Plates and glasses piled up everywhere and the food was freezing cold🤢

Great place to go to, good food, wrong pizza but soon got changed, no problemo, go again.

Worst Wetherspoons,poor bar service,absolute joke.Same every week!! Why do we have to accept this,same every week,absolute joke!!!!

It was Good Friday when we caught the bus over to Chorley to walk round Astley Park and have lunch at Wetherspoons. It was busy as their pubs often are, but we weren't very impressed that it took at least three quarters of an hour to order and receive our meals. I had small fish, chips and mushy peas and my husband had the large portion – we had no problem with the meals and enjoyed them. I don't know what had happened, either the Manager had underestimated how many staff they would need or he had difficulty finding enough staff to work efficiently. There were other people asking what had happened to their meals.

This is a nice pub for an evening with friends. Or a nice pub lunch. Food usual pub fair but good quality. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Disabled facilities good. However due to their convenience on the ground floor they are used by everyone. Suggest they have a disabled key lock fitted.

Appalling service, went in on Saturday lunch time, ordered off the app. Staff were rude advising I needed to pick something else off the menu as they didn’t have what I wanted in. Extremely long wait time for the food not once advised of the wait time. Plates piled high on empty tables, not being cleared. I won’t be returning and would not recommend.

Nice enough. Staff were friendly. Drinks, however, were a little weak tasting, and husband wasn't impressed with his pint. It's not like him to leave a drink!

Really well priced, generally decent bar foods, with not long to wait. Plenty of tables and a lift to upstairs toilets. Endless tea and coffee makes it really popular.. I tend to take my elderly mother there for a breakfast.. All good.. 👍

Very rude staff member rcalled Linda, I think. Should not be dealing with the pubic. Tables full of dirty plates and glasses. When I asked if there would be a chance to get one cleaned. The staff member (Linda) said wait I'm toooo busy. This is what happens on a Tuesday I can't do everything. We cleaned our own table with wet wipes then ordered with the app. Food arrived stone cold no apology. We asked for the manager but they never came near. What an embarrassment this pub is.

Shocking service young girl slamed plates on table and asked you want anything else but ti scared to ask for anything. Was watching her all the time I was there and I could lip read her swearing 🤬

Great pub as drinks and food are cheap quality of food and service is good and a nice atmosphere but it does get very busy at times also has an upstairs seating area with a lift for disabled people.

Large Wetherspoons with an upstairs. Unfortunately, it was very busy on a Saturday, so there were no tables for us to have a meal. Next time...

Smashing breakfast, hot ant perfectly cooked. Lady serving it was very nice, even asked if everything was ok when she came back for the empty plate - never had that in a Wetherspoons before. 😄

Went in before a school show just to keep warm as a freezing cold day. It was a Saturday so very busy but was very happy with it and will go again during the week when quieter.

Just been to Wetherspoons ordered two grilled chicken burgers when they came they were slimy and inedible and the chips were cold won't be going back

Rather chaotic behind the bar, resulting in a lengthy wait. I had the Caledonia burger with a very good IPA. The burger was okay, but the whisky sauce was cooler than tepid. Onion rings and chips were fine. Quite an impressive selection of ales tempting any real ale enthusiasts.

Upstairs is nice good looking out but you still have to go downstairs to order . Food ok as you expect from pub grub . Overcharged but corrected when informed. Good pit stop

Firstly the clientele is like the cast of Shameless, one of whom threatened to headbutt me when I asked her to turn down the loud music she was playing in her phone. I waited 25 mins for the medium rare sirloin steak I ordered. It wasn’t medium rare and it definitely wasn’t sirloin. It was chewy and fatty and not pleasant at all. This was my first and list visit to this establishment.

It's a spoons, but a good one! Good prices and nice place

Poached eggs which are usually great were forgotten and served 45 minutes later as hard build eggs. Then told to wait another 30 minutes when was their mistake. Not good to offer a refund....just re-do the order ASAP. Not great Get your act together . Disappointed loyal customers.

Food was excellent but didn’t think they have enough staff

Good value with the food and drink offers, good service too. Have called a few times over the past few months, it's always been busy but that tells you they're doing something right. Always a good choice of beer too.

