Supper club menu..food was delicious. Don't expect large portions..this is quality over quantity..so maybe go for the 3 course option. I wonder if they should add side options for an extra charge? But it was lovely.

We had an amazing time here for Mothers Day. The food was excellent and the service was equal to that. My youngest, who is 10, had a child's version of a main course which was perfect. We'll be back again soon.

Underwhelmed would be my honest statement. Service was friendly and quick enough but the meal ? £10 surcharge for the Steak on the super menu was accepted but the small amount of veg and potatoes that accompany it was not good. 3 baby carrots nice tasting but come on 3? 3 cubes of potatoes was not enough. We were told the steak would be pink in the middle, fine I like it medium rare but one of our party doesn't but the waitress informed us it would otherwise be over cooked if we went well done. Really, just keep turning it then , the customer should be served what they ask for. Fortunately we added chips to the order and we needed to . Jerk beef starter is served cold but it doesn't work or tell you on the menu, the steaks were obviously rested. No problem apart from the arrived luke warm. Not again for me thanks, Arty food before quality meal I've had better for less

Wonderful family meal for 7 of us. Chris and the team are very friendly and provide a high level of service. Food was fantastic with a modern twist on English classics. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a treat in Sheffield.

Last month we visited Silversmiths in Sheffield. We were lucky to be greeted with an eerie moon that shone down the street. Some old cobblestones just add to the atmosphere. Silversmiths is located just off a main thoroughfare from the train station up to the city centre going through part of the university campus. Theatres are close by. We were warmly greeted, it is a cosy place with a nice friendly vibe. The mid week menu is termed a “supper club”. I was not in a wine mood but they did have bottles of Timothy Taylors which was very welcomed. Amble bread was served with the meal We had Cod Cheeks and Cream tomato Soup for starters, both were lovely and different. The soup was slightly deconstructed, the soup came in a separate pot to be poured over the cream and crouton in the dish. The gently crushed peas with the cod worked well. The batter scraps reminded me of chip shops (this is good) Now the gnocchi in my main course was the best ive eaten, excellent. Excellent balance to the course. There was a great new twist to the classic Egg, chips and Ham. The Ham was infused with an aniseed flavour which worked well. In addition to the proper fried egg, the Hollandaise sauce was done in a shape of a fried egg. An excellent meal was rounded off with Elephants Foot and Cherry Bakewell.

Firstly the service was brilliant and the relaxed atmosphere is very appealing. The mid wk prices are very reasonable and the quality of the food is at a very high level. The incentive of the £10 discount on a revisit is a wonderful touch, however I was always going to be back in a short space of time. In short it was a very pleasant experience which I intend to repeat on more than one occasion. C u soon.

Great staff, good atmosphere but spoiled by lamb that would be refused by a hyena. I was not paying the bill so I did not raise this issue with management. Had I been paying, I would have invited the manager and his "chef" to try to eat the lamb that was presented to me. When they failed, I would have asked "if you can't eat it, how do you expect me to". Any chef worth his salt knows what's being presented and in my opinion, this chef isn't worth a pinch of the stuff. Completely unacceptable and I will not be returning.

Really lovely food for a special occasion. First a complimentary sourdough muffin with cream cheese and edible flowers. We started with tomato soup and fish and chips. A lovely take on traditional fish and chips but more upmarket with finer ingredients. The second complimentary course was smoked cheddar and leek pithivier. Stunning and could quite easily have been a main course, I would be happy to pay for. This was followed by fish pie and Bubble and Squeak. Both were fabulous and an elevated take on their usual counterparts. Finally a lovely little rhubarb and custard amuse bouche. I couldn't resist the Bailey's bread and butter pudding. So pleased I didn't ask it was lush!! Thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal and Rachel (our server) was fabulous. Highly recommended 😊. Thank you.

We came yesterday for Sunday lunch as we were visiting our son at university. I had googled a lot of restaurant reviews in sheffield and after reading yours we decided to try Can honestly say it was absolutely beautiful,the staff so friendly and helpful and very welcoming. There were 5 of us so we had a mixture of roast beef,chicken and Roasted ham sunday lunch. The flavours were something else and all meats cooked to perfection with beautiful fresh vegetables,roasts,yorkshire pudding etc . We all commented on the standard and quality of the food and we will, without hesitation be visiting again in the near future. Many thanks to your team for a fantastic lunch Michael & Helen Smith

Visiting Sheffield as a "tourist" we spent a lovely evening here. The food was excellent, the service attentive but not pushy, and the staff friendly and efficient. Highly recommended if you are visiting the city ( and for locals too, of course.)

