Lots of noise. Very poor soundproofing. Impossible to talk in the large dining room with the person in front of you. Tacky decoration. Very good service. Correct food, I expected much more.

Honestly I come here for the duck, thats not to say the rest of the menu isn’t great, but I don’t care, I live for their crispy duck, with those lovely little pancakes and cucumbers + sauce, this is a taste of heaven. Highly recommend if you’re into duck, get the full duck trust me. Anyways, ill stop talking about the duck now, other then that the place is nice and good service.

There are days you just have to do dim sum! I have loved Royal China Club for many years now. The fun and welcoming team, the decor and some of the finest and different dim sum I’ve had anywhere in the world, that take me back to Hong Kong and Macau. On the outside, is a quiet and hidden exterior, like the misty visage of a har gau dumpling that conceals a delicious adventure inside. Light pours into the shiny red interior that’s decadently laid out with ponds of large banquet tables, brimming and bustling with choreographed staff and happy feasting guests. We’re warmly greeted by Peter, who welcomes me back. He’s the nicest person and seeing Carmen too, they both bring back too many good memories here. When getting the menu, I truly enjoy knowing that it will always have a page of seasonal dim sum specials, but am delighted to see so many additions throughout the menu, that I will say right now are incredible, vibrant and expertly created. First to land… the duck and black pepper pasties, which are light and buttery, are greeted with wagyu beef rolls in a spicy broth and fronds of mushrooms that give the dish a fine noodle texture. A similar familiar favourite are the sea bass rolls filled with cucumber and dressed in glass noodles. A punchy roasted chilli broth meets the fresh sea, which annunciates the whole meal of textures, colours and flavours to come. The traffic light party of steamed dumplings were stacked with a variety of orange translucent wine and lobster baubles, spicy prawn and green bean shoot style siu mai, and Shanghai soup dumplings filled with crab and pork that popped in the mouth. All too damn excellent that we couldn’t pick a favourite. A jazzy pink cheung fun with crisp tofu and mixed seafood bounced on the table like Elton John at the piano, whilst we enjoyed plump ravioli-like scallop dumplings, a staircase to heaven of radish cake, and the ever favourite prawn and mango rolls that are a bit like a more funky prawn toast, where the sesame seeds give a great nutty flavour. After commenting on the BBC’s ‘Great British Menu’ and a chef contestants custard lava buns, we had to finish off with some for dessert. Dark black, decorated in gold, the hot sweet custard excitedly exited the bun. A fitting end to all the pleasurable build up! I regret it’s been too long since I’ve returned with friends, family and my partner, who visited for the very first time and shared my love. Royal China Club does really ‘touch the heart’. I’ll keep coming back for the magical dim sum and seeing the team, who are a key ingredient to what makes this restaurant so special. Thank you team!

Booked a private room to celebrate a special occasion and wanted the intimacy, which was perfect. SERVICE: Very attentive and our dedicated server, Leo was brilliant throughout the entire service. He had some good suggestions and was spot on with the quantity FOOD: It’s definitely not the cheapest but that reflects in the quality. We pre-ordered suckling pig 48 hours ahead. The dim sum starters was succulent and steaming fresh. The lobster noodle was some of the best I’ve had period (they showed us them live first), and was so fresh and juicy. The fillet steak and aubergine and ginger chicken was tender. Presentation similar to the likes of higher end establishments. Try the Sweet & Sour pork on dry ice…perfect! the best dim sum in London. Highly recommend seafood platter dimsum and iberico pork stirfry. Unfortunately the gentleman (bald guy with glasses) serving us at the start was extremely rude. As we were looking at the menu, he asked us if we went to the wrong restaurant and that the royal china restaurant is just down the road. Then as I asked for a separate bowl, he left without acknowledgement. When I asked again, he snapped and shouted I heard you. Left a stain on the great food and service from other members of staff.

We went there with a group of 7, ordered around 15 dishes. The mix dim sum platter was good, the soup dumplings were nice. Crispy duck was one of the best I’ve ever tried in London, the skin just as crispy. Other things like fried squid, scallop and asparagus, mushroom and tofu were all good. The green veggie was surprisingly impressive to me. There were also a few things I was disappointed at: the abalone fried rice, no abalone at all only the sauce tasted like… the drunken chicken was too drunk, the pork meatballs were too soft and the seabass wasn’t too special… Overall, I still like the place although with the price I would expect something slightly better for the entire quality.

