Silver Springs Nursery & Garden Centre in Winchester

Went yesterday (Mother’s day) with the whole family! Food was amazing and service was just as good! Lovely touch with the little mother day gift bags too. 100% recommend.

Popped in here as it is one of the few dog friendly garden centres nearby. The food was delicious and very good value (meal £10 which included a drink). Will definitely return

Starting visiting just before Christmas and now our favourite place to go for lunch. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Love the kiddies area and being dog friendly. We really can bring the whole family

My husband and I used to go to this restaurant a few times a week and loved some of the staff who were friendly and helpful. I loved the range of gluten free cakes but…on our last visit I was appalled at the number of dogs in the place, barking, sitting on settees, eating off the tables and generally making a smelly nuisance of themselves. I complained and pointed out that dogs and heir owners could have sat outside which is better and less stressful for the dogs and others who don’t like or are nervous around dogs. However I was told in no uncertain terms that they are a dog friendly cafe and would remain so not matter what I thought. That there was a section of the cafe for dogs and I could sit in the other part. The area given over for dogs has the best seats and ambience making it plain to see where their priorities lie. So if you like sharing your food with other peoples pets, having to brush dog hairs off your clothes whenever you have visited here and love the sound of yapping dogs, then this is the place for you. It is no longer the place for us.

Food was nice but extremely expensive for what it was. As you can see in the picture there is not much food. It was a kids meal but for £6.50 I would expect much more, or the same amount of food but much cheaper. I think about £3.50 or £4 would be reasonable.

This is a lovely place with a great cafe BUT they don't accept cash! Can't support a place that doesn't accept cash. Some people, especially the elderly still rely on cash and we can't allow the cashless agenda to be forced on us. Please change back to accepting cash and I'm sure you will be much busier!

The garden centre is lovely, the coffee lounge is very nice and the staff are friendly. But I won't be going back or recommending the lounge due to lacke of structure the management have. I had a baby shower with them and when arriving the food was not what was agreed, there was people in the area I was holding my shower which shouldn't of been the case, dirt plates and cups that we had to move ourselves. We had to rearrange the hole area due to them having it set out as an afternoon tea and not a buffet like it was agreed on. Due to the dietary requirements myself and a couple of the other guests wasn't able to have the food, so could only have what we had brought (which wasn't a lot) and We had to buy drinks separately to what had to the agreed as they had gone against what was agreed and done they own thing. I was waiting on the management to contact me regarding all of this but have had no communication from the management team regarding any of my disappointment. I'm hoping to hear from the management team in regards of my disappointment and complaints I wish to put in with themselves.

They dont take cash. No sign or notice anywhere in the cafe or entrance .Only had cash available to pay and was told very abruptly that card only. I asked where any notice was and the rude server just said havent got one ans just shrugged her shoulders. With a choice of 3 other garden centres and coffee shops nearby we will now be going elsewhere

Had a really lovely lunch with my daughter. Food was delicious and staff lovely, will definitely be a regular, and returning soon 😍😍

Visit here with friends for breakfast quite often. Food is always great and the staff are lovely too.

We visit here very regularly and find the staff to be very friendly, the food is great, however the music is terrible and far, far too loud!!! Please just play easy listening!!

Booked for afternoon tea with a group of friends and was really impressed. Not the usual tea, we chose the deluxe version which had other savouries including scotch egg, quiche and sausage rolls amongst the traditional sandwiches. The sweet selection included homemade pastries and eclairs with the familiar scones, cream and jam. Everything seemed homemade and fresh. Service good. Highly recommend.

We dropped in for a coffee and snack and sat on the comfortable sofas. We were served immediately and the waitress brought our order over almost before we sat down. I had an apple and blackberry slice and my wife had a warm Danish pastry - very tasty. The cafe was starting to fill up when we were leaving.

We are regular customers and will remain so as the summerhouse and staff are always so welcoming. A great place to come for a cup of tea slice of cake and a great atmosphere. We always get a hello and our pot of tea is being prepared before we get to the till. What more could you ask for?

Arrived at the cafe early afternoon to find it practically empty, no other customer ordering other than myself. Simple enough order : 2 sausage rolls (already cooked & on display) 2 portions of chips and 2 teas. The tea arrived immediately, 20 minutes later no sign of our food? Inquired at the counter & quite clearly (in spite of only two other tables occupied) our order had been forgotten. Waitress comes over 5 minutes later with 1 pastie and 1 portion of chips..... I reiterate the order, she leaves the pastie and chips on our table and goes off..... Returns 5 minutes later with 1 sausage roll and chips, by which time we were so exasperated, my husband said we'll eat what you've given us, no drink to go with because we'd drunk that nearly half an hour ago. Terrible service and totally inexcusable given the lack of customers, I pity anyone going there if it were busy.

We have visited before but this was the first time in the new cafe which is lovely. Very spacious and comfortable with very nice coffee and hot chocolate. Highly recommend!

