Ordered food at 7:50pm. Estimated an 8:40pm delivery.. It came to 9pm and still no delivery. I phoned and the staff said "5 minutes away" Another 20 minutes I called again.. the woman blamed the driver.. claiming ‘ The driver couldn't read the satnav and had no credit to call me’ Given I live in the centre of Hereford on an old estate it's very hard to get lost.

Absolutely terrible. Inedible "free" prawn crackers that had yellowed as tho it had been standing around for days. Sauces that were are thick goopy and and clagy. Dry, rice that would be perfect for a recipe that needed left over day old rice. The food was cold, and we were missing part of the order! In fairness the restaurant did after some shouting internally agree they did forget to include our chips. So they happily "cooked more" and would send them straight away. 35 mins later we got our cold chips. Thanks but no thanks. No remorse or apologies, nor an offer of a partial refund. I cannot stress how poor the quality of the food actually is. As for the service, well the less said the better!

Food was lovely egg fried rice was perfect as was the chop suey. Prawn crackers were really nice. Well done

You don't go to a takeaway for the atmosphere. 😀 You go to a takeaway for the food and 2J's food is superb. There are very few places in the area that we've been repeat customers for and 2J is one that is a 'Top 2 choice' for our takeaway evenings. Do take cash, you get an extra 10% off.

Take aways have been delicious on more than one occasion. Had a variety of dishes - honey lemon chicken, chilli beef, rice, chips, gourmet starters. Our favourite Chinese in Hereford.

Plain chow mein dry and tasteless. Pancake roll hd no beansprouts, meat, prawn or anything...just plain cabbage! Would not buy again.

Not sure if this place is under new ownership but ordered food for 7 of us and they forgot the most important part of the meal. The sauce. They did offer to bring me sauce but I live 6 miles away. I would had to microwave the meal which I shouldn't have to do. Also the Chicken balls were a little overcooked because they were dry. If this is under new management then I will be thinking twice about returning here.

Order placed for a pick up 20 minutes later, paid and confirmed, arrived to collect as it said cooked. Not cooked and had no knowledge of order, agreed to cook once I showed payment and I said they can deliver. Arrived about 1/2 hour later all items there, portion size was good and foot hot but would not recommend as a good experience. 2j but won’t give a 2nd chance.

If it had a 0 it would be that! I asked for little veg and had loads! Ask for no green peppers and was filled with them! If I would have eaten would be dead ! Veg look old and brown . My daughter eat the chicken well tried it was soft not right as all! Came nearly a hour late : all was leaking in to bag ! Disgusting!

When I ordered it took about 1 hour. When it arrived it was cold and rock hard. I won’t order again from this takeaway.

Chicken chow mein was hot and delicious so we're the sweet n sour chicken balls ..both piping hot n delivered very quickly.. excellent telephone manner by the man taking orders too..thanks guys

We moved to Hereford area in November having lived abroad for 6.5 years. Very excited to get a good cineses we have searched high and low for a good take away, been to Credenhill and others been very disappointed with all of them feeling we wasted our money.. tonight we decided to try 2J it was simply awesome :) THE BEST CHINESE in Hereford!!!! We had sweet and sour chicken balls and Hong Kong style, BBQ ribs, pork rice, pork chow mein, egg fried rice and plain noodles oh and chips.. all good.. If I had one complaint it would be that the ribs were a Bit dry and chewy.. but the sauce was good. We will be getting it again :) Super happy to have found 2J :)

We stumbled upon this Chinese while googling takeaway Chinese places. Well, what a discovery. Behind the yellow fronted shop you see some wonky hand written signs on a drinks counter and an oddment of chairs for waiting area. You don't expect much but then you get the food home and wow. Genuinely the best Chinese we've had in years. Well worth the risk and quite frankly my new favourite place. The food was tasty without completely dehydrating you. Would very much recommend.

2J's is simply the best Chinese Takeaway in Hereford. Every time we order - our food arrives well within the hour, sometimes as quickly as 25 minutes, and we live a 10-15 minute drive from the takeaway! Food is always piping hot, portions are generous. They always acknowledge any special requests like removing an ingredient or a little extra sauce. The delivery drivers are always super friendly and a pleasure to talk to while handing over your order. The main reason we always go back to 2Js is because after a few years living in Hereford we were always disappointed with the quality of other Chinese takeaways and when we finally discovered them for ourselves we were so happy to be choosing Chinese on takeaway night again! 2J's menu is made with, in my opinion, higher quality ingredients and better recipes - you never feel like you've ordered 'generic slop' like you do with many Takeaways all around the country. If you want that really watery, tasteless, disappointing Chinese meal, order anywhere but here. Well done 2Js we will continue to enjoy your fantastic food for many years to come

We've had a few takeaways and recently delivery from 2J with no problems. Tonight our food was lovely and hot when arrived. Service by the gentleman over the phone was great. Always caters for my partner who is celiac, the meat in the special fried rice melted in the mouth. Great service again guys and thanks from 3 tired and greatful key workers.

