Wifi is painfully slow even when its not busy. Wouldve given a number here but it takes too long to get to the speedtest website. Didnt get food so cant comment on it but im sure it fine. Coffee is consistent with other costa.

A lovely branch of Costa. Linda who served us was very happy and the whole team seemed pleasant. Also nice to have the menu on boards rather than screens which cycle through before you've had the chance to read them.

Very friendly service this morning with a nice bap and coffee.

Winchester Costa Coffee is the only one I don't like going to, the place looks depressing, some sofas have torn fabric, there is something in its decoration that makes me never want to go in and stay for a long time, it is the first time I have felt that about a Costa coffee ... I hope they invest something in renovating it.

Told to leave and take my little assistance dog out with me within seconds of standing in queue. Told I needed to provide proof of my animals status?! I told worker to check the law who just seemed to think she was correct, so we turned round left and will never use costa again as you are not aware of assistance dog laws for a start, the fact that I was clearly visibly wearing a disability lanyard stating my autism etc. Educate your staff that dogs do not need to be labelled by law, neither do humans but now that's become a thing. Teach thoughtfulness and compassion to your staff who quickly told me to get out despite saying she was my assist dog.

Busy, as expected on a main high street. At off peak hours it’s spacious and small queues, staff are very friendly and even gave a free cookie with my latte. There is some outdoor seating and plenty of space inside

I don’t normally write any bad reviews but I have to say the state of this restaurant and especially the toilets was a disgrace to Costa and to Winchester. The 2 members of staff looked very stressed and the state of the area behind the counter was also a mess. On a plus side the Chai Latte and cake was nice.

It was a massive shame that the fire alarm got set off. The food here is good and the coffee is fine but I think the response to the fire alarm was to leave a lot of customers waiting for 30 minutes in the line. The toaster was no longer working so they did issue refunds but it’s not a three person job to look at the toaster to see if it’s broken. Didn’t want to ruin their rating because of an unexpected scenario but it could have been felt with differently as a team.

I love Costa Coffee and the breakfast wrap they do, even scrambled egg and tomato in it. Staff friendly happy and professional thank you.

Costa is always fabulous and this one is no exception! Super friendly staff - one young lady went put of her way to help me when I had a problem with the disabled toilet. Coffee was first class and the cakes the girls had were fresh and tasty

Decent coffee as always in Costa. Huge queue and nowhere to sit as it was full. Christmas Market was on and it was a Wednesday.....possibly just picked a very busy time. I'm sure ordinarily it's a great store - one of the biggest I've visited for coffee. My takeaway latte and Christmas pie were well needed.

Popped in on a cold November morning for a cuppa... Tea & coffee all good.. Toilets were filthy, furniture ripped, worn out & dirty and spoons looked like they needed a good wash...

Coffee from chain High Street chains can be a bit of hit and miss. I entered very late in the afternoon, but the friendly staff still took the time to take my order. All I was after was a decent cappuccino, which is what I was served. It was clear that the staff were getting ready to close for the evening, but they did not hurry me in any way.

Unisex toilet area needed servicing. Wet and paper on floor . Coffees and servery service brilliant.

Really tatty. Could do with an upgrade. The China could do with a good scrub too.

Staff are really friendly, but at times can be stretched with the staff shortages. They are doing really well though and make great coffee. A little dull inside could do with a tad brightening up

In need off an update and new table and chairs

I hope the management of Costa read this. There was one single member of staff available after 2 other employees didn't show up. The gentleman in charge was incredible. I was there for 4 hours working on my laptop while he was constantly serving without a 1 min break for fresh air. Never complained in front of the customers about his predicament - just soldiered on. I can't remember his name - but I imagine he is a manager of sorts as he had keys to open up - but he deserves a raise. On the other hand however; you need to find employees who are reliable, because a lot of customers turned away after seeing the lengthy line forming and the number of dirty plates and cups building up on the tables due to their being no one available to clean up. Well done sole employee for your incredible effort that day.

I cant belive that this Costa is not been shut down by an inspection....the building needs renovation, furniture needs to be replaced, walls could use some new paint.... i never been in a Costa like this....there are flies everywhere...there is a smell close to their kitchen....like rotten milk, wich probably explains the flies....desk where dirty, with drink staines on them, sofa is ripped, floor is in terrible condition.....like guys i been in many Costas , but never encountered a place like this...if anyone been in Costa at Newbury, that place is clean, well decorated, its a pleasure just to have a seat there.....highly recommend that place tho!this is an embarrassment for the Costa brand.....management pls do something

Great place to get coffee on the high street

This is a review for the Costa at Weeke Gate, Stoney Lane, which doesn't appear to have its own Tripdavisor entry. My complaint is not with the staff who are always obliging whether it's busy or quiet. No, my problem is with the coffee, which must apply to all Costas. Here's what their website says: "In early 2023, we improved its strength and taste by roasting our beans for just that little bit longer. This subtle change resulted in a more intense blend without losing its smooth taste we know you love. It's bolder, smoother, tastier, better." A survey by Which? published in February 2023 revealed that a medium cappuccino in Costa had 100mg of caffeine. As for my wife and me, we've recently come away from our regular post-shopping coffee at Costa in Weeke feeling wired, hyped up and in need of a couple of glasses of water as soon as we got home. It's happened twice in succession, so it looks like the end of the road from now on.

