Don’t bother, unless you want bland, greasy food and an upset stomach afterwards. The menu is strange and confusing, including a huge amount of pork and, I assume, very traditional items such as intestines, trotters and tripe. Not for me. Almost £100 for 2 main dishes, 2 rices (one of which was forgotten and brought after everything else had been finished - but still charged for!!) and some plain, oily noodles. As someone who eats out regularly, I have no issues paying for good food and service, but this offered neither. Service was mediocre to say the least. It almost felt as though it was an inconvenience to serve us! The few other tables who came in and stayed after seeing the menu (there were some who up and left before ordering!) seemed to eat and leave as quickly as possible. Perhaps this place is to some peoples tastes, but after researching restaurants in the area and specifically choosing this one based on its reviews, to say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I wish I hadn’t bothered, had saved my money and my stomach, and had gone home hungry.

Not you’re usual Chinese at all as has items like “pigs trotters and pigs intestines” on the menu. No crispy chilli beef No seaweed No normal Chinese items other than sweet and sour pork/chicken which we ordered the chicken version and was wayyyy to sour from having to much pineapple juice. We also had both there egg fried rice and special fried rice which were ridiculously greasy/oily and the most disappointing part was the “special fried rice consisted of egg, celery and pork fat cubes I kid you not! Whilst we were there two separate groups came in sat down and then got up and left after looking at the menu! I wish we did the same! I hardly ever write reviews but this place needs this! If it wasn’t in such an expensive area with passing tourist trade it wouldn’t be open. I have no idea how it has the rating it does on here and I suspect some funny business going on! You’ve been warned! Lastly it was expensive too and I’d honestly would of rather even paid slightly more and gone hakkasan which is milessss better in food and scenery.

If you your are in the Earl's Court or Gloucester Rd. area, do NOT go to Chinatown for your meal. I should have written a review of the Sichuan Chef long ago - now, it is always our very first stop for dinner on our many visits to London. We ordered our usual: soup (me, the wonderful chicken sweetcorn soup; her, the hot-sour soup), and shared an order of Half Crispy Duck. This was a very filling and satisfying meal. Everything was delicious. And the service was excellent and very personal! All of this meal was only 40.40 Pounds, including tip! This will be #1 for all of our future London visits and I highly recommend it.

Our starter was certainly of a better standard than the main course dishes which were distinctly lacking in flavour. The most telling thing was how many serving plates were still half full and that we didn’t ask to take the remainder home. Not awful food but very ordinary and the restaurant itself in desperate need of some TLC. Ate at Dishoon this evening, fabulous food and the bill was less!… Very dissapointing

We have eaten here/had übereats over the last three+ years on average three times per week (it is clearly out of control, I know!) and have no intention of changing the frequency. Finding the right restaurant in London's Chinatown is a lottery. This one was a winner in my book. We had lunch there, and even though there were many customers on that sunny September day, servoce was fast and the quality fine and matching the price nicely.

This used to be a hidden gem around the corner Earls Court Station. I used to go there at least twice a year since the mid nineties. When the original proprietor left to go back to Chin it still lived up to my expectations. Now for today. I ate early and the place was empty but busy with take away orders. No problem for me. I had a nice table at the entrance and the service was very attentive - no problem to deliver freshly cut Chili and Chili oil. For a starter I had chili salted squid, springs rolls and cucumber salad with peanuts. While I was early the employees/family had their pre-dinner meal which made me feel quite familiar, a "Chinese feeling". The cucumber salad was a bit bland. Peanuts added to the flavour. Perhaps more Chili would serve the taste. The squid was overloaded with batter which is usually not the case with this dish. The spring rolls were quite a portion for a starter which is not their fault of course. I would have expected them to be smaller like on the foto of the menu. They were handmade, but also a bit on the bland side. For the main I had a crispy duck with pancakes and all the trimmings. That absolutely did not fulfil my expectations. The duck was absolutely on the dry side. The pancakes were not delivered in the traditional bamboo basket for whatever reason so they were cold immediately. What a pity. For the wine I had a pleasant Rioja, called Muriel, Finca de la Villas, which I can definitively recommend. The service is pleasant by no means. But I would say they definitively can do better From the menue I learned that they also serve hotpot. Perhaps I give it a try next time. I still stay optimistic with this place. I am writing this while still sitting here. I loved the place and do hope they improve.

La primera vez que tenía una olla caliente, no sabía qué esperar y me sorprendió gratamente. La comida es de calidad, el ambiente es relajante y el personal servicial, lo recomiendo si quieres probar la olla caliente
