This is a favourite and did not disappoint when we went for a celebration dinner. I had the best vegetarian meal I've had in a restaurant and the coffee mouse for dessert was perfect. The food is interesting and experimental and almost always excellent. The service is efficient and discrete. Looking forward to going again soon.

Really below average food. Waitress looked put out when pressing whether we had anything to say about it and I said it was just really average. Id wanted to come for some time because of the rave reviews but I can’t believe they’re all genuine after that. They did call ahead and say they don’t have two of the four meats available.. completely fine I was having beef anyway which they had. On arrival no cauliflower cheese (assuming it’s store bought?) and no discount for it missing. I was so disappointed by the food that when the bill came I didn’t even argue the missing food, what difference could it have made to frozen potatoes, poorly cooked beef (overdone), and batter mix Yorkshire puddings. The nicest thing on my plate and the only saving grace was a lovely carrot! I never eat puddings but I needed one today. That was ok but obviously a tray bake. I cook well, I expect for a restaurant to at least match my own cooking. Was really looking forward to it and would usually give at least twice before making my mind up but with food like that I wouldn’t return unless it was free and I’d have to be at a loose end even then. Nice place (decorated) really poor food, very overpriced, do not recommend.

Poor experience. No greeting on arrival. LED to the table and given menus. Immediately told no Pork or Lamb available due supplier failure !Starters not mentioned on the menu so I enquired and told the restaurant find that customers having the main course only is sufficient? I asked for bread or olives whilst we were waiting for the main course - All to no avail as nothing was available. Desserts were available but no costs shown on the menu. The main course was enjoyed, but the overall experience including gravy dropped on my trousers was not good. We ear out regularly and found the service here strange including staff tickle tackling behind the bar when we complained. The restaurant were told we would not return and they agreed to £7 compensation being deducted off the bill for my trousers to be dry cleaned.

What a wonderful evening we had. the staff were so attentive but not intrusive. They have a fabulous mixologist and the food was exquisit. Chef even accommodated my vanilla allergy with a special dessert for me. I'm so pleased we chose Silversmiths to celebrate our anniversary

Great food and so good to eat somewhere with innovative menus rather the the same old choice. Excellent value with supper club and Sunday special deals but would pay full price for a special occasion. Staff always attentive and knowledgeable. Always a treat.

My Wife and I attended Silversmiths on Saturday 13th July 2024 as a celebration of recently being married. We were welcomed in to the restaurant by waitress Marissa who, from the outset and throughout, was extremely friendly and professional. The service in general was quick and the atmosphere inside was great. The food was spectacular- I had the Southern Fried Chicken Burger and my wife had the monk fish. Both were delicious. The cocktails were also great- I had the old fashioned and my wife had the Yorkshire garden. Please pass on our thanks to Marissa and staff for their hospitality and service ( the complimentary prosecco was much appreciated).

The lamb was sublime! Wonderful veg on the roast. Plenty of gravy. Lovely service. Would highly recommend

We had a fabulous time. Staff greeted us happily, they were courteous and especially helpful when I asked questions regarding the Béarnaise Sauce. Food was really nice, we all enjoyed it. Restaurant had a nice ambience and lighting. I can’t remembered being asked about how the steak was to be cooked, for me it was perfectly cooked, but if my wife had it, it would have been too raw for her. We were surprised about the Black Forest Gateaux, was expecting some cake, the dessert that came out was still nice, we all thoroughly enjoyed it, but we all said maybe a round piece of chocolate sponge in there would have made it perfect for us. My daughter really enjoyed the soft shell crab and my wife has never seen violet potatoes before, which were lovely. Look forward to visiting again

Went there for our anniversary dinner. The food was great and the cocktail was delicious. Loved everything about it made our anniversary special. The staff were amazing and so kind and welcoming. The atmosphere was amazing and made the nice perfect.

The staff were amazing, and the drinks were all prepared very nicely. I'd say the cocktails were the best part of our experience, the ingredients were lovely, and they were presented perfectly. It was nice to go to a classy brunch where we could hear each other speak as the music wasn’t too loud.

My friend and I had a lovely time at Silversmiths restaurant on Saturday. We both had the open steak sandwich which was delicious and the steak was cooked perfectly. The cocktails were lovely and the service was excellent. I have been to Silversmiths a few times previously, so I knew how good the food and service was, but my friend had never been before. She thoroughly enjoyed herself and said she would definitely go back.

It was nice here. I came here a while ago. I came with my family and the steak was lovely but it was a bit of a small portion. The atmosphere here was not very good but overall I enjoyed coming here.

Had Sunday Roast with friends. It was my first time having Sunday Roast, and it was amazing. Highly recommended by my English friends as well. Nice desserts as well. Love the atmosphere and very friendly staff. Would highly recommend the place.

