Got to be the best Chinese not only in Bromyard but Herefordshire.the quality of food is second to none ,always hot when l get home ,the portions are very very generous.l have been going to the shun fat for many years and it never disappoints.can’t beat homemade chips not this frozen rubbish l have also had fish and chicken and that is great too.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me

I used to use this Take a way on a regular basis.Unfortunately it has gone down hill in the last few months.Had Itake away tonight and my child’s chicken was pink when she cut it up .

Rubbish never opens on time and closes early to suit himself. why advertise your opening hours if you are closed? Plus very dangerous parking

rang up and ordered a considerable meal from them (a 6 monthly treat we have) they said it would take 20 minutes so drove straight there and it was! it was great, this is definitely best Chinese take away this side of Hereford, food was very tasty reasonably priced and freshly cooked for most part, would definitely recommend

Best chip shop and Chinese in the world, such friendly staff, that chips are seriously the best in the world, all of the food is. I drive a 20 mile round trip to get a takeaway from there.

Absolutely rubbish fat grease oil not edible and not the fist time I’ve had it won’t go back again recooked food not worth the money

Dreadful. Chips were so greasy and horrible. We returned them and were given ‘fresh’ ones. Still greasy and horrible so returned again. Now having to cook at home after the terrible ordeal. Never will we betray Lins Wok again.

i have been coming here from KIDDERMINSTER especially for the shun fats chips and Chinese food. you cant fault it, its the best on the planet, and the people who run it are friendly and hard working. what more could you want. I am not a chip fan normally, but the shun fats chips are worth driving those extra miles for, as they are the only chips I like. well done.

Had a Chinese from here recently and it was really nice! Good quality food, very clean place, quick service and they were very accommodating for my boyfriend’s nut allergy. Other Chinese takeaways have not been as accommodating in the past. Definitely will be returning!

Have been using this takeaway for over 20 years now and I am yet to have a bad meal. Can not fault Richard and his hard working staff!

Dont think I've ever had a bad takeaway from Shun Fat! I know the chips can sometimes be a bit greasy ... but when are chippy chips ever not? They've come from a frier what do you expect ? This place is always busy so the fish and chips is always freshly done and the bbq sauce is the best ever. Really good - you won't be disappointed.

Working in the area and this was the closest chinese takeaway. Menu looked great so I popped over to check it out Staff were great and knew the menu as I asked for mixed meat curry and they chose the Singapore Style curry with boiled rice. Prices were very reasonable and food was prepared quite quickly. I took it back to my guest house with a can of coca cola. Food was pipping hot as they use foiled containers. Portions slightly smaller than my usual chinese but didn't put me off as the quality of food was great! Good sized mixed meat in my curry including chicken, pork and king prawns, with onions but surprised no mushrooms. I had a portion of boiled rice to compliment my curry dish. The curry paste was nice a thick with a medium heat, just right for me. Thanks for a lovely dinner

The chill ribs are quite the best I’ve tasted as they are slow cooked then finally second cooked for serving so the meat just falls off the bone. No tearing at it caveman style. Next favourite is yeuong chow fried rice with a portion of the curry sauce which sets it off beautifully. For a snack go for chips and a curry sauce. All excellent.

Feel shun fat has had its day. Very greasy everything is served with onion and peas. Only thing I will eat from there is chicken curry or pancake roll. Other meats and are chewy and not very nice

Great for a Friday night takeaway - very very popular so expect a bit of a wait. But worth it. Great Chinese food. Reasonably price. Also do fish and chips etc. But found those a bit greasy.

Went there about 5 ish, was looking forward to the splendid food rated on this site. AARR...Total reheated, grease covered fish( may have been cod, couldn’t tell!) with equally rubber chips, a big, sticky mess of them. They ended up in the bin at home. I cannot remember worse. They show a five star rating on the window. I don’t think so. Will check with health department at the council.

Shun Fat serves the very best chips, sweet and nicely brown, served with the nicest curry sauce I’ve ever had.

We were passing through Bromyard and fancied fish and chips.

I had Indian for our special occasion takeaway but hubby had pancake roll, bbq ribs and shared some plain chow menu with our son. Our son ended up eating the ribs as had never tried before and really enjoyed. Only downside is the limited veg accompanying each meal tends to be onion and peas. It’s ok here

Most people I know like Shun Fat. It has a 'style' all its own! The food is great - Chinese or Chippy - and the portion size is outstanding. Frankly, the best value for money fast food in Bromyard - I just wish they delivered!