We have just had a fabulous meal for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary , the food was presented lovely and Rachel was absolutely fabulous! credit to her as nothing was to much!

We were celebrating our friend's birthday at Silversmith's. She was greeted with a very nice birthday cocktail. The food was delicious and well presented. The service was excellent, particularly from Stuart who was attentive to our needs. We will certainly be visiting again.

Incredible food and drinks, and lovely friendly staff! We had the Beetroot and goat cheese starter, steak and ale pie (deconstructed) and the Baileys bread and butter pudding and “Elephants foot” for dessert

We really enjoyed our meal at Silversmiths on Thursday evening. We had seen an advert online and decided to book, as the menu looked very good to us and good value. We were not disappointed; everything was cooked beautifully and tasted great. We had 3 courses and enjoyed them all. Our bottle of Sauvignon Rose was very good too. The staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. So, all in all, a most enjoyable evening.

Went to Silversmiths for pre-theatre dinner on Saturday evening. 5.30pm sitting. The staff are very attentive and helpful, the food is first class. The prices are very competitive for such a high standard of food. Highly recommend.

My husband and I visited on Valentines Day. Each dish was cooked to perfection and looked very impressive. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish and we would highly recommend this restaurant. We will be visiting again, hopefully soon! The service was warm and welcoming, the waitress was lovely and attentive. We sat in a booth which was a nice space and comfortable, albeit a little brightly lit. Thanks very much for a very enjoyable evening, it was the perfect place for a romantic date night!

Sunday dinner is unreal and excellent service too! Beef cooked to perfection and yorkshire puds 10/10. Definitely filling enough without the extras but the cauli cheese and roast potatoes were too good to not order. Finished off with a cherry Bakewell cocktail, gorgeous

Friend group out tonight trying somewhere new. Friendly staff, polite, helpful, knowledgable on the menu. Food was amazing. Enough time between courses, really tasty and well presented. Serviced with good humour, smiles and offer of drinks too ups. All round a very happy group, well fed, well looked after and a really decent wine menu!

Massive plaudits to the new chef Tom — his dishes were nothing short of stunning, both visually and in flavour. Each plate was a work of art and an absolute delight to eat. His 21st-century take on ham and chips was simply to die for, while my partner couldn’t stop raving about her cod for the rest of the evening. The Silversmiths Supper Club experience comes highly recommended by us. For the quality of food and service, you'd be hard-pressed to find better value. A truly wonderful way to spend a Wednesday night.

The staff were lovely and the atmosphere fine. The food however was poor. The bubble and squeak was a fancy boiled egg (which actually was cool) with a few pieces of veg scattered over the plate all for the eye watering price of £21. The cherry bakewell was flavourless. My partner had the salmon in pastry and it was ok but the snickers desert consisted of 2 very small spoon measured blobs of half melted ice cream with some nuts and a smudge of chocolate that needed to be chiselled off to eat. The wait was also very long for the food which also became an annoyance when we saw the head chef having a natter with the serving staff. We both left hungry, very disappointed having forked out £80 and really wanting a McDonalds. As for the theatre 15% off - it ended in January.

Myself and a few friends booked the midweek supper club.Food was lovely and beautifully presented.Service was very good and our waitress was pleasant and helpful. One friend had to drop out of the booking at short notice, but the manager was very thoughtful and understanding when I rang to change numbers.

Having ate here for Sunday lunch for what I can only assume was fully booked as it kept getting busier every time I turned around. Our waitress treated us very well and we felt great. The food came out and was exceptional. Would recommend to anyone to try the locals for Sunday lunch.

My wife had a 'mature' graduation at the University of Sheffield and four of us were celebrating by visiting your restaurant. We love to support new independent restaurants and try to avoid chains. What caught our attention was your supper menu. Excellent value for money and brilliant interpretations of classic British food. The service was really helpful and very friendly. We live in Bristol but when we are next in Sheffield we will visit Silversmiths.

My friends and I visited for bottomless brunch on a Saturday afternoon recently. We really enjoyed our visit! The food was really tasty, my friends couldn't believe the quality and size of the steak sandwich that was included in the brunch. My huevos rancheros was delicious. The cocktails were very good quality and not sugary/watered down like at other establishments we've visited recently. The service was excellent and our waitress was taking our next drink order well before we had finished the last one. We'll be back!

My wife and I visited and ate off the a la carte menu. Having looked at the menu online we knew what we were ordering. The service was prompt, friendly and efficient and the quality of the food was excellent. We will have no issues in recommending your restaurant to others. We look forward to visiting again soon.

