Got food poisoning couple hours after eating

Visited recently; the food was enjoyable, but the experience felt rushed due to the staff in the small shop.

Absolutely horrible, food closer to a school canteen than an all-you-can-eat restaurant, horrible owners and waitresses who remind us of the army, for 2 people £36 and not even desserts, with only 10-11 foods allowed which choose to eat! A shame

Quite tasty and cheap, you can put it on and eat it to go for £8, tasty pasta and seasoned meat, I recommend it. The downside is paying in cash

Went on Christmas day. Price was very steep, £11 per container to takeaway and it was cash only. There was a nice lady who advised it wasn’t halal so I got items suitable for vegetarians. I’ve been once previously and the noodles were so good but unfortunately the food wasn’t great this time round.

Go your way, the dishes are not good. Some are cold, there is no choice, it is not worthy of a buffet, especially at this price I will find you better in the neighborhood!!

It's not good utensils used for multiple foods if you have a allergy you're in trouble all the food tastes like it has been cooked in a tub of salt my watch nearly blew up my blood pressure went up so high from the salt content I wouldn't come back

(12/2023) Terrible service, they only charge cash and if you don't have anything they tell you to wait outside until you get out of the ATM because they charge you as soon as you arrive. Edit: (12/2024) After a year they improved considerably, good quality of food, but you have to wait a while to be served at the bar.

Avoid. Food too salty and just not tasty. Hygiene level questionable. Cash only. I do advise you to take your money somewhere else.

The food is very good and the price of £15 for the buffet is good. It should be noted that the places next door give you a single dish for £15, here you can repeat as many times as you want. There is no heating, cool room temperature.

It's a trap for guiris. The service is quite terrible, they are very insistent… for a buffet, the name is not appropriate since there were literally 4 dishes. The truth is that I read the comments and I am surprised by all the complaints there are. I don't know what you expect to find in a place like this. The food can be seen from the street and you can help yourself as many times as you want. We wanted to try the experience of one of these buffets, there will be better ones, surely and there will surely be worse ones. The place was Petao and the food was delicious for the price you pay and if you order tap water you don't even spend money on drinking. You can only pay in cash, yes. The place is small and they put you where they want, I saw some people at the door who were getting cold from the people coming in. In short, I would eat there again, yes, although I would most likely go to another one to try another one.

When we arrived at this restaurant, we had the impression of being in the army. The boss is super cold. The food is really not great for the price, plus you have to pay in cash so nothing is declared. We had a stomach ache the same evening, probably due to the not fresh produce. TO RUN AWAY!!!!

Food was okishh. The main course was below par. The shop is run by some rude staff. One elderly staff member was always around and asking us whether we were done or not, which was a bit annoying. She was asking us to put the food waste in tray. I felt it was ok but was kind of somebody watching us while we ate. It's not definitely worth the 15 pounds paid per person.

Delicious food, especially pork. I expected much lower quality from the buffet, but everything was fresh and good. You pay once and eat as much as you want, I recommend it. You can order free tap water to drink. Payment only in cash.

Chinese restaurant, tastes delicious and you can eat as much as you want, the main thing is that there is nothing left on your plate except bones 😁 I was even able to pay in euros, the main thing was cash. 20 € per person, in bar for food and drink cola or water No credit card

Food was lovely just wish they had a bigger premises as it was rather cramped. Having to get to the buffet whilst passing queuing guests to the restaurant wasn’t ideal. Staff did seem abit rude but I think this was due to being ridiculously busy, not enough staff members so I shall let them off. The owner came round to tell us to put our bags under our table rather then back of chair due to thrives in the area - there are signs all around china town warning you about this. Overall I would go again

Expect very little customer service, but very good bakery. Cash only establishment and grumpy staff but highly recommend the red bean puffs, dough sticks and egg tarts.

Came here for the buffet and really enjoyed it!!! For only £15 it’s absolutely great! The cookies in particular are great and so is the sweet and sour chicken.

Chinese buffets are an institution in the UK. If you fancy cheap and cheerful then this is the place to go. Kowloon will provide excessive amounts of all the classic Chinese takeaway dishes. The whole point of buffets are you eat too much food… you have a bit of a sore stomach afterwards from too much greasy food… and wash it down with a beer. Overall Kowloon is good value for what you get. The staff were friendly, and recently refurbished clean toilets. As an aside, definitely recommend a visit to the bakery next door as lots of interesting treats.

For a cheap TAKEOUT option this is fab. £8 - you fill a typical Chinese takeout size plastic tub with anything from the ‘all you can eat Buffett’. Small-ish selection compared to the large resturant buffets, but for a take out it’s great. We then walked 3 minutes to Leister Square & ate in the park - much calmer… However - for £15 you can sit inside the resturant & have ‘as much as you can eat’… I overheard heard many complaints at the buffet; - from the seating space to attitude of staff to how limited the small buffet was… But as I said above - we did takeout & it was a tasty cheap option. Would do this again. Cash only… No wheelchair access.