This is the best Chinese in bromyard! However as a family it is often easier to order lins wok as shun fat unfortunately don't deliver.... I love their spring rolls!

Regularidad a chippy. Patatas fritas realmente encantadora, un poco pasada, pero eso es lo que me gusta de ellos, muchas patatas fritas, otros están demasiado seco, tratando de ser saludable en detrimento del chip humilde. La comida china que he probado también son preciosas, no buscar ahora thd para repetir bastante grande, pero las patatas fritas, especialmente frituras bien subido al día siguiente, no se hace nada desperdiciado.

been coming here for years, sometimes the meals are not up to scratch, however usually they are to a decent quality. I love having the best of both worlds and being able to choose between Chinese or chippy if the family don't want the other.

We moved house and had had a very long day, with boxes of our belongings everywhere in our new abode. So we decided to get a chinese takeaway from our new local town (which is lovely btw). Someone had said that Shun Fat was good so we drove along and placed an order. The menu isn't hugely imaginative compared to previous Chinese menus that we'd been familiar with and the food when it arrived was disappointing, greasy and bland. We opted not to go back.

Never had a problem with being ill after having eaten here. The portion sizes are fine just disappointing that if dish come with veg then that means onions and peas

The usual extensive Chinese takeaway menu, but too much MSG for my liking. I was rather hoping that it would be third time lucky as it is one of my local Chinese takeaways, and the previous two visits have been unfavourable, but alas...

This chip shop is a very busy place where people have it at least once a week but it far far to greasy for me. The only thing I get occasionally from here is a fishcake.

Great fish and chips. Huge portions of chips and the proprietor is very entertaining. The Chinese menu is extensive and always excellent. Beware of queues on Friday night. Phone orders are the way to go!

We love shun fat Chinese. Not to keen on there chips as they are often mushy or greasy but everything else is pretty good. The only thing if being picky would be sometimes it can be a bit greasy and there's no delivery which is a shame as the other two chineses offer a delivery service.

Now I must admit our meal was tasty but it was so greasy. The chips were very soggy. I don't expect gourmet food from a takeaway but soggy and greasy do not a happy diner make.

Ordered a meal of ribs for starters which were OK, mains were beef in black bean and chicken satay. The beef in black bean was tasteless but did get finished. The chicken satay was awful, the chicken pieces were not the best of quality, grisly and to top it off the large pieces were raw in the middle! When I saw this, it was binned immediately, not wanting to be ill on uncooked food. Very disappointed, won't be going back again for sure, not even for chips!

Nice fish and chips but it is really greasy all the time they must pure oil instead of viniger and salt !But if you had a good night in the pub and you got no idea what you gona get then go for it if I was sober il think twice ,

Don't expect finesse here. This is a proper old fashioned chip shop with generous portions of real chips, freshly fried fish and the usual array of pies, sausages and so forth. Provides Chinese takeaway food also.

Richard at Shun Fat has consistently produced the finest salt and chilli ribs we have ever found. We try them elsewhere and have to tear the meat from the bone. Richard's fall off the bone like a well-cooked lamb shank does. His chips ( he is nominally a fish and chip shop) are also the best we find and better than many so-called award winning chip shops here in Bristol. His secret is a rigid adherence to quality and care in the cooking with frequent changes of oil and careful temperature control. We travel to Bromyard where we used to live to see friends, and we usually buy 2 or 3 lots of ribs to take back and eat hot or cold or freeze. Chips and a curry sauce as a starter. Yum Yum! The rest of his menu is as tasty and well-prepared as these two alternatives. Well worth the petrol for non-locals.

Several recent visits have only confirmed my average rating. I would only go again if everywhere else was closed.

We rang up to order our meal, as there were 14 of us. Despite a 4 mile drive, the food was still hot, and was fine for Friday night fish and chip meal.

The only "chip shop" open on a monday and obviously they don't go fishing at weekends! Just had a "large" fish and chips as a last resort having used this place before and hated it.IT HAS NOT IMPROVED! The "fish" when the batter had been grinded through was not there,swam away possibly but deffinetily not in the batter,it was like a hollow tube.I was going to take the place to trading standards but what's the point when there's nothing to show them? How can a local beautiful rural place like this have such an awful chip shop? The locals love it only because there's no choice,don't be fooled by the other ratings,honestly don't go there!!!!!!!!!!!

