Really tasty food, especially the duck. We have been here 3 times now and the food has always been great. The interior design is old and really needs doing but if you can look past the interior you won’t be disappointed

Sorry that I have to give 2 stars. Food was decent and price was reasonable given it's Chinatown in London. Staff was generally friendly too. The guy with glasses at the counter and the young waiter are friendly and helpful. But what made me give 2 stars was because I felt like I was constantly being pressured to finish my food quickly so others can take my seat. I ordered the triple meat rice plus a big bowl of soup and I was only halfway through eating when the manager asked me if I am done eating. Obviously I am not, half of the plate is still full and it was barely 20 mins since the food came. Another 15 minutes, I was about to finish my food and the same manager asked again if I am still eating. I felt so pressurized I gobled up the last pieces of food until I felt so bloated. Then the staff were so quick to clear my plate and hand me the cheque, obviously just wanting to chase me out so they can get more customers in. To be clear, there were other diners seated before me and did not seem to experience the treatment from the staff. I checked and I dined for a total of 40 minutes which is reasonable. Maybe it is because I was eating alone, but I was sitting at a small table by myself. I even checked that there were empty tables in the basement so I don't understand this behavior at all. Seems like they value customer turnover and profit more than the comfort of their customers. Not to mention this was a birthday dinner I treated myself too but felt like I was eating on a timebomb. Will not be coming back here

I recently dined at Four Seasons on Wardour Street in London’s Chinatown and had a disappointing experience. The food arrived almost immediately, which was surprising. The pork dish was cold upon arrival; after notifying the staff, they reheated it and returned it to our table. The ribs were so tough that they were nearly impossible to eat. As one of the few non-Asian customers, we were given cutlery without being asked, while the other tables, occupied by Asian patrons, were provided with chopsticks. This disparity felt odd, as it seemed that only Asian customers were automatically given chopsticks. Additionally, the waitstaff were snacking near our table and noisily smashing plates as they organized them at their station. We requested the bill and asked to have our remaining food packed to take away, intending to finish our wine. However, just two minutes after we paid, the waiters stood nearby, staring at us, and then the manager, Ivan, approached to ask us to leave because there was a queue waiting outside. Overall, the combination of subpar food quality, inattentive service, and the unwelcoming atmosphere left much to be desired.

Jan 2024 review. The food wasn’t bad, but nothing really stood out either. The duck, which I was really looking forward to, ended up being a bit dry, which was disappointing. The seating arrangement is also pretty tight, so it felt a little cramped, especially during busier times. I wouldn’t rush back, but it might be worth a try if you’re in the area and curious.

3.5/5 Service and atmosphere here is as expected for Chinatown. We had one server who was very friendly and making jokes but for the most part, the waiters are typical of the area; efficient but not so friendly. We queued for about 25 minutes. The food was a little hit and miss - the roast meats were perfectly cooked. The duck was juicy and fatty. Char siu was one of the best I’ve had in a while and pork belly also great. However, the dried beef ho fun and the dumplings were disappointing. The noodles weren’t the classic wide flat noodles typically used in restaurants and the dish was underseasoned (the colour was off). The dumplings as well were soggy and not crispy as expected for potstickers. Flavour was nice though. Would definitely still come back for the roast meats despite this.

I have been here many times and I used to like this place but today I had the worst experience, especially in terms of quality of the food. The noodle soup was full of sticky noodles(too many and merged in a single ball) and no flavour at all! Same for the duck and the noodles, we had to use some soy sauce for made them eatable. And be aware to order something fried that it is almost impossible to digest.

While the food was decent, the service was absolutely appalling. From the moment we arrived, the short haired middle aged waitress displayed a rude and dismissive demeanor. Rather than taking our orders at the table, she stood at the till, expecting us to shout our requests across the restaurant. When our drinks finally arrived, she slammed them onto the table, treating us as if we were an inconvenience. The worst part was when I asked for cutlery after dropping my chopsticks. She didn’t know I had dropped them and laughed mockingly because I hadn’t accepted a fork earlier when she offered it to my friend and me. Her reaction was humiliating and completely unprofessional. Her attitude made it impossible to enjoy our meal, and I left feeling unwelcome and frustrated. I can’t understand how a restaurant can employ someone who clearly lacks basic customer service skills. Just came here because we were in a hurry and must restaurants had long queues. First impressions were not the best, we were sat in the basement. But that doesn’t matter if the food is really good. We then proceeded to order and found that the menu only had a limited amount of dishes, many of which are heavily westernised. Although the chef’s recommended menu looked promising. 手撕包菜 was good and authentic, and 铁板牛柳 was good as well. However, 麻婆豆腐 was not flavoured and far from authentic with no spice, and 北京烤鸭 tasted like it was a frozen one which you can buy in Chinese supermarkets, with bad meat texture, but we paid £20 for a half duck! Ridiculous! This place is also very overpriced, for example, charging £3.50 for a bowl of rice alone, excluding service charge. There are definitely many better restaurants in Chinatown serving better food and more reasonable prices. We paid £35 per person in the end 😭

