A breathtaking display of all things Christmas. Beautiful colours and gorgeous items for any kind of Christmas tree. We had lunch in the very busy cafe. Having read previous reviews about long queues but we got there early and though there was a couple of people in front of us, we got a table quite quickly. Food was nothing great but a very enjoyable visit

We had been on our last visit to the area. Had to wait a little while for a table at the cafe, as very busy. Once we ordered food it came quickly. Food was outstanding. Highly reccommend - for meals or cake & coffee. Had a quick look at plants but as on holiday didnt purchase.

Beautiful garden centre with lots of fabulous plants, soft furnishings, ornaments etc. fully dog friendly even in the lovely restaurant (you will be given a note of doggy rules) we took our puppy for his first restaurant outing he was in his carrier and was as good as gold. We sat outdoors until the waitress explained that the indoor is fully dog friendly. We had a wonderful Father’s Day breakfast food was wonderful and great value for money in a lovely atmosphere

Impressed with the menu at the cafe and the quality , definitely worth the wait if you have time! Service was great too and appeared well managed The displays in the actual centre as well as the variety on offer was top notch. Only slight is the price across the cafe and the garden centre. Very high end prices nothing available for budget or even mid range. I understand you pay for quality but it's just not very inclusive in the centre and only limits the clientele. The cafe In my opinion is fairly priced but still high end so best to know what to expect. Have been back several times since :)

Choice of cakes was fabulous. Coffee was lovely. Unfortunately I had a cake that had fruit on top which was cut so thin I was left with a slither of strawberry and one blueberry. Portion size was shocking. Shame .

Another great lunch in the coffee shop at Silverbirch Garden Centre. The staff are always courteous and give great service. It was busy today and staffing appeared to be limited (as it would for a month in the Winter) but the team kept focused, were friendly and the food was delicious. Hubby had a dessert which he had pleasure in explaining how light the sponge was and tasted fantastic with the oodles of cream he had!! I will be back after Lent to try a portion for myself, hopefully it will still be on the menu. Well done team. , looking forward to our next visit.

First visit and impressed by varied menu and pleasant and efficient staff. Unfortunately will not return due to the presence of a customer at an adjoining table feeding her dog on her lap at the table. I have no problem with dogs on the premises as I am a dog lover but this is quite unacceptable. When I mentioned it to a member of staff they didn't seem to think this was an issue. Really?

Breakfast was nice, lovely service. The shop's Christmas displays are absolutely beautiful but unfortunately there are crazy amounts of fragrance everywhere throughout. It is completely overpowering and a serious trigger for people with asthma, migraine or allergies. The irony is there are so many you can't even smell the individual ones anyway, it is just a wall of extreme scent! We could only manage a short dash around before leaving because of this. I can only imagine they must make a lot of money from these as it never used to be that bad. Unfortunately it's put me off going back as it really was unbearable which is a shame as it's been one of the most beautiful places I go to for Christmas displays and decorations for a long time and the staff do a great job.

I enjoyed the cafe - ordered bacon & avocado on toast and it was pretty standard, the staff are friendly, food + drinks came out quickly and even though there was a massive queue we weren't waiting for too long. Also, it's reasonably priced. As previous posters have said there are quite a few dogs (but I guess it's subjective as to whether this is a good or a bad thing!) However, the Christmas decorations in the shop were disappointing... really expensive prices for what were (in my opinion) quite boring, low quality items. Also a very strong smell of incense / candles which was overpowering and just made me want to leave ASAP. The overall display of the items was nice though...!

Beautifully presented Christmas collection and ornaments etc. Lovely to see but would need a very large house for a lot of the trees , garlands etc. Very expensive for most items. Toilets only available in the cafe which wasn’t very practical as there was a long queue outside which was not very practical in the pouring rain, so just abandoned the idea.

Had to leave restaurant/ coffee shop early due to the number of dogs ( 4/5 on the day of our visit ) ! On a very wet day , dogs in a restaurant are a no-no . In fact on any day , dogs in a restaurant are a no- no . Trying to enjoy coffee and snacks with the smell of dogs and barking dogs is a step too far . Watching members of staff making a fuss of the dogs ,petting them and then continuing to serve food to tables is a health and safety issue , as well as bad practice . I look forward to a response re this review .