3 of us in today for Sunday dinner. 2 roast beef and a 3 meat roast. All exceptional. Bryony looked after us brilliantly, so polite and helpful. Great atmosphere, great red wine and a great Sunday dinner!

I thought the service was great. Navigated the inevitable questions about this and that alcohol on the brunch. She handled it all with good grace. It was a little quiet but suited us as we were worried it would be a bit of a piss up. It was good value overall. My only criticism was while the food was well executed and tasty it was a bit insubstantial. Maybe something simpler and a little more would have been better.

My partner and I dined at Silversmiths for our Christmas meal together and we absolutely loved it. We opted for 3 courses each after seeing the wonderful menu and we also took advantage of the super Christmas cocktails on offer. It was delicious! My partner adored the goose and as a vegetarian, I really appreciated the gorgeous Wellington. We arrived 15 minutes early and we were seated straight away. The food came quickly and the waitresses were very friendly and always available to help. We have already said to each other that we would love to come back to Silversmiths to try some of the other food on offer. It's a brilliant independent business that we will definitely continue to support.

Me and two friends attended Silversmiths on the 28th Dec for our rescheduled Christmas meet-up. The restaurant itself looks very classy and has lovely interiors and we were given a warm welcome on arrival. The staff were so friendly. They were the perfect level of attentive and really made us feel at home. We had two courses on the Christmas menu. I opted for the vegetarian Christmas meal with trimmings and the sticky toffee pudding. The food was easily the best we’ve had from a Christmas menu (and we’ve been doing Christmas meals together from various establishments for the last 7 or so years). The dishes were prepared to such a high standard, were absolutely delicious and a really good portion that left us satisfied but not uncomfortably full. The staff were also happy to accommodate changes to the dish requested by my friend. We also had cocktails which were prepared beautifully (despite there apparently being a garnish shortage after Christmas which we didn’t even notice thanks to some gorgeous shimmer added to my friend’s cosmopolitan). Overall, we had a wonderful time on our visit and are already planning to return again soon.

I feel we were victims of the post-Crimbo limbo period when we visited Silversmiths. But if your menu is reduced and your dishes are reduced, reduce your prices as well. Nice food (well mine anyway) and good choice of wine (beer range more limited), but I felt overall for £70 a head, including drinks and the tip we added, the standard should have been consistently higher and meals served as advertised. Service was good and very friendly staff. Atmosphere was good - calm, relaxed, spacious, smart decor. Now note that we didn't have a choice of menu - the Christmas menu was the only one available. But we were warned on arrival that there were only two days of the menu left, so things were running out - so no chicken liver mousse, limited goose, and no mochi cake. Fine. But then, when our meals came, there also didn't appear to be any horseradish in the gnocchi starter, which left it quite bland, the venison (delicous) was missing its buttermilk biscuit, and there was no sign of any truffle in the "truffled brie". And all the deserts were served with vanilla ice cream as they'd run out of the interesting ones... Also - the vegan "fishcake" with a few sauces was NOT worth £28, the same price as the venison. My wife later described it as bland. The waygu beef, scallop, cod and venison were all very nice. So a mixed bag, and we enjoyed a nice meal, but I can't help feeling short-changed. (Note: I didn't complain at the time as I didn't want to make a fuss in front of my family who were all there for a nice post-Christmas meal)

We visited for Sunday lunch as a group recently and unfortunately we were disappointed. We were told the beef would be medium rare but arrived so rare, a good vet could probably have brought it back to life! The roast potatoes, parsnips and Yorkshire puddings had been cooked goodness knows how long in advance which in itself is not an issue as long as you know how to rejuvenate them. The chicken was tasty and the dessert was very nice.

Fantastic dinner with my other half pre-concert. I love a good cocktail and there aren't many that make them so well! Literally the best cosmo, espresso martini and pornstar martini!! Recommend for a lovely evening! The waiting staff are incredibly attentive and our waitress Marissa was amazing 👏❤️ food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be here again soon. Super Sunday lunch with family relaxed atmosphere a good service.

We are not local but choose Silversmith's to meet family every 3 months. It’s always a lovely traditional lunch great service and very comfortable have already booked for March 2025

We have been to the Supper Club previously on a couple of occasions - excellent food at a very affordable price. This time we visited on a Saturday evening and had the Christmas menu. The meal was exceptional, the service was excellent and we had a really wonderful night out. We will be visiting again in the near future. Would definitely recommend.

Food was absolutely delicious - excellent quality and beautifully presented. Portions were quite small however. Staff are brilliant - really friendly and welcoming waitstaff. The restaurant was quite quiet when we visited on a Saturday night, which we didn't mind at all. Would visit again if we were ever back in the area!