No customer service, the woman serving was rude and didn't want to explain what was in the pastry, and the woman at the till told me to 'hurry up already' when I was collecting my change despite me having patiently waited for her to change up the money. The food was thrown into 1 bag so it was squashed and it was delicate pastry. Wouldn't go back. The food was overly oily and nothing special.

I visited that place yesterday and it was terrible. The service was awful, the staff were rude, and they didn't even provide toilet paper without being asked. On top of that, the food was tasteless and overpriced. I strongly do not recommend this place at all.

Pushy staff ,cramped seating ,restaurant isn't clean by restaurant standards ,I myself my 13 Yr old daughter and 10 year old grandchild ate ,my wife chose not to ,all three of us who ate ,were violently sick the following day ,the staff are rude and very abrupt ,pushing you to pay ,you pay before you eat ,so any complaints would not gain you anything ,,in a nut shell ,just avoid the place.

Our experience there was highly disappointing. Dont visit this restarurnat. For £15, I found the food to be lacking in both taste and quality. The staff were rude and unapproachable, which further marred the dining experience. I genuinely believe this restaurant does not meet acceptable standards, and I would rate it a 0 if possible. I have already contacted the council regarding this matter, as I feel this establishment should be reviewed thoroughly. I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant, as it is not worth the expense or the poor service.

I don't get why this place is getting such hate, but I came here just by chance and my family and I loved it. It's true that they have little options to eat, but it's great.

Both the treatment and the place are to be forgotten. Bad manners, they yelled at those next door for asking for a table of four to sit with their children and there was plenty. Shabby space, poor hygiene and low quality food, not to mention the waitress who ate in front of us and when finished cleaned her teeth right there.

I went there today on the 20-08-24. I have metal in my food 2 pieces of metal been found in my food. Told the later and she was telling me some next lie it's the other company that does the food and all sort of lie I ask for a refund and she told me I have to leave. Got the refund wouldn't even let me finish my food I want put a complaint about that what's the best way to get these Restaurant to closed down so it doesn't happen to other people imagine a kid would eat that metal. Need help to get this sorted And ready to get the best lawyer to resolved this as I've been basically got kick out for having metal found in my food 🙃

I thought this was only a pastry shop...then when entering, I was intrigued to see food being served I only wanted pastries, and a cup of tea to take away, everything absolutely fine I will return to try the hot Chinese meals. For value for money, convenience and tastiness I'd give them 5 stars. Absolutely one of my favourite places to eat in London. The meals were nice and hot, seriously delicious and very good value. I'm always looking forward to the next visit. An authentic Asian dining experience. The staff are great.

No frills, freshly cooked, wide range of dishes. Yes, it’s more a cafe than a restaurant. But at £15 a head, it’s decent, good value food. And they don’t rip you off for drinks. If you want fancy dining then go elsewhere. It’s a winner for me.

If I could rate this restaurant a 0 I would. We only wanted to see what food was available as it wasn't clear in the window. We were then peer pressured to sit and pay cash only immediately. As soon as we paid they stopped hounding us and didn't even give us glasses for our drinks. The establishment was grubby patchy paint work with spots of mould on the ceiling and walls. Why we didn't run out I have not a clue. Service was horrendous, with the place being cleaned down with bleach as if it was a crime scene. We were served with a woman with bleach soaked rubber gloves. Value for money was awful there was about 5 dishes to choose from and if you wasted any food you'd be charged extra. (Luckily we didn't eat much because I was scared of food poisoning). Your possessions were also likely to be stolen and the establishment would not support you if you were robbed in their restaurant. On the plus side a great story to laugh about that we went to the worst restaurant in China Town

Food was delicious. The waitress was very pushy and wanted us to order as soon as we sat down. Then proceeded to watch us continuously as we tried to enjoy our food. We felt rushed which is why i am leaving an overall 3 stars. However i recommend the food as it was amazing. I would return for the food. The front of house lady was very nice.

I felt uncomfortable eating here, staff staring at you that feels like you have to finish your food fast. I mean there’s a lot of free tables! I would eat fast if I see it’s crowded but it’s clearly not. She was also picking fights with other customers. Food was great though just don’t like the customer service

Plenty of choice in China Town BUT this is our go to place Staff friendly and attentive. The food tasty, fresh and hot not greasy and soggy. They did not charge for my 12 year old son as was not eating they even gave him 2 fortune cookies. They don't screw you with the drinks prices either all round a good experience as always. 😁👍

The food is fine with the cakes and buns with the coconut and sweet sugar bun however staff seem deceptively friendly at first, but as time goes on, the staff reveal their true nature being extemely rude and blunt in treating customers and it seems generally towards a lot of people who just go inside, I dont know their old ways etiquette if you expect super fast payment or whatever, but in the old world style to rush customers to quickly pay even when no one is inside, its just very rude. I felt quite offended on rushing customers out leaving bitter feeling on what was said generally in cantonese. I wont be going back anytime soon here. Avoid!

