Signor Sassi in City of London, Westminster

Went to dine there last night after many years. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. The food was shockingly poor quality. I ordered spaghetti al Vongole; a traditional straight forward easy recipe, but it came cold and dry with very little seasoning and about 5 clams in all. My brother ordered a fettuccine and it was a disappointment as well although someone else in the group ordered the same and had a good dish! It seems to be that there’s a problem with quality control and the prices were very high for this shambles. It’s sad as this was a great Italian eatery once upon a time.

Ordered a Lobster Spaghetti and it was very good. 5 star. My wife ordered an ossobuco risoto and it was horrible. asked for another option ( aubergine lasagna) that was good. Service 3 star. slow but the restaurant was busy. its understandable. Desserts ordered were caramel pudding and cheesecake.both below average. Would give a 3 star but the restaurant, even after noticing the order that we did not like, charged it anyway. its impolite, but in their right and I did not complain .

The restaurant is extremely excellent, and the service is fantastic as well. The manager, the host, and the waiter are all excellent. As for our table's attendant, Dennis, he is on another level of professionalism, taste, and ethics. He made my night much better by far.

This is an iconic Italian old school restaurant that is very traditional and classy. The calamari is delicious and the spaghetti gamberoni to die for . It’s a family favourite place and it was a wonderful experience. I celebrated my 50th birthday . It has such a special place in my heart and is located in Knightsbridge so it’s great for shopping too. i have been coming here since a child it never lets us down.

We made a reservation as we were in town from the USA for my 60th birthday. The staff could not have been more accommodating. It was a phenomenal experience. We had a great time. The food was excellent the ambience amazing.

Very nice to be back at Signor Sassi on Knighsbridge Green again.Such great hosts very friendly and helpful,the shared starter and Mushroom Risotto were just outstanding. Thank you to the wonderful team at Signor Sassi.

On recommendation of a friend booked for dinner last Wednesday it was my 60th birthday and we were in town for a few days We had an awesome time Greeted at the door whisked off to a beautiful table The servers were fantastic great recommendations for food and wine The dinning room is well some would say cramped I prefer intimate ! Food was awesome spacing and timing perfect It seemed the entire staff came out to sing for me! Would definitely recommend

Fabulous Italian Restaurant in a convenient location. Only moments from Harrods, but just as importantly only about 15 minutes walk from the Royal Albert Hall - and there’s nothing near the Royal Albert hall. Comfortable seating, attentive service, a varied menu and a pretty decent menu make this a real must if you are in that neck of the woods. Just one negative. My Rack of lamb was tasty, nicely cooked but had a lot of chewy veins. Not a sign of good quality meat. My advice… stick to the pasta dishes with are amazing

We absolutely loved our meal here. It was a business lunch but so relaxed because of the ambience and general conviviality of the staff. The food was exceptional, might even be the best Italian I’ve eaten in the world. Definitely pricey but if you get a chance, do try out some time.

We were ex-pats living in Kensington back in the late 90's and this was our favorite restaurant. Fast forward 30 years later we were delighted to find they were still open and they did not dissapoint. Outstanding food great service, just like we remembered. I highly recommend this place every time.

Terrible place to have a celebration, the food was tasteless , it was too loud to where you can’t hear whoever’s with you , service was poor , none of us liked our food was just plain and tasteless , even the desert was tasteless!

We had fantastic food and service, but the atmosphere was too loud, I couldn't stand hearing the sound of plates and cutleries in my head. The location where they serve cutleries needs to change.

I was expecting perhaps a bit more however I was disappointed by this place… food is good, atmosphere is a bit uncomfortable… I got 2 starters fish.. one with mussels and clams.. some of the mussels seemed to be off… Second I had plate of pasta I’m with fish… it was ok nothing WOW… My husband ordered the parmigiana which was good and pasta with crab which was bland… I had a taste of it and he was not mistaken… the flavour was overpowered by the saffron… which was a bit sickening… The service could be better… we ended up filing our own glasses… All in all… it wasn’t that good… I will pass for the next time… At least I have tried

went there with a friend in the late evening of 27th February. The staff are happy, humorous and kind, especially the girl at the reception who did us a big favor out of her own pocket. Many thanks! The food was great, too, and was in big plates. Cheers!

Fantastic experience, food amazing. I was stressing because my wife and baby and myself couldn’t get a taxi for ages and was 45 minutes late, but they reassured us it will be fine as we were visiting from manchester for the weekend

My friend and I decided to stop by during our walk and have lunch, without expecting anything special, but the food turned out to be amazing. My seafood risotto was so delicious it nearly made me cry.

