Absolutely amazing Sunday lunch at the Signalman! Had the pork with crackling and it was delicious! The staff are lovely, really friendly and accommodating. Great outdoor space with covered booths and heaters. Would thoroughly recommend 😊

Brighton student drop. Booked table. We all spent a good chunk of time in this lovey pub. Really friendly atmosphere, locals and staff. Food was tasty; generous portions too. We had a range of dishes and sides. Recommend the burger for sure. Certain we’ll be back.

Fabulous roast! Came here for my birthday last Sunday but we always come here for the beer garden, atmosphere and especially because they have the Laine brew co beers! PS- I noticed there was a bad review below about rude staff, and my friend and I witnessed it, completely on the staff’s side and they handled it well - ignore his unfair review 😂

Went here for a roast as our local in Hanover had changed kitchen for the worst. Was not disappointed! The staff were super lovely, the food was great and the portion size was perfect!

We had a fantastic Sunday roast in the beautiful beer garden. Couldn't recommend more. The staff were amazing, extremely friendly, quick to serve and making a cracking drink. Bloody Mary's, pork roast and the sticky toffee pudding were a highlights but our whole experience was brilliant and hope I can go back again soon. I do strongly recommend you book in your roast and be exact with numbers as you don't want to miss out!

Came here for my birthday and had the most amazing time! Staff were super lovely & friendly as well as the pub Itself being so pretty & cozy. Ended up sitting in the garden most of the night and their garden is just lush. Their variety of drinks on tap & bottled beers were so good (and their non alcoholic range!) it meant my friends who aren’t drinking alcohol can still have a drink and it not be a Coke! Also had a couple of their “small plates” while here and they were so delicious. Love coming in here everytime I do & definitely will be in for times to come <3

Firstly the pub were so quick to reply to my enquiry about reserving some space. Not only did they reserve tables outside for us but also inside in case we got cold. The staff were so friendly and looked like they really liked working in the pub. The food was delicious (we had a burgers, halloumi bites, chips) and the pub just had a great atmosphere inside and out. All the party said they would definitely be going back especially when the sun is shining to sit in their gorgeous garden. Thanks so much to everyone at the Signalman!

Had an excellent night here. Not the first time but the first time in a while. Still great lovely staff. Wicked beer garden and good food. X

Sat for 2 hours, buying a couple pints per person (5 of us, also note pints were increased in price for the euros which wasnt mentioned beforehand) then told to leave an hour before the football started because the table was "reserved" even though reservations were stopped at 11am the same day so there was no reason to let us stay that long and spend that much money before asking us to leave.

Great tasting roast with options for veggie and vegans. Staff super helpful and friendly. We had drinks in the lovely garden afterwards and listened to some great music. Wonderful afternoon!

Today I visited with a friend who frequents this pub and was excited to show me the garden and spoke very highly of its atmosphere. Unfortunately, today we were met by hostility and frustration by what I can only assume was the manager or of similar status as the way the other younger friendly member of staff looked to this woman for validation. The validation was due to when we entered the establishment we had asked if they had a WIFI we could use to message a friend due to the lack of signal. The kind mannered and friendly gentleman serving us responded positively stating that they do, and then turned to a woman who then in turn in a sarcastic yet hostile tone proceeded to say “yes, but only for paying customers”. Assuming the remark was a joke, as we were in the process of ordering drinks, we asked again for the password and she then repeated herself in a cold, patronising tone. We then explained we were ordering but needed to message our friend who was awaiting contact from us, she then from what I can only describe as sulked with a grumpy expression on her face and no apology for her mistake or abruptness. I’ve never been made to feel humiliated, patronised or received such poor customer service in my time spent in Brighton. I think politeness, respect and mannerisms could be learnt from the other staff that surrounded her. I hope this was a one off and if or when we choose to visit again all staff will be welcoming and positive.

Every time we’ve been here we’ve been blown away. The decor is lovely and the board games are such a nice touch, the team are super friendly and knowledgeable with excellent service and the food is incredible - the Sunday roast is to die for! Couldn’t recommend highly enough!

Went to the signalman for thr first time. We all had a roast. Easily the best roast we have ever had! It was absolutely delicious!! Everything was individually flavoured. SOOOOOO tasty!!! Lovely pub and atmosphere. Staff all friendly too. We will definitely be back.

The young bar staff were very nice, nothing was too much trouble, even told us when the next train to the Aamex was.

One of the greatest Sunday roasts I’ve had for a very long time! Nice little sun trap garden is lovely to sit in also. The beef roast was 10/10. Cauliflower cheese was delicious & the stuffing balls are a must. Will most certainly be back!

We actually booked at the round hill pub but we left after awful customer service and went here. All the ladies who were working were extremely friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing and you got a lot for your money too. Save to say our Sunday dinner was saved thanks to you guys and I will definitely recommend people to go here.

