Service was mixed. A couple of the staff were really nice but the others really quite rude and also gave us dirty looks when asking for a drink. We also were not asked if we wanted meat of veggie options for the some of the food. We were just asked for any allergies so when we then went to ask to have the veggie option they said we had no choice now it was too late and we were having chicken as we didn’t say before, but we were not asked so how would we know. Not ideal when I don’t eat meat and had to pay £55 for food I couldn’t eat. Additionally the lady in the toilets was so rude and snatched tissues out of my hand when I tried to dry my hands and was generally just not nice. Not a nice addition to a fairly high priced brunch. The food as a whole was good but didn’t appreciate having to pay our bill without receipt 10-20 minutes into the brunch with a service charge before we’d even had the service which I wouldn’t have paid for had I have experienced it before we paid. Have to said the food and drinks were not bad for the money but some of the staff could really be a lot friendlier and not make you feel like your an inconvenience to be there, it’s quite sad.

Terrible experience ! They make you pay before the brunch and that incl service charge so the total was £51 not to mention the £10 deposit paid so £61 in total. My issue with paying service charge is first that you may not always get the service expected and this is what happened in our case ! The area we were sat smelled like piss !! We waited 20 minutes to get our drinks and first round of food. The tortillas were stale and they gave us mayonnaise as a dip ?? The menu said chilli, Salsa and garlic dip … but they gave us mayonnaise as a substitute … Round 3 came before Round 2 …. The skewers were cold, the tacos small and warm !! The plantain very dry. The only good thing about the meal was the edamame and chips We had our table from 9pm …. Didn’t get round 2 till 11pm …. By then we were so fed up with how outrageous and terrible the service and food was that we declined the Round 2 and opted for a refund of the service charge The service was absolutely abysmal, the food was terrible the only saving grace was the alcohol ! Please do not believe the hype on tik tok over this place … it’s not worth the £61 !

Booked the bottomless brunch for a catch up with family. It tells you to get there 10 minutes early but they don’t let you in, so we were stuck out on the street in the lashing rain. When they finally let us in we were shown down(extremely shabby) stairs. The cocktails started well enough but the food took a little while and wasn’t exactly hot when it came. Not long after the music started, fine at first but was then ramped up so we couldn’t hear ourselves talk. We asked for it to be turned down just a little but got told ‘well everyone is just having fun and it’s worse upstairs’ It got turned down for about 2 minutes during which time they came around for the payment… instead of £55 each, it was suddenly £61 as there is a service charge to pay, this wasn’t advertised anywhere. Anyway the music was soon ramped up again with the DJ just shouting into the mic. We said to refund our money and we’ll leave as the rest of the food hasn’t arrived anyway. It was a flat No! The rest of the food minus a dish arrived cold and thrown on to the plate. Tried to complain but we were ignored by this point. The drinks kept on coming but were seriously watered down. We left not long after. In addition to this there was a lady in the ladies selling chupa chups at £10 for 6!! She also asked a girl if she wanted a spray of perfume, she said yes and then asked her for £5 for that one spray! Seriously, avoid this place like the plague, apart from our waitress who tried really hard, no one else is worried as they have your money halfway through and it’s even more downhill from there. Absolute con.

