First time ordering here, and it won't be the last! Food was great. Staff were friendly. Our order was prepared quite quickly.

Gave a 3 because I actually did like the chips, has for the triple crown I managed to eat the prawns, pineapple and the ginger and the sauce was nice, but the beef was like sandwich beef from Morrisons, looked like it had been thrown in wok at the very end with the raw onion and carrot, and the duck was inedible, now to the boiled rice, the last time that rice saw water was in the paddy fields, straight in the bin... I have given up on Leominster takeaways, apart from de'marco's for chips.. stick to the Cabin at Presteigne or my few favourites in hereford for my Chinese.

The Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings are UNBELIEVABLY delicious as well as the Salt & Pepper chips! The staff are so helpful especially when it's sooooo busy!

Iv always had amazing foid from here but the special curry was tasteless. And not a special curry the beef was cheap and we could not eat it ...all we had was rice and chicken. Its supposed to have duck and beef with chicken and prawn too . Cheap and nasty ... The bbq sauce was not bbq at all ... I spent 36 pounds on rubbish we could not eat it . . .

Totally pot lick. Early week evening food is greasy and poor a d would rank as possible worst takeaway in the county, yet at weekends a totally different experience with food well prepared and cooked to expectations. Shame as not many alternatives in the town and could do better

The starters were deep fried frozen cash and carry mush.. I ordered ribs with Peking sauce except it wasn't Peking sauce. It tasted as if a tub of sugar had been emptied over the meat. I couldn't taste any garlic, spices or herbs. It was disgusting and one of the ribs was just a lump of gristle - absolutely NO meat just gristle and inedible. I've previously had their dried up, cooked 2 hours before, chips so know to avoid those. I know this place has a bad reputation but it's become even worse to a point of horrible. The dogs enjoyed the starters and, as I was simply told that is what Peking sauce should taste like, with no apology for the lump of gristle, then this place doesn't deserve customers.

Paid £8 for a King prawn egg Foo young, it was the worst Chinese meal I have ever experienced. We were staying locally for one night or I would have gone back in person the next day to complain. Small plastic tub with a lot of water in the bottom, poorly cleaned prawns - I spent time devaining them myself. Chunks of half cooked onion and a small portion of some very rubbery egg no taste at all .

Nice food didn't take long to cook and ok price

Chicken s&s large chunks in batter, nice sauce, lge portion. Mushrooms in noodles, tasty, less portion. Egg fried rice, brown, couldn't find egg, tasteless, this let meal down. Will visit tonight 9.4.23, worth a 2nd chance. Have had fish n chips b4, nice flavour value for money.

Great food and staff are helpful and friendly

Ordered for 6.30 , had to wait a while which I didn’t mind but got home ,food was cold and the crispy shredded beef was disgusting. I won’t be going back!

Additional 50p to make ye tasteless curry hot? And now they charge 10p for a take away bag!!! Go to Hereford or Tenbury if ye want a decent Chinese...

This takeaway has been here for decades, and have had a great meal from them every time. Always busy but prompt service. Would highly recommend.

It’s a decent go to local place, would suggest they start taking cards, also it is expensive for generic Chinese food, but for what it is it’s good quality

Disappointing, shredded spicy beef was burnt and tasteless, no spice, actually couldn’t eat it. Curry sauce not so good either and missed an item altogeter

Disgusting all hard and the chips weren’t even cooked properly stale pies shrivelled sausage not the first time NEVER AGAIN

Really poor quality for the price!! I had the spicy shredded beef with fried rice, the beef had no flavour and zero heat, and the accompanying sauce was also ridiculously sweet and barely edible. As for the rice, it tasted of the plastic storage container it had been kept in, that was the first thing that hit you when it was opened. I seriously doubt the owners would eat the quality of food they are serving!

Won’t be back. Sweet & sour chicken dry and coated with thick soggy batter. Sauce gelatinous and luminous pink! Fried rice wet and sticky. Only redeeming feature of meal was Triple Crown. Worse Chinese meal I’ve had.

