SIDHUS FISH AND CHIPS & DELECTABLE PIZZERIA in North Tyneside

Just moved to wallsend from the west end and this is now my go to chippy. Although I'm not a fan of fish the pizzas are very good and reasonably priced if you get the deals. Accommodating for changes so all good.👍

Chips were old and over cooked for 1pm prime time. Large cod was more like regular size and the pizza wasn't fully cooked and hot throughout. Used to be a quality must go to chippy but it's over-priced and the quality is no longer there.

Sausage, chips in a tray. And a curry sauce £6.24. Charged for individual not combo. Some of the chips discoloured, and the portion was more like a child's portion. Fair enough if it was a special for £4.50 maybe for not £6.24. Absolutely disgusting. You should 100% feel full from a adults meal but no, not at all. Total let down. Complained once before and all i got was the high prices were due to premium potatoes, well nothing premium about them this time. Horrible. Avoid. Dont know how you get a good reputation because both times have been rubbish. Only used for convenience of being at the shops. Not even a 1 star

Good choice of foods and good deals. Single.items do seem expensive buy saved when buying a mix deal

Chips were spot on, some of the best tasting chips ever. Problem was the battered sausage was just about warm and tasted like it had been there allday. Also we got chilli sauce when we specifically asked foe garlic. But these things happen

I bought a large fish and chips here last night , which cost over £10 , the chips cost £3:10 for only one of the portions alone. I have gone here for years and the service and food is great. Sadly the prices have now outpaced the value. Gone has the saying, cheap as chips.

I am weird as I like gravy and peas on my chips, the young lad convinced me try it with cheese, it was delicious, real melted pizza cheese, service and food were great ✌️

The fish and chips from here used to be excellent, in fact award winning, but of late they have gone right back, poor quality fish masked by thick batter which means it’s over cooked, the chips are also scabby, I’ve been a glutton for punishment, going back three times thinking this time they will be back to their award winning ways, but no they have not. So I won’t be going back as I’m sure £10 for large fish and chips could be s better spent elsewhere, just not sure where yet.

This is now the 3rd time I’ve ordered online form Sidhu’s and every time the delivery time has been ridiculous. I ordered my food (not a large order by any means) at 6pm and after checking out on line the estimated delivery time was 89 minutes! It was 2hrs by the the time my food arrived. I got the impression that if I hadn’t phoned up to complain I would have still been waiting the following night. When I phoned up to complain saying that 2hrs wasn’t acceptable the lady who answered was giggling down the phone for some reason! I ordered a kebab with side salad and it literally had 6 shreds of red cabbage in it with a thimble amount of garlic sauce. Very disappointed as generally the food is good when collecting. I’ll never be ordering online or via the phone again from here. Not good enough.

Called after a works emergency needed lunch for 30 colleges at very short notice and Sidhus pulled out all the stops even delivered for free. Thank you would recommend.

Lush pizza and chips, ordered for a collection and there was a bit of wait but staff we’re friendly and kept me out the cold. Fresh hot food and proper chippy chips must try their garlic And chilli sauce really nice

Came here today, food as always was absolutely spot on, really enjoyed it, the lady who served me i dont know if shes the owners wife but she could really do with cracking a smile and giving more than one word answers as it was really awkward talking to her. A smile goes a long way.Other than that the food was great.

Charges more for haddock..but it's actually cod. Don't buy cod bites..might have been the one on floor that they picked up and washed. Or the one in sink..washed with deppio..a cleaning solution...then again washed. Or the same cloth used on floor as on benches. Or dates changed on food items..when out of date

When you walk into the chips shop you see a large menu and about 20 special offers dotted around the wall. I have had some good fish and chips from here but don't like the staff. I feel they laugh and joke with the locals and ignore you. Been going elsewhere for a while so might have improved

Ordered online after being recommended by a family member, decent array of deals pizza and kebab for about £12 which isn’t the cheapest but worth it, good size portions doner kebab was delicious and decent quality well worth itDelivery time could be better,personally I will collect next time

