, Unfortunately I live at Bigbury so I only have it when I pop into Plymouth.

My local take away does a great job and on the whole does smashing food and is pretty consistent in quality. We very rarely have a complaint. Parking can be a nightmare if youre collecting

Ordered the Munchie box, really gutted it was so so salty it was inedible. When I called to explain they just told me that I needed to ask for less salt next time- I’ve never ordered from them before so how would I know that for this time? Sadly won’t be ordering from them again.

On arrival I was told I could only pay cash (which is not correct) and was advised to go down the road to go to a cash point and draw some out, rather than pay by card. Luckily for me I did have just enough cash for the transaction so I begrudgingly paid for my takeaway. I was told it was a half an hour wait for food, so I waited. Two customers later another customer came in, ordered less than me and paid by card!!!! Why was she allowed to pay for her takeaway by card and I had to pay cash ???. When I get home I opened my takeaway only to find it was awful, very watery, uncooked onions, very few peas and only 7 king prawns. Needless to say I won't be going back there after frequenting the place for years. Not happy!

Local Chinese and it never fails me, I don’t get the same thing every time though Would not recommend the crispy shredded beef.

After being let down by our Chinese, Far East rescued our evening, no wait, food fresh and hot. Will definitely be back - thank you

Had the munchie share box . Lots in there but far far too salty . Could only eat a few bits so waste of money

Ordered food 90 mins ago,no food and can't get through!!not ok

This used to be my go to chinese s it was always spot on. Unfortunately the last couple romes I have used you the quality has gone down each time, especially the roast duck and plum sauce. Our meal turned up hour and 3/4 late after booking it at 5 for 7pm.

This is our go to Chinese takeaway. Portions are very good and the food isn't too greasy. Prices seem to be climbing up everytime they print a new menu. But the cost of everything is going up.

Ordered beef kung po battered delivered some sort of beef stew.

Dear oh dear. 2 hr max delivery promise - arrived 2H40M later. Prawn Toasts - soggy & inedible - binned Sweet & Sour chicken in batter - oozed fat - disgusting - binned Mixed noodles & beansprouts - vinegary flavour - inedible - binned What a horrible meal. Whole experience was dire. Will not be returning- EVER !!

Placed an order at 530pm, told there was a 2 hour wait, we were ok with that....after a couple of phone calls and excuses we eventually get our order 3hrs 10minures later. Not acceptable, you just lost a customer. Keep this up and you'll be losing many more.

The food from these guys and ladies is a straight 10/10, customer service also a 10. Never had anything but good food from here. We are foodies and order from a lot of different Chinese takeaways but this place is every time amazing. Honest delivery times too. Salt and chilli dishes, rice and crispy chilli beef along with various other things we've tried is truly unmatched in plymouth. 10/10 highly recommended.

Food used to be really good, unfortunately now it’s tasteless and over-priced

Yuk!! This place has gone down hill... Been ordering from this takeaway for years, will not be eating from here again. Food took almost 2 hours to arrive, and when it did I wish It hadn't. Over cooked prawns, watery curry, over cooked egg fried rice. This is the 2nd time in a row the food has been at this standard.

Been going here for years now they never put a foot wrong it’s always bang on with perfect portion size no skimping, all the tastes and flavours and more than a reasonable price for the quality you get. The crispy chilli chicken is a must try if you you ain’t had it seriously give it a try you won’t be disappointed

The munchie box sends me to an ethereal plane of existence, after a long heavy week working a fat scran from the far East kitchen will send any man or woman to an extreme state of euphoria. I don't know what I did in my previous life to exist in the same city as this restaurant. Missus is happy, saved my weekend Xx

Best Chinese I've had in ages ,and the chips were lovely too

Have been ordering from here for a while sometimes it takes a while to get food but ordered last week took nearly 3hrs after I ordered to get my order. The chips were horrible never normally and it was cold. Will never be ordering again

Food is really tasty but sadly this place is let down as we have had quite a few orders that have been wrong when delivered and delivery is very unreliable. We have several times stopped going to this chinese and then tried again 6 months later hoping for improvement in service but always disappointed. Example tonight told 60-90 mins for delivery, understandable on a friday but called them after 1 hour 40 mins to be told it is the next one to be cooked and will be another half hour so that's over 2 hours! Had we been told this initially we would have gone elsewhere! Frustrating as the food is good when it is correct and on time!

Terrible service - say it will take an hour. When asked after that hour where the good is the answer is ‘..at least another half an hour - we are a bit busy.’ Really? Get a grip and be honest - if it’s 90 minutes or more say so. Telephone orders should be a mainstay in this day and age.