Booked my parents in for a pre show meal on their wedding anniversary, paid for with a gift voucher. I emailed and the reply was very prompt and helpful (thank you Chris). My parents loved the food saying it was very veggie friendly, the service was fantastic and the cocktails were delicious. My dad even said it was the best resteraunt he's been to in Sheffield. We had an excellent and reasonably priced mid week evening meal from the supper club menu. The service was very good and we all enjoyed our meals. It's a bit of a gem in the heart of the city and close to uni accommodation so visiting parents can treat their children.

We visited Silversmiths for lunch on Sunday 28 April 2024. We had such an enjoyable occasion; the food was exceptional and the flavour of dishes, meat and vegetarian were delectable. The waitresses were attentive and very friendly; it was no problem accommodating the pram! The atmosphere was relaxed and provided a really enjoyable dining experience. We have recommended Silversmiths to others and we look forward to dining with you again soon.

Attended on Saturday 11th May with 7 others for the bottomless brunch. We were booked in for 12:00 which at the time of booking seemed quite early. It probably still was as we were the first in. We arrived just before and was promptly shown to our table. First drinks order taken dead on 12:00 and by 12:10 the first one had gone and we were ready for another. Great choice of drinks and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Quality, quantity, taste and presentation 10/10. The food was preordered and came 20 minutes after we arrived. I now understand why we could only get in at 12:00. By the time we came to leave the place was full. Quite strict with having one drink at a time (no “double parking”) which I totally get. The waitresses would take another drinks order if you were reaching the bottom of your current drink. Was great to have the 15 minutes reminder as we were nearing the end of our time slot. Great drinks, food and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

My wife and I visited Silversmiths for an evening meal. I've got to say the food was amazing, the atmosphere was great and very friendly but I can't rate the service high enough. The servers couldn't have been better. After the meal, we thought we'd enjoy a cocktail... the one I wanted (a manhattan) wasn't on the menu, so they goggled it and made it for me. Honestly, if in the area I would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time at Silversmiths on Saturday, the staff are fantastic and the food was delicious. Our only feedback would be the choice of cocktails were not our ‘cup of tea’ but that is purely personal preference. The bonus was that we could have a spirit and mixer as an alternative which you don’t get in many other venues. Overall, a great experience and one I would happily repeat and recommend to family and friends.

Sent first meal back it was cold . Second came back the same apart from the Yorkshire pudding . Lamb not cooked left half of it in my napkin so raw and full of fat. Sorry will not be back . Service was lovely.

Delicious 3 course meal- every dish well thought out and presented. Particularly enjoyed the celeriac starter. Service was friendly and attentive and it was nicely busy for Thursday evening. Great. Would go back again.

The quality of food was outstanding, All cooked to order and served piping hot. The portion sizes were really generous and it all tasted amazing. The service was excellent, all staff were very attentive.

Superb experience for my mum for her birthday. We experienced their tasting menu which was 4 course and an intermission which was an incredibly culinary experience. The service by all the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable and the atmosphere throughout the evening was delightful.

Lovely Restaurant where we always enjoy their Sunday Lunch. As a Family of 6, we enjoyed mains of Lamb and Beef, followed by Desserts. Good selection of Wines/Beers and everything was good quality served by attentive waiting staff. Already looking forward to our next visit, thank you 👍

We were visiting Sheffield from tha USA and had eaten at Silversmiths 18 months ago and was hoping it would be still going. We returned this week and really enjoyed the ‘dining club’ idea, and again the food was excellent. I wanted to return again in our nine day stay but the wife wanted to try other restaurants (but secretly wanted to return to Silversmiths). As in all good marriages we compromised and brought three family members with us for an excellent Sunday lunch (kudos to the sticky toffee pudding). Fully recommend you to anyone within earshot. Whoever’s cooking, my advice would be to hang onto them.

Came for Sunday lunch prior to going to the cinema. The welcome, the food and the service was faultless. The Sunday lunch menu is a showcase in how to do dining out where the emphasis is on quality, yet is also great value for money We would all recommend Silversmiths.

The mid week menu at Silversmiths was ideal - 5 or 6 choices for each course and all at reasonable prices. The food itself was tasty and delicious, with a wonderful Asian fusion. The portion sizes were very good too. It is unusual for us to order three courses as we get full after two. But we had room for a pudding, which was great as I got to sample the best rice pudding I have ever had. The service was brilliant and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We can’t wait to return and sample more. My wife took photos of her food - Pork tenderloin with dauphinoise potatoes followed by chocolate delice with orange ice cream.