Excellent small cafe / restaurant. The food was excellent, the staff very helpful and enthusiastic and they like dogs. So refreshing. And the prices are competitive. The garden centre is different from the others in the Clyde Valley. Trees and plants were impressive and healthy and today, they had an amazing selection of tree peonies. The indoor goods for sale are of a higher standard and quality from the competition. While prices may seem higher than other places, don’t forget the old saying, “You only get what you pay for.” We will be back again with our quiet, well behaved dog.

Enjoyed a nice lunch with my friend. Planned on getting coffee and cake but another two customers arrived to table beside us with two dogs. One dogs tail was literally whacking my leg, I have severe allergies so spent the rest of my day with itchy eyeballs! I cannot understand why anyone would enjoy eating whilst smelling wet dogs? Beyond disgusting, put me off completely. I understand that people love dogs I even have a few favourites myself…but they are animals and sharing my eating space with an animal turns my stomach, hairs ticks and god know what else lurking around. Blows my mind that this has become acceptable in society! 🤯

Silver birch is by far the nicest garden centre I have ever been to and I don’t mind driving 40 minutes to get there!! I never really buy anything for my garden but their interiors/home furnishings are beautiful! Their displays throughout the year are always fab & at Christmas time it’s jaw dropping!!! If I had a fortune I could easily spend it here!! The cafe is also very good, really nice inside with a lovely outdoor raised decking area. If you haven’t been before I would highly recommend!👍🏻

Summed up, it is what i would describe as chaos. Restaurant-- Visited on a busy saturday and there was a hellishly long wait time to get a table in the restaurant and the food and service was below average. Arrived at 11.30am and the restaurant queue was a mile long (heavens kmows why) and the staff did not manage the queue at all. For an extremely busy Saturday, there appeared to be only 2 waitresses in service who were rushed off their feet. Stood at the top of the queue for ages as we were a slightly larger table, a table of 5 but what annoyed me was there was nobody managing the queue, applogising for the wait, handing out menus to the those at the top of the queue which would have speeded up the system slightly. I had to ask to see a menu whilst we were waiting at the top of the queue. Ordered two ciabattas and 2 fish and chips and a macaroni. The macaroni was the only meal that was 'ok'. The fish and chips was like something you'd serve a 3 year old, the peas were hard and cold, the fish was just breaded fish out a freezer, chips nothing special. The chicken bacon and avo ciabattas were tasteless, the small side salad was the best part of the meal. Noone came to ask if food was OK, noone came to ask if we wanted anything else, we had to prompt the waitresses for everything, even to clear the plates and get the bill even though there was so many people still waiting at 2pm. Bathroom - There is only one bathroom at the restaurant, no bathrooms at the main garden centre which added to the chaos. But the thing that bothered me was the bathrooms are disgusting, dirty and run down, with poor facilities, not even a place to hang your coat on thr back of yhe door and both cubicles had only very slightly opaque windows giving limited privacy. Garden Centre - After leaving the restaurant we found ourselves in another queue a mile long to enter the main garden centre, and it was chaos with too many people inside and things being broken left right and centre with not much space between tables and decorations to move. Decorations are beautiful but the vast majority are vastly over priced. There is nothing else to see apart from Christmas decorations which was a disappointment. Drove over and hour to get there, spent more time queuing and experiencing bad service than spent shopping so I think somethings not working for this Garden Centre and wouldn't recommend a visit on a weekend for sure. Go somewhere else with better food and service and more to see.

I fully agree with other reviews that the staff at the SilverBirch have not got a clue and are incompetent. I visited yesterday with my elderly mother and 2 young children, my mum had £75 in garden vouchers to put towards the plants and other items we had picked up. The manner of the girl at the till was not great to say the least, and struggled with putting through the vouchers she then questioned if we had money on the vouchers, and checked with a supervisor if they accepted them, the supervisor said they don’t have a scanner so I would need to call up the number on the voucher to register, which I thought was a bit silly but we had taken a long time to pick the plants and other items so I called the number and got it confirmed you don’t need to register the vouchers and I had £75 to spend. I explained this to the girl who basically shrugged her shoulders. So we left the SilverBirch empty handed. We spent our vouchers and more in the Rosebank who don’t have a scanner either, they confirmed you just slide the voucher down the side of the contactless machine - same at dobbies!!

