Lovely friendly chap, great chips, tasty crispy chicken and an awesome lamb samosa- what a treat!

Only given half of my order - challenged it to be given a blank stare.. shocked when I showed the receipt . Response looked shocked - outcome- hello? Avoid Avoid!!!!!!!

i ordered from here for my dinner and was waiting 2 hours from placing my order to recieving it, even though it was estimated 15 minute delivery time. i rang the restaurant and was told that they were short staffed and had one delivery driver (on a friday night) which i understand is stressful for them, however it is up to them to have they staffing issues sorted for busy periods of times and them being understaffed shouldn’t affect the customer. i called the restaurant multiple times for an update and kept getting palmed off with excuses and being told it will take even longer. eventually they turned the phone off so i was unable to get in touch with both the restaurant and the driver. absolutely awful experience and will definitely not be going here again. slightly off topic to this particular issue but the chips also weren’t very nice and the batter on one of my battered sausages was pathetic (barely battered at all). i also order a fizzy bubblegum drink with my child’s meal and received a fruit shoot instead.

Very friendly staff and good food . stopped off for fish cake and peas and a chat about my cycle adventure.This was enough to get me home to Nottingham.

Honestly dont bother, this is my second bad experience (should of learnt from the first) I order well before opening so they got myy order early, when they opened i was given a delivery time of an hour, it took over that and when i called to question it all i got in response was a rude and abrupt "its on its way" the food was mildly warm and the chips tasted stale and dry.

Food is well expensive here..stopped going

We ordered on the Euro finals thinking we would wait hours but the food was delivered hot, fresh and fast which was great. Chips seem to lack any sort of crispiness or crunch.

Went for dinner this evening, went into the shop to order. Order was taken wrong, and then when questioned we were made to feel it was us that were in the wrong. Things were missed off the order that we had to then ask for despite the fact they had been cooked as they were cook to order?! Over priced for what we had. I don't believe that sausage, chips and gravy on a try was worth nearly £7:00 . Hardly any gravy added, should have had it separate. You also can't order cheesy chips unless you want a large portion at £5:00. Surely you can add cheese to a small portion? On the plus side the chips were nice. Will not be rushing back!

Went in tonite found staff extremely rude and unhelpful. Order was wrong and food was poor. Will never step foot in this place again. Absolutely terrible

Good food. Great marinated chicken! Prices were right, and service was great. Get the decor nicer with a nice new sign above the shop it'll look loads better. All in all, I'll return.

Home made naan, splendid kebab, delicious fish and chips. So delighted to have found this place! The children and grandchildren were so pleased when I arrived home with a meal from the Sileby Fish Bar last weekend. Planning to swing by again today.

I like this chippy but that seems to be a debatable fact within the village. Always had nice chips and the fish is nice too. Gets pretty expensive if feeding a large family. One seriously annoying point was that we ordered via uber eats a few weeks back and the order went through but they cancelled it after waiting an hour and a half leaving us very hungry very late at night.

Ordered a large chips and 3 battered sausage. Only had 2 done so was told it would be 5 mins. 2 mins later my order was done. When I got outside and checked they had put a normal sausage in. Went back inside and had a word to be told they couldn’t do anything about it. Absolutely disgusted with the place. Was a family favourite now the can get stuffed.

Fantastic battered chips beautifully fresh and hot lovely skin less mini fish just the right size for one reasonable price better than the sea side ones well recommended

Had the cod and chips for £12 between two of us and was absolutely amazing! Decent portion size both left full and couldn’t fault the meal at all, the cod tasted insane and chips were piping hot delivery time was spot on aswell definitely recommend best fish and chips in sileby and the surrounding villages

Order 35 mins late, fish and chips cold,batter was like eating soggy cardboard, absolutely vile only ate a few of mouthfuls grandsons fish looked like flat pancake,most of the meal in the bin,waste of £17, never again,rang to complain they don't even bother to answer phone.

Your standard local chip shop, nothing particularly off the beaten path about the menu but do you really want there to be? Or do you want some greasy chips and sausage? You want some greasy chips and sausage. That’s the kind of stuff you’ll get here for a good price.

Have eaten here before and food is good but used Uber Eats for the first time tonight snd half our order was missing. Don’t think we’ll bother doing that again - such a shame as food is good but this service really lets it down 😞

Can’t remember the last time we had food from a chip shop that was so lovely. The chicken and mushroom pie was hot and the chips were cooked perfect and as a bonus they were chunky chips.