Absolutely horrendous. After having a series of good meals at Silversmiths we made the decision to return in celebration of my Mum and Dad’s wedding anniversary. It took a while to receive our drinks and then another hour until our food actually arrived. No one came to apologise for how long the food was taking or gave any explanation as to why the food was so delayed, despite us having waited over an hour by this stage. Upon arrival our meals (all of which were a Sunday roast) arrived entirely cold. All of the veg was stale, meat cold and even the gravy had gone cold. We were done at this stage and instead of being apologetic for the awful service, stupidly long wait and cold in-edible food the manager still expected us to pay for our drinks. We aren’t a family who ever complain at restaurants but we weren’t the only table sending our food back or complaining about the long wait times. This experience was bad enough that we will never return to a restaurant which was once our go-to for special occasions. Disappointing. UPDATE: Silversmiths replied to this review claiming they remade our food - this is false and never happened. They also claimed the manager on shift “apologised deeply” which once again categorically isn’t true. No member of staff visited our table to apologise for the hour long wait for food and when we made them aware our food was stone cold the response we got was far from an apology but a nonchalant response asking us to pay for our drinks. It’s clear their admin took a similar approach in their response to this review with their categorically false justifications instead of just apologising. Furthermore disappointing. Will never be returning.

Had Sunday Roast with friends. It was my first time having Sunday Roast, and it was amazing. Highly recommended by my English friends as well. Nice desserts as well. Love the atmosphere and very friendly staff. Would highly recommend the place.

The food was lovely. I had never seen the restaurant before but walked by and booked with no expectations. The menu is fantastic interesting flavours executed brilliantly. The sticky toffee pudding (no photo as eaten too quickly) was incredible. Really would reccomend the place the staff were lovely and food amazing!!!

This wasn’t my first visit and won’t be my last-I’ve already booked for ‘Christmas at Silversmiths’. The food is exquisite and innovative and their Mid-Week Supper Club particularly is great value for money. The wine is excellent too-on this occasion we had a Pinot Grigio Rose which was delicious. The staff are very attentive, friendly and professional and the service is superb. All in all I cannot fault this establishment.

We had a family get together for mums 90th birthday and I can honestly say that we all loved the Sunday lunch very much. We will be back in the near future to sample more of the menu. The staff were excellent and they helped us with the cake mum really enjoyed the day.

We ate Sunday lunch with you on Sunday and it was absolutely delicious. I had the celeriac and it had the right amount of kick. Beautiful range of perfectly cooked veg. I'm looking forward to visiting again

When we arrived we were greeted by our waitress for the night which was a lady called Marissa. Our drinks orders were taken and within a couple of minutes our drinks arrived. We then placed our food order and also asked a few questions about the food on the menu to which she didn't hesitate to answer our questions regarding this. The food was unbelievable, the steak was the best I've ever had, My partner had the lamb and it was cooked to perfection. All in all, we had a fabulous night of beautiful food and exceptional service from Marissa. She is by far the best waitress I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and is a credit to the company. We will definitely be returning. Massive thanks to Marissa for her exceptional hospitality towards us.

First visit to Silversmiths, first visit to Sheffield. On street parking opposite, With a car park a short stroll had that of been full. Staff were fun and friendly whilst still being professional. Big mix of cliental, some people casual others dressed up. All welcomed with a sense of Silversmiths being inclusivity. Center piece was the food. Varied choice on the menu, superbly presented, much of it locally sourced. Silversmiths really are ambassadors for great food great service and Sheffield as a city.

Silversmiths offered a great experience - everything from the welcome, the service, the surrounds, and especially the food! We would highly recommend. We ate from the pre-theatre menu and the efficiency of service was second to none. We will definitely return!

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch, great portion size and wonderfully presented and the team were very attentive. We found it to be great value and will definitely be returning as we are only Doncaster based and go out for a roast most weeks!

Since our visit I have recommended Silversmiths to a lot of my friends - the booths are the perfect cozy and snuggly table for 4 to get to know each other end enjoy some amazing food! I champion this place to anyone looking for foodie recommendations in Sheffield and honestly I don’t think there’s a single thing that you should change. Our servers that eve were really lovely too. Keep up doing what you’re doing we love you!

Lovely welcoming staff, great service. Restaurant was clean and well presented. I’m disappointed in the lack of vegetarian options. The vegetarian options that were available were too small. The roast celeriac portion was too small, and I finished it in about 5 minutes. It felt more like a starter than a full meal. It was just vegetables with little to no protein, it left me feeling hungry as I left the restaurant. Please update the menu to be more vegetarian friendly, with filling meals. The food presentation was great, but it was lacking in taste.