Staff walking about with masks under noses with one constantly pulling hers up then handling utensils. Food was definitely not worth £8.50. Small fish full of bones with frozen oven chips and almost uncooked peas. Wont be back. Also on way out , there was a very long queue which was lined up alongside all the people trying to eat at outside tables. No clear signs, customers entering and leaving from same stairs. Inside the shop wax even worse. Chaos ! In total a waste of £30 for a rushed, stressful lunch

I purchased the last Singapore lounge set in store on Saturday afternoon. The item had a sign stating “LAST ONE” so I immediately consulted a member of staff (Rona) so I could buy the item. The sale was successful; my payment went through on the system and I received an invoice. A SOLD sign was then put on the lounge set as I left. I was advised delivery was likely to be Tuesday (which should have been today). After the purchase that evening, I put my current garden set up for sale and successfully sold it, with it picked up on Sunday. I then received a phone call from Rona on Monday afternoon to tell me that she had bad news and that the set had been purchased by another customer that day and that they would refund me ASAP. Understandably upset, I argued that it had been sold to me and I had proof of purchase, but she didn’t seem interested.Mistakes do happen; however I cannot stress enough how disappointed I am in the lack of concern from the store. They have made no attempt to compensate me or offer me an alternative solution. They have ignored my emails of complaint which has left me no option but to write a bad review. I am now left without any garden furniture for the summer and it will be very unlikely I get anything else as everywhere seems to be sold out.

Travelled 30 minutes for a Christmas Day out with the family. Have came her multiple times in the past and will most definitely never return. Whilst my mum was videoing some baubles she liked (free promotion for the business) she tripped over a ladder with the bottom leg lying straight over a communal walk way. The issue here is with a breach of health and safety. Our first instinct was the lack of hazard signs. I immediately alerted a member of staff for both our safety, others safety and for the business as if someone fell, they would fall into the decorations. I alerted a specific member of staff who looked like a manager (however, unsure) who had a disgusting attitude throughout. She was not interested at all. Not a single sorry or apology. I had advised for the safety of others and their business if they could signpost this and I got a look of disgust and then she simply walked away from us. I left straight away after this. I could not stand to spend money in this garden centre after being spoken to in such a way. Disgraceful. Completely patronising and lack of concern for ourselves and future customers alike.

We visited today and it was super busy. They did a fantastic job of controlling the queues into the garden centre and did temp checks at the door before you can come in so a big thank you for that, it was a great idea and I felt very safe about who was in the shop. The shop was beautifully decorated with Christmas bits, it felt like a wonderland. But the only problem was that the minute you walk into the garden centre it was almost like a free for all, no one was social distancing and there was no systems in place. I feel maybe to help the flow and crowd control is to do an one way system through out the shop to avoid people crowding around one place and pushing around to get to the next room. This way we can easily see the whole shop and all the beautiful decorations you sell.

The garden plants area is extensive with a better than usual selection and in August some great 2 for one bargains.

Had lunch with my mum and three year old grandson. Brilliant setting and fantastic food at a reasonable cost. Well worth a visit.

Recently visited with my wife for a light lunch . We were both disappointed with the quality of our tuna sandwiches which came on plain slightly stale bread with no butter . We were advised by a member of staff that they do not provide butter as there is demand from locals for it.. Surely if this is the case

I first visited this establishment in 2009 and have returned numerous times since. On the latest occasion my wife and I dined in the Coffee Shop with our grandchildren, aged 12 and 10, and two friends. The quality of the food has always been very good, and this time was no exception. The weather was excellent and the Halloumi / Tomato Salad was an ideal dish, in the circumstances, which certain members of our party particularly enjoyed. The lentil soup and sandwiches selected by others were also heartily devoured. The cafe staff,as previously encountered, are both friendly and efficient.

This was our first visit to this garden centre, which seems quite classy. It appears to be an ideal place to go for expensive furnishings for the interior as well as the exterior of the home. We didn’t use the restaurant so I am not able to comment on that.