Placed an order at 16.30 was given an estimated of an hour and half delivery, they decided to wait an hour until 17.30 to cancel this order with no explanation. So after phoning the company, with the worst customer service and was so rudely spoken to by the person on the phone they said it was due to not accepting cash. Would have happily paid on card if this was made aware to us.

It took 2 hours to deliver via Just Eat. Appalling. Turned up luke warm with a whole meal missing (mixed grill) and chips on the 'fish and chips' missing. Oh yeah and a refund for the mixed grill in cash - could easily have told us during the massive 2 hours wait time, giving us the chance to order another meal elsewhere!! Contacted them and then drove down to up the stuff missed out - didn't trust how long it might take to deliver some chips (defeats the object of getting a delivery). And they charged for it - we paid for the inconvenience. How nice. First time we didn't use Bobbos. Bad mistake. Simple message. - USE BOBBOS. I SAY IT AGAIN. Why put up with substandard when you could just have 'normal'. 🙏 Oh the power of a bad review ... Oh yeah, there's a stone in my mushy peas. Yum. Picture attached.

This is the best place ever I bought it and it only took 2 HOURS TO GET HERE that’s amazing and when it came here half of it wasn’t in the box so we went there and we had to pay for something we already have and that’s amazing so I give it 5 Stars USE BOBBOS

We had fish chips and beef burger, also drink and that never came. When I ran I was told it’s only pop. Yes it was only pop but I wanted it. Me and my husband have Been up all night poorly. Won’t use again

I want to suggest to all those negative reviewers that you go there & fetch your meal. Think delivery is the problem, not the place itself. We had fish, scampi and chips today, which we picked up ourselves, and it was all very fresh. The chips were particularly impressive! Enormous portions - "small" fish was dinner plate sized and 2 portions of chips were enough for 5 of us. I recommend this chippie!

Ordered through just eat. Order turned up 45 mins late and was cold. Awful service. Avoid and go somewhere else

If ever cant get hold of bricks due to corona go get a chickenand mushroom pie As we just got one and it was rock hard. Have given them so many chances never again Barrow chippy will be our chippy of choice

Fish and chips. The most awful I have ever had. The last time wasn't very good and no improvement. The guys had pie, which they enjoyed. Has this place changed hands recently?

Ordered food to collect it waited 20 minutes like they advised went to collect they had only just started cooking it the doner meat was raw and cold clearly not ready to be served and the chicken kebab was stone cold disgusting

I went today on 24/12/19 the food must of been in the warmers all lunch time or even yesterday’s food they only could do one doner meat and chips the chips tasted as thou they had been cooked twice the man behind the counter could not add up and charged me incorrectly and took the order wrongly. Please no one else use this shop till a huge improvement from as taken place. I have been very ill and my family after buying food from this shop.

Great services staff are welcoming and the selection of food is good. Not long waiting time for your meal. Very good prices.

Ordered some chips & battered sausages. Only person in at the time as it was almost closing time. People in there were quite happy to put in some new sausages as none were ready and we only exchanged further words when I was asked if I wanted any salt & vinegar. Wonderfully British in keeping the conversation to a minimum whilst they were clearing up and I was playing Pokémon GO. Excellent.

Just paid for quite a big order and this is the result ..... This is most DEFINITELY not a battered sausage. Won't be using Sileby Fish Bar again. Appalled.

Used to love getting food from here but been so disappointed recently! The past few visits the chips have been cold, they’ve got orders wrong and not only that they didn’t wrap the sauce properly so by the time I got home I had a quarter of curry square left in the pot will NOT be coming here again

Waiting 30 minutes for a portion of chicken curry and one of onion rings. I stopped earlier to ask how long it will take for getting this order. I’ve been told that 10 minutes max. These people should fix their clock. Never come back here...

Every order is wrong or something is forgotten but still charged, this time we waited nearly 2 hours, had to ring them twice after to which they said a further 15 mins, after 25 minutes the food arrived no apology and also forgot something, tastes rubbish, service is disgraceful and would not recommend to anybody that chip shop has gone down hill!

Lamb madras chips and naan bread with white rice, it was surprisingly good I thoroughly enjoyed it, the flavour was good and the lamb was cooked to perfection, not dry at all, it was hot just as expected for a madras. The chips were good not quite as good Rothleys chip shop but much better than Bobbos which has a distintive taste of cheap overcooked oil/lard.

