We tried this restaurant which exceeded my expectations. It is so much more than it appears from the outside. Once inside, it was much larger with seating upstairs, and tables were consistently being filled. Our food came really quickly. My family ordered salt and pepper squid, sweet and sour pork, and chicken in black bean sauce with egg fried rice. Great meal, complete with complimentary fortune cookies.

Randomly picked this place and it turns out to be one of the most delicious Chinese restaurants I've eaten in. I travel extensively and eat Chinese food a lot. I was really quite pleasantly surprised at how good the food is here. It's very reasonably priced and the service is super good as well.

The service was all very poor, first time I've been treated so coldly in a London restaurant! And they don't have vegetarian options. I and my friend got a very unfriendly response when we asked if there was an vegetarian option. Very disappointing！

As a local, I have been coming here for years. I am a big fan of real chinese food and roast duck in particular. I have been to hundreds of Chinese restaurants in London, and I must say that these is definitely my favourite Chinese simple eatery. Of course, its not high end, michellin type place, but the quality of food, the taste, the quick service, that they offer for years and years, is unparalleled. The hot and sour soup is amazing, the duck - one of the best, the monk's vegetables and wooden fungus - brilliant. All at very reasonable prices. And best of all they give you a fortune cookie at the end, which is always fun.

I used to love dining at The New Fortune Cookie Restaurant, but unfortunately, my recent visits have been extremely disappointing to say the least. The service provided by the staff is poor and has significantly declined, and the quality of the food has noticeably diminished. The once vibrant atmosphere now feels dull and uninviting. Sadly, what was once a favourite spot for my family and me has turned into a restaurant we’ll most definitely be avoiding in the future.

Too much sauce on rice, so quite salty but interesting combination with chili pickle. Also theres no free fortune cookie :(

New Fortune Cookie never disappointed but this time exceeded even their high standards. Ordered beef ho fun (wet) as I wanted a change from the usual dry version. Boy was that a good choice! Crispy seafood noodles was superb. Pepa tofu was excellent, and could tell there was seafood was in the tofu to make it extra tasty. Finally ordered a recent staple of ours, aubergine hot pot. Asked them to add salty fish (as often done in HK) and this made a usually great dish even better! One of the best Cantonese meals I've had, my partner agreed to it's excellence. Thanks New Fortune Cookie. We'll be back soon!

The flavor of the food was somewhat bland and lacked seasoning. The vegetables were not cleaned thoroughly and felt gritty. The prices were reasonable, but the waitstaff lacked enthusiasm. The dining area was also quite cramped. The overall quality of Chinese cuisine in London has room for improvement. The taste of the food is a bit bland and not tasty. The vegetables were not washed well and were a little dirty. The price is okay. The waiter's attitude was not enthusiastic enough. The dining area is narrow. The overall standard of Chinese food in London needs to be improved.

Popped in because my wife was craving orange chicken. Unfortunately there was some miscommunication and the orange chicken we were thinking of is called sweet sour chicken. They were kind enough to remake the dish to what we wanted before close.

I love this small, very cosy restaurant, seve traditional Chinese food here. I went back again and again and never disappointed. Staff are attentive and friendly. It was lovely to go for lunch or dinner. It's just perfect.

I’ve been here many many many times, and it is still my favourite place for dinner with all my family! The best place for roast duck, mixed meats and sweet and sour pork! Another favourite is the streamed scallops and fresh lobster with ginger and noodles!

The food is good, we took menu A for two and we could have easily eaten with three. By 12.50pm we arrived at £30 with a bottle of water. I don't know. But everything was really excellent and plentiful. Room and service a little spartan, especially the men's bathroom that really needs fixing. But for eating it's really good, go there hungry or don't take the really generous menus.

The evocative taste makes us to go there for a few times when we are in London. Highly recommended for you if you want to taste the real Chinese food.

Close to Queensway Tube Station and opposite Hyde Park, this Chinese restaurant offers both comfort and convenience for lunch. My daughter likes the Vietnamese spring rolls and has them every time we visit.

DO NOT USE THE TOILETS, RATS BIGGER THEN CATS, THE corridor is a NIGHTMARE you will never never be the same, after going to this place for 30 years, sadly it has now ended, I wish I never walked down that spiral staircase to witness the nightmare of huge rats & The droppings behind every door ever corner, queens way is a nightmare always has been, but seeing this at 5pm rush hour the place was full all 2 floors upstairs & downstairs, 1 of the staff members was walking down towards me looked at me while I was walking out when he seen around 10 rats in 1 corner 15 in the other started smiling as if Oh No, I simply said please cancel my order walked out extremely sad & hungry, again, DO NOT GO DOWNSTAIRS!!! if you need to use the facilities you will be sorry, I understand the capital has a rat infestation especially queens way, however they simply don’t bother todo anything about it, the money that place produces they could remodel the whole place especially down stairs at least, but the 30 years that I know of it nothings changed sadly, DO NOT GO DOWN THE SPIRAL STAIRCASE OF DOOM!!! Also the little bowls had previous customers plum sauce baked on the rim, It’s lost its cleanliness, they simply don’t care Super sad was 1 of the finest Chinese places in London sadly not anymore.