Absolutely shocking!!!!!! ordered food for delivery, seems they are having a different person on the phone every time with no experience not able to get orders correct, 3 times we had to get them to correct our order as it was sent out wrong the first time and missing items the second time, by the time the 3rd lot turned up we lost our appetite. FAR EAST KITCHEN if you do read your reviews you lot need to pull your fingers out your arses cause you are losing decent customers and your are going down hill fast, this will be the last time we ever use you as for the past 3 orders we have had from you it has been wrong everytime, to missing items to wrong stuff being delivered...! Massive thumps up to the delivery drivers though as they take the brunt of the abuse and still keep smiling 👍🏼👍🏼

Went in and ordered 2 chicken curries with rice. Guy bought it out to us: thought great, lovely service: got home, found there was no rice!!!! Went back, asked for my rice which i didnt receive and was told that i would need to pay extra. It took so long to sort this problem with our food out, that in the process we ended with a parking ticket as well!! Will not be coming here again

Been told this is a lovely Chinese takeaway so we tried it tonight. I am absolutely disappointed we ordered food at 7:30 never got told how long it would be. Called again to check on order at 20:45 to be told it had been freshly cooked and was going with next driver. When food arrived it was very clear it wasn't fresh chips soggy and anything battered was over cooked. When calling back to complain I was put on hold while they served someone at the counter!! shocking service won't ever eat here again and gonna definitely spread the word 🤮🤮

LOVE far east kitchen, only downside is so does everyone else! 😂 the food is lovely and they do gorgeous crab claws and seaweed, which my husband loves! I do tend to collect if I order from here, because with the popularity of far east kitchen comes a long wait on deliveries.

Unfortunately didnt get to eat my food as phoned at 6.15 told 30 mins arrived at 6.50 but told it wouldnt be ready intill atleast 7...had to leave as at work shame wont bother again

Used to be a decent Chinese but it seems anytime it gets busy they just panic and lose track of time and orders.

Great little place over in Devonport for your fast food carry-out. They deliver as well and it has always been hot when we got it. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Were told our order would take 1 and 1/2 hours, end up waiting just over 2 and a half hours in the end! Poor customer service, not only that, all 3 portions of chips were completely wet and soggy!! Won't come back

Ordered to collect and was told that my food would be ready in an hour so walked to the restaurant and waited half an hour until we were told that our receipt hadn’t even been put into the kitchen, will not be ordering from here again

You're told that it will be within the hour, but seems other staff who take the order can't tell the time. Would have been quicker to walk into town, eat at a restaurant and then walk home.

Food is always cooked fresh never disappointing. customer service was great I think there is a new member of staff answering the phone she was very polite and friendly not like the previous women.

Had to wait two hours for a small order of food on a quiet Tuesday. When we phoned to ask where our order was it sounded like they had forgotten it. No discount offered, no free extras. Food was nice, but took too long.

By far the worse customer service, never have I been so discusted. The woman on the other end of the phone was so rude and got frustrated with me just because she didn't know where I lived, even though I explained a lot of times! she just spoke to me as if I was stupid. Got told it would be a hours wait and then waited THREE hours for it to be delivered... Absolutely shocking service.

Love this takeout! Never order from anywhere else! The quality and flavours here are 100% the best in Plymouth! My favourite is the crispy chilli beef and the chicken in pineapple!

Lovely food. Have been coming here over twenty years and never had any issues at all. It is very popular so sometimes you have to wait for your food, but that is a good sign.

We used to enjoy takeaways from the FEK but a couple of years ago we became unhappy with the time it took to deliver food or even order it by phone and pick it up compared with if you walked in off the street and ordered. Also ,we had experiences of orders being missed from our deliveries. Around at some friends a few days ago they decided to order food for us all from the FEK. However, the same problems were encountered again - late delivery and orders missing. The food wasn't too bad but the experience could have been better.

New favourite Chinese. Recommend picking up on a weekend as deliveries can take up to 2 hours. Generous portions, great menu, friendly staff. Must try!

Ordered at 17:40 at 19:00 rang them asking about order, told has not been cooked yet. I asked why told they had walk-ins and they come first your order will be done when it is done.

Food was great a year ago and it has got a little worse each time we order, also always forgetting something off order and food being over cook or burnt! If I wanted over cooked burnt food I would cook myself.

Food can be hit or miss here. But is generally very good. I have had some very oilly/greasy dishes though. Service is fast