Coffee was fine and service very friendly but chairs were dirty and full of stains Toilet wasn't very pleasant to use, wet floor and no toilet tissue available.

Disorganised Chaos. Lovely polite staff but no clue of what they’re doing. The poor girl on the till must have been in training but no badge in to let customers know that. Everyone seemed to be waiting an age for their drinks, one had waited 15 mins for a cold latte takeaway, once she had been served. On the plus side when we finally sat down with our drinks 20 mins later the coffee made by the barista maestro was excellent , good job that Costa has good training on the drinks side of things. Only in Winchester for the weekend, not impressed overall which is a shame, I’m a huge Costa fan usually

Good tuna toastie, good cappuccino and fruit cooler, however dad ordered a muffin which never arrived. they were understaffed when it got busy, at the time we went in and ordered, was not busy, when I got the order my dad ordered a muffin which never arrived. Toilets were okay

Understaffed. Even though it wasn't too busy the two staff appeared unable to cope and were making mistakes. The food was fairly standard but the coffee was awful here. Easily the worst Costa I've been to.

This branch of Costa had only just reopened after a sudden closure .Cannot comment on food as there were only a few cakes available .Coffee was to usual standard but the whole ambience of shop was poor , it was open but that was about all and general cleanliness was very poor .Would need to improve considerably for me to go back

I come here most days, the staff are always fantastic

Tried to use eGift card, but server coded credit card instead so although eGift QR read transaction failed. Second attempt read QR but Costa system timeout. Third attempt ok. Tedious and I worried eGift docked several times.

I was going to buy a coffee here, but doors were closed without any reason. People were inside, it’s an absurd situation. Thanks to that, I got nice coffee in Starbucks. Highly not recommended that place.

Coffee & Wrap perfect. Paintwork getting tired. Beginning to become a web cafe. More and more people buying 1 drink and and taking up a table with their laptop's for at least hour and half. Which is really selfish . You need to stop this costa now before it gets out of hand

Massive queue which is fair enough as busy weekend however there is a sign which suggests ordering from the app for service to your table. Left the queue, opened the app - no option to order to your table. Total fail! Left.

Staff were all polite and efficient. Shame that the inside looks tired.

I came to the Winchester High Street Costa with my mother-in-law and toddler as it was my birthday and I got a free treat on the app. I order two drinks and some cake at 16:06. On the app, it said there would be an approximate 5-8 minutes wait. I checked on the order at 16:22 as it had not been made yet and I saw the receipt sitting the counter. I asked if I could be refunded by the store and was told no. I then asked if there was a problem with the order as we had been waiting over 20 minutes for a click and collect order. They said they were busy and I said ok I would try and contact the app for a refund but there wasn't a number to cal. I then came back to get the order since it had been paid for and there was no way to get a refund. At this point, another click and collect customer came and their order was ready. I enquired what time they had placed the order, they said at 16:25. It had taken them only 7 minutes to create that order. After waiting an additional 10 minutes, they said they had thrown away my order and asked what I ordered. I finally got the drinks and cake at 16:44. Honestly, awful experience from a customer service perspective but also from an operations perspective. Not enough staff at the Costa and the staff there are extremely stressed and get upset when you enquire/ask a question. It was a mistake that the order was skipped and thrown away but instead of apologising or explaining, I was met with hostility.

I like Costa and it is my preferred place. When we visited this one there was stock all over the floor and taking up two tables. There was also no cream for hot chocolates or gingerbread lattes despite having just opened for the day. The drinks were quite nice and the table we did get was good.

Coffee is good but I take my own re-usable cup and very often have to ask them to top the cup up as they often give me half a cup

It’s a good Costa Coffee shop in the High Street. Good service.

I ordered 3 latte, no layers at all, when I asked why is no layers, milk on top and coffe on bottom they said that's how we doing, will never come back here

Lovely experience, Baristas were very social and kind. Crowded but they managed to do their job superbly. Atmosphere was chill and the radio was on a comfortable volume. Great selection of both food and drink, usually dissatisfied with Costas but this one was a very nice experience overall. No complaints and if the higher-ups see this, give the staff (especially the short black lady and the tall young white guy) a raise because they deserve it.

Just what I expected from a Costa no more no less

Staff were miserable. Took their time, the cake was very dry, and the flat white was far too large to be a flat white, also it was so hot that the cow’s milk was burnt to a crisp! 🐄🔥 and it was undrinkable for about 10 mins.

Noticed that all round serving area - baristas side - spilt coffee and chocolate powder Milk jugs looked like needed good wash On plus side when I requested my drink to be made again as it wasn't how I'd asked for it there was no hesitation in re making it Toilet was very clean although sink and floor could benefit from a clean

Just stopped at Winchester services and had worst cup of coffee ever experienced! Would have taken it back had we not left the services. To add insult, it cost 3.50 fgs!!!

Really lovely, might need more staff as only one till was running the times I've gone in, but lovely staff, well maintained clean environment and great quality drinks (high praise coming from an ex-barista).