Went in for chips and battered sausage. Nice enough and not too expensive. Good sizes of portions and not too busy. No Dandelion & Burdock at the time though which is almost a chip shop staple to me. Nothing amazing, but not dreadful.

Thought I would give them another try, even worse than the first time, sloppy wet chicken strands in a naan kebab and cold chips. Won’t be using this chippy again

This place has gone down hill in recent months, a large portion of chips used to be enough to feed two of us, now it barely feeds one, I think it depends on who is actually serving you. Hopefully find a better chippy

Moved to the area a couple of months ago and first trip this chip shop in February. I went with my daughter as we were so tired from all the moving.

Went to visit today and the stated opening time was 4:30pm. Three hours later the place was still not open. If this is due to Ramadan, some signage about later opening times would have been appreciated.

Best chips I’ve ever eaten non greasy nice and big and chunky. The fish was cooked beautifully and the batter was light and crispy with not grease lovely well worth a visit

They serve the biggest potions and in my opinion its the best cooked fish and chips i've had from a chippy in a long time. The chips are cooked through lovely and the fish are like whales! very good value for money and friendly staff. Moved into the village nearly 2 years ago and its great to have a chippy like this.

Decidimos probar un pescado y patatas fritas una noche durante nuestra visita. Nos pusieron una gran orden y se llenaba de gente justo después. El chef y los servidores estaban bajo mucha presión y empezó a convertirse en Grosero y brusco.

Delicious chicken tikka on homemade nan. Great value with generous portions. Not tried fish but it always looks good. Pleasant staff

Sorry but I can only bad review a venue that advertises it is open, but is in fact closed. Why bother advertising your availability on various sites and menu services if we can't buy food?!

Desde noviembre/diciembre su lugar ha empeorado. Solía venir al menos una vez a la semana para la familia fish and chips.

Every Thursday lunchtime meal comes from here the cod is cooked fresh batter very crispy your not left hungry they do their own pizzas your choice cooked fresh they even do deliveries now.

Change of fortunes really, Bobbo's used to be (IMO) far better but Sileby Fish Bar is not far better since being under new ownership. The indian bits they do are amazing and the portion sizes are ridiculous!

You get a LOT of food for your money here. Chips portions are big, doner meat is great and the sausages are filling. You can feed about three - four people for just over £5.

Lo suficientemente decente pero por desgracia queda eclipsada por 'tiempo' y a la solla en Rothley cerca, lo cual es de primera categoría. Buen pescado y patatas fritas y lo suficientemente agradable servicio.

empecé a ir aquí desde que abrió y honestamente puedo decir que es uno de los mejores pescados y Chip tiendas que jamás he visto. Como los demás me gusta el pollo Tandoori en un pan. Nanns son fresco y son deliciosos, con escasa generosos de pollo y una selección completa de ensalada fresca. Las raciones son tan grandes que final poniendo el pollo en mis sándwiches para el día siguiente. Pescado y patatas fritas son igual de bueno, normalmente fresco como usted espera (vale la pena la espera). La señora allí es muy amable y siempre tiene tiempo para hablar rápido - te hace sentir muy bienvenido. No puedo esperar para que se abren a un restaurante propiamente dicho sentarse si eso es lo que tienen planeado!

I have been to sileby fish bar numerous times over the past few year. I have always found all their staff to be lovely, helpful and efficient. I'm not too sure what this other reviewer is talking about to be honest. They are always quick and polite! And the cook the food beautifully! It's a fish and chip shop not a Michelin star restaurant I don't expect silver service! Just a smile! And that's what I and other customers get every time! Oh their naan breads are very tasty I would recommend those

Excellent food. The young "lady" who served me was really rude, not for the first time either. Will travel further just to avoid being served by her. Disappointing.

Wonderful fresh baked naan with a choice of chicken tikka, doner or tandoori chicken fillings, and a generous salad too. Not a sit in restaurant (yet), but a great take-away and I have never been disappointed. Full range of fish & chip options too and they are of equally good quality, but the kebab is the winner. One tip, be hungry....the portions are generous!

The tandoori chicken Kebab is massive & very tasty. My friends & I now enjoy the Sileby Kebab Challenge. One kebab & a large chips. Give it a go. It's tough!Fish & chips also brilliant. The fish is More fish than batter (my preference) & the chips are chunky and never greasy. Top kebabs, Top Chippy Tea!

If you like a kebab then this is the place to go. Talk about massive!!! They make you a massive naan bread wrap then add a ton of meat and salad. I can't eat one to myself and have to share it with my daughter