I visited silverbirch with my two friends for lunch one Saturday a couple weeks ago and it was wonderful! We travelled through from Ayr for the day as we heard about how fabulous this place was as I had seen photos on Facebook and it truly was. Beautiful garden centre with amazing interior design ideas and lovely defusers and candles which they make their self’s. lovely little cafe with amazing cakes and food on offer. It is dog friendly, most big dogs have to sit outside which I understand as the cafe is small but little dogs were allowed in. Lovely staff, we had a young girl with long brown frizzy/curly hair serving us in the cafe (17/18 yrs) who was so polite, I think her name was Katy. We talked to her for about 5 minutes and she was very friendly and she kept coming back to talk to us throughout our time there.she seemed very positive and suggested things that we may like and also helped us pick our cakes, I had the meringue which was huge! Also a very lovely gentleman who also stood and talked to us who seemed very energetic. Overall I would highly recommend it’s great if your looking for a wee day out

This has been our favourite Garden Center in the Clyde Valley for years. There is a good selection of plants but Silverbirch’s main attraction is the excellent selection of furniture, lamps and accessories. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful and there is a very popular restaurant.

I visited Silverbirch with my Paps yesterday, in the pursuit of buying some new plants for his garden. I approached a worker (middle-aged gentleman with grey hair and slight beard) to ask for some assistance. We were looking for plants with bright colours yet little maintenance as my Paps is elderly with very bad eye sight; he's registered blind. I mentioned all of this to the worker as I asked for his assistance, out of earshot from my Paps as to not embarrass him, however the service we received was incredibly disappointing. The gentleman's very first comment in the conversation was condescending towards my Paps and his overall manner was rude and distasteful - it couldn't have been more apparent that he couldn't at all be bothered with our custom. The worker picked up a plant beside him, one that had long leaves which fanned out from its centre, and put it into the trolley that my Paps was holding onto for support, which very visibly flicked my Paps in the face. After I moved the plant away, the worker selected another similar plant and done the exact same thing, with the plant flicking my Paps in the face again. I did not want to make a scene in front of my Paps, again as to not embarrass his pride or to cause a scene, however, this gentleman severely let Silverbirch down. I am a regular customer and have recommended this Garden Centre to many friends and family and this treatment is truly appalling, especially to a customer who requires a little extra patience and care.

Great home made tomato and basil soup. The mac n cheese is really cheesy and tasty. The burgers are great too. Weve been here several times and the food has always been decent.....lots of home made cakes, fresh and good portion sizes. You even get ice in your drinks.

Went to the Silver birch for a spot of lunch with the other half and shouldn’t have bothered we both ordered Soup and a sandwich lentil soup was cold tasteless purred and at £7.50 for soup and a sandwich slapped with margarine certainly won’t be back eye watering prices for sub standard food very disappointing

Popped in for lunch today , lovely setting , very friendly staff. Good food , but I managed to resist the cakes which looked great. It was quiet today , but sure it would be as busy as the rest on weekends. Will definitely return , it looked like the shop was having a revamp , so I’ll be back to see new lines when available.

Called into this garden centre out of curiosity. Wow. The goods for sale in the store are absolutely terrific. So different from the other valley garden centres. This one has such a choice of house items it's mind boggling

Whilst not garden centre goers we stumbled across here at Christmas and returned recently as we found the restaurant to have a lovely cosy feel with reasonable food, great cakes and coffee. Somewhere we would return and recommend. The shop has some lovely unique items giving some good ideas and inspiration for home decor too boot.

I enjoy Silverbirch’s Christmas decor and always purchase some decorations. You can easily spend over an hour wandering their wares in the three rooms packed with trinkets and curiosities.

Visited the garden centre and Christmas shop last weekend. We then popped in for lunch. The prices were very steep e.g. £6/7 for a baked potato however the food was decent so it's swings and roundabouts. The coffee was nice and the coffee shop itself was decorated pleasantly.

I go here regularly and the service is usually fast and friendly. The food is well priced and filling but a revamp of the menu wouldn't go amiss. Unfortunately the silverbirch garden centre restaurant is starting to tarnish.
