Simmons Bakers in Welwyn Hatfield

I did not get my order, complaint sent

I’m a regular customer with the simmons company ( have a coffee loyalty card too) and nearly always get a mocha with oat milk on my order. Today i tried to and they denied it and said i was only able to get a latte or regular coffee with oat milk?

What's not to love about Simmons

Always a happy friendly smile from the lovely staff here. Coffee is always perfect. Sausage rolls are a must have, & make sure you get there on a Tuesday for the blueberry muffins!!

Love the three item breakfast bap, such a great way to start the day. Lemon cake is one of the best cakes alongside Victoria sponge - I’m not so keen on a lot of icing which the others have

What an amazing start to the May bank holiday! Recently my family has moved to Welwyn Garden City and they have found this great bakery walking distance from them. Enjoyed every bite and what a great selection of food! A true gem of Welwyn Garden City!! Fully recommended

It's a real treat to have a Simmons local to you. Great choice, staff are pleasant.

The food was meant to arrive at 10:45, but the timing kept being pushed back. We had to leave before it arrived since the timings kept changing and being delayed

Left outside the communal door in the car park area didn’t ring our intercom if it weren’t for a friendly neighbour who picked it up and delivered it to our door we would t have had it ….disgusting delivery service

Today, having gone to Simmons whilst visiting family, I had the pleasure of being served by James. He captured me by his warm, friendly, attentive welcome. Only wanting one crusty roll, he enticed me to buy more with his exceptional up selling skills whereby I was actually benefiting also. Then indecisive about my choice of sweet delights, he encouraged me further. James's excellent customer service and knowledge of his allergins having purchased a product with nuts, making sure I was ok with that only continued to amaze me. I have served many years in customer service and hospitality and this young man is not just a credit to himself but to Simmons also. Thank you James, you are a 🌟.

I visited Simmons Welwyn Garden City today at 16:25 approximately, went in, it wasn’t busy or anything, an elderly lady with light brown hair served us, I was overly polite asked for a chicken roll, and 2 sweets, I was never asked whether or not we want it to eat in or takeaway which is your job to ask not mine to tell you, I am the costumer. I proceeded to ask the lady, is it okay for us to sit here? (At the front not at the back because I respect they close around 17:00) her attitude was appalling, she looked at me and my friend and spoke with such an attitude and said “well not really you paid for takeaway” and I proceeded to say oh okay you didn’t ask if we wanted eat in or takeaway so I told her can we amend this and she had such a miserable attitude, the food was put in bags and my total was £7 and then when we amended so we can sit in changed to £10. With no plates provided whatsoever, the customer service on this place is never inviting, the food and sweets are so good but the customer service and the way they speak is utterly rude. If you are not able to communicate and provide the bare minimum such as a smile, do not work in customer service. I have worked in customer service for years and I can guarantee you this is not what it should be. Be nice to people and polite if anything, you are not doing me a favor. Makes it feel like a chore to see them working here and you’re supposed to be the face of the company. Great food and amazing sweets to bakers and chefs, but front house customer service is -0. Do better!

Asked for no butter in capital letters and still sent with it then told me they won't change it so can't eat the food we paid for

The Cole Green Lane Simmons is quite good, gets a little busy at lunch, but the staff are quick and efficient and for the most part friendly. The Hunters Chicken Focaccia is excellent.

Not clear on how to cancel an order on guest account. Just takes you to ‘can I help you with anything page’ which doesn’t give button to cancel.

Red onions were green and slimy, eggs were covered in paper some how and the baguette was wet and looked like it had been through a mincer

Deliver late due to lack of drivers. Coffees were inside bag so bag and food wet

Chaotic, no clarity where you are supposed to queue, no vegan options

Bacon very under cooked and thick rinds of fat

My food is freezing cold and looks like it’s been made by a 5 year old I want a full refund

Ordered the 3 item breakfast in a white bap twice, both items turned up in a very sparse dry baguette. Even the dog struggled chewing the baguettes as we had left over bread at the end.

The worst ever! No farad in the baguette. The picture shows different. Not again!

Good quality bakers, but more expensive than it's competitors. £2.20 for a sausage roll, for example. Nice jam doughnuts though.

Good food and friendly service. Price are a bit on the higher end but food is good quality. Always a good range if you go before lunch

The reason I have given 3 stars is that they are expensive, and half of the time I go in there they have either run out of rolls, or egg mayonnaise, but on the plus side, they are very nice, and the staff are very helpful, and I will change the star rating, if things do improve.

A nice place to eat. Be it for breakfast, lunch, or a snack, they've got something for you. From rolls and sandwiches to pastries and cakes. I've had the English Breakfast with English breakfast tea. Today I had an Egg & Bacon roll for breakfast. Very tasty. On other occasions I had a cake, a gingerbread man. Eating here is always a joy. The staff are always lovely. I recommend. ^_^

Fresh cakes, rolls and bread etc. Ready made sandwiches and also made to order. Tea/coffee and soft drinks available. Minimal seating indoors a couple of outdoor seats are available.

I have been buying my bacon rolls at Simmons for 30 years , bought 2 this morning and was terrible, bacon was cheap arrested disgusting, and uncooked , my wife also found a little insect I her roll , the money thay charge you would expect decent bacon and no insects!!

Plenty of choice and fairly priced (if not a bargain). Delicious sourdough loaves in a range of types plus all the usual classics. Freshly made biscuits and cakes by the slice to tempt you too! All made locally in Herts.

Was visiting Welwyn Garden City and had missed hotel best western breakfast , decided to take a walk and found this bakers offering breakfast . Very Good Value , lovely breakfast , Good Price and cooked by the lovely girls serving . Will be back again on my next visit Thanks x

Not always the best experience. The staff can seem uninterested in days and at time they can be nice. There should be a variety of items, but their menu always seems to have less items available, and when asked it’s always out of stock. The major concerns I have always had are around the cleanliness. There have been times when I have gone in to find flies near the doughnuts in the window. That has really put me off going to this branch altogether!

Simmons Bakeries round the corner were I live are fantastic and the sturf are always very helpful and very caring and treat you like family and that is way I love going into Simon's and having a Yummy mug of Cupertino coffee and a Yummy treat too!

My son insists we come miles because he feels comfortable and staff are good with him ...he has mental health issues and it's good for him to feel normal ...nice atmosphere good friendly service

Best Simmons around dont know why but the bacon rolls are just better in this one.

5 star for the ambience as it was really good, 2.5 starfor the staff who placed my order (the food was good but not served hot, she assumed that I will take the food to home instead of eating from there), and 1 star for the hospitality as they weren't bothered to clean the table(when I asked,they removed the plates but didn't clean the food waste).
