Mr Chow in City of London, Westminster

The prices are exaggerated and the taste is God-honoring. However, it charges you a respectable amount per person and does not include specific dishes. The menu is different, but the taste is 2/10 I don't think about going back to it if I try branches in all regions of the world and the same thing is bad. I heard it just to change Advance reservation required Prices: very high

Very delicious food and amazing service. Enjoyed the chicken satay and the shrimp. The pasta and crispy chicken was delicious too.

Suppose to be a chinse resturant " a high end one', but the quality and taste of food was subpar. Now im hearing a spanish rock song thats the atmosphere. Service was fast food resturant service. My chair was shaken i had to change it i dont want to fall infront of all these people and we had to claimed spiral stairs and believe me its the cheapest stairs ever build. We had Chicken Satay, Lamb with Spring Onion, Noodles Vegetables, Mr Chow Noodles and shrimp rolls and honestly food was not tasty at all and lack the authenticity of chinese cuisisne, i can recommend simple Chinese resturant that can beat mrchow 0/10. Food was cold and served in cheap metal dishes. After all this conflicting vibes and untasty food and cheap atmosphere i had to pay 90 £ per perosn. Thanks

Mr.chow is overrated restaurant. It suppose to be a Chinese cuisine, but the food taste is subpar, and lacks authenticity. There was no Chinese atmosphere, music was Spanish rock or Italian rocks, also the servers were all non Chinese they were Italian and speak Italian. Regarding decoration; cheap spiral stairs, cheap round tables and shaken wooden chairs. Above all this terrible experience you paid 70 £ per person.

Decent restaurant. Excellent service, yet food was average and pricey considering small plates. Small menu in regard to Asian cuisines. Noodles are available for appetizers only; no main dish. Once to visit only, never going back .

The food was bad very bad, the lamb shank was salty and over cooked. The prawns rolls were burnt. When the waiter attempted to cut the lamb shank it was a mess, with salad flying everywhere. The overall taste was poor. However nice customer service.

The food was good, not great.. the portions were not value for money at all. Much smaller than expected. I was not happy with my experience for two reasons: 1) i called in before going for valentines day to check if they are doing a set menu or not. i was told there was no set menu but a minimum of 70£ pp. upon arrival I was surprised to find out that there was a set menu and £90 minimum pp!! My decision of going was based on no set menu and an a la carte option but that wasnt the case. It was too late to go anywhere else so we had to stay for the dinner. 2) the set menu was not the best.

The manager of the restaurant had tables which he favoured and paid more attention to! He ignored our request when we asked for things! Overall the food portion was tiny and for the amount you paid the quality was not there. It was the first and last time I would ever visit a Mr Chows.

The best was the service , food was ok . I have noticed , after I left that I was overcharged by roughly 50 pounds . They wrongly charged me to menu ( 95 each ) whereas we took two plates ´ à la carte ´ for a total +- of 70 pounds each .

I was a big fan of Mr Chow but this time I was disappointed! The duck used to be very crispy and nice but this time it was not at all! And also the rest of the food was average.

Ridiculously over priced with tiny portions. A very dated restaurant with old dirty toilets. One waitress was lovely the rest of the staff were rude. Bad atmosphere with tables almost on top of each other. I very rarely write a bad review but felt this had to be shared to limit other people having such a terrible experience!

I recently dined at this establishment with two others, spending over £300. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. The attached photo showcases what we ordered before deciding to cut our meal short and opt for a takeaway due to the tasteless and cold food. We were eating ´TASTELESS FOOD’. The service was disappointingly marked by arrogance and a very poor attitude. The overall vibe was quite negative, and despite the hefty bill, it felt like we were getting free food, and not in a positive way. This was an experience to be forgotten, and I hope improvements are made for future patrons.

So I can’t fault The Service, except a slight rush to all courses. Atmosphere and ambience are very dated …. Expect to step back to the early nighties. Also a slight preference to with clientele they would like to have

Everything was wonderful, I would love to come again and eat in, the staff, the atmosphere and the food. 1st word my wife said when she came in’warm/cosy’. I don’t recall the dishes, but overall it deserves every penny, even the ‘mango & passion fruit’ dessert + berry frost

We were 5 people, and we arrived and were welcomed. Then we sat at the table and ordered. The person taking the order said the minimum for each person was 70 pounds, and we did not want to order too much. Also, during the reservation, no one said anything about the minimum charge!!

Expected the food and the atmosphere to be better based on the hype about it. They don’t warn you about the minimum per person (£70) nor that any of the side orders you must order a minimum of 2 order per side for them to bring it to you. Expect a 15% surcharge on your overall cost

Restaurant was full of people who had more money than sense - including myself. Food was average at best. 5 people - and the bill was £1154. Mr Chow is the Chinese version of Salt Bae, in ripping people off.

Overrated. The food was average, and the staff were professional & friendly. I wanted to give two stars but did 3 stars only because of the staff.

Very poor experience, food was quite poor, everything we ordered was delivered at the same time and precooked. Table are too close one by the other, noise was high. The only positive note was the staff, very kind. Overpriced with no reasons, even by London standard.

The ambience in the upper room was neutral and not really impressive. Very good service, the team was very welcoming and careful. The food was definitely below average and inappropriately overpriced. It was a pleasant night out with friends coming over for Christmas, but I would not recommend this restaurant or go back again.

After hearing about Mr. Chow's for many years, and dining in the Los Angeles and Las Vegas locations, I was very anxious to experience the original. I was initially struck by the small size of the space. I realize this is pricey real estate, but I guess I was expecting more. The next let down was the single, inelegant laminated sheet for a menu. This seemed to be a rather cheap option seen in establishments of a much lesser pedigree. The wine list was equally disappointing in terms of options and quality, as the laminated pages were cracked and sticky. While the service was very good, the food was somewhat underwhelming in terms of flavor and presentation. In general, I was thoroughly disappointed and don’t need to come back for a second try when there are so many wonderful options for high quality Chinese food in London.

I'm satisfied with the service, but the food a bit was not as I expected:( The beef with black sauce was disappointing. Also, the chicken with fried rice was below average. I would recommend the shrimp with mayo sauce ONLY.

So i’ve been there with my father. It was a nice experience overall. My favorite dish is Ma mignon, so delicious and well cooked 👌🏻. I didn’t like the fried rice, so basic. Mr chow’s noodle doesn’t have a flavor.

You can speak without customers on both sides hearing exactly what you and your partner are talking about - Do not think of a romantic evening there - Small portions of dishes (starters, main courses, etc) - Old plates - Quality of the food is similar to street food type. - Charging high nearly 70-80 pounds per person. This is beyond my comprehension - Complete departure of service quality you would expect and even they charged 15% service charge - No QR code, the menu is printed on an old plastic card. Worst restaurant in London. Do not recommend even to try

We found hair wrapped in our chicken satay and two of our party ended up with severe food poisoning. For the price of the food, I would strongly recommend that you do not dine at this establishment. I have contacted the Mr Chow restaurant about our experience on numerous occasions and no one responded.

I am really surprised that this place still exists and is somewhat popular, given the value for money. This is a 4* Deliveroo Chinese takeaway quality restaurant but with a 1 or 2 star Michelin prices.