I visited a few times and the food has always been fantastic. Scallops are my favourite dish. I have visited a few Italian restaurants in London but this is the best

Dined on Valentine's Day with my girlfriend and greeted by very friendly staff. Sat down at our table and instantly given the menu, we went for Lobster spaghetti which was very nice, my girlfriend enjoyed her meal. The waiter were very attentive and quick to tidy our table as expected in a high quality and pricey restaurant. Tiramasu was very nice, coffee was oo strong for my other half but overall a very nice experience. You cannot miss this restaurant. Very pricey as its situated in Knightsbridge. Thank you

We had a really delicious meal . I had Halibut that was perfectly cooked with a lobster sauce and Tiramisu ! It was a birthday celebration with friends and the service was very professional as usual ! Thoroughly recommend always excellent

I love this restaurant so much, I had my best lobster pasta in London. My sister went there to order first, they gave great recommendations for the food and they could tailor made the sauce for the pasta which is so thoughtful. We were so full after the starter and main, and the waiter insists us to order the dessert. We got one crème brûlée to share, that’s a perfect finishing. I’m glad he insisted. It’s lovely restaurant, I will always go back. Highly recommended.

Protect yourself from this waitress named Erica/Erika because she will steal the keys from your coat before giving it back to you after you complain to her. This restaurant is racist. Besides, there are many places in London where you can get better Italian food at this price. What happened was that I arrived at the restaurant at 7:00 this Thursday evening and two of my friends were already inside. They told me that the waitress named Erica was very rude to them, so I called the waitress over to ask what was going on. After she apologized to us, we paid and prepared to leave, and she was the only waiter standing at the door to hand our coats back to us. For some reason, my friend's coat was on a hanger on the first floor and mine was on a hanger on the second floor, so Erica had to go upstairs to get my coat. What’s interesting is that the stairs in this restaurant are fully mirrored, so I witnessed the whole process of her taking my coat. After Erica took out my clothes, she didn’t take them directly to me, instead she turned the clothes in circles and sorted it out first. After a few seconds, she went downstairs and handed me my coat. Why do I suspect that this waitress took the key? Because I am a very suspicious person, I always check my pocket to make sure my valuables are there when I leave from any place. Also, there were many stuffs in the pocket where the key is, but only the key is missing. Apart from that, the food was quite satisfactory. I still recommend Da Mario’s cuttlefish noodles. At least there is no waiter waiting to steal your keys.

So happy to have found this little gem of a restaurant. The food was delicious and the service attentive but not intrusive.

Truly superb food served by passionate staff , never having to search for service it was always there , hard to beat I would say. Congrats to the whole Signor Sassi team .

Save your money and spend it at another Italian food restaurant. Do not go here. Food...minestrone soup over salted was completely inedible. Pasta not even dente it was hard and chewy. The veal was tastless. The wild boar pasta was ok but lacked flavour. Bill came to 130. Completely shocked ! I mentioned to the manager about the veal and his response was so utterly rude. We should have got the whole meal free. We barely ate any of it. Disappointed and quite upset in the way we were spoken too. Won't be returning!

The service is terrible! You have to try very, very hard to order. After you sit at the table, no one looks at your face. We got tired of lifting our hands and arms! They said they would be back in two minutes and didn't come by for 15 minutes. I started to think we were invisible! I don't want to say that what we ate was mediocre, but it can never rise above the average!

Visited here last night for our last meal in London. Safe to say it was the perfect choice . Everything was perfect from the welcome in a the front door to which they took our jackets and put them on when we were leaving, to the service with ordering. The waiters are also very friendly and accommodating. Safe to say it was the best place I had food in London.

It is an ok place. In my opinion, it is very pricey. Th3 food is decent. We had spaghetti and meatballs, but my favorite part of the meak was the starter bread or bruschettas. A downside was that it was very crowded. Good thing we had a reservation. It gives an authentic Italian feel from decor to services

I’ve had the weirdest experience in my life in this restaurant tonight. One of the servers came up to my wife while I was in the bathroom, and he told my wife that he loves her. Plus when I reported that to a guy who calls himself a manager, he told me that it’s something normal and I shouldn’t let this ruin my night. Apparently the guy says he was singing and didn’t look bad intented but who is this manager to try to gaslight me into saying it’s normal, I should be more open minded and stuff🫨🫨🫨🫨 How is that for you Mr. Sassi?