Ordered from here last night, was very good food. Stayed nice and hot until we arrived back, but more expensive than our usual Chinese takeaway in Birmingham but overall decent :)

Usually the food is pretty good here and over the last 2-3 years we have been getting the occasional takeaway from here and it's never been "terrible* but once every 4-5 orders we would get a slightly below par meal. We ordered from Chopsticks when we didn't want to collect the food as New Golden Dragon don't deliver and the food was incredible from there but we tried the New Golden Dragon again last week and it was awful. The chicken chow mein tasted like disinfectant, it was as if they'd used washing up liquid instead of soy sauce! The rice was soggy, the chips were soggy, the chicken balls were rock hard and only decent thing was the bag of prawn crackers. I don't mind having an "ok" takeaway, one that does the job, but this was appalling. It wasn't edible. I have no idea how food that bad can be served at any type of restaurant or takeaway. Do yourself a favour and go to chopsticks instead. We have never, ever had a bad meal from there and in fact the food is very good and they deliver too. I am not sure what happened with our food at the New Golden Dragon but it was so bad that I am put off the idea of ever going there again.

Could not eat my takeout only had pie&chips pie was as solid as a brick and the chips don’t know where to start. Shall not be returning don’t know if it’s changed management nether had a problem before

I had Special curry, Special fried rice and barbecue ribs The Special curry was so bland and needs more flavour. Special rice was awful with barbecue sauce on top of it for what reason I don't know. The ribs was so dry with the worst barbecue sauce flavour ever. Won't be ordering from here again.

Fairly average Chinese takeaway. Efficient service (asked to collect at a specific time, spot on), reasonable value, reasonable food. Good effort on Covid security. Nothing bad to say, but nothing outstanding either

Chicken curry needs some tlc. Basic in2and basic flavour

I have two big problems with this takeaway based on my experience today Firstly, some of us still take Covid seriously and if you believe this takeaway, according to their hand written sign they only allow two people in at a time. Not when I was there. 3 people and not a word said, no social distance reprimand given, they only interested in the money they can get for their slop (sorry food) That's the second point. When you pay over your harder to get money, you may be forgiven for expecting a fresh meal, unless going to a JD. Here today bold as brass, they bring in a tray of good knows how old previously cooked chips and dump them in, thinking I must be blind. Needless to say I was not optimistic on my return. I was right as it turns out, because double cooked old chips equals hard mega greasy inedible chips and as for the prawn toast, I am not taking the risk. I just hope tomorrow that I am not poorly. Prior to this they have also messed up orders. I do not know if there is a new ownership, but this place has gone to the dogs and the food is not worthy of dogs. Wont be going back again, wasted my last cash on this place. They need to go retrain at Shun Fat in Bromyard, a proper chinese takeaway.

Had a takeaway tonight and it was so good, the quality of the food was really good and it was delicious. Their covid precautions were very efficient. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Two stars is generous, but despite this being by far the worst Chinese food I've ever bought I quite enjoyed it. We ordered kung po char siu with special fried rice, with some chips and curry sauce on the side. The rice dish was a wet mess, which although generous on the meat was just a damp splodge. It wasn't even soy sauce, just some sort of bland, pale gravy. The char siu was just sliced pork, the kung po sauce very sweet. On the plus side, the chips were proper chippy chips and the curry sauce was the chip-shop variety. But be warned, no one has told this shop that it's 2020 - they ONLY TAKE CASH!

Ordered roast duck with plum sauce it was horrid - the fat on the duck hadn’t been rendered down at all it was very sloppy! The meat itself was fine- the sauce was like water! Plum sauce should be thick and unctuous! I think Gok Wan should do a Goks kitchen nightmare cause he would be shocked at the food we are served!

Called in for some chips. Social distancing effective but the chips were horrible. They were anaemic, tasteless and barely cooked. They obviously use the wrong variety of potato and fry them for half the time they should. Their Chinese is average but I won't be ordering chips again. The dog ate them.

1 star is far too much Long wait for very very poor food. If I could attach a photo I would. Must have been the third re heat. Everything was dry. Sauce was like it had been stood there for days can not put into words how bad this really was

Love the Kung Po chicken here and spring rolls to die for.

This was my third vist since october 2019 and everytime there has been an issue with the quality of the food! This used to be the best takeaway in town but since the change of hands its hit rock bottom On each occasion there has been a dish that's been inedible and we spend aporox £35 EACH VISIT, this visit was the last time i will purchase a takeaway from this establishment. Front of house staff are very polite but that is the only positive thing i have to say.