I’ve been a regular customer for years and it’s usually decent standard food. Unfortunately what I witnessed tonight has put me off. The woman serving was cleaning the outside of the front counter when I arrived. She then took my order and without washing her hands or wearing food prep gloves prepared my food. This included direct contact by hand with a bread bun.

recommended by my work mate and now my weekly treat, nice lunchtime offers, cant beat the kebab butty with chilli and garlic staff always great at lunchtimes. i cant comment on the evenings as iv only visited daytime would recommend

I'm a regular visitor here, the staff are always very friendly, and will always point out if it would be cheaper to buy a meal deal etc. Excellent customer service, and it's always good value for money,Please go back to the old fish cakes though, the new ones just done taste nice, I got one last night and left it. Old ones were really really good

Typically always a good chippy, fish is always nice, chips always well cooked, and excellent pizzas and kebabs. I have been going to this shop since it opened, and it's predecessor on Mullen Road.However I really do not like the new fish cakes. They are a lot thinner and greasier, but more importantly they just do not taste as nice. Please go back to the old fish cakes

all the food was freezing cold to me look like sick pizza was Stone Cold in no flavoursausage was cold inside

These were the best chips that I’ve had since I was young and chips used to be cooked in fat not oil. Don’t know what they use but the taste is amazing. Will be definitely going back for more.

Just discovered this little hidden gem after having problems with my regular takeaway. Fish and chips was spot on and the staff were lush too. Definitely my new fave and the best locally by a long shot!!

I go there pretty much all the time, every time there is something to complain about however, I'll still eat because its nice and won't go back and complain, but just me as a person whether its soggy because the amount of sauce (however I do like a bit of sauce on my food) - so I'm happy with that and I'll have it.

Good choice of lunchtime deals, shops very clean and always a nice experience. Beats being barked at by the grumps in greggs next door! Smile man may never happen

Regularly attend here and as always the food is spot on, we got a pizza and a kebab with an extra portion of chips. Decent size portions and very tasty. The only minor negative on this occasion was that the chips tasted a bit rubbery and were only warm but these things happennow and again. Overall the food was spot on as per usual.

Cant beat the kebab buttys at lunch drenched in garlic! Favourite part of my college day going to sidhus for lunch!!

5 mins wait which turned into a 10 mins wait, but was worth it cod and haddock was delicious chunky and fresh certainty worth a weekly visit.

Just had fish and chips from here tonight and have to say I was very surprised at how nice they were we normally go to the fish quay but these were just as good the batter on the fish was nice and thin hate really thick batter and big chunks of cod. Well impressed

After being a regular at Fridays and not being satisfied in recent months (change of ownership) decided on sidhus. Ordered online delivery was slow but food was delicious lovely cod and chips were super.

I don't know if the fish had been put in the fried frozen but it was horrible. It was dry and in a solid lump tasting more like bread than fish. Felt guilty giving it to the dogs.There are some good fish shops a little further away and they will get my custom in future. One star for the serving staff that are good

This is my regular takeaway and the food is always really nice. My go to item of choice is the bbq chicken pizza wrap.

I have been coming in here since 2013. It is my 'local' fish and chip shop when we are back at our 2nd home in the UK each summer. The Haddock is always cooked to perfection, the chips are yum!. Great curry sauce and off course the mushy peas. I just wish it was a bit closer to Australia. See you in 2019 again guys!

Big fan of this chippy I'm not a fish person I prefer pizzas but this is the place for my monthly treat fish is golden and better not thick always spot on. Chilli sauce is also very good

Gorgeous fresh and tasty food. Chips taste like real old fashioned home cut chips. Always a pleasure to eat from there. The kids love the curry sauce lol x x x

Our favourite local chippy, with good range of food. Nice pizzas especially the Kiev and fish and chips can't be beaten. Clean and prices are reasonable thumbs up all around. Batters amazing!

having exsprienced your food I have to say that eating the left overs from a pigs troff would be more appealing . If your really hungry avoid this place at all costs .

It's difficult to find a decent fish n chip shop nowadays. Well it used to be until I tried this one. It really is one of the best, award winning and rated 5 on the hygiene level.

Why go to coast when we have the best in wallsend .My regular chippy always great food and service. There is a wait at times but don't mind as the food is fresh. Mushy peas are lovely would recommend the 2 fish and chips and 2 sauce deal worth the visit!