The part of the restaurant we were in was not so nice, felt a little average and the service tended to be quick which made us nervous about quality. Some highlights.include the absolutely stunning Steamed Scallop Dumplings, Steamed Lobster Dumplings in rice wine and their crispy soft shell crab with vegetable Vietnamese spring rolls - all supremely delicious well-cooked and beautifully presented. Overall a fantastic experience and with most Dim Sum dishes priced between £7 - £12 it's really good value for money. Staff are overall friendly and helpful, albeit slightly chaotic during lunch time when the restaurant is very busy. The women who initially 'greeted' me was incredibility rude. Firstly, she barked at me for being at the wrong reception desk (I mistakenly walked too far into the restaurant), then when I walked back to the correct area, she just stared at me a said ‘YES?’. I explained I had a reservation and gave me her my name, party number, etc and was told I didn’t have a booking and asked if I was sure I made the reservation at the Royal China Club and not Royal China. I assured her I made it at the Club and that I originally booked it for tomorrow, but then changed it to today and she again told me I wasn’t on the booking list, and I must be mistaken. I informed her that I wasn’t the one who was mistaken. She then rudely told me that there was a free table I could have despite not having a booking. After being seated and being offered a drink by a very kind waiter, she came over approximately 5 minutes later to tell me she found my reservation and apologised. I appreciated the gesture but by then was already upset due to her terrible behaviour and felt like leaving. My friend then arrived, so we stayed and ended up having a delicious lunch. The staff (other than the one above) were very attentive and kind, and the food was very good. The only reason for the two star was because of the awful behavior of the women at the reception (she was THAT bad).

My friend pre ordered the pei pa duck and we all regretted it. It was too dry and not anywhere as good as the roast duck we normally have. The dishes are overpriced for what they are. It seems they spend too much on presentation than actual portion size or taste. The service is also not as good as their other locations. We had to try to flag the server’s attention multiple and some requests went ignored. Just go to their other branches. Also, see photo of blueberry with sweet n sour pork. The decor is very simple and the tables are very close to each other. The bar menu is good but there is a very limited choice of beer. The service is very slow especially after 7 PM due to high occupancy even on a week day evening. The menu has a good choice of vegetarian and non vegetarian food. The plates are hot and the dishes are served in metal plates which are hot and heavy so one has to be careful. Starters are served hot and are good in taste especially the mixed fried Dimsum which was a actually in form of rolls and not of typical Dimsum shape. The taste of all the main dishes we had was good especially chicken with peppercorn and spinach and chicken with red chillies and mock chicken for vegetarians. Greeted by super sulky waitress. A table of 4 pax and she lead us to the smallest table of the restaurant. I asked to change to a slightly bigger round table and luckily we got it. I thought maybe the timing of our entrant met her worst timing, hence I did change my impression to their service. Unfortunately the next one who came to take our orders had another unhappy face. Services continued to be as poor as it could be. How disappointing that they could not put up a smiling face to their same race and to their customers. Banging and clanging of ceramic cutleries like the very old outdated Chinese restaurants of the 70s… in this restaurant that claimed itself as a ‘club’ - what is the meaning behind this concept? All their female waitresses provided the worst attitudes. Young ones who apparently are students working as part time were normal. Food wise - no big deal at all. Similar tastes as the other Chinese restaurants in London. Prices are slightly more expensive than Royal China without the word ‘club!’ They told me because their dishes are more special. As a Chinese myself, I don’t taste anything unique and exceptional. I won’t recommend to come at all unless you are looking for a poor service with bad attitude.

I have been coming to Royal China Group’s restaurants since around 2008, when my cousin invited me for dinner. The baker street, the queensway, canary wharf, and both the restaurants at baker street. I remember that back in those days, there weren’t many good chinese food restaurants in London. Royal China was the restaurant I went to with my cousin and her family. I would then start bringing my friends and family there. And when another cousin came to London for university, I took them here too. It has been a restaurant that I prized to everyone not just for the amazing food, but also for the fact that it feels like family restaurants, where you would go to for generations, and people remembers your face. After graduating from a nearby Business School, as expected, I booked the Royal China Club to celebrate my graduation and to have my close friends and family dine at my favourite restaurant. Alas, there was a problem. There was a hefty minimum spend that I agreed to with the resto to have the private room where 12 of us can sit in one table, and after generously ordering food and wine that I thought my folks would love, I realised that we would struggle to meet the min spend. Eventhough I did not mind spending it, my folks are not the type to drink £500 wine or eat £££ abalone/lobster at a chinese restaurant. We just love the usual dimsum, noodles, seabass and ducks. So i asked to speak with the manager to plead that they give some leeway with the min spend as it is a meaningful day for me. They were genuinely quite heartless and upset and told me that I should have told them beforehand if I cannot meet the spend so they can put us (12 ppl) on the regular seats. I understand that the manager n the lady at the reception are just doing their job but their reception to my plead were heart breaking and it broke years and years of warmth I felt to this place. The manager gave me a leeway of £1000 out if £1500 in the end but with very very sour face n continually repeating that I don’t deserve the private room if I cannot spend the min. In the end, I managed to spend just over £1250 out £1500 for 12 of us. My guests were very happy, and sadly not I. I was terribly heart broken. My consolation was that Royal China had always hire several staffs that were always incredibly kind and courteous with their guests, including our server (and few others) for this occasion. He did not say anything about my situation but gave me a really kind smile. I am going to bed crying a little because I understood that the attitude that I received today was “just business” and perhaps due to time, Royal China is no longer a place I could call home as I am just another faceless customer with an Amex.