A lovely Italian spot in Knightsbridge. We love coming here for the lobster risotto, which is always really delicious and worth it. We also ordered the mixed grilled fish, which had some great scallops. Tomato mussels were a great start and cheesecake was perfect for finish. No non alcoholic wines. Good service and quick too. Highly recommend.

Food has dropped in standard very sadly. Hollandaise sauce came salty and with a film. Menu advertised fettuncine as an experince and special original recipe from Italy but it came swimming in cream with no panecetta or egg. Creme brule top was not hard to carck. Sorry guys have usually always enjoyed the food but all 3 courses were a let down

Molto autocelebrativi, ma la pasta era gommosa e non al dente! Se non si cucina bene la pasta come ci si può vantare di rappresentare la cucina italiana a Londra? Lo staff vuole rendersi simpatico ma nasconde male un certo scoglionamento nei confronti dei clienti. Prezzi decisamente alti.

This restaurant is tucked away on a quiet street near Harrods, the perfect lunch spot during a busy day of shopping. The restaurant has to be commended on its quick service and attentive staff and they served the best truffle arancini I have ever eaten! I deducted one point for the over crowded seating in the dining area but still highly recommend a visit if you are after authentic Italian dining.

My wife and I had dinner at Signor Sassi on 30 December 2023. The meal was excellent, with superb service and a vibrant, interesting ambiance. We have been several times before and had similar experiences.

Love this place! Super Italian food and service. Cute and cosy place in Knightsbridge to bring your partner for dinner or to stop off at after a bit of shopping in Harrods opposite. Chilled ambience. Delicious fried calamari and lobster spaghetti. Eggplant parmesan is also not bad. Cost £££

We wanted to make eating here a great eating experience and Signor Sassi did not disappoint at all. The waiting staff we busy and efficient as the restaurant was full, however the Italian flamboyance stood out and that was wonderful. It seems to me that only Italian restaurants get fish right and their meals for me were a wonder. The lobster ‘cocktail’ was divine following by a shell fruits de mer, I would pick out particularly the scallops As being perfectly perfectly cooked and presented. Oh, and the Chianti poached pear was for me the crowning glory. At Signor Sassi, they do not skimp on portions and on presented to your table you are welcomed immediately with olives and Italian cheese. I’m embarrassed to admit that I do not know my Italian regions and wines half as much as o should, but the Saint Helene Sauvignon Blanc held just the right acidity and freshness to balance all our meals. So thank Signor Sassi you for the Sommelier notes. I would say that the restaurant was busy, and we left more hurriedly than we should because the new table of arriving ill mannered and unclothed persons cleared the room of at least two tables (ours being one). Other table guest similarly did not look happy. Nevertheless we shall return for more exquisite cuisine and to work through the extensive wine list!

The service was fast, our food arrived hot and quickly. Since it was a traditional place, none of the furniture was new, most of the chairs had peeled leather. A group of 7-8 people had been eating since 1:00 p.m. They were making a lot of noise, everyone around them was disturbed, including my friends, we couldn't hear ourselves because of their noise. There was not even any Italian music accompanying it in the background, the atmosphere received less stars from me due to such situations. Let's come to the food; The quality of the ingredients is already top notch, the size of the portions are good for the price, the staff was still friendly despite all the noise and crowd. It was very stuffy inside, very crowded and the light was very uncomfortable. It literally looks like you came to a wedding hall in the 2000s. I think the furniture should be changed a little, you need a little restoration without exaggerating or killing the spirit of the place.

Very normal food but with terrible service and attitude, especially the manager who is racist and refused to show me the desert menu in a disrespectful way. A restaurant that destroyed my happy vacation with my wife and friends.

Ci siamo trovati per caso in questo ristorante italiano. Tutto ok nella norma personale gentilissimo se non fosse per quello che credo sia il capo, signore anziano che controlla come un cecchino la sala. Dico come cecchino perché molto grezzo e arrogante. Riprende ad alta voce i camerieri che invece sono tutti veloci e svegli. Nostra esperienza: uno dei camerieri si è "permesso" di fornirci nell'attesa del parmigiano reggiano. È stato violentemente ripreso davanti no tra l'altro come se da italiani non potessimo sentire. Il mio uno al servizio è solo per colpa sua. Gli italiani non sono cosi e quindi inviterei il signore a ritornare in Italia e magari a darsi una rinfrescata alla memoria sul fatto che mangiare italiano non significa solo presentare piatti ma avere eleganza accoglienza e saper fare. Nn ci ritorneremo di certo e non per il cibo, devo dire ottimo e abbastanza poco contaminato, nemmeno per le.ragazze all' accoglienza, davvero simpatiche, nemmeno per il locale, pulito, ma solo per lui.