We booked a table for 15 of us, and the pub was super cosy with a nice fire! The staff were super friendly and lovely, and were very quick to serve us. We had a really delicious 3 course lunch and the price is reasonable! The gardens are beautiful also in winter, and the beer and wine selection is good! We would go again!

The signalman is the place to be, the open log fire, twinkly fairy lights and Christmas decs across the pub make it feel so cosy. Had a few lovely ladies serving me and my friends all evening, one had blue hair think she said her name was Millie, and I didn’t get the others name but she was tall and blonde. Can’t thank them enough as well praises to whoever made their mulled wine that evening it was Devine!

Having built and delivered a shiny new Toad table for the Signalman. I thought I'd pop along and show them how to play this fantastic pub game. The pub is a gem! Lovely, warm and welcoming atmosphere and great staff. Plenty to choose from beer wise too. We happily played toad in its new, purpose built corner and even got a few of the locals playing too. Overall a super night and a super pub. The staff really couldn't do enough for us. I'll be back very soon for sure. 😁😁😁

The roast at Signalman is epic! The roast pots were crisp and fluffy, the veg was all cooked well and was tasty, cheesy leeks were delicious and pigs in blankets were cooked properly with the bacon nice and crisp. The best thing was the pork, so much of it and two massive crackling pieces. The service was great, despite being so busy everyone was lovely and would chat a little when they could. Felt very welcomed. We will be back!

A great local in the London road area. Cosy esp with the open fire, menu has pub classic and winter warmers for the colder months. Had the sausage and mash which was great! Team are always attentive and friendly and pleased to see you. Improved garden is such a great addition.

Went for a night out with friends and hadn’t been to the signalman but it ended up being really good there great food and drinks also the blue haired bartender I think called Millie was lovely and really helpful:)

Me and my four hosuemates came to The Signalman for a Sunday Roast and we'll absolutely be coming again. The set up inside is so cosy and lovely, it felt very festive and cute! The staff were so attentive - our waitress Zoe was truly fabulous and did everything she could to make sure we had a great experience, which really made our day - and the food was incredible! The Wellington and Nut Roast were particularly amazing 🌟🌟 This is definitely going to become our go-to local in Brighton!

Can I just say, What a beautiful, lovely welcoming place. I live in eastbourne and have travelled to london road brighton, 3 times in 9 days to come to the signalman with my new partner. The staff are so welcoming and just lovely. Great beer and fantastic food. Great value, £11 for a home cooked lunch in the week, Definitely a win win. Also feels so Christmassy in the evenings with the log fire and the fairy lights everywhere. Just love it.

Very nice pub. Decent choice of drinks and snacks. I've never had a proper meal here. There quite a bit of indoor seating where it is nice and warm. There is also a garden with a fair amount of seating however it does get very busy in the summer. I come here semi-regularly. I would deffo go back and recommend it others.

The food was terrible and overpriced I ordered the pork belly bites, the sauce was just burnt soy sauce for £9.50 was a very very small portion. Service was very slow. Would not recommend anyone order food here. One of the worst meals I’d ever had.

Love, love, LOVE this pub. So many great pubs to choose from in Brighton, but this is the one I most regularly feel like going to. The food coming from Big Sam's kitchen is outstanding - amazing casual food during the week - try the loaded tater tots, or the Korean pork belly skewers - and incredible Sunday roasts. Not to be missed. Such a great place to hang out as well. If you're a Brighton and Hove fan, you'll be amongst friends! The bar team are fab - always full of smiles, and happy to help. Can't recommend highly enough.

Always a great pub and the food is delicious! To add to this, I’ve up there a couple of times the last few weeks to watch the rugby World Cup and, despite us probably being the only people watching it (especially the non-England games), they’ve always tried to find us a tv to put it on and been super accommodating! Friendly welcoming atmosphere, great beer and delicious food.

Lovely pub and garden. Had the nicest pub roast I've had in ages and more recently a really tasty burger. Just losing a star here because of cheaping out with your condiments. Please lose the ketchup sachets (more packaging is bad for the environment) and they were awful quality with added sweeteners. It's perfectly possible to source cheap ketchup and mayo that don't contain additives.

Great vibes and killer roasts! I had a delicious, huge portion of pork with perfect crackling and the cauliflower cheese was gooey, stringy and banging. Bar staff are always lush, and really accomodating (moving tables, putting on sport for us) and it's just the best pub in town!

Booked last minute and had a roast. Good god, it was absolutely banging. We had the Brie wellington and every single element was cooked to perfection. Cauli cheese was the best I’ve had in a long time and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout.

Had the brie and mushroom wellington roast, and cauliflower cheese as an extra. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed full of flavour. Service was excellent and I really appreciated that the veggie options were cheaper than the meat options.

Great pub in a great location, food people and staff are always spot on. Never had any trouble in the pub, the people who come and drink there are a lovely bunch, bit of a locals pub too which is nice but non locals are warmly welcomed. The garden is a huge sun trap on a decent day and they have a secret garden around the back!