I would just like to say that since I have been using Shun Fat I have not had a bad meal We normally order over the phone a call in to collect having got an estimate as to when the meal would be ready. ALWAYS IT VERY BUSY SO THAT IN ITSELF SPEAK VOLUMES FOR THE QUALITY OF THE PLACE

I have been to no end of Chinese takeaways over the years, and I have yet to find one that beats my local. I have never, since coming to Bromyard in 1978, had a bad meal from this place. Richard is always friendly and welcoming; the prices are good and every meal is good - Chinese and English alike. Full marks to a brilliant takeaway.

Best Chinese in Bromyard - if only they would offer delivery service!Bromyard is a rural community and it can be a pain to get into car to drive 8 mile round trip for take-away. Fortunately the food makes up for the trip (As does the pint of real ale in the 'Rosie!).All in all - very good take-away.

I have been going to shunfat for years because there meals have been lovely, but these last 3 to 4 months it has been going down hill, chips are not cooked there white and pale not nice, also sometimes very gressy, and there pancakes and fish are also very gressy,

Very poor food unless you like fish in uncooked batter ,tried the Chinese menus also very greasy probably one of the worst Chinese takeaway I have visited, Beware!!!

I often come to this takeaway and I must say that the food is incredible! If you are thinking of getting a takeaway from Bromyard then Shun Fat over rules all of the other takeaways. There is such a wide variety of meals (not all of it is Chinese, so if you are not a fan, there is also fish & chips, pancake rolls etc) . The portions are quite large, so I would recommend getting smaller amounts of chips. It can be a little busy inside the takeaway, but that is only because it is so popular because it is so good. Ignore the bad reviews! The family who run this are friendly and helpful! :)

Bought a take away from this place, that once tried went straight in the bin, the chicken fried rice had what can only be described as pieces of blackened shoe leather in it. The dishes were greasy, and tasted truly awfull. In 45 years I have never before discarded an entire takeaway, but did so with this without hesitation.

Have had food from here before and it was ok, but today we decided to have a bank holiday take away and it was absolutely dreadful. Greasy, gloppy and vile. The dog had mine.

I have used this take-away many times over the tend years I have been making a trips to this area, and so far it has never disappointed. I am not really a chip person and tend to stick to their chinese menu which is superb, but I did try their chips and curry sauce for a lunchtime visit and their curry sauce is really nice. Highly recommended.

Literally just eaten food from here for the first time so opinion is valid. Apparently this is the best chinese place? Come down to Essex then.. Smallest portion of rice ever, a joke for more then 2 people eating. Very average portion of chips, was led to believe it was going to be the largest portion I have ever seen.. The person saying that either works there or literally ordered the large portion in which case duh! You guys are missing out on roast pork chinese style so we ordered roast port with pineapple... it looks pale and disgusting, it smells horrible and you can guess what it tastes like.. Sorry to say but I also didn't have a eureka moment when I ate the chips.. they tasted fine but definitely not the best.

very, very busy chinese restaurant serving chiefly huge portions of chips....and I mean huge...in the distance vats of half cooked chips on view...outside empty drums of economy oil !!!when I say busy, I mean very,very busy...so what they serve the customers clearly want....great crowds of very overweight people waiting....clearly obesity is an issue here.....the chips were slimy, grease soaked paper...no...not for me...dumped the lot! never go back here again.....nice chat from friendly?owner.....who clearly knows his crowd and they are regulars for certain......Friday night...they simply cannot cook fast enough to serve......why do these people eat this sort of stuff....maybe its the price....or convenience...not the taste.....

Used to be a lot better. Last time I went the chips didn't taste the best - It is the best chip shop in Bromyard though I think.

We often phone for a take away, my favourite is Lemon Chicken. My son love the chicken chow mein and BBQ Sauce . My daughter loves the prawn crackers. I know people that come from Malvern every Saturday to collect thier take away

Last weekend I had a king prawn curry and my wife had a chicken and mushroom curry and we shared a portion of chips and a portion of fried rice. Absolutely fabulous. No wonder always busy.

Excellent and well cooked food, a great selection of both Chinese and British food. Really friendly service, extremely clean serving area, and great value all round. The original AND BEST Bromyard Chinese takeaway.

This has to be one of the best chinese take aways in the area. Food always piping hot and really flavoursome with several original dishes on the menu. Their massive home made Pancake Rolls are to die for packed with shrimps and pieces of pork - yum! Full credit to the proprietor!!