No idea what the fuss is about this place. I picked this on a recommendation from a friend and unfortunately was left. Very very disappointed. Apart from the array of celebrity pictures dot it up all across the restaurant, the actual decor of the place reminded me of my grandma‘s house back in the 80s Tired, Restaurant overall. Being 6 foot tall and being pinned against the wall on a small table, I was struggling to even get comfortable with waiters, tripping over my feet every five minutes. Coming onto the food, I ordered some fancy prawn dish which said they would be king prawns, but what actually turned out with three measly prawns in some pink sauce. Minestrone soup was so salty, I felt I just walked out the sea, taking a gulp of the ocean. Coming onto the main, again were salty And what I ordered. I could’ve knocked up in five minutes at home bland, tasteless effortless. The staff were great don’t get me wrong, however, I would not go back to this place or recommend to anyone.

Absolutely horrible. Rundown place, rude staff, and the food is below average. We waited 30 minutes to get the waiter’s attention and our food took over 1 hour to arrive. I don’t know why people speak so highly of this place. There are way better Italian places in town and not as pretentious or expensive as this one.

Service was a bit confused (e.g. couldn't find table in booking system, even though we had a confirmation email or had to ask several times for any one thing, like a drink, dessert menu, or the bill). The atmosphere seemed a bit dull and dark, especially if you compare it to the other sister restaurants within the group. It wasn't so much "mood lighting", but rather just simply "dark". The food was good, but lacked any "oomph" we experience at the other sister restaurants within this group. Therefore, it felt very overpriced too. We did enjoy ourselves, but felt our money would've been better spent at their other locations. It seems to be near Harrods and offer a fully halal menu, so maybe they know they'll get customers regardless? C'est la vie I guess.

This restaurant has a bad habit of putting plants outside its facade and they always block the footpath. Countless entreaties to stop have failed, so we have decided to stop eating there.

Signor Sassi: Popular Location, Lacking Flavor Located in one of London’s popular spots, the Italian restaurant Signor Sassi is quite a tourist attraction. While it boasts a charming Italian ambiance and the staff are friendly with good service, the food falls short of expectations. The burrata was notably small and dry. The pasta lacked sufficient sauce and was not cooked to the right degree. The meat was slightly tough and didn’t meet the desired flavor quality. The presentation of the dishes was also quite ordinary and careless. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Amazing place nearby Hyde park. So yammy and beautiful. Love this place.

Waited for 20 minutes. No water. Waited 10 more minutes to order. No one came over for us to order. Fix your service and your attitude! AVOID!! Wasted half an hour in my life.

Conozco "Signor Sassi" desde los 90, cuando yo viví en Londres. Es toda una tradición. Muy buena comida y el servicio... pues, a veces, "demasiado italiano". Esta vez tomé unas ostras, muy buenas y a un precio imbatible en Londres, y un risotto de boletus y colmenillas, con trufa fresca negra (que deberían haber cortado/rallado a la vista del cliente). Muy bueno, en cualquier caso. Caro... pero la trufa fresca es cara.

We haven’t eaten here for many years, but it was a favourite. It was unchanged and a lovely place to dine. Excellent choices on the menu and perfectly presented.

This is arguably the best and most authentic Italian Restaurant in London. I highly recommend the lobster Spaghetti. The Halloween desert was amazing as well.

There was a rude employee here. Also, there was a family at another table with a baby, and when the baby cried, that employee mocked baby’s crying. Lunch at Signor Sassi with my wife was exceptional! Everything about our visit was top-class, and would highly recommend this Italian restaurant to anyone in the Knightsbridge area. The Fettuccine Alfredo is absolutely delicious!!

Sunday lunch for two. Delicious food, great, friendly and swift service, elegant 1970s decor. Not cheap but worth every penny. Will definitely revisit.

Paired with perfectly cooked chips and complemented by curry sauce and tartare, it was a culinary journey through British tradition. While mushy peas aren't my personal favorite, they sat on the plate looking as authentic as one could expect. The bustling ambiance was a testament to the restaurant's popularity. By 5:30 pm, a queue had formed and tables were full. Fortunately, our foresight to book in advance paid off. With the theatre as our next stop, we were pleasantly surprised by the swift service, ensuring we enjoyed our meal without feeling rushed. Mayfair Chippy not only satisfied my Fish and Chips craving but secured a spot on my must-visit list for future London trips.