We went there on a Sunday to dine in, and from the moment we arrived, it was a disaster. The guy at the door, who is supposedly the manager, was shockingly rude and mean. He told us, if we wanted to eat outside, we’d have to pay first—which is fine, but we hadn't even decided what to order yet. When we asked to sit inside because we might want to order more, he glared at us and, in the most condescending and hostile tone imaginable, told us to either pay and sit outside or stand around for 20–30 minutes. The place was practically empty, yet he still made us wait! To make things even worse, while we waited, he let in people who arrived after us, for absolutely no reason other than to make us feel unwanted. When he finally walked away, another staff member noticed us standing around and seated us immediately. Inside, almost all the tables were empty! This guy had us standing outside for absolutely nothing. It’s like he took some twisted pleasure in making us wait. Honestly, it felt like he was judging us based on how we looked and decided he didn’t want us there. The level of rudeness and unprofessionalism was shocking. I’ve never been so disappointed to be treated this way when I just wanted a meal. Unbelievable.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was terrible from the moment we walked in, with one of the waitresses displaying a rude and unprofessional attitude throughout the evening. When I asked to remove the service charge, as I felt the service did not meet any acceptable standard, I was met with hostility. One of the staff members repeatedly questioned me in an aggressive manner, asking why I wanted to cancel the service fee. I explained that there was simply no service provided, and the manager responded dismissively, stating that just bringing the food to the table counts as “service.” To make matters worse, the same rude waitress loudly pointed at me and shouted, for the entire restaurant to hear, that I had refused to pay the service fee during a previous visit. This was a blatant lie, as it was my first time dining at this establishment. I felt publicly humiliated and disrespected. This was an incredibly uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone who values good service or respect as a customer.

I have been coming to your restaurant several times a year for more than a decade. Over the last year the duck portion has become smaller and smaller. I always take half the portion home to have as dinner which is why I order half. Yesterday was an absolute joke. I had no more than 6 pieces of duck and only 2 middle parts. Although I didn’t get a photo the duck was superb as was the char Sui pork,l and chicken boodles we ordered. Everyone was full and everything cost £30 each.

Very small place with pretty good food! We ordered half a Boneless Lacquered Duck (not the Pekin), quite good, but for us a little cold. Very good flavor, with a sweet touch. To accompany the rice and egg and with both dishes, we were quite satisfied to then have some dessert in Chinatown. Priced like everything in London, quite expensive. The service was good and very friendly, but the place was quite small and narrow. There are usually queues outside!

Staff were quite nice, which is surprising for the area. Reasonably priced and decent quality: we had the below for the three of us and had lots left over for the doggy bag :) Barbecued Pork Chilli oil Pork dumplings (spicy!) Garlic duck House special fried noodles Egg fried rice

The duck is amazing and the option to remove bones just blows everything out of the water. Please use plastic containers for the duck though, these paper ones weren't made for the Four Seasons! Lamb stew with tofu aint bad either

Our visit to Four Seasons on Wardour Street revealed a very casual ambiance, with the restaurant bustling and full, particularly after 6 pm. Arriving early is advisable due to the no-reservation policy, preventing long queues. The star of the show was undeniably the duck, leaving us eager to order it separately on our next visit. While the food delivered an authentic Chinese experience, the bustling atmosphere created a sense of haste, making it challenging to enjoy a leisurely meal. Nonetheless, for those seeking tasty Chinese cuisine, Four Seasons offers a flavorful experience, especially when you plan accordingly.

Used to come here a lot in the past but was disappointed with the BBQ pork on rice. BBQ pork (char siu) was dry. Also, too much rice for BBQ meat on rice. Not as good as it used to be. I wouldn't say it's good value for money.

The food was simply delicious! There are three Four Seasons and this is one of them that we have been making repeat visits. We tried something different this time: roast dock in orange sauce, and it did not disappoint at all! The star is still the stir fry beef Hor Fun. visited: 30 Dec, 2023

Yummy food and quick service. We got the pork and duck combo dish and the sauce on top was delicious, I could have had just the sauce with rice and been happy! It's a little pricey but I think it's still worth it.

Recommended place for Cantonese dish. Had the roasted duck, char siew and siu yok(roasted pork) rice. Roasted duck is awesome and juicy, even with the breast part. Their Chinese dishes like the spicy beef is also must-try

这家文兴在China town门口,环境一般,服务还好,没有网评那么糟糕。猪肚鸡还不错,但也就是还不错,建议合理期望值。茶水2.1磅,米饭4磅,另收服务费

Been to this place based on someone’s recommendation… The first impression felt like I was getting ripped off! I ordered mixed seafood with mixed vegetables and noodles, one bottle of still water, and a can of Coke. The food was very low quality, had no taste, and ‘mixed seafood’ meant just two very small prawns and three identical scallops 🤣🤣🤣. Plus, the food was boiling hot, so you couldn’t taste anything at all! Waste of money! I went across the street and bought some delicious pork belly instead!

Hot Pot was a first for me. We tried the spicy beef tallow red oil pot, let me say that even if you choose the less spicy option, this is not for the faint of heart. Luckily the waiter warned us (not enough, but he did) and we choose a mix of this and mushroom stock. Overall, it was not bad, but found this expensive for what we ate. Maybe hot pots are not for me...

The food was oaky. Nothing exceptional. The service was very average. I informed the lady taking orders that I am ready to order but she came to our table after 5mins. She was busy taking to the waiter next to her. No apology for making us wait! I informed her that I wanted my starters first then my 2nd course (Crispy Duck) but it all came together. Before we had finished the Duck, came the main course. When I was ready to pay the Bill, the I asked the lady for some wipes. I should not have to ask for it, it should have not had to ask for it, it should have come with the bill. When it came to pay the bill, the lady gave me the card machine and asked me if I wanted to tip. I informed her that the bill already had the 13.5% service charge on it. Her response was "But its more money". The audacity of the staff! This really was the last straw. I am afraid I will never go there again. I had been there a few times. I think they taught I was a tourist in London!