We were going for brunch for my friends 60th and looked at menus from 3 venues , 8 of us had brunch here on 23rd March . The venue was lovely, the staff were lovely - the food was lovely but - tiny portions ! Although served on a dinner plate the food would have fit on a saucer . We all were dissatisfied at the amount of food served / tho the drinks were good . It was the most expensive so we were expecting more .

I think it's great value for money. I think most restaurants now are charging mains prices for starters whereas £5 is something brilliant and it's a good amount. Went for a meal here on Friday with my mum and it was exceptional. All the staff were fantastic and incredibly welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious and incredibly fairly priced for how nice it was. The menu selection was perfectly curated and I look forward to returning to try future menus. I would highly recommend it (and I rarely leave reviews for places).

We had an absolutely amazign time celebrating our colleagues retirement party at the Silversmiths recently. The staff looked after us wonderfully. Even when there was a last minute dietary requirement, the staff went out of their way to ensure everybody was catered for. I can not recommend this restaurant enough!

Mothers Day at Silversmiths Following my experience, I am now waiting to see Silversmiths do a second appearance on Kitchen Nightmares as every table was dissatisfied with many storming out saying they would not be returning. This place is a combination of extortionate pricing, appalling portions and terrible management. The positives: · The waitress was lovely, polite, attentive and apologetic · The plum chutney on the starter had an excellent flavour · The gravy on the main was very good · The dining area was comfortable, with appropriate lighting and music at a level that was pleasant and did not interrupt conversation The negatives: · We left hungry despite having a 3 course meal due to abysmally small portions · The starter portion was small, half a slice of thin toasted bread and the thinnest possible slither of terrine they had been able to cut · The main the beef was all cooked to a single level of ‘doneness’, perfectly rare for myself but far too rare for other guests who had requested well done or medium · The main the roast potatoes were hard in the centre, clearly not a roasting variety and the cheapest they had been able to lay their hands on · The leeks on the main were virtually unidentifiable, cut fine and cooked to death in a white / grey coloured sauce with guests asking ‘what’s that?’ · The parsnip on the main was just a quarter of a parsnip, poorly coloured but tasty · The dessert (by far the worst of the courses for appallingly small portion) could fit on a single spoon, the baklava consisted of two pieces of approximately 3cm in length, a little bit of some sort of puree and 2 cubes of Turkish delight, the sticky toffee pudding consisted of a single cube of pudding of little more than an inch, a small ball of oddly flavoured icecream, a few chocolate shards, a bit of sauce and some stray pistachios, clearly not intended for the dish but accidentally added as they’d done the baklava’s for the same table. · The manager was running round like a headless chicken dealing with complaints about the food which was quite distracting and probably should have told them something was seriously wrong with the menu. There were numerous complaints I observed covering people being unable to taste the flavours they were expecting, to portions (lots of these, even from children, there was a young boy who loudly exclaimed 'but mummy where's the rest of my pudding? I like big puddings'), the pricing of the poor portions, the level of cooking (with many being unhappy about the rare beef / pork served) and the quality of facilities (covered later). · I personally complained to the manager as I went to the toilet when we arrived only to be tipped to the floor as it was not secured to the wall / floor. I then returned just before leaving to find that the faulty toilet was still open with no out of order notice, I raised to the waitress who summoned the manager. The manager was rude, questioning why I would return to the toilet knowing it was faulty, I pointed out I had done him a favour reporting it so that it could be closed as someone less able could potentially be injured. He just muttered he hadn’t had time; personally I would think customer safety should be a priority. · Although it didn’t bother our party, they had advertised a free glass of prosecco for mum on arrival (given we were having mothers day menu) but this wasn’t even offered. · The waitress although attentive couldn’t answer basic questions about the menu and didn’t know for example that certain drinks only came in a one size (not pints / half’s)

Recently visited with a friend and ate from the February Supper Club menu. If you've not eaten here before I'd definitely recommend a visit. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and because you aren't rushed between courses it gives you chance to appreciate the food which we both thought was excellent!! The service from our waitress , who was lovely, was faultless. We'll certainly be back again soon to sample the March menu.

Went for Sunday lunch. Excellent value for money at £20 for two courses. The beef was slightly too bloody but was served on a generous pile of roasted carrots, parsnip and potatoes, with creamed cabbage and plenty of gravy. Paid extra for cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire puddings. Good, friendly service too!

A special birthday celebration for 10 people. The food was great as was the service but completely compromised from the beginning of the meal and hussled to leave by 3 pm when booked lunch for 1pm. No mention on website that sittings were 2 hour slots .Therefore no time for deserts, coffees etc and had to glut down our drinks which tainted the whole experience. Will not be going back , which is a shame and staff not overly accommodating given the bill was around £300 , it felt like they couldn’t wait for us to move on! We always try to patronise local chefs but very let down by this restaurant. Shame .

