Fantastic bread - especially harvester farmhouse - also great doughnuts and buns!

Just got an americano and a bacon roll it come to more than £6 so was expecting something nice but instead I ended up with a very sparse amount of cold bacon in a roll where the bacon was actually breaking up like glass Really not impressed

Lovely service and I tried the cheese sticks for the first time. Yummy! Great selection and we could try the almond pastry before buying. Food looked fresh and you know when a Bakery is good because it was mega busy! Best kept secret! I'd love to return, even if it's for a cheesy stick!!

I can honestly say that the team that work here are the best. They get to know you and your order and that makes ordering so easy . And if you get a coffee card you will get a free coffee after every 6 you buy. Thanks 😊

I went into the Simmons in Hertford today to get a morning coffee. The two people that were working behind the counter were the rudest and most impatient so called customer service representatives I have ever encountered. I used the wrong card to pay to which they both gave me a death stare and then proceeded to announce to the entire store that I had ‘no money in the account’. Absolutely outrageous. Then someone they knew walked in and they were nice as pie but were looking at me while laughing with him. If that doesn’t make people uncomfortable I don’t know what does. The sheer audacity of Jacqui and her colleague whose name I couldn’t get, is absolutely sickening. This experience has put me off entering your stores ever again!

Went in today around 11am my first time here and very nice shop having seen some of the reviews before about staff thought id give it a go, the young lady that served me was Taylor and if I could give her 6 stars I would she was very polite and friendly while I decided what I wanted could not ask for a nicely staff member. I picked the cheese and meatball, chocolate brownie, sausage roll and a cheese stick and a chilli sourdough loaf, all the food I've had so far has been very nice and I can't wait to try the loaf later Overall it was Saturday daytime and busy and each member of staff I could see seemed very helpful and friendly, will be back when in the area again.

I went in and asked for a coffee 10min before closing and they told me they were having issues with the coffee machine so they couldn't serve. Upon looking when I was leaving it became clear they were cleaning it and wasn't broken. If you stop serving items at 16:50 then you should close at the same time and not 17:00 as stated. Just clean it after 17:00..........

Lovely bacon and egg bap cooked with a fresh egg. Good prices for really good quality. Nice friendly staff even when a huge group of builders came in trying to jump the queue. Only minor disappointment was no almond paste in the almond croissant.

Best bread in Herts, to avoid upset go in the morning as the fresh stock sells out during the day.

I had a slightly disappointing experience here, as I was unable to get a coffee with any dairy free milk. The biscuits they had were nice, but it’s pretty standard for coffee shops these days to have a dairy alternative.

I'm thinking of joining Simmons Anonymous in the future as my addiction seems to be getting out of control

yesterday I found two flys in my rolls the sandwich filling sits there all day without any cover yes they are all friendly and helpful

Glad I've moved to the other side of town away from the Eastern part as I'd be in here most days which would be a nightmare for my waistline. Plenty of breakfast and lunch options from sausage rolls and bakes to rolls etc that you can have made up. Or just pick up some rolls or a loaf. Coffee available. Lots of cakes and sweet stuff to round things off especially the bakewell tart which is ace...leave some for me. Service typically very friendly.

I pretty much go here every other day to get a pasty, cheese twist and a nice sweet treat. The food is always fresh, the doughnuts are oh so soft and fluffy, they always have a good selection to choose from. The prices are decent and the coffee tastes nice. I honestly think the previous negative reviews are just people being pedantic. I always enjoy my food from here, and the ladies are so welcoming; polite and they serve very fast- even if there is a queue!

Apparently they've been baking since 1838 but despite this they still can't toast a ciabatta or cook bacon as this is totally inedible the bread is rock hard, the bacon is under cooked and the price is well over the top

Best bacon rolls around, although expensive. Parking is awful and to make matters worse the stock deliveries into this store happen in the busiest time in the morning. One more vehicle occupying two of rare parking spaces. I would expect managers locally or centrally to have this in mind. Maybe they are happy to lose business to other coffee shops in the area.

