Absolutely vile .. I have had many lovely and sometimes average Indian meals but this is by far the worst . I ordered the vegetarian option of korma and my husband a chicken dish . They tasted exactly the same .. looked like baby food and made me throw up . Avoid this place please .. just because they are on the high street and look busy ( you are made to sit downstairs for this very reason ) don’t waste you time money or health !

Just disgusting.. sloppy tasteless and made me sick after . My vegetarian main tasted the same as my husband’s .. I think one sauce fits all dishes ! Avoid

Went on news years eve. Was quite busy but they found a table for us very quickly. All staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was amazing, best we had in a long time and good size portions. Cost of the meal was very reasonable. already planning our next meal.

Found this restaurant while staying at the Premier Inn down the road. Walked in at 7pm without a reservation on a Saturday night & offered a table right away. Once we'd sat down, the restaurant was full. The food was delicious! Russell, our server was really nice. Made a huge effort with our 11 year old and made lots of conversation. Would definitely return if we come back to town.

Our second visit while staying at the Premiere Inn and we were so disappointed on this second visit the food was truly awful cooked without any fresh vegetables spices coriander just a microwaved hot tasteless mess. We come from Leeds and I can say this restaurant would not last a week serving food like this. The lamb kebabs were tasteless mushy mess the tandoori chicken was grainy and hard you would need a steak knife to cut it and the chicken Buhna had no onions and the garlic chilli chicken had no seasonings no garlic ginger or chilli. We will definitely not return.

Visit on each occasion we are in the area. Service is always good. The food whilst not outstanding is good. Prices are good. If eating in has tables upstairs too. We are normally there in November each year and I can imagine this restaurant being busy in summer. Will return next year.

A convenient restaurant if you are staying at the nearby Premier Inn and fancy a change. From the outside it looks quite small but it does have more tables upstairs. The food is OK but not the best I have tasted with nothing looking like what is on the menu. My wife ordered the chicken and mushroom Balti which was more like a mild Jalfrezi with peppers and onions. It all seemed a bit westernised to me and was nothing like what i am used to in the midlands. As i say, the food is edible but not full of flavour. I would use it again if no other Indian restaurant was available

Wow! Visiting Porthmadog for a hiking trip and was looking for a place to eat. We walked past the restaurant at about 5pm and the restaurant was rammed. This was a good sign, so we went inside. They managed to squeeze us in. Incredible food, generous portions and amazing service. All at a great price too. Had a delicious vegetarian paneer madras curry with all the sides. The service was really friendly, and the manager even come over to check we was ok. Takeaway service was really busy too. We ate at the restaurant twice on our trip- both times lovely. Thank you so much, best curry we’ve had in ages.

My husband and I decided to have a meal here after reading reviews. All I can say is if this restaurant was local to us it wouldn't last long! My husband ordered chicken pakora to start I have never seen pakora like this. Pakora normally has batter on it this had breadcrumbs on it and was battered flat and cut into 4 pieces! To me it looked like chicken maryland cut up. It had no taste either and there was no accompanying sauce. Very strange. Then came the main course chicken tikka masala which was very grainy and no peppers! Weird. My chicken korma was alright but the chips were rotten. All in all save your money and go somewhere else. Needless to say we won't visit again when in Wales

Great food, good service. The lamb balti was excellent and the paneer was done just right. Even the chutney accompanying the poppadoms was a cut above. We scarfed it all down! No mango lassi on the menu, however, and the staff had never heard of it - a real headscratcher.

Good food, great staff. The menu is the standard british indian, but well executed. Prices average. Very pleasant waiter who was a bit of a showman. Looks very small from outside, but there is an upstairs dining room as well, which was where we ate.

The food was delicious and our waiter, Russell, was amazing and personable. It was a bit later in the evening on a slower night and he made the experience better by chatting with us. Highly recommend. If we're ever back in Porthmadog we'll visit again.

The food here was great. Not the best Indian we have had but best in the area. Service provided by Russell was great, some confusion over the order but quickly rectified. The only thing that let's this place down is the decor. It needs updating. The tables were damaged and wobbly.

Excellent curry lamb and excellent side of eggplant. Really, the entire meal was extremely enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Stayed in Wales for a few days and decided to check out this place. Excellent waiter service provided by Russell. He was very quick and efficient with everything we needed. Very tasty food, one of the best we've ever had actually. Very much enjoyed it, thank you.

This is the best Indian restaurant in Porthmadog. Russell, our waiter was very welcoming and made sure we had a pleasant experience. Loved the curry and mixed starter there. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a delicious Indian meal.

Friendly staff, amazing food and good atmosphere

Service was good but the food was awful. We researched where to eat and this had decent reviews- sadly it’s was bad! Cold starters with little taste, tandoori chicken was bland, dry and hard. Dansak the worst I’ve ever had and butter chicken was just plain weird! We ate no mains, paid and left for the chippy over the road!

