The staff is super hospitable and warm! From the moment I stepped in, till I left, the staff was so prompt, attentive and made me feel welcomed. I ordered green curry (veg), coconut rice and lemon iced tea. Everything was delicious. Loved the food. The pleasant staff interaction made the food more enjoyable. I remember going to places where food was good but because the staff was rude or unnecessarily sarcastic or weird, it spoiled the whole eating experience and I couldn't enjoy food. But Simply Thai is Simply Amazing! Thank you for the lovely experience.

Delicious food and quick service. I had the green curry with chow mein noodles and I was very happy with it. Small and pleasant restaurant. Management changed in September 2024. No delivery available but there is a discount if you come in to pick up a takeaway.

I almost cried when I tasted the Laksa, it was that good. Best I have had in the uk hands down. Tastes similar to the ones I would get in Malaysia. Super delicious. I even don’t mind the floating coriander seeds, everything is perfectly balanced. The mango sticky rice is amazing too, and very fast service. 10/10

Pretty authentic Thai restaurant since it is operated by Thai. Staff is super friendly but quite new to the business. Takes a bit time to order the food. Food is delicious. Give you a sense of family business vibe.

Purley on front of house, I'll never return here. We were first in at just gone 12pm. She gave us menu's then went away leaving us for at least 15 minutes refusing to even look in the direction of the only customers. After someone came in to order takeaway I ended up putting my hand up to get her attention! This didn't work! I swiveled around to face her, she still didn't react, there's only her and two of us in quite a small room. It was one of the chiefs in the kitchen who actually told her to serve the customer! There were no pleasantries, all she spoke was to repeat the items ordered. When the starters arrived... 3 minutes later the main course also arrived!!! Which were put on the table with no more words than the names of the dishes! When I paid, the only thing she said when she placed the card machine on the counter the wrong way around, was can you see! No "thank you", no "goodbye". Love Thai food but won't be returning here.

The food was nice, but nothing special. Fairly cheap, at about 8.95 for a curry, but you get what you pay for. You also have to pay to add rice to a green or red curry- i may be wrong but i think that rice should come with it automatically. They gave us the wrong starter, didn’t take it away when they gave us the right one, and then charged us for it :( i didn’t personally have the pad thai, but apparently it was not good. Out of 6 dishes ordered, 3 were wrong! :( The waitress was friendly and apologetic when the orders were wrong, and gave us free prawn crackers. Overall, seemed like a nice vibe but wouldn’t bother going again.

Simple small restaurant with all of the standard items on the menu. Pad Thai was a little disappointing. Roast duck red curry was very good. Server spoke limited English. Prices were reasonable.

Small, simple Thai restaurant that does all the favourites. We had takeaway and enjoyed spring rolls, tempura prawn, chicken curry and papaya salad, accompanied by lots of steamed rice. With glasses of wine while we waited for the takeaway, the bill came to a very reasonable £54.

Visited here on a work trip. I always try to find a local Thai restaurant that is more cafe style to restaurant as they tend to do more authentic food. Simply Thai did not disappoint! Lovely food at a good price. The pad kee mao was delicious and the Laab had a good spice to it. I wouldn't order the ribs again though, as they were just plain ribs with sweet chilli sauce on them.

Simple place but the taste of the food is simply wonderful!! I ordered a portion of curry's rice with duck and pineapple! certainly the size of the bowl for my gastronomic option is not medium or large, but it was enough for me 😋.The portion chosen by my husband was bigger and sufficient for him (Noodle' soup with pork ribs). The tempera on the tables was a little chilly.

Food was nice enough, nothing special. Didn’t clean our table properly so there was still food on it. Didn’t explain the menu, had to ask to pay, no attention paid to customers at all which I wouldn’t mind if they didn’t add on 10% service charge - there was barely any service. Wouldn’t bother going back.

Super delicious food, the salt and pepper squid was one of the best I've tried! The prices are fair for what you get - from various small soups for around £5 to massive mains for as low as £8! Staff were friendly and kind. The restaurant is quite small with few seats so we did have to take a five minute walk and come back once a seat became free. I will definitely come again. Another little gem discovered.

Ordered on Uber eats and I’ve never left a bad review before but for a £50 order it was the worst portions and quality, the aromatic duck quarter wasn’t enough to make 2 x pancakes , the crab roll was a fake seafood stick in pastry, the special fried rice had no flavour at all. The worst food I’ve ordered would never order again.

