Been going here for a little while now. Everything is great. Food is excellent.

Highly recommend this chip shop, you have to wait for a few minutes because it's freshly cooked. Well worth the wait though one of the best chippy's in the county. Regularly go there and never been disappointed

The best chips I've had since moving to Leicester >6 years ago. Have tried at least 8 other fish & chip shops north of Leicester in that time and this one's chips were by far the best. Will definitely be my "go to" one going forward.

Stopped off at Ibis on way to Lincoln. Pleasant walk through quiet streets. Friendly willing staff. Excellent portion of cod and haddock and one regular chips more than we could finish. Fish expertly cooked and tasty.. Generous portion. A really good find.

Just bought a chicken and mushroom pie, it was disgusting! payed alot of money for absolute rubbish. Tasted funny, not cooked properly. So dissapointed.

Portions are smaller and the opening times are hit and miss. But they are brilliant if you, vegan, vegetarian or have food allergies. Still the better chip shop in birstall

Went today no customer service 4 people for food in front of me waiting and now have food poisoning

The fish and chips from here are the best that I’ve ever tried. The chips and fish are cooked to perfection! The staff were amazing with their service, I would definitely recommend this place.

Update to the below. Nothing else to say other than chips portion size is now perfect!!!! Great chips. Food is great. Chips are fantastic quality but the portion size is atrocious.

Only ordered here twice but both times AMAZING! Will keep coming back now and the order system on their website is great! So convenient! You guys are now the salt to our vinegar 😉

Used to be very good but quite poor now. Quality not good enough. Hopefully they notice the constant theme of the reviews and try harder.

Visited last night. No customers served immediately. Very clean and bright friendly service. Ordered pie and chips twice. Pies were tepid at best and the chips were boiled in oil not fried, very soggy zero crunch

The chip sizes were absolutely awful. One large and one small chips put together was one regular. It was ridiculous.

This used to be an awesome chippy, but since it was taken over it has gone down hill. I had a pie which looked like it had anemia and the chips were not chippy chips but French fries. I hope things improve but I won’t be going back when it’s like this.

I use to boast about how awesome this chip shop was to all my family, friends , work colleagues etc. But since being taken over it’s unbelievable how downhill it’s gone. Yesterday we had chicken kebab , chips and sausage. All of it taste bad. What was a weekly treat is now a case of “not going there again “ I hope things change in the future. Staff are lovely.

Drastically gone downhill since being taken over by the new owners. I used to rave about this shop but it's sub-par now and I really don't rate it. Staff seem lovely but the food never seems to be particularly hot, batter tastes off and chips always taste stale. A real shame.

The two young ladies serving were very friendly and the food was piping hot and fresh. I would highly recommend.

Ordered food online, with the hope of getting it delivered. Website tricked me into ordering for collection. So I drive out there and the staff just ignore me in the shop, and I end up having to leave. Bad customer service. Definitely not suitable for anyone with any form of anxiety or a learning disability

Always a delight ordering from here! Batter is light fluffy and perfectly crisp. Chips are always fresh, soft and fluffy, no matter the time of year. Service is outstanding with happy and friendly staff. Keep up the excellent level of service guys!

Best fish and chips in Leicester good portion size really hot minimal grease. Read some of the other reviews. The person said they had to wait well you will do If hes got a shop full you pratt. The other person who said they had gravel in their chips I reckon you must have broke a tooth as the place is the cleanest I have ever seen. 5 stars easy.

Just had the best fish and chips ever. They were so amazing. Fish had been skinned, it was thick and very tasty. Batter was perfect not at all soggy like others ive had. Crispy and full of flavour. Chips were also delicious. Will be back!!!

Now this has to be 1 of the best chip shops I've used. The chips are cooked to perfection unlike many other chip shops the chips here are not dripping fat all over you while eating. Very well recommended

Great fish and chips very clean shop and great select of chip shop favourites. I usually get fish and chips after work on Friday as it's a 30 second drive from where I work but I sometimes drive from Evington to get fish and chips from here becausethey are that good!

The fish is cooked to order, and is cooked to perfection. The chips are superb, and I would definitely recommend the spicy curry sauce as a "chip dunker". It's called Fields Fish Bar because it is on Hallam Fields!

The food is okay-ish but no matter what you order your in there a lifetime waiting. Even for simple fish & chips.

Perfectly cooked, fish wrapped on its own without having to ask, spotlessly clean. This was really nice.

WOW we've just had some.quality fish and chips from this place. Credit where it's due, trust me there are some big hitters in Leicester, but let me tell you the quality of Fields Fish Bar is up there with the best. I'm a brand new customer and you know what guys, you've massively impressed me and my wife. Keep frying fish to order, I think that's key to success. The batter was so crispy and yum. Some people may think its easy to make good fish and chips, if thats true then why do so many fail! This has been by far the best I have had for a long time. Lovely crisp batter, perfectly white meat( a clear sign its fresh fish) nice chips, not greasy at all. The place is immaculately clean. Its worth taking a drive to for a fish supper. !

These are the best fish and chips to be found for 20+ miles in any direction, and they are here on my doorstep. My son introduced me to them a few weeks ago, and we've bought more several times since. They are very good indeed. The premises too are fastidiously clean.

Fear not my fellow Britannia. We have here some mighty chips! Followed by freshly cooked to order fish. Fish - lovely crispy batter. Doesn't have that overly greasy feel some shops manage to create. Chips - Perfect! I used to live in South Leicester, not far from Grimsby's, and the last time I had chips their... Well let's say they're no longer the king's of chips. Southern Fried Chicken - Oh man! These are cooked fresh, had a huge conversation with the owner here about how I make my own, and he knew all the steps himself! I do have to give credit, his are at the very least 5-6 times better than mine... Maybe 7 times? Let's put it this way, if you're heading KFC (which is a stone throw away) reset your sat-navs and head here instead! Fish & Chips. The staple British take away. A dish that sounds so utterly simple, yet us Brits are so utterly critical. But thank God Birstall finally has a good chippy

This has to be the best freshly cooked fish for miles. The quality is 5 star rating for the food and the service. This shop is a must for all to try.