Had the early evening deal. Starter of roasted carrots disappointing as they weren't cooked - just warmed up. Left most. Mussels for main OK, nice sauce bread and chips but several of the mussels hadn't opened yet we're served up to eat!

Staff were fantastic. Attentive and friendly. Sunday lunch was ok. A limited menu which is ok as we went specifically for a Sunday roast but it took quite a long time to arrive, the portion was small for the cost and the food was cold. With a limited menu and a half full restaurant I found it surprising. We won’t return, the food let the serving staff down.

We hired the upstairs room and it was fantastic. A perfect space for a group of around 12 and the food and the service was outstanding. I can’t recommend this pub more highly. Just fantastic for meeting up with a good bunch of friends for a fantastic night of food, drink and laughs. Special mention to the staff who were brilliant.

Horrendous, waiting for the table, ran out of chicken at 2pm so ordered a veg dinner and was charged for the cauliflower dinner but didn’t bring the cauliflower…had to walk up and ask for drinks, roast potatoes like grey rocks from a building site Beef was great but overall will never set foot in this place again Terrible

My husband and I absolutely love Silversmiths, it is our favourite place to go in Sheffield. The food is always delicious and we love that the menu is interesting and changes regularly. The staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. We have been going for years and never had anything less than an amazing experience.

Silver Smiths Restaurant made for a fantastic choice for date night with my partner. From the moment we stepped in, I was captivated by the dark, moody décor which created an intimate and inviting atmosphere. The presentation of the food was beautifully done, with creative flavour pairings that I truly enjoyed. Each dish was well thought out and delicious, making me eager to return and explore more of the menu. While I appreciated the cocktail I ordered, I found it a bit too sweet for my taste. Additionally, sipping through the straw was tricky as pieces of the crushed fruit kept blocking it. However, this was a minor issue and more of a personal preference than anything. The cleanliness of the restaurant was impeccable, and the staff were incredibly warm, professional, and attentive, which made the entire experience feel special. Overall, I had a lovely time and will definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommended!

Visited for the pre theatre menu. The food was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were friendly and attentive. Very good value for money too.

We had a really lovely meal, with delicious food, in a welcoming and friendly environment. There was an issue with one of the mains, however the staff dealt with that well, providing a new main and taking the cost of the main off the bill altogether. It was pretty noisy in the restaurant with a lot of people also eating. This reflected the restaurant's popularity but did make conversation feel slightly more challenging across the table. Overall it was a very positive experience, at reasonable price for the quality of the food, and would be well recommended!

We visited Silversmiths for the first time in quite a while this week and I'm delighted to say it was absolutely fantastic. The food on the midweek supper club was spot on. The menu isn't the widest but understandable for the midweek market and prices very favourably. The quality of it was spot on. The pig cheek starter was delicious and definitely better than it sounds! The pan fried chicken was cooked to perfection and an absolutely delightful main. The Thai influenced seaweed cod was a big flavour hit and very well received by my wife. The carraway fries were a pleasant side too and something a bit different. The service was spot on and the food was beautiful. Special mention to the behind the scenes and the customer care. I had an issue with a gift voucher but they sorted this out in advance of our visit with no fuss at all. This was greatly appreciated. The only thing I would tweak is the background music, but maybe that was just us. The music wasn't 'wrong' in any way and I couldn't name the tracks. Personally I would have gone for something a little softer/instrumental/more background. All in a delightful meal out and very well looked after by the team at Silversmiths. Don't overlook this gem which is a little bit hidden in the city centre.

Brilliant atmosphere, beautiful decor. Brilliant service. Food was nice ,what you could find on your plate .came out starving very little food .

First time at this restaurant. Have attended for a date night on a Wednesday at 7pm. The outside of the building is beautiful, and the dining area is beautiful. Apon entrance, we were given a warm, friendly welcome and shown to our table. 2 things missing of the menu and disappointed that no pints of lager were available. All I could have was bottles of beer, which was more expensive than a pint. The lemonade and coke were off as well. Starter was a 3 out of 5. The pork crackling was rock hard. Couldn't bite through it. Main was 4 out of 5. Had to pay extra for chips. Pudding was 5 out of 5 but could have done with bigger portions.

My family and I enjoyed an excellent meal here to celebrate my daughters graduation in July. We had a lovely evening, the food was very good with some interesting options (never encountered deep fried mince pie before but it was amazing!) and the service first rate. Will be sure to visit again next time we're in the fine city of Sheffield !