Lovely was to warm your cockles. If a shop seems busy mid week then its a sure sign that the foods good. I wasn't disappointed. The staff were polite and the regular portion was big more then enough. Crispy batter in the outside and lovely cod flakes inside. Perfection will be back!

I can't have fish and chips without batter and the batter bits at sidhus are lush. Cant beat the food if they sold batter bits I would buy them lol

Just read the horrible comments about your staff, I think that is a total missjudgement on the older lady, my son has ahd and, and she is lovely, she always interacts with him, he is a rugby fanatic and she always aks him how he does heap of poo if u ask me

Went in to buy 2 regular chips. Woman who served us looked very unhappy and we had to keep repeating our order. Would be nice to see happy staff when going into a business for the first time.

Most shops are only good at one thing like past or pizza or fish and chips. but sidhus have got the pizzas spot on as well as the amazing fish and chips. Its the weekend go to place for pizzas i eat out at least twice a week and to be honest on par with papa johns sidhus are up there, keep up the good work !

for a client opening evening I ordered 8 pizzas for my colleges, they were delivered on time. Its the first...

family ordered a meal mostly pizzas and I have to say they were up there with the best, lovely dough and great chips. they weren't greasy and tasted fresh. the garlic sauce was one of the nicest I ever had! One of my new favourites!

It's not my local chippy but I always go once a week for the cod, batter is lovely and prices are very reasonable. I had friends around and we ordered 6 fish and chips, rang order in ahead and the food didn't disappoint the chips were lovely as were the peas. Defiantly the best take away fish shop in wallsend.

My wife called in for something to share got a pie and chips pastry was hard filling like warm and reheated last night's chips absolutely disgusting again a grot served her with dirty fingernails yak She won't go back .Oh and we both had the ten bob bits . EHO need telling

After tea visit, had to wait for fish but didnt mind as i like to wait for fresh food any way. Couldnt fault the fish or chips peas were up there with the best.

What can I say but this chippy should be closed .I was barked at by a grot behind counter "what you want".Got cheese pattie and chips £3.85 got then home and could not eat chips swimming in grease and old and reheated. Pattie was lumpy Potato and no cheese What a waste on money !!!!Won't be back Monday 1.23pm 20th feb

For a multi food takeaway the fish & chips were spot on. We normally go to the coast for ours but couldn't be bothered with the rain the other day so tried here. Excellent portion size, batter was lovely & crispy & the fish was tasty

Well priced chippy, staff are nice and portions are very generous. Fish and chips is very good as are kebabs and chicken. Would recommend as a nice chippy!

We live about 10 minutes away and got 2 fish and chips delivered,1 small curry and 1 small peas, as the weather was awful. Couldn't fault the food batter was spot on for me and the wife and fish was really nice. Its not our nearest chippy but we visit at least once a week and would recommend. Staff are pleasant only thing is delivery takes a while but its worth waiting for.

We are e busy decorating and decided to have fish & chips, my husband drove to Sidhus as they are usually very good. We had fish& chips,fishcake, peas& curry, it was cold & the chips were disgusting lots of black marks on them.

Everything except Chicken and Pizza is great. The Chicken was ok but dry and the Pizza's were awful, as soon as I tasted my Plain Cheese And Tomato Pizza, it was like melted fat, greasy and me and my mum will never get another pizza from there, A gentleman said it was worth waiting for, in my opinion he was easily pleased. If you get you're Pizza with toppings you will not be able to taste the horrible whatever they put on the pizza. Plus maybe that is why it is cheaper than other places? I was starving but we put the pizza in the bin and made something else in stead. Like I said, you can't fault the Fish as it's local, the chicken was fine according to my dad.

Sidhus is always the takeaway we go to when we dont fancy cooking. The staff are very friendly and the prices are fair Even with the move in location, it is still a convenient location!

Our goto takeaway when we can't be bothered to cook! Always good food and usually quick delivery too.

Love the food and the fish is always fresh and large. The only thing to keep in mind is they get busy as do most at lunch time. Use just eat to get your order in and ready for your arrival.