I can honestly say this is one of the best Chinese food meals I’ve ever had in my life. Me, my sister, and my mom said it tasted like the Chinese restaurant we grew up eating around the corner from our home. Every bite was sensational, the food tasted great, the server was alert but not overbearing. When I come back to London I’m definitely coming back here

I got off the Queensway Tube, starving tourist I was and there was a delicious roasted duck in the window calling me in, upon entry I was greeted cheerfully by the manager my to go order was taken immediately and under 10 minutes they had my order of roasted duck with egg fried rice ready to go, it was the most delicious duck I have ever eaten perfectly cooked loved it!!!

If you want something that tastes like ACTUAL Chinese food, come. Not the correct place for dim sum, but if you’re looking for food with 鑊氣 (that distinct flavor upgrade from the wok when you stir-fry food), this place is what you’re looking for.

I always look to visit this restaurant whenever I get the chance whilst working in London as in my opinion, it serves some of the best Chinese food for many a mile. Lucky enough to be working in the area again recently for the first time in three years and so I headed to this place on a warm, June, Monday evening - 7-30pm and the restaurant was full with primarily Chinese diners which speaks volumes for the quality of the food. I went for the Kung Po King Prawns, chicken with ginger and spring onion and stir fried mixed vegetables - the service and quality of food was as good as ever and the atmosphere in the restaurant was fantastic. Looking forward to a return visit to my favourite Chinese restaurant.

This place has shot up to be one of my favorite Chinese restaurant in London. Unlike it name that symbolizes an Anglicization of traditional Chinese food, New Fortune Cookie restaurant does a good job in striking a great balance between catering to those who look for typical Chinese food and globalized Chinese food. My favorite dish in this place is their roast charsiu and crispy pork belly. I have been here twice before but we decided against not eating as they had ran out of these roast pork meats. Luckily this time around ,they had both meats and we were really happy with the crispiness and flavour. I can see why they run out of both early as customers seems to love these items. If you love these roast meats like how I do, maybe call ahead and ask or arrive no later than 8pm (even then the risk is high). Their lobster noodles is good too and we paid around 50gbp as market price. It is really messy though so be prepared. Maybe not do this if you are dating 😄. Their special fried rice and wonton soup were fabulous as well. They perfectly wrapped up our dining experience. We will definitely try their place next time.

One of the few remaining old school Cantonese restaurants in Bayswater / Queensway area. You still get a fortune cookie at the end of your meal! Excellent food and more importantly it’s authentic. Lots of local Asian eat here as their regular dining place. If you know your real Cantonese food, then you should come here to taste it! Friendly and efficient service and very reasonable prices.

Amazing food and service! We ordered the shrimp dumpling noodles in soup. And man let me tell you about this dish!! So full of flavor! The noodles were perfectly cooked and that dumplings were MASSIVE!! I would definitely recommend 👌

This is the third time we’ve visited New Fortune Cookie because my partner really likes it. I think it's just an average Chinese restaurant, but the prices are reasonable and the servers are friendly and warm. Lovely food and good service. Have been here a few times and it is consistently nice. Recommend you ask for the half duck boneless in soy sauce along with other dishes. My friends and I get it each time!

Not fancy but very good quality good. Some other more famous places around the area but in prefer this on. Friendly service as you would expect. Some amazing dishes that you see in the room but for me they did my basic favorites very well. And the price was very reasonable. We are local here and this is our place.

I frequently come here to get their takeaway crispy pork (on and without rice). This is one of the more affordable places around Queensway for this dish but does not compromise on quality or taste. Flavoursome and good meat/fat ratio. The staff are very friendly towards us but can appear to be a bit crisp at times. Do not be deterred, it’s just business but they’re all lovely :)

I had an excellent meal with my friends here. We ordered as a group, and it was really easy to share everything. The portions were big, very tasty, and reasonably priced. The lady serving us was very patient and knowledgeable about the dishes, and she really helped us decide what (and how much) we wanted!

Love the roast duck and i think it’s the best of the three roast ducks in Bayswater. Value for money. Crusty crust skin that is not too oily. Duck was easier to chew than the other 2.

The food was delicious, we had: crispy seaweed, sweat and sour chicken, bbq ribs, hoisin duck with pancakes, vegetable spring rolls. The only negative point is that the ribs where too fatty and not enough meat could be due to low quality meat or the cut. However would definitely go again as was very tasty and good price

I absolutely loved this restaurant. The decor. The food is tops. I only wished i had taken photos. People were lining up to get in here. So we couldn't get a dessert. Which i wanted to try. Next time for sure. This is my 3rd restaurant down queensway trying. Im now going to make it my restaurant to go to. Worth every penny. You wont be disappointed. Thankyou very much 😊