Been going here for last 10 years. Never had a bad curry ever. Long wait for our meal last time we went but still an amazing curry. This evening was by far best Chicken Madras I've ever had. Thank you. Out of this world by a country mile. John and Marie from Neston staying at GREENACRES

Met up with a friend and had a lovely meal here. We were able to park across the road too. Russell, our waiter brought drinks and made sure that we were happy with our food before leaving us to eat. There was a very nice, friendly atmosphere and even the noisy boozy group who arrived later were settled down by the skill of the waiters. Food was good, much larger portions than when we've had a takeaway . Definitely our favourite place to eat in Porthmadog, we'll be back! Thanks.

Takeaway order picked up. Nice chicken jalfrazi, nice fresh chillies. There is plenty of mushroom rice in the portion. Vegetable korma had good variation of veg, served with pilau rice. For our sides, we had poppadoms, onion bhaji, and plain and keema naan. Overall, it was a nice takeaway.

Chaotic front of house more than off set by brilliant food. Had garlic chilli lamb and paratha. Hot, garlicky, buttery, lovely.

I left this place feeling very confused. The service was strange, we were asked questions constantly and felt almost dread as we heard the server running up the stairs as we knew he would be back. The kitchen seemed to have got the order wrong but I know these things happen and I didn't want to waste food. He then offered me a drink on the house to which he brought up some more tap water which is what I was drinking. In an attempt to still charge for the food they got wrong, they said that they couldn’t change the bill and that I refused a drink on the house after I stated that I do not drink however no alternative was offered. The waiter then asked us questions up until we left in almost an intimidating manner about what he had done wrong, and asked if we were locals as we left the restaurant. The food was average, a little bland and the cheese naan was very much cheap burger slice cheese? I felt as though the whole experience was someone pulling a very bad joke on me. A very strange place I am not sure that I will return or I would recommend to anyone unfortunately. Nevertheless, it was an experience I will certainly remember forever

Expensive food, Staff will push you to order more items, will disturb you again and again while you are eating, pushing you to order more food.

What it lacked in atmosphere, it more than made up for with the food. One of the best Indian meals I have had in ages

We ordered food for collection They said collect in 20 - 25 minutes and had to wait over 50 minutes. It came out less than half portions of food.which was not even for 1 portion. I would not recommend it at all.

The food was cold and the service very slow. The cheese used in the cheese naan was the sliced yellow cheese you get in cheap burgers, highly processed and tasted horrible. The tables had seen better days and the whole atmosphere was more like a cheap cafe. Very overpriced for the poor quality food.

Disappointed. Ordered a Chicken Tikka Madras take away and ended up with I think was a masalla. No spice at all.

After checking reviews we decided on sima tandoori and I'm very happy to say it was a great choice. We got the set meal for 2 and it was all lovely couldn't fault a thing. Definitely deserves the full 5 stars we will be back

The best Indian in Porthmadog! The service is incredible and so attentive with our whole table but specially with my 3rd year old daughter who was treated like a princess. The food is lovely and made exactly as asked. Could t recommended enough. Thank you Paddy xx

We've visited whilst on our annual weekend stay for the last decade or so and always had a great meal washed down with cobra lager and red wine We will be back next year without doubt Visited again last Friday 30th June and wasn't as good as first visit so gave it 3 stars instead of 5 The lamb in my curry was very very tough indeed I doubt it was lamb Service wasn't good either . They tried to seat 8 large adults at 3 small tables pushed together which eventually the added 1 more table but it was still very cramped..

Don’t normally leave bad reviews but I have had hundreds of curries over the years and this was by far the worst. Zero flavour, zero spice, have had better curries at home from a jar. If this was not a microwave meal then I am very surprised. Terrible service and terrible food. 30mins longer wait than they said for pick-up and then what was “cooked” was bland grool. In the time I was waiting to pick-up the curry, the service in the restaurant seemed equally poor. Avoid

It’s always a gamble choosing an Indian whilst you’re on holiday, but wow the loveliest Indian meal I’ve ever had. Our local Indian is a multiple award winning restaurant (Pabna, Leek Staffs) but this has hands down been one of the nicest take aways I’ve had. Compliments to the chef

Went there by chance a few days ago - could not find any spot where they serve food after 8.30 pm. The food is excellent and the service is fast and welcoming. We have eaten in many Indian restaurants but this is one of the best ones! It is even better than famous Dishoom - the portions are generous and curry is just AMAZING! If you add the reasonable prices to that - cannot find a better place to eat. Cannot recommend enough!:))))

We went to the restaurant today, the service was too poor, food was awful- we ordered chicken curry - they made it too hot - spoiled our dinner- staff was partial- they weren’t bothered to ask us for the service- was just in serving the locals- we felt not welcomed at all. We wouldn’t recommend at all- poor food and service , wish I could give 0- Zero stars .

Always seems pretty quiet but not necessarily a bad thing. Try the lamb Jaflong it's proper tasty.