We had bottomless brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The service was excellent. The menu choices for both food and drink were really varied. We had a really great afternoon in a lovely ambient atmosphere.

Was overall a nice evening with very tasty food. We come to silversmiths a lot and were keen to try out their new tasting menu for a bit of a change. There were just a couple of points I wanted to give as constructive feedback. There were two dishes out of the four dishes which consisted of a Thai curry sauce, one red and one green which I felt the dishes came across as very ‘samey’ especially as the meat element was cod and monkfish which both have quite a similar consistency. Both very yummy but I think the cod would have benefitted from a different sauce for more variety. Some of the dishes we couldn’t identify the ingredients on the menu, for example on the chicken or the egg course, we couldn’t see the egg yolk or the chicken broth. Maybe it was mixed in with the set custard but if we could have seen the different elements it would have made the dish more exciting. I’m not quite sure what happened with the dessert but it wasn’t very nice at all, there was an excessive amount of coconut mush at the bottom topped with a ganache that was grainy and split. There was no cookies and cream to be seen or vanilla foam. However there was popping candy and goji berries which weren’t on the menu? Very strange and disappointing end to a rather delicious meal. I know the concept is new and I hope with a bit of tweaking it will get much better :)

One very thin slice of tasteless beef that wasn't particularly well cooked. I like rare beef, but this was fatty and chewy. Cauliflower cheese was burnt...that takes some doing! Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes tasted like they were frozen. Potatoes....think school dinners. Grey/brown creamed leeks were tasteless. Got to be honest, a Sunday lunch from the likes of a Vintage Inn is 10x better. Such a shame.

We went for a roast which itself was really good! Lovely rare beef, perfect yorkshires and veggies. Buuut starters and puddings were a bit of a let down, small and not high quality. I got a beetroot and goats cheese tart, sadly pastry was soggy and couldn't taste any goats cheese. Atmosphere was okay but sat next to quite a rowdy table with alot of complaints which always sours things, not necessarily the restaurants fault but table was VERY close so couldnt escape it.

Went there Saturday early evening at 6pm for pre theatre dinner. My wife had the steak and I had the burger plus I had the croquette starter and we both had the lemon tart to finish. Really tasty dishes and nice atmosphere. Staff very friendly...

Food is okay but the puddings were a let down (we ordered banana bread and the tiniest Panna cotta ever!). The fries were delicious. Good service.

We had very hopes looking at the reviews and came 10mins prior to our booking. We got off to a good start ordering our drinks and Starters which were very good. However our mains was not so great. Being a family of 4 two of the dishes came out 15mins before the others. My wife and son had to start their meals as they would have gone cold! We ordered extra gravy and also Yorkshire Puddings which didn’t come out until the other two dishes which at this point both my wife and son had finished their meals. It wasn’t a family meal as we ate separately. The waitresses were very apologetic but I felt the meals should have been held back as we would have waited to have a meal together as a family. Upon asking for the Bill we had our Yorkshire Puddings taken off but this was no where near to making up for what was an awful experience. Unfortunately we will not be returning as the restaurant did not live up to expectations. The restaurant did send an email asking about our experience to which we did respond the above. But their offer of a few drinks was not good enough given the £120 spent for a poor family meal and one we ate separately from one another. We had no choice to eat it as the alternative was to leave and pay for a meal we haven’t had. More disappointing was the fact that no one senior came over to apologise or try to rectify or make any attempt to make the experience better. On leaving no attempt was made as a way of apology. A very poor experience and we declined the drinks offer as we felt this was not enough.

Came as a couple, on a short-notice booking. Had good availability. Staff were great. Restaurant was lovely (toilets needed some repairs), but the dining area was good. All Food arrived quickly. Starters were INCREDIBLE. Well balanced, good portion size, great. Mains were good, not great....

We chose this restaurant because it is rated one of the best in Sheffield and it didn't disappoint. All three courses were excellent and we particularly enjoyed the prawn soup and mutton spring roll.

A delicious Sunday lunch. Really high quality food, perfectly cooked. Good, friendly and efficient service too. It was a birthday lunch and a lovely place to celebrate with family

We went for bottomless brunch on a Saturday afternoon and was not disappointed. The food was beautifully presented and tasted the same and the drinks, especially the cosmopolitan was strong and tasty. Definitely will be returning.

Where to start, the food was tepid or cold, the cocktails varied from good to poor, no consistency-even the same ones. On the food, items missing..no hollandaise sauce on eggs Benedict..also the portion sizes were tiny. The service appeared to be chaotic…which I appreciate it...