I rang up to place an order, for delivery, much later than I normally do, only to speak to someone who sounded annoyed by my order.After placing the order I realised that she hadn't taken my card details, so rang back to give them my card details.. she was even more arrogant. The food was lovely, but when you receive that sort of response, it makes me want to order, elsewhere, where they will appreciate any trade in the current circumstances.

Home delivery via taxi from 2J. Unfortunately this is the 2nd time that I have had a severe upset stomach after eating the 2J Chicken curry. The chgips were also horrible and i binned them. I have now repoorted this to Hereford health and safety as I am becoming very concerned about the low quality of the food from 2J. My last upset stomach lasted for 3 days and was extremely painful and unpleasant. I would recommend that you keep away from their chicken dishes.

My favourite Chinese takeaway, second-best is now Wing Sing. No others in Hereford come close to these two.

I've been looking for a good Chinese takeaway in Hereford for a while, even driving to Credenhills highly reviewed restaurant only to be disappointed. The food from here was lovely, BBQ ribs meaty and succulent, beef in black bean tender, proper chicken chow main with the rice noodles with fresh vegetables and perfect egg fried rice. We ordered chips that I never order and sweet and sour chicken balls. They were done perfectly, evidently, the oil is kept nice and clean. We ordered just after 5 pm the phone line was very busy so just keep calling until you get through. Only thing I wouldn't order again is the crispy chilli beef, it's just not my thing found it lacking chilli. Will 100% be ordering again. No idea how to insert image but will do so on other platforms.

I have used several Chinese Take-Aways in Hereford, but have only recently found this one. It is very different, the staff are friendly, the service is fast, considering that the food is freshly cooked. Unlike may Chinese Take-Aways there is much less of a 'gooy' texture that feels synthetic, instead that food just tastes fresh. It really is nice food and I will be going to this place regularly!

So I am walking through the town at around 9pm and I see this Chinese and think wow that looks great and I walked in and was greeted by a young Indian lad and he was great he gave me the best service I've had and I was looking forward to my chicken fried rice I get home open it and after the first bite I regret it instantly it was the blandest food I've tasted in my life no flavour in the rice or chicken I was shook I would've given a 1 star if it wasn't for that lad at the counter I think midhun was his name he should get a raise

Ordered a Chinese from here tonight told be within an hour rang up once it been over an hour to be told it would be five more minutes, 25 mins later the bloke turns up, as I was on the phone for the second Time, was told I could have £6 off my meal felt the meal in the bag and it was stone cold, so refused to take it, was then told on the phone it’s okay you can have £6 off if you take the food, I wasn’t going to spend over £20 for cold food, won’t be using them again!!!

The only place I ever order Chinese from in Hereford. Absolutely lovely and wonderfully polite staff, always. Food has never been wrong, cold or undesirable and portions are always generous and well worth it for a very reasonable price. Have been using them regularly for years and They've always delivered on quality and even on busier days, they make every effort to get food to you as quickly as possible - even right up to closing time.

Just had delivery of stale food.Chips look and taste as if they are days old,freezing cold along with everything else!! Complained and was given an apology by a very polite lady and chef wanted to re cook everything so was rectified.

Disgusting. The chicken and pineapple was watery and chicken was half cooked and pineapple was tinned and wasnt in a nice sauce wad in cole pineapple juice. The beef curry was alright tasted better the curry sauce was wattery though. The chicken balls were half cooked, they were cooked on the outside but not in the middle they were all soggy. The bbq sauce was too red and had a tangy taste to it but the chips were nice!... if it wasnt look warm it was cold😑 DEFINITELY WONT BE GOING HERE AGAIN!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! quite pricey considering there food is RUBBISH! now feeling sick and got stomach ache within 20 mins of eating this slop! SUMMER PALACE is the best ive tried up to now! This has got to be the worst chinese i have tasted even worse than the mermaid😑 how they still have buisness is beyond me!

Nice food shame about hygiene rating

This establishment has, on more than one occasion, delivered an incorrect order to us. Not only bringing incorrect dishes, but also neglecting to bring ordered dishes at all! The service from the delivery drivers is somewhat questionable also, you would think that they were dropping off cocaine not chicken balls. Not to mention that trying to contact them is nothing short of impossible, shocking service that has yet to be rectified. I'll keep you updated on the delivery status of my missing dishes, long story short fifty pounds of disappointment and social frustrations.