Sadly, our order was wrong. Ordered a "vegetable satay" and received a "special satay" - inedible for a vegetarian. Kitchen error as the young girl read back our whole order before we got off the phone. We were offered a swap if we brought it back straight away (we live 20/25 mins away so that wasn't an option). No offer of the meal refund/replacement on our next visit. Shredded beef tasted strange (like flour). Rest of meal was nice/acceptable though.

Worst Chinese I've ever eaten from and I've bought from Chinese restaurants all over the country

Have tried several different chinese meals here. Whilst the food is tasty, the meat element is inedible. We have tried chicken, beef and pork, all have the same cardboardy stale consistency and taste. Such a shame as the rest of the meal is fine

Called in on the off chance as the other Chinese take away was closed, so glad we did, the food was excellent and really good value, good sized portions, so some Chinese for breakfast.

Ordered a take away last night at 19.00pm, got it home and dished up, the chips were uncooked the beef curry was so bland and tasteless that it went in the bit. My boys had sweet and sour chicken and they said it didnt taste nice, so i had a go and there was something wrong with it and that to went in the bit. This is the second time in six weeks that the food has not been good sadley so wont be going back.

as a family we have used the golden dragon every fews months for 20 years or so. when the family are all together we always get a takeaway and we have NEVER been disappointed. Last night we had the set meal for 4 and veggie spring rolls - all delicious and very reasonably priced. called to order, went to the vaults for a pint, picked up 30 mins later - perfect.please don't be put off by the reviews, try it yourself and then decide.

Awful bland keep away I can not think of anything good to say about this place a total waste of money.

Visited a couple of years ago, and the food was good. This time not so good, and they got the order wrong - which we didn't find out until we got back to the campsite 6 miles away. What we did get was ok but nothing great. A shame because we'd been looking forward to it after our positive experience a couple of years ago. It just shows how a place can change over time.🤨

The first time I visited, the chips were so good I shed a tear when they had all gone. The second time I visited they were bleeding awful. I will have to return for a 3rd time to make up my mind as all chippies have off days don't they. I will update this review after my next visit.

Have been to golden dragen leominster this eve. My order was prawn toast was like been sank in a fryer of old oil that has not been changed in months. A spring roll,last time i wanted to know why i had 4 small ones and not the large thay do in batter. I was told the meat ones are. So i went for meat. I got 2 little one a bit bigger than last but not the one thay said thay do in batter. Now the chips thay have 2 young girls on the front cooking and serving. These chips along with the toast went in the bin. Thay were full grease and not cook seems like oul us not hot. Waste 7 pound. Only thing worth eating is the curry. 20 years ive used this take away living in the town. In last 5 months ive tyed the others with the odd pop into the dragon. This will be the last. Has this take away changed hands or somthing. Seems to me somthing going on. Not like used to be.

I order chicken and mushroom curry and a portion of chips for 17:30 and around 23:30 I became violently sick Throughout the night with vomiting and diarrhoea. Had to see a doctor who asked what had I eaten and said there must of been something wrong with that meal I had eaten from the Golden Dragon. Never again will I order any sort of Curry from there.

First time here...as a truck driver im all over UK... Fancied a takeaway... Checked review...4.4 stars... Thought i would try it.. King prawn curry with mushrooms egg fried rice and 2 pancake rolls... I gauge any takeaway on prawn curries.. 8 to 10 prawns gets my vote Consistency of sauce And pancake rolks that are crispy not oil laden.. This takeaway hit the spot... Would be 5 star from me apart from 1 thing.... Supercritical...but i prefer my mushrooms sliced not just quartered...

had a S&S pork last night! terrible. Rice was poorly seasoned and grossly over cooked -= a white splodge. The S&S sauce was so orange it was almost illuminated and there were no shreds of veg in it. Didn't investigate the pork but it and the whole dish was completely without flavour. Tasteless and expensive

I bought fish and chips from here at 8.30 on a Saturday night. The Chips were ok but the fish was inedible, it looked as if it had been fried twice there was so much batter, the fish was tiny and was like a piece of rubber, it was dreadful.I rang to complain when I got home and to suggest that they didn't sell the rest, they offered me a refund but that is not the point, I was hungry and the food was not fit to eat.

Very nice food place and lovely Staff, especially a very polite young lady called Gabby I believe, she is kind, friendly and very cheery, a gem to the place, will definetly come back!