I am very disappointed and dissatisfied by the experience I had here. I have visiting the restaurant with my friends, with the intention to have an enjoyable meal, everything started well until we received our greens with our mains. To my shock as I began eating the Pak Choi, there was a fly on my plate that came from the veg. Instantly I was discomforted by the situation and showed the waiter, he took my plate quickly and began to explain that the fly had come after the kitchen. I am not one to complain, nor am I someone to mention a problem when dining as I hate causing commotion. I couldn’t believe the reaction I received from the staff and the manager. They were adamant that the food came after and that it’s summer which has to be the reason there was a flight on our plate, bare in mind the restaurant is fully air conditioned and cold inside so there’s no flys around. We were no longer able to eat as our appetite was ruined and the waiter laughed at us when we explained our discomfort. I would not recommend this restaurant, we were not respected and we were given horrible service!

We also got a side of this egg corn soup, which I really liked, but it did have a texture and sweet salty taste that others didn't. For mains, we got the hand pulled truffle noodles, lobster fried rice, and a full duck (the first duck on the menu). All were great, but I felt like the full sized duck was quite small for the price. All the food was good, but for the price you could find better in London. The service was good. They were very polite. Maybe a bit hard to understand and communicate to, but they were patient and tried their best! Atmosphere felt a bit outdated, but I never have high expectations when going to a good Asian restaurant. It felt like we should have worn something fancier, but everyone was in casual wear. Overall, it was a nice dinner. I probably wouldn't come again, but I wasn't disappointed by the food. The main reason I wouldn't come back is due to the price. Otherwise, great spot!

We were a family party of 11 celebrating a 50th on a Friday night end of April. The food was tasty. We had starters, aromatic crispy duck, and mains. Starters were priced at £18, so this is by no means your local. We were given a private room, which was great for us. Just wish our waitress could have been friendlier and smiled a bit more.

Came for dim sum with my family. A couple of pounds more per dish than other establishments in the area but the dim sum is definitely a level up. It's worth the price. Taking off a star because they charged us £3 for an extra dish of chilli sauce! And they tried to rush us off the table after 60 mins after they clearly told us we had 90 min when we booked. I hate being rushed in a rude way.

We had eaten here previously and all the dishes were exceptional and of course for quality there is a price. We visited this time and decided to choose our favourite Chinese dish - crispy aromatic peking duck and one dish only.It was sublime - moist full of flavour and a very generous half portion at surprisingly £32.It came with no shortage of steaming hot pancakes. The service was impeccable

Very delicious dim sum. Particularly liked the char siew puff. Taro croquettes with truffle had just a very slight truffle taste. Overall one of the best dim sums in London.

Food is actually quite good but not sure it’s that much better from royal china a few doors down to charge that much more. Wine list is overpriced and some of the waiters are rude and aggressive.

We went for an evening meal with another couple albeit it is a family friendly restaurant with private dining. A great menu for everyone’s appetite and a great range of fine wine. Fantastic food and lovely staff. Will be one of my regulars I think.

Lovely place to visit for dimsum. Good portion, good price, the restaurant interior is big and the food tastes nice. Do expect long queues up to 45 mins on a weekend.

Have been here on a number of occasions over the years but no more ! Whilst the food is of fair quality as it should at a fine dining Chinese restaurant, the service on this occasion was audacious and reprehensible ! The manageress ‘Carmen’ must be called out - she kept pestering us to pay before we’d finished the wine to which we answered that we would do so on finishing the bottle in a couple of minutes time. Then we heard her whisper under breath ‘hope you don’t come back’ and upon challenging her on this she says ‘verbatim’ ‘’You all might be dressed well but you are not nice people’’ !!!! Message to the management : You should only employ suitably trained staff that meet the requirements of a fine dining establishment and not waste the time and money of your patrons

We normally go to Phoenix palace nearby but this was a special family occasion and I have to say the food is really really good. We ordered quite a few different Dim Sum and the quality and taste is probably the best I've had. They also have a selection of Dim Sum that you won't find anywhere else. It's expensive, but worth it, in my opinion.

Top notch Cantonese fine dining! If you’ve gone to the other Royal Chinas and want to step it up a notch, Royal China Club is the answer. This is the pinnacle of the Royal China Group. The food and service are impeccable with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Prices will vary and will be akin to other fine dining options in the city. It wasn’t too busy on a Wednesday evening as we arrived without a reservation and were quickly seated. Staff were friendly and food came out at a good pace. The emperor scallops from Scotland were huge and some of the best I’ve had. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Look forward to returning and trying more dishes.

My current favourite dim sum place . The dim sum ( rarely order anything else but this chain is consistently good ( Royal China’s dim sum is good too but this is next level ) I got the Bayswater branch to cater for my wedding reception ) . I also like that you can book which makes for a more comfortable experience - but this place is not cheap so if budget is of concern I’d re direct you to the excellent but far more casual Dim Sum Duck . This place is a bit of a splurge but totally worth it .

In London for Chinese New Year. Favourite DimSum place for my family. Children, spouses & grandchildren. Beijing Duck, beef & aubergine. All I should say except Soya sauce chicken & Almond jelly. I'm a non pork eater, bad allergy. So can't say much about Pork dishes.
