Great peking duck, try menu B, authentic food. Just been back again (April2024), still good, great friendly staff, not overpriced and good quality....

This is the third time we’ve visited New Fortune Cookie because my partner really likes it. I think it's just an average Chinese restaurant, but the prices are reasonable and the servers are friendly and warm. When eager for Chinese food in London, coming here for a meal is a good choice. #KissKidsFamily

A very cozy little place with excellent service and very tasty food at a very reasonable price.

Lovely food and good service. Have been here a few times and it is consistently nice. Recommend you ask for the half duck boneless in soy sauce along with other dishes. My friends and I get it each time!

Not fancy but very good quality good. Some other more famous places around the area but in prefer this on. Friendly service as you would expect. Some amazing dishes that you see in the room but for me they did my basic favorites very well. And the price was very reasonable. We are local here and this is our place.

Very slow and bad service. We ordered a starter and two main courses and the second main course took over an hour to be served. The restaurant was very busy and there were a lot of takeout orders but I think they should give priority to restaurant diners.

The food is very delicious and served quickly. I highly recommend the "lobster" with yellow noodles. There are special New Year special meals to choose from during the Chinese New Year.

Been going to this restaurant every time we are in Bayswater for years. Food is truly Cantonese taste and quality is always maintained. Price is very acceptable especially if you compare with others in Chinatown.

I frequently come here to get their takeaway crispy pork (on and without rice). This is one of the more affordable places around Queensway for this dish but does not compromise on quality or taste. Flavoursome and good meat/fat ratio. The staff are very friendly towards us but can appear to be a bit crisp at times. Do not be deterred, it’s just business but they’re all lovely :)

The food is great, especially the ducks and sea food. But I should say the service is quite the Hong Kong style, or we should say: fast ordering and no patience, if you have been in Hong Kong once you will be familiar to it😅……new comments: I am not sure, but I and my friends feel that recently this restaurant is not as good as before🤔

I had an excellent meal with my friends here. We ordered as a group, and it was really easy to share everything. The portions were big, very tasty, and reasonably priced. The lady serving us was very patient and knowledgeable about the dishes, and she really helped us decide what (and how much) we wanted!

Love the roast duck and i think it’s the best of the three roast ducks in Bayswater. Value for money. Crusty crust skin that is not too oily. Duck was easier to chew than the other 2.

The food was delicious, we had: crispy seaweed, sweat and sour chicken, bbq ribs, hoisin duck with pancakes, vegetable spring rolls. The only negative point is that the ribs where too fatty and not enough meat could be due to low quality meat or the cut. However would definitely go again as was very tasty and good price

I absolutely loved this restaurant. The decor. The food is tops. I only wished i had taken photos. People were lining up to get in here. So we couldn't get a dessert. Which i wanted to try. Next time for sure. This is my 3rd restaurant down queensway trying. Im now going to make it my restaurant to go to. Worth every penny. You wont be disappointed. Thankyou very much 😊

Great Chinese duck rice. Better than the ones I had in singapore. Saw some reviews on arrogant staffs. Didn't feel that way. We exchanged in English and staff was quick to place order and food delivered. Its a busy place.

We love the food there! Always a good number of Chinese people there, a good indicator of the quality of dishes offered, mainly Cantonese. We have been there many times, also had birthday celebrations upstairs. Highly recommended.

Went here twice during our 5d4n London trip because we wanted to try more food. Our first meal here was not so good, the fried rice was bland, tasteless no wok hey at all. And the wonton soup, the skin of the wonton is so thick it is not cook thoroughly. Didn’t manage to snap pictures during our 1st visit. Second visit we tried the lobster noodle as so many people left a good review on it. It was still bland or maybe our expectation was high due to the high review. The crispy duck was also not so good.

Who needs to go to Chinatown. . Authentic Cantonese food experience at a reasonable price .

来伦敦一个多月，去过几十家餐馆，这家是最差的。我就想不通谁给的4.2，本来很期待结果吃了几口就出来了，肉真的很难吃，而且一大块肉咬不断，不知道是不是想给我磨牙，店员服务是我长这么大第一次遇到这种，一个穿黑衣服的店员，点餐一点耐心没有，而且说话很不清楚，很不屑的口气，点了个炒雪糕，说没有，问有没有其他甜品推荐，直接把菜单扔桌子上走了，对，扔在桌子上，什么情况啊这是，我不理解他怎么有这么高的评分的，饭不好吃，态度简直恶劣，我就吃了几口就出来了，不知道那些打高分的是不是刚好遇到了很好的服务员，刚好点了还不错的菜才打高分的，反正如果有人想体验一下恶劣服务可以去看看

Good food, good service and people knows each other like family

We have been coming here for absolutely years. My grandma had her 90th birthday here, my friends have had wedding banquets here (upstairs). The restaurant itself is not fancy looking, but you get good food and service. I would recommend that you go off the beaten path and try things from the menu you don't normally get - such as Eel or some of the dishes cooked in clay pots.