As we are very local to Silver Springs I thought to try the new cafe.The ambience is superb and the staff were friendly and helpful. But ... the coffee, served in a paper cup, was so small, approximately 150ml, was a huge let down. I find that exceptionally small. Please could the owners consider value for money.

Thought we would try the newly furbished coffee shop and wasnt disappointed. Very clean and bright with hand sanitiser on every table. Had coffee and cake which was lovely. Tables well spread out so you feel very safe dining here. Will be really nice to sit outside in the summer. Well worth a visit

We come here for coffee from time to time and the coffee is good and hot and it is a good cafe. Disabled parking on site a few yards away and toilets available. Not noisy like some cafes.

Seen a lot of reviews on this cafe giving 5 stars so went for. Breakfast to say it was awful was an understatement. My wife ordered a full breakfast bacon was barely cooked and I believe microwaved the mushrooms were tinned and cold literally just thrown on plateI ordered poached eggs with bacon. I had to send it back a eggs were like bullets and was told there were microwaved. bacon was raw so asked to have the bacon done a bit more. again put back in the microwave. Won't be going back.I have a cafe and know if I served this sort of food I would have no customers

Lovely atmosphere quick service the food 🥘 piping hot very tasty, Lovely selection of cakes, plenty of seating, by far the best Garden Center Café in the area, and very reasonably priced excellent!!

Very good choice of food, located next to a pleasant garden centre. The current cafe is in a rather run-down building but they're moving to a new one in the garden centre itself soon.

Had lunch with my family quite nice ,but I have to say I had a chicken curry which was ok but chicken was a little tough ,had plenty of meals there before and they have been fine ,will go back again though ,

Lovely place to visit.Really make you feel welcome and expanding the nursery all the time, so watch this space.The food is great and can have tea and cake or lunch which is a warm and friendly place not noisy a pleasure to visit.They have so many things to look at for sale , lodges, sheds, flowers,conservatory furniture and many many gifts. Well worth a look.

Had my breakfast here this morning and was served by a very polite young lady, and all the other staff in here were all very happy, smiling and helpfull. Well worth a visit, nice and clean and food was good.

Visited for lunch today with a friend, the restaurant wasn't busy. Ordered and paid for drinks after we had eaten our food, and asked the person at the till if she would mind bringing the tray over for me as I am unable to lift. Imagine how I felt when she refused. Your employee needs to understand how demeaning it is to have to ask. My friend kindly went to the desk again for me and carried the tray.I will never return here after such a humiliating experience!

It was advertised in our local newspaper. When we arrived it was obvious that the car park is not wheelchair friendly. The Christmas shop was lacking, sorry to say went across to the garden centre on the other side of the road, which was fantastic

Visited today for lunch and it was really nice very well cooked and served hot. I had chicken and wild mushroom pie, peas and chips. I can't fault anything. Good value for money and friendly staff. I will definitely be back very soon! Highly recommend.

Our meals were served promptly and piping hot. We had two different types of tea and each came in its own pot and freshly made. Dessert was also very tasty and very soon after being ordered.

Stopped for lunch and had toasted Stilton and tomato baps with a pot of tea. Very busy and took a while to arrive, but was worth waiting for. Very good. Plenty of both inside and outside seats and parking. A bit off the beaten track and garden centre ok but nothing special.

We had christmas dinner lunchtime today, Turkey and all the trimmings, and to follow Christmas Pudding and Cream. The service was prompt, delicious and well presented and was much enjoyed by us three. Well done to all the Staff at Silver Springs and a merry christmas to you all.

After a lovely drive to lee on the solent and titchfield haven on our return drive we pulled into silver spring for a break

This place is constantly good. Always have an omelette of some sort. Probably the best omelettes going! Hubby decided to try once this time (usually has something from the specials board , which are always good too.) we both had ham cheese and onion, mine with salad his with chips. Loads of filling and really fluffy. Really tasty. Would throughly recommend.

Called in for a quick lunch, nice and tidy with plenty of tables. Ordered at the counter, given a number and the food was brought to you - all in reasonable time. The panis were off the menu as they had not yet been delivered that day. We had grilled Stilton and tomatoes baps which were excellent. There is a nice varied menu for all tastes - snacks and hot dishes. The tables were cleared very quickly (not left for ages as in some places). On today's experience we would visit again.

Stopped for lunch with my wife. Very nice and clean and good food. Reasonable choice and prices. However ordered Brie and bacon to find no Brie so ordered bacon and cheese on brown bread to be told no brown bread! However the baguette was very good. Service reasonably quick and all freshly prepared.

Often drop in for a mooch around the Garden Centre and then always take coffee there. Pleasant surroundings in the cafe and good staff and choice of drinks/snacks.

Haven't been since the full makeover, cafe is very very crowded, the tables somewht crammed together. There was more space in the new coffee bar area with the tables more spread out. The area was very warm & despite having at least 2 tills open, the wait to place your order was too long.

I visited here as I was passing, the garden centre look large and I found the Café next to the car park.