Delicious restaurant, usually I take away. The broccolli in blackbean sauce is delicious, and their beef dishes are great. Highly recommend.

Big fan of a BYOB personally so that’s already a great start. Authentic restaurant, staff were nice, prices were decent and the food was lovely! Had a great time here and will be returning in the future.

I’m very picky about my Thai food but simply thai was great! My pad thai was flavourful and fresh so I was pleasantly surprised!

The dine in experience was good but for some reason our Deliveroo portion size was ridiculously small, can barely feed an ant. 11 pound for 3 skinny, dry legs. 8.50 for soup that can fit in teacup. Will not order again.

Ordered 4 dishes and paid and were told it would be a 40 minute wait. We came back and asked if it was ready and they told us at that point they didn’t have one of the dishes we had already paid. We were then told it would be an additional 20 minutes. After an hour and a half we finally were given our food in quite an unfriendly manner. The food was average but the service was poor. And to top it all off we were overcharged.

Decent menu, quick service and really tasty food. Slightly cafe in style rather than a restaurant experience but every table was busy so they’re clearly doing something right. I’d come back again.

The toilet is very cleaned. I love the food especially Pad Thai. I come here every Friday night or weekend. I went there last weekend the Chicken chilli basil and Chicken cashew nuts were not delicious. I think I will go to find another Thai restaurant somewhere else.

I love this place although it hasn't seemed to be as busy lately - maybe just the times I've been there. The food is always so fresh and amazingly complex but satisfying flavours. The family are friendly and welcoming. Absolutely no frills here, and it can be a bit cold as the door opens straight out onto the seat and it is a tiny space, so can be drafty so don't go expecting a warm experience! Take a coat! But the food is well worth the trip and its BYO which always helps when you're on a budget!

Food has always arrived quickly and been delicious. Tom yum soup and red curry is amazing. I dislike the 10% service charge, there's only about seven tables so the wait staff haven't really earned it and if it's for the entire workforce, that should be factored in the proce of the food.

Quite possibly the worst place I've been to. firstly During covid times- not socially distanced. For a place called simply Thai, a lot of the dishes were not actually from Thailand. For example wonton soup and hofun are Cantonese dishes. The curries ordered were so watered down it looked like dishwater and they tried to bulk it out with standard cheap takeaway bamboo shoots. I've never had a tomyum so lacking in spice and taste Before. The wonton soup - the wontons were so flat and meatless I felt like I was just eating dumpling pastry and the sauces for the main course dishes were so watery it didn't stick to the food or add flavour to it at all. Worst of all, everything was drowned in MSG and has left me thirsty and drinking water for hours after we've had our meal. It is very much like takeaway food catered for the British palette and not authentic at all. I want to say you get what you pay for but I've had more authentic and genuine food for the same price elsewhere. They also overcharged the dishes. Wonton soup is £4.50 on the menu but they charged £4.95. Ice tea was served in a 500ml mason jar, filled to the brim with ice and very watered down to taste but charge £2.50. For someone who knows very well how the food should look and taste it's actually very upsetting and insulting to see. A shame because the staff were nice. If you are after authentic Thai food definitely not the place. Tried it. Won't be back.

We have been going to Simply Thai for years. The food is very tasty, despite the portions being small. I ordered a Prawn curry and there were only 4 prawns. los with the prawn Pad Thai only 3 prawns. We ordered on Friday a take away thorough Uber eats much to our disappointment we were missing two dishes. When we called them, the girl on the phone was extremely rude. She said that the order was complete and she implied that I was lying. She said to take it up with Uber. They have certainly lost a good client.

Have been coming here for years. The food is always great!! And not too expensive considering it seems quite authentic. Anything you order is always fab!

This place is a bit of an enigma, because every time I've eaten in-restaurant it's been great, and every order I've had hasn't. In-restaurant the food was really flavourful and fresh tasting and managed to arrive in a timely fashion despite it being quite full. I've ordered for home 3 times, and they've forgotten dishes, arrived late, and the food was kind of watery and weird. Definitely go in person if you want food from here.

Very disappointing considering previous reviews, order hadn't arrived and when calling to query, kept hanging up saying too busy. After 90min and several calls was told cos we kept ringing, order was now cancelled and hung up again. No apology, no refund. Ruined my thai themed evening. Avoid.

Very disappointing- our home delivery meal did not arrive. We gave up waiting after 2 hours. The receptionist claimed the man had been twice to our house and had called us. Not true.