If ever there was an example of a website "polishing a turd" well, then this is it. Digitally the venue gives off a decent, sophisticated look and feel (well done web developer). However, visit the venue and you are in for a shock!! We visited Scian on the 6th July for my wife’s birthday.... and oh what a terrible experience it was! bviously I didn’t want to sully her day any further than my error at booking at this "restaurant" in the first place caused, so we did what we could top try and enjoy it. Firstly, the staff and their general organisation was appalling. I had emailed them repeatedly to inform them that it was a surprise birthday celebration and that the other guests would be there (as requested) for 2.50pm - the idea was simple, they got our guests in and seated and when we turned up it was a surprise. The reality was when we showed up they had everybody queueing outside like a cheap nightclub next to some stinking bins. They completely ruined all the plans I had put in place. No apologies, and seemingly no idea what was going on from the guys on the door. Once inside it became apparent that the door staff were not alone in being completely unable to operate as part of a restaurant operation, it took over 40 mins to filter everyone in and in the interim, we were left sitting waiting, completely confused - with no proper welcome, in fact, nothing at all in the form of hospitality. Non of the table could quite believe just how disorganised and unprofessional it was -to the point where it was almost funny (and seemingly the hen party across the way felt the same by the looks on their faces). Dining experience - simply put the food was awful!! They say on their site they do masterclasses? What is that all about - they seem to have zero direction on what they actually are conceptually. I totally understand Nikkei - my wife and I have travelled to both Peru and Japan and very much enjoy it - what Sican were serving was nothing like it. Californian sushi (which tasted like It had come from Itsu!!), chips, sweet potato, weird tasteless Mexican inspired tortillas and tacos. The whole production was a just a big, insipid mess. Onto service - literally the worst I have ever seen. The staff were unprepared, inattentive and, with respect to the one guy that came to one of my guests an hour in demanding payment, ignorant and very rude. Three of us spent 20 minutes of what was meant to be a group catch up arguing with the imbecile outside. It took the manager to intervene and try and calm it down. Finally, I was requested to pay £80 in advance for the following add on, which I did in the hope it as indeed deliverable: "You get Table decor and helium balloons, shots bought out to a birthday show with sparklers and confetti. You also get a Japanese cheesecake.” So we got a shot tree, which was brought out at the exact moment my wife, who’s birthday we were trying to celebrate, went to the bathroom - although no one seemed to know we were there for her or actually care in the first place (queue Faulty Towers levels of service by the already overwhelmed manager). The shots were not actually shots, Tequila Rose is a liquer, not a spirit, so that is false advertising at best, and at worst a complete miss-sell. The table decor was a joke - a few tacky balloons which exploded on the cheap light fittings over the course of the first 30 mins of us finally being sat down and a tacky table runner that would be better suited to the bottom of a bin. There was no table show - the “show" came past a couple of times as the poor entertainers did their rounds of the enquire venue, which includes a scruffy downstairs area with thread bare carpets. The DJ appeared to be running some sort of R&B pirate radio, pumpng out trashy club hits and shouting out over the microphone to the point where you couldn't hear yourself think, let alone your stupified guests. No cake was ever presented. Again, by this point I was just happy for it to be over and get my party to somewhere where we could receive a modicum of service. I felt it was better to alert them to the terrible experience we were given and also a chance the return of the £80 for the non existent "birthday experience", which we certainly did not get - rather than jumping on review sites. The day after I emailed a version of the above to the manager, PJ, who, after over 3 weeks has failed to respond. Follow ups have proved futile too, with various anonymous staff asking for random, already passed on details and then just ghosting me. So here we are... It's a travesty that in 2024 an operation can exist that is just so unbelievably bad, and especially in Fitzrovia! Non of my party will ever go near it again. I will continue to request a refund for my money which I feel is absolutely fair although, given the state of their opertaion, I will be amazed if they are even able to organise it!! AVOID LIKE THE BLOODY PLAGUE.

Amazing, can’t rate this venue highly enough, the staff were fantastic, I’m not a seafood eater, so they offered me meat sushi instead which was so nice, can’t wait to return the next time I visit London, and omg the banana daiquiri’s are out of this world xx

Third time doing this brunch - first time was amazing hence booking a second time. Second time had gone slightly downhill but was ok and the brunch on Saturday 29th June was so poorly organised it’s put me off ever returning. We were told to queue to the left in which we were stood there for an hour standing next to piles of rubbish with no apology or explanation for the hour long wait in a queue for a brunch that was booked for 6pm. Payment was taken on the door with an added service charge - a bit cheeky asking for a service charge before actually receiving any service. We were told on the door (only after complaining about the hour long wait in the queue) that we would get an extra half hour added onto the brunch. Sat down and the drinks were lovely - good selection, had to keep chasing for service though and food was ok. We were then told to leave after 1 1/2 hours as they had to setup for the next brunch. Different to what we were told on the door. I did feel sorry for the staff as they seemed to be getting complaints for many tables due to the same thing. Would not return again based on this experience which is a shame because this would be a great brunch if organised better.

KFC and Mconalds at best Paid £130 via buy a gift expecting a 10 course meal and quality wine. How was wong When we arrived at the restaurant, we were shown to a table and represented with a menu for £28 per person , luckily I had saved screenshots of my correspondence with the restaurant previously detailing that indeed will be a 10 course meal with a £55 bottle of wine. Presented we best of £15 bottle of supermarket wine. For the best bit - we were served dumplings that were overcooked and rubbery chicken that wouldn’t be fit for KFC and as it was burnt and fries with mayonnaise which McDonald’s could’ve done a better job of! We left half way through The establishment project itself on offering lots of free drinks which is fine for a time in a place, such as stags and hens - but please don’t confuse this a genuine Japanese food restaurant !

We visited Sican and had a fantastic time. The food is plentiful - we honestly couldn’t finish any of the courses between three of us. The stand out for us were the bottomless drinks - the banana daiquiri and lychee martini were particularly lovely. Valentina was a great host, thanks so much for having us! The only tiny downsides were having to foot the bill upon entry without knowing the service would be so strong and the music was a tiny bit too loud where we were sat to hear one another properly. Would definitely recommend and absolutely visit again!