House special Egg Foo Young came with extra "eggshell", rendering it inedible. I took it back only to be asked to pay an extra 80p for an alternative meal and was refused any replacement rice at all. No apology was offered and staff appeared to consider me a nuisance, as evidenced by the sighs and rolling eyes !

Great take away, Chinese food is very good. Telephone orders taken they tell you how long and its always ready. Only thing they could change is they should allow card payment instead of everything being cash.

We visited this takeaway on the last night of our holiday, and we really wish we had known about it sooner as the food was lovely. We ordered a Chinese takeaway.. and it was one of the best takeaways we’ve had! If we are ever in Leominster again we would definitely go back.

Take it from a Chinese who loves authentic food. If you are looking for value for money, good quality take away, do not come here. There is a Chinese take away 3 minutes down the street away from the centre called 'golden dragon . I want my money back. Everytime I get scammed at this place.

There used to be a sit down restaurant by this take away, and that was lovely. However, the food is still really good, and its very efficiently served. I was told off this week however, I was too early! My wife phoned th order in, and the traffic was lighter than I'd expected! Our meal, when it was finally ready, was really lovely. I'd particularly recommend the Satay chicken, lovely veg super balance of flavour. I hope one day, the sit down restaurant will reopen

What a shame the young staff members are more interested in sharing the content of their mobile phones, instead of concentrating on customer service.

Prompt friendly service. Prices fair. Large menu including fish and chips and pies (the pies did look a bit burnt and iffy though). Take away - not a restaurant. Our choice basic fare but tasty.

Good food. Staying on holiday. Sweet and sour is not chicken balls but strips in a light crispy batter. Singapore noddles we delicious and the chicken in chicken and cashew was lovely and tender. Liked it so much we had it again on the last day.

Try the special fried rice. Generous enough to feed me twice and such variety.

A great Chinese takeaway. Quick service.

Tenía una muy sabrosa comida china, orden sobre el teléfono y recoge 15 minutos más tarde. Aparcamiento exterior, la tienda era muy concurrido, pero tras ordenar por teléfono, habíamos pagado y a la izquierda en un par de minutos. Un gran servicio.

i live close to this takeaway. I have given this place a few chances to provide a meal that resembles.. or even tastes like ANY food. I can not even describe the the swill.Tonight was the final straw.DO EAT HERE Leominster has much more to offer.. including award winning restaurants and a fantastic history and very friendly people.These people let us down.

Haven’t been for over 6 months because we had such a bad take away.so was hopping it might have just been a bad blip!it wasn’t :(I ordered chicken ball curry sauce, the batter was so over cooked and dry it was inedible, the bag which held the chicken balls in had enough oil in I could have refilled my deep fryer at home! The curry sauce was so thick it was gritty which meant it needed more hot water to let it down and then reheat.it really got no better as the rice was over cooked and the chip were undercooked.Pork sweet and sour was so watered down it didn’t stick to the pork.The chicken chow main was tasteless and the egg-foo yung was grey and salty.they double up as a fish and chip shop which is dreadful, when I was picking up the take a way a guy wanted fish and chips to be told it would be 20 mins as they would have to cook the fish, so asked if they had mince beef and onion pie yes but would have to defrost it in the microwave…but they had chicken and mushroom pie! Someone else told him that there was a chippie in the centre of town that had loads of fish and chips….the guy then left!I will not be trying it out again, unfortunately there are now no good Chinese take a ways in Leominster, they have all gone down the" buy cheap sell high" philosophy....very sad 

Really good selection of dishes. We were staying across the road so wandered over and ordered. We were ordering to feed nine adults and all the food was freshly cooked without too much of a wait. We had ordered crispy duck to start and found it a bit odd that it arrived as two duck fillets that we had to shred ourselves, still no big hardship. Overall the food was OK and nicely cooked, but there were a lot of vegetables to pad it out. Also as we were spending £103, it would have been a nice touch if a bag of prawn crackers could have been included but we were informed that they were not included and would need to be purchased. Overall, it was OK, but I would not be in a hurry to order again for the reasons outlined above.

The food here is fine but fine isn't good enough for the prices! I could barely tell the difference between the dishes even after tasting them all. The prawn crackers were very chewy. It's okay for a quick Chinese but there are many better ones!

After a stand up argument with the driver who was adamant I needed to pay (payed by card) discovered I had 4 pieces of chicken in my sweet n sour chicken and a hand full of cold chips. Really disappointed and hungry