Just been in for a Ham & Tomato Roll, there wasn't even enough in the roll to cover the surface area of the bread, for £4 there was hardly anything in it. Took it back for a refund, too big a queue so dumped it. Keep the money if you're that desperate.

Handy place to pick up a breakfast or dinner snack. Food is nice but a tad expensive for what you get. Tricky parking due to roadside location.

Great for Bacon rolls. I like the seeded baps. It is so popular, it is sometimes difficult to park outside.

Warm and welcoming service from the team. The multigrain sourdough bread has become our favourite, now we don't buy bread from anywhere else. Also the cakes and sandwiches are amazimg

Good fillings of sandwiches although the quantity of filling can vary greatly from one server to the next. Sausages in breakfast sandwich are very poor. Good ground bean, fresh coffee. Very popular although prices are slightly high for what is now a large hertfordshire based chain.

Not as good as an independent bakery, but a thousand times better than greggs, you always know you're going to get something good in Simmons, and the staff are always great too!

Had to come to this store instead of my usual. Found the staff a bit too involved which what each other were talking about and not concentrating on people or their orders. One had a Very loud screaming laugh which was a bit irritating also, but maybe thats my sensitive ears. But food was great as always.

The food is really good and if a good quality. It costs a little bit more than you would get elsewhere, but then the quality is a little bit better.

The great thing about Simmons is that it's consistently good wherever you go. This is one of their smaller shops but they still have a great selection of food available. There's only a few spaces to park out the front otherwise go in Tesco's or down a side road.

What's a great place, great coffee and fresh food. All the ladys that work there are amazing, they have the best manager in the whole of Simmons bakers.

Over priced and not the selection of a good old traditional bakers. Love finding a bakers and having a proper sarnie or old school treat but this was just a bit like the supermarket bakery aisle

It's pretty good!! Fastish service as everything is made fresh for you. Great breakfast rolls and lots of choice. The coffee is from a machine but it's surprisingly good... Too much choice when it comes to cakes and the window always looks so good! Couple of tables outside so mainly takeaway

First time visiting and not disappointed! Friendly staff and patient while I made my decisions - lots to choose from. Delicious and fresh baking. Will be back again soon!

Simmons has become such a happy place for us to visit over the lockdown. My kids look so forward to seeing Lisa, "the donut lady". She always puts a smile on all of our faces and its the little things like this that has kept our spirits up!

Great local bakery with fresh sandwiches and friendly staff. The coffee is good (certainly better than other alternatives) but it's a push-button machine rather than a proper espresso machine which is a bit of a shame. Great fresh bread though and some pastry treats.

Walked passed so.mamy times .wemt in they had no.fresh cream.cakes.wasnt impressed at all with what i bought.belgium bun was doughy dry .and not cheap. Wont go in there again.

A proper traditional bakery. Coming from Germany, I really miss a real bakery in England. Simmons is the closest one can get. 👍 Also the best Cappuccino.

Bright and colourful displays. Produce is freshly baked and prepared daily. Eat in or takeaway. Lunchtimes can get extremely busy.

Lovely baps and the rolls are good too

Staff are friendly and by the looks of it very hard working, easily got what I needed and everything just went smoothly. The interior though small is warm and nice making it very much a bakery and so is the wide range of food I can have, rather than Gregg's which is starting to not feel like a bakery anymore. If you ever come close to a Simmons bakery then go for it!

Fairly average chain bakery - their pastry are most likely frozen and only baked in store. Service is usually on the slow side.

Love their sourdough bread. And the crew is amazing and friendly. Once I went with my dog and didn't want to leave her outside so one of the girls came out and served me there.

Awful customer service, ignored and another customer served whilst waiting in the queue, despite being first. Not the first time this has happened.

A brilliant traditional bakers using good quality ingredients at either end of town (so drivers can also access). Their freshly made-to-order rolls, panini and baguettes are excellent. Their seasonal cakes and biscuits as well as cream cakes are surprisingly affordable. I believe they do bespoke wedding cakes given sufficient notice and would certainly given their customer service consider that if I were still in the area.