If I could rate this restaurant 1* I would, but my friend said maybe it was too hursh, and I was feeling off of my emotions, so out of respect to him, I gave it 2*... begrudgingly. This restaurant had very very limited options, and had hardly any options for vegetarian(no vegan options). The main issue was everything felt so micromanage, they only accepted cash, and they was all about money straight away before you was given a plate. you had only one plate whoch they gave you. They had extremely limited food in general, and no chilli oil. They literally had ONE rice, ONE chow main, and all some other bits an bobs. They also would charge you for food wastage which is insane to me, the whole atmosphere just felt strict parenting feeding their children, everyone must speak low, while the adults was talking amongst themselves. DON'T waste your money on poor quality food, and minimum options. Such a waste of money, definitely wasn't worth £15 per head. The only decent thing was that they were 4* hygiene rating.

The worst eat all you can restaurant I’ve ever been. Even a 5 year old was being charged same as adult: we were 14 adults plus the child who is my niece. The way the Curley women with short hair spoke to us was rude. No customer care at all. When I approached the other lady to ask how much is the payment, she said half price the. The other curly lady came and said they have to pay the same but the other lady did not agree and they were arguing I. Front of us. At the end the kind lady won and we were given half the price for child. My eldest daughter could not stand the attitude of the two ladies so she left the restaurrant and just eat in a Thai restaurant. The food was full of oil and salty. The worst they only accept cash? Why cash? Are they trying to avoid the tax? Hope the local government of London have a look on this kind of business. Will not go back there again. Never again!

This restaurant offers take out at £8 per plastic container. You could pick whatever dish you like, and as long as it can fit into the plastic container, then pay £8. If dine in, eat whatever u like and pay £12

Cheap buffet with little food, compared to others in the same area, the very aggressive waitress who makes you sit down quickly and charges you instantly, we went in February when it was not nearly full and everything was quite shabby. I wouldn't go again. The only good thing I can find is that they don't force you to order a drink like in other places.

Been here today with my husband and my friend, we wanted to tried the buffet. Service was poor and they only take cash. You need to pay first before going to the buffet. You only get 1 plate and when you finished your food in that plate you will have to use the same plate again. The lady that guides us was very rude. Customer service was a myth. The old waitress was barking at everyone and I saw her have arguments with two different customers. I'd almost recommend going just to see it and believe. How the hell is this place still going. The restaurant itself looks like it was built using junk from next doors skip.

What a disappointing place, to start off they asked for the money before we even started. There was tape holding the wall together behind where I was sat which was slightly concerning. The food was awful would never recommend this place at all.

Extremely dry Chinese and the fried donut churretoso. I kept it in my backpack because if I ate that I was going to end up with indigestion and the next morning I almost found the backpack swimming in my room with all the fat it had released. I don't know whether to sue for the poor quality and service of the establishment, or take advantage of all this disaster to renew the oil in my car.

Its a good flavourful, no frills buffet. Perfect for eating before theatre trips. Nothing fancy but that reflects in price. Cash only! Pay when seated. Leave when stuffed! Still good, try and avoid 12-2 as busy time so you queue to fill your plate!

I should have seen the warning signs and ran! Smell of bleach, cleaning gloves under the arm of the woman giving drinks and being hounded for our money and drinks order before we’d even unzipped our coats and sat down. Truly horrendous customer service - hounded at the start for money and then left alone. Some customers guided to a seat next to us and they decided they didn’t want to commit so left. The server then complained to us about the fact that those customers left. Seriously? I’m here to (try to) enjoy a meal, not comfort your work woes. We ordered our drinks and had to pay up straight away before being given our plates for the attempt at a buffet they were serving. Roughly 12 different options to try. ‘We reserve the right to charge for food wastage.’ What a way to get extra money from all the customers who couldn’t clear their plate as it all tasted the same - rubbish! No receipt given for purchase, no card payment, no service with a smile. We should have left at the start like the others did … will not return!

This Chinese restaurant has a fantastic priced buffet which is piping hot. They seat you quickly, take payment and get you plates so you can get your food quickly. The food is hot and tasty. Huge variety and they replenish the dishes when they are running low.

Kowloon has disappointed me a little on my last visit. We got take out boxes, which later we found out to be more than just a couple of doors up. The food is good if you have kids who don’t want dim sum or anything that is more traditional Chinese food, this is very much UK Chinese food. Staff were a little blunt but the food was tasty for what we got. Would not rush back but would go again if I needed a quick filling meal.

Et faut payer tout de suite). On va se servir au buffet: les « nems » les Samoussas sans goût et sans garnitures. Pour le dessert on nous dit que c’est avec un supplément, Bref: nul et aucun intérêt.
