Really lovely food chips weren’t greasy and the fish was gorgeous pie and sausage cooked to perfection and mushy peas were yummy 🤤 was given an extra slice of fudge cake too so am living this chippy my new favourite chippy nom nom 😋

Having to pay nearly £20 and wait 15 minutes for what is probably the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had is as disappointing as it gets.

Looking forward to a quality chippy tea from here and was very disappointed. Ordered fish and chips. Quite simple. Fish was over cooked and to be honest tasted like a piece of frozen fish you oven bake and the chips again over cooked, just tasted like the whole meal had just been kept warm for a long time. Not cheap either which I don’t mind had the food had been worth it. Shame as I have used before a while ago and was nice. Would not visit again

Pleasant, friendly feel. Ordered via just eat as it was a large order and we travelled 25 mins to get there (coeliac son). Efficient service upon arrival and a free bottle of gluten free vinegar. All food was still hot when we arrived home. Enjoyed by all, would definitely recommend 😊

We chanced upon this Fish and Chip shop by accident, and how lucky that was for us. We ate in as we were passing through and the food was amazing. Be warned that the portions are quite large as my husband could not eat all of his onion rings, which is such a shame as they were delicious, definitely for sharing. When we left, the queue was out of the door - and it was raining.

Easily the best chip shop and restaurant in Leicestershire!!! Always heard it was lovely but after my fiancée watching the tiktok live we decided to go, now it’s like a weekly thing for us! Food is stunning, all the staff are super friendly and welcoming, everytime we have been it’s clean and fresh. Literally will never eat fish and chips from anywhere local again because they can’t compete with rothley fisheries!!!

Along time since last vist and will be along time before I do again the quality of the cod and the batter deteriorated it was tasteless batter nowhere as good as it used to be really disappointed after making journey from afar to enjoy wonder if was cod sorry had to leave this report bur needed to say as for fish etc we took to car directly opposite had a couple of bites and conveniently there is a bin there which is where they went worst £25 spent hope it improves

The chip shop is in a really nice location and when I go to deliver there products the chocolates on the counter are the best must try when order your food

Quote possibly the nicest fish and chips I've ever eaten. Having driven all the way from Coventry on a pregnancy craving after watching TikTok! The staff were absolutely fantastic and even helped bring it outside for me. The chips are very well cooked , a little crunch and fluffy on the inside, not too greasy and the batter for the fish is simply beautiful! Curry sauce is also spot on! Thanks guys! ❤️

Not as good fish as usual, it was quite dry,and chips a little mushy as though they needed to be cooked a little more. I would still recommend as this is an unusual occurrence in Quality.

Our go-to place, given that almost all the dishes are gluten free. Yes - GF battered sausage, chips and gravy!!! Boom. It has a great reputation for its fish and chips, which is not wholly undeserved. Most of my family rate Rothley Fisheries above all others - though I personally find the batter chewy and the fish a little overcooked. Chips are lovely. Portions are gigantic... and the service is always wonderful; you rarely wait, and the staff are cheery. A tad pricey.

As a family we have dined in several times over the last 18 months. We tend to visit late afternoon. On arrival we always receive a genuine, warm friendly welcome by the waitresses. Fast service, meals always arrive freshly cooked and taste delicious. We have tried fish, pies, gyros and various sides and the quality never fails to deliver. They also cater for large groups. However, advisable to book if you are large group. You can take your own booze, they provide you with wine glasses and glasses out the freezer for your beers. The Management occasionally walk through the restaurant and are really friendly. All in all this chippy restaurant is superb and ticks all our boxes. Hence, why we always return. Never tried take away meals so can't comment on that side of the business.

First online order with Rothley Fisheries as we usually collect. A great experience- the food was hot and on time. The hake made a nice change from cod (delicious crispy batter too). All in all a positive experience and we’ll do it again

£11.80 for oil soaked chips that tasted like they’d been sat around for hours and a piece of floppy cold cod. Won’t be returning.

Called on way home from pantomime tonight. Very disappointed as food was cold when we got home, 3 minute car journey, and £12.20 for mini fish, small chips & sausage. Will certainly not be returning.

Gluten free options are amazing. All batter there is gluten free ALL of the time. My wife is Coeliac and this was the first battered sausage in 15 years. Staff are also really friendly and helpful. Great restaurant so you can eat in or take away.

We ate at the Rothley Fisheries on Tuesday 25th. We had 3 x Fish/Chips/Mushy peas and 1 x Fish/Chips/Curry sauce, Pickled onions, Gherkins and Halloumi Sticks. As the food was of high quality, well cooked and presented. The Young Lady who served us was a delight. I normally include the cost when reviewing a restaurant. On this occasion “ Rich Richard” kindly paid the bill. The Rothley Fisheries is highly recommended for a traditional Fish/Chips evening. Paul Reynolds.

I came into the restaurant earlier tonight and loved every second of it. The service was great. All of the staff are very polite and friendly, even though we came in quite late and so delayed their cleaning and home time - Sorry 😅 They clearly enjoy being there and fit the roles perfectly As also appears to be the case for the manager/owner. He clearly loves the job and sees his staff as family - exactly what a business like such requires. Customers see these relationships and sense the welcoming nature and that's when they will be willing to return. All of this, coupled with the fluffy but crispy chips, made it one of the best meals I have ever had at a chip shop and will definitely be taking a detour to stop by again soon

Chips could do bit more cooking time in contrast to the burger which could do with less. Have had better for less money, but was ok, not amazing!

Walked in after a 35 min drive based on a recommendation. Fish was fried to perfection. Not under. Not over. Perfection. Batter was bubbly and light yet creamy enough to cover the fish inside with a sweet hinting taste that true batter should carry. The chips. Solid golden crisp on outside. Fluffy inside with no oil run off or burns. The oil and temperature clearly maintained I cannot fault them. Not many places even my own local favourites in birmingham have the traditional taste look and freshness on point like this. It isnt modern fish and chips. Its what it was and should have stayed like. Beautiful