Visited for coffee late afternoon & evening / night time for few pints of cask ,guest ale never eaten there but kitchen busy & seems few issues there. Bar staff young, polite, friendly, helpful. Commercial DJ Saturday nights regularly. Good prices generally. Managed well including security staff who make their presence known without intimidation or arrogance; they are polite, friendly & capable. Good night out in a modern pub setting for all age groups.

Guy who served me pretty clueless about the IPA's being promoted. Asked for Devil's Bridge got Punk and the second time got the worst pint of Doom Bar likely to have. Decent enough place with good atmosphere.

The restaurant was reasonably busy with a good atmosphere. One of our party used a wheelchair and there were no significant issues with that. The lift to the second floor worked well for the wheelchair and all staff were friendly. The fish and chips was excellent and the fish was fresh fried. Well done to every one concerned and we will be back.

Always a great way to finish a night out!!!

Jorvic and Madge decided to visit Booths in Chorley so I decided to pop into Spoons next door for an early pint. A typical Spoons layout but I'll give them 5* for the quality and range of their real ales. Had a Butcombe brewery seasonal beer for £2.55 less 50p with a CAMRA voucher. Chris Moose, a 4.1% ale. Excellent. Very pleasant visit. There is a second bar upstairs with more limited drinks selection.

Food arrived but was cold service was no existence plates just shoved in front of you kids around 11or12 causing trouble at the front door bad experience all round will not be returning to that witherspoon again

Food needs to be a lot better for the price they are now charging. Meals are a lot nicer, more choice and cheaper in the market.

One of the 'better' wetherspoons I've been to

First night out in Chorley and we started here, the place wasn't particularly busy but the staff were really slow and 2 of them were just putting glasses away the whole time we stood there. We waited atleast 10 mins to be served but when it came to our turn a lad that had literally just walked up to the bar got served before us, this lad and the bartender clearly knew each other well as they chatted on about being out last weekend, the bartender knew we were before him because I said hi to him as soon as we got to the bar so we just left and went to the next pub.

The food off the Festive menu was really good. Fully recommend it.

no change from the last visit

Ordered 2 medium well done steaks with peppercorn sauce.. Came with steak eggs n peppercorn sauce so sent back still had egg on plate when come back and both steaks one medium one medium rare & was really really fatty. Had a few steaks from spoons but this was really bad this time. 🙁

just had the absolute pengest burger known to man. and the chips weren't hard for once 😁😁

Great food, great price,good service in pleasant surroundings.

My mum and I took my niece and nephews there for a bite to eat. My nephew is 5 and needed occupying. There weren't any crayons for him to colour his activity sheet. I went to the bar and asked and the staff there had an "I can't be bothered attitude." He just said we don't have any. As I was walking towards the stairs another child came up to me and said she knew where the crayons were, she then took me to them and said we found them hidden on a chair behind the table.

A buzzing Friday afternoon today and service with a smile from a lovely lady behind the bar. A pleasant atmosphere and brilliant prices.

I like the place. But, what does my head in is the throwing of the empty bottles into the bin by bar staff, it sounds so loud in the seating area. It damn lazy and annoying.

The food is very good, only some of the staff who work there are rude and without saying anything, they decide to move all my things to another table, and come me to my wife in a rude manner.

Usually very convenient for early morning breakfasts but not when the staff are loud and constantly shouting across the floor to customers.

Went in today couldn't believe it had gone downhill so quickly from last time I visited madras curry couldn't explain in words what it was I got chicken roganjosh same cheese chips n bacon called loaded fries disgusting next time I visit if there is a next time I'll stay on coke n ice surely it can't go wrong

No staff serving upstairs, given food and cutlery however the cutlery was filthy and still had waste food from someone else's meal.

This is the first Wetherspoon’s I’ve been in where the service is awful! I’ve waited 45 mins for a meal and, up to now, 15 mins waiting for a manager! Defo won’t be back here!!

Great food. Just your typical spoons service, staff are great but the stock and technical issues they have are their only set back. Always a table free. Definately a regular place to go.