Ok so this is a honest review. Waited in queue outside next to a load of bin bags. Was there 5:45pm and the queue wasn’t let until 6:15pm. When it came to my turn, they couldn’t find my booking even though I had paid a deposit. Was very irritating at this point. Finally they found my booking for 3 and we were seated to a cute little booth which made me and my sister feel happier. Drinks didn’t come to us until 6:30pm and I did make a point to our waiter that I’ve read reviews that yous charge from 6pm, but he assured me they’d run past 8pm for the bottomless drinks. Food eventually came out slowly, food was delicious. Honestly the variety on their menu is great and I don’t care what anyone says all of it was tasty. We even paid extra for lamb cutlets and they stunning. The DJ and entertainment started rolling and the atmosphere was great. Some performers and the staff are really fun and make the experience exciting. The booze was flowing very nicely and we upgraded to some champagne for £40. My sister tried 3 of the cocktails and they were lovely. Once it got to around 8:20pm the DJ said last song which in my opinion was a bit weird and the manager started saying to everyone we have get ready to leave. Like literally started shouting “right people, time to go”. Just reminded me of being on an excursion in Europe or sumin lol. We hadn’t finished our champagne yet so we were a little disappointed we had to try down it, however the manager came over to us and said yous don’t need to rush and escorted us to the downstairs bar. To be honest it was really nice of him. We went downstairs and a few other guests were invited downstairs and we continued the party. DJ was still playing songs and the bar was open. Not guna lie we only bought one drink as we still had champagne left. Overall other than the chaotic start and end, the main event is definitely fun. It’s not 5* The Ritz treatment, but that’s not what we paid for. The staff do their very best to look after their guests and you can see they are so rushed and overworked but they good at what they do. The main thing is the booze was flowing and the food was delicious. I will definitely go back again one day with my mates.

Sadly a poor experience here on Saturday 3pm - 5pm. I The staff were not attentive and we struggled to get drinks. They would take orders for cocktails and just not deliver them. We seemed to be pretty much ignored. The staff in general seemed stressed and pretty unhappy. The DJ and music are so loud you can't hear the person sitting next to you, let alone across the table. This isn't a great vibe for a brunch. Our vegetarian friend received her food at 5pm - just as our sitting was ending. We were asked to pay our bill half way through the sitting. They said the price on the website was out of date and charged us £61 per person ( the website says £55) and we'd already paid a £5 per person deposit. The staff were pretty rude about this. After complaining they were adamant the only way the deposit could be refunded was by phoning the the office on Monday .... until we saw someone else getting a refund and they then honoured ours - annoying ! There are 3 ladies toilets - one was out of order. At least 10 girls queueing ( as 4 girls were inside one of the cubicles with the door locked) and then there was no toilet roll. We spoke to the manager at the end of the sitting and he told us to sit downstairs next time as the service is much better down there. Ridiculous - there won't be a next time for any of us.

SCAM. SCAM. SCAM. First off its not £55 as a bunch of reviews already noted- its £65. Second- food is decent for a brunch but if your vegan or have allergies be ready to fight for your rights.... they don't really care or give a crap Thrird- drinks... or sounds like a hood deal but drunks are defo watered down. My BIGEST issue was- because all bottomless drinks from the menu tasted like sugar syrup I decided to order off menu. A standard cocktail. All seemed fine until the waiter decide to take payment on his personal phone as a payment directly to him. Luckily I was sober enough on the sugar syrup cocktails to realise his tricks and asked him to get another card reader- as in a normal shop one.. not your phone! Be aware of this scam. FORTH- sal, the 80 year old dj's crowd hype man dancing with all the young lovley ladies- just a little creepy and out of control tbh. Touching ppl inappropriately and getting away with it because he is old and has a whistle is just irresponsible. Fifth- agree with all other reviews. All staff just don't give a damr. They are rude, rushed, careless and don't care about experience. Eg we were a group of 12 and they refused to take individual payments of food. Instead 1 person had to pay £700 odd pounds on 1 card because some rubbish staff lafy couldn't be borhered to do individual payments. Just wholly inconsiderate..... Honestly this place is awful and more of a gimmick then authentic fun....

The food at Sican was 10/10!! Your usual brunch you get one dish but here the dishes were plentiful and kept coming! All of the food was seasoned well and the brunch food was full of variety. I enjoyed it and felt safe and satisfied as someone with a food allergy. Finally, amazing sushi!! Thank you Sican team, I’ll be back 100% :)

I booked the bottomless brunch for my partner for her surprise Birthday. The overall vibe and the atmosphere was great. There was decent customer service and the drinks were good, especially the Lychee Martini which was a hit in our group! At times the music was excessively loud so we couldn't hear each other speak in most cases. The downside of the experience was the food, Round 1 was ok, Round 2 was meh and Round 3 I wouldn't recommend. It was great to have the experience of sharing food amongst the group, but I definitely wouldn't consider this a noteworthy part of the bottomless brunch. The dancers were a great addition to the brunch but I felt this was a ploy to prevent making additional orders for drinks. If you would like an energetic brunch with lovely drinks and not too fussed with the quality of the food I'd say give it a go!

DO NOT GO HERE. My friends and I went to the sushi making bottomless drinks class yesterday and it was just terrible. Seated at 7 and didn't get to start making sushi until 20:15 which was then the only food we got to eat so I left starving. They were terrible at topping up the drinks and because they packed us in so tight it wasn't possible for staff to get through and they didn't care. One manager taunted me when I indicated from a distance our table needed topping up which is unbelievably unprofessional. The rudeness of the staff was just crazy. I would never go here again. They are so unprepared to hold this class, we were passing round trays of ingredients and everyone thete had their hands in the raw fish which is completely unsanitary and sometimes the ingredient would reach the back where we sat and would be empty so we didn't get to make as much food. Going here is a massive waste of your money. The place is dingy and it smells. Male and female manager extremely rude and patronising.
