The dishes were all ready, but the soup base was not served for a long time, and the waiter was not in a good mood. The mushroom soup base of the three-piece soup base was not cooked until the meat was cooked. When I asked a short-haired girl in the middle of the meal, she told me that it was not cooked. Is she really lying with open eyes? We spent 70 yuan per person, so it’s not like we didn’t spend money. If you can’t do this job as a waiter, you should quit as soon as possible. Short-haired girl

Fran Fernandez . 2025-05-08

MORE AT Google

SCAM, just the food, they make you pay halfway through the meal, they vacuum when you're eating, they leave the door open to let in the cold air from the street. When the bill arrives, they charge you for tips that they put in the letter in small print. Very expensive, not worth it. On top of that, they come to the table and touch your food without asking your permission.

Worst service. I went right at the opening time, but I couldn't order noodles, and when I was almost finished eating, they told me I could order noodles only then, which was the height of unfriendliness. Also, the chef who wore a dirty apron and smoked in front of the store was the worst. In particular, the female employee with glasses who treated all the customers rudely really needs to receive proper training. There would be absolutely no reason for people to go to this restaurant where the portions are small, the prices are high, and the service is terrible. The ratings are high, but it seems like they are managing the ratings.

We arrived an hour and a half before they closed. I completely understand that you want to finish work on time, and accordingly I can understand that they told us we only had about an hour to eat when we had ordered. However, the woman who served us was totally rude. She was annoyed that we didn't order straight away because we had to look at the menu. We had to pay straight away before the food and drinks arrived, and we also had to pay the service charge. I can understand the service charge in general, but not for service like that! Unfortunately, we didn't have a good experience. However, the food was fresh and delicious!

This was our first time trying hot pot, and it was definitely a new and unusual experience! The waiters were a little brisk when taking our orders, but the food came and it was really good. The beef broth was SUPER spicy, and the tomato broth was a little milder. We got the big vegetable platter and coriander pork balls and noodles. Tip- definitely get a sauce. You pay a little extra, and they have a sauce bar in the back where you can mix your own sauces and they are really really good.

At first when I entered the restaurant, they listed the meat buffet at 20 pounds for 1 person. Although the food was not too bad, I thought 20 pounds was reasonable. But when I paid, the total was 160 pounds and I needed them to explain, the staff just looked elsewhere, smiled and sighed. She said no minimum expense but only 20pounds can be used in a single time. After we had our meal and checked out, I was asking for the voucher. I went to Chinatown intending to have some hotpot, so I chose Shu Xiang Ge. After the dishes started coming out, I first took a bite of the fried rice. When I was about to scoop up a second bite with my spoon, I found a short hair in the rice, and it was even slightly curled. As soon as I discovered the first hair, I immediately told the server. Their response was quite quick—they took my bowl of fried rice away as soon as they heard about the hair, so I didn’t even have time to take a photo as evidence. Then came the second hair, which was even worse. It came out of the hotpot broth—a long strand of female hair, all tangled up. The server came and replaced the broth, and they also replenished the ingredients that had already been put into the pot. The two hairs were found within five minutes of each other, and by that point, I had already lost most of my appetite. However, since the staff’s attitude was acceptable, I decided to continue eating. But even so, the server never came to refill the soup for the rest of the meal. Also, the beef slices I ordered this afternoon were falling apart into small pieces once cooked. I have no idea what kind of meat they were using, and I didn’t dare ask. The overall experience was terrible. I’ve been there twice before, and my impressions were pretty good both times. This time, though, it was a complete disappointment.

You read that right, it’s 1 pound! 🥘We ordered the mandarin duck pot for the bottom of the pot. I heard that the spicy pot is freshly fried with home-made fried butter. The aroma is so delicious that it will increase your appetite. 🥩Every time I come to Shuxiangge, I order double pepper beef slices and fresh-cut mutton. The meat is so tender and can be eaten in just a few seconds. The aroma is fragrant. I also order a Jiugongge platter, which has nine kinds of cuisines. , if you don’t know what to eat, I suggest you order this~ 🍘I really like their pork buns with mushroom sauce, they have a soft and chewy texture. I never thought that the buns from a hot pot restaurant can be so delicious! 🧃Drinks ordered milkshake and lemon passion fruit 🍋Refreshing, delicious and good at relieving the spiciness ➡️Shu Xiangge Chinatown: 10 Gerrard St, London W1D 5PW

I recently discovered a treasure hot pot restaurant, I really love it! In the cold winter, the most healing thing is a steaming hot pot. The base of the Yuanyang Hotpot is rich in flavor, and the aroma of the spicy hotpot is particularly refreshing, making you feel happy after eating it. Their double pepper beef slices are simply amazing, so tender that you can’t stop eating them! In addition, you must try the pork buns with mushroom sauce. They are soft and chewy, and it feels like the buns have been sublimated. For drinks, I ordered tangerine peel lemon tea, which is just right to relieve greasiness and refreshing, perfect with hot pot! The whole environment is very comfortable, especially suitable for gatherings of friends or small families. Highly recommended!

Shuxiangge is my go-to for authentic Sichuan hotpot in London, especially in winter! Their upgraded menu is a steal—£50 for two, £100 for four. The beef tallow broth is rich, and the bone soup is so comforting. Favorites? Fresh lamb slices, red sugar glutinous rice cakes, and spicy tripe. Plus, the new DIY condiment station is super handy. All this for just £30 per person—don’t miss it!

The bottom of the pot is very fragrant, and the special thing is that there is taro, which goes well with the tomato pot 👍

It was horrible. The worst and most disgusting Chinese food we've ever had... we ordered vegetable curry and duck, and unfortunately, it wasn't tasty at all. On top of that, my husband was in the restroom, and they asked me in a momentary silence that they wanted to give the table to new guests. We couldn't even order a drink or dessert. At the table next to us, the waitress simply threw the leftovers under the table, along with the cigarettes.

Their Irish roast duck definitely lives up to their reputation 😋👍👍👍, the duck fat n skin is an experience to try even if you think you had the best roast duck elsewhere in the world. Their roast pork and charsiew are not bad. Just order half a duck if you are eating alone, it's totally worth the calories 👍

I'm sorry I have to give this a one star because the staff (most of them are waitresses) are rude and unfriendly, especially the non-Chinese cashier. Food quality was fine, typically HK style, really no complaint for £8. I'm sure this place doesn't care for the bad reviews since the tourists do not have many choices.

Oh my - how this restaurant has changed! I’ve been going here for 20yrs. Not so much the last couple yrs No wine, decorations and cooking a pale shadow of what it used to be. Sadly I probably won’t return.

We visited Royal China after seeing generally good reviews online, but our experience was shockingly poor. First of all, the service was painfully slow — it took 25 minutes just to get two dim sum dishes, and this was on a Monday afternoon when the restaurant was far from busy. There's simply no excuse for such delays with so few tables to serve. To make matters worse, they had the audacity to add a discretionary service charge on top, despite the clearly subpar service. For a restaurant that positions itself as premium, the overall experience felt like a complete rip-off. Unfortunately, we left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and frankly, ripped off. Would not recommend — there are far better dim sum options in London with better food, service, and value for money.