This is a fantastic Chinese restaurant right next to Queensway tube. It was filled with Chinese people so we knew the food would be good, and it was. Service is efficient but no-frills - they brought the bill because they needed us to leave! People were queuing out of the door waiting for a table. Definitely a gem worth visiting.

Probably the best Chinese food in London, if not the UK. Great quality and portion sizes for very reasonable pricing. Big favourite was the Beijing Duck, which was absolutely phenomenal. Will definitely be back!

The food was distinctly average, the black bean sauce was so salty I couldn’t eat it. The main problem was the manager - there was a mistake with our bill which was not our fault and yet the manager went out of his way to be extremely rude to us instead of apologising for what was clearly their mistake. We will never ever go back and recommend you avoid this horrible horrible place.

As long as you sell Chinese food, use Chinese words, speak Chinese language(Cantonese included!!!) you have to respect CHINESE! This is the first time for me to write a comment for a restaurant. I feel really disappointed to the service. Ever since we came into the restaurant, we have said a lot of times of thank you to the waitress and showed our highest respect to them. However, the waitress just ignored us and let us waited for a long time. They RUDELY asked us to wait with an offensive hand gesture✋ which made us feel really uncomfortable and disrespected. The dishes were served quick but they were placed hard and randomly on the table and we have to replace them by ourselves, we said many times of thank you but no response at all, even no friendly smile. Before we pay the bill, all the conversations were completed in MANDARIN. According to the bad experience we refused to pay the service fee and began to speak English. They asked why we don’t want to pay the service fee I said that I don’t think the service I received deserve this. They show me the menu and told me if I don’t want to pay the service fee we have to tell them in advance… I said we have the right not to pay the fee when we do not receive proper service. The waitress asked: “who gave you the right not to pay? “ That’s really ridiculous! Then she poured all the food we have packed on the table and said if you do not pay the service fee then you can’t pack the food 😡 I have never seen such rude waitress in my lifetime. The most important thing is that she told us “do not dine here anymore“ in Chinese lightly, it seems that she doesn’t want the customers who do not know about Chinese to understand this sentence! REALLY NOT RECOMMEND

Fantastic duck. Very popular. Best to book. Excellent service. We are Australians & remembered this restsurant from pre Covid travels so returned in May 2023 for 2 of our 4 nights in London.

We are vegetarians. No allium. The manager kindly helped us arrange for vegetarian dishes for our dietary needs. The kai lan stir fry w ginger was the nicest.

Food was overall tasty; Minced seafood wrapped in Lettuce was my favourite :) Roasted duck was nice as well, although I am not a huge fan of duck. Fook chow style fried rice was an average. Restaurant is relatively small and was super packed, but service was swift - will be back again :)

Wow! The food here was very delicious. The presentation great, the speed was fast, and the flavor was simply dynamite! If that weren't enough, our waiter, Chi Wang, was so pleasant to deal with. I will search this place out as a destination on my next London trip!

Best Chinese restaurant in London

The food wasn't that great, a bit on the bland side. For my liking

I have to say this was the best-fried noodle I tasted so far in the UK. It was crispy and slightly soft outside; the prawns and veggies were fresh and tasty. And the sauce on the top was so good, not too thick nor too thin, just the right condensed. The price was so reasonable too, definitely better than those in China Town.

It’s so popular and busy that many dishes were sold out! Will not come here during the school holiday next time. Roasted duck and pan fried vegetable with garlic sauce are nice. Chicken is a bit dry. Noodle is ok. Very reasonable price. Recommended this restaurant.

Superb roast duck! Came with family and had a great meal. All the dishes were very good and tasty. The mixed ingredients noodle was excellent with wok hei! A definite must visit place whenever I am visiting London.

Food was ok good. Service was not up to my expected standard in comparison to other restaurants that I have visited. As I am more after good customer service than food. I will not return to dine again . And will not recommend to anyone. However if you are after a quick dinning and good food price. And do not mind the customer service. Then you may find it acceptable as food quality was not bad. Another issue I would like to add was washroom condition which was so well below standard. If I have visited the toilet first before I sat down. I could have left straight away without placing the order. It was disgusting , in my opinion , in the male washroom.

We had lunch yesterday. Arrived at 12 noon and no need to queue. We are served at the first floor. We ordered chai Siu with rice, spicy pork ribs, spicy squid, crab meat in soup, fried beef with noodles. They are all tasty and freshly made. The only thing not good is long waiting time for food to come.

lobster noodles was served half cold. lobster was not fresh at all and tasted bland and tough. noodles were soggy and tasteless. 47GBP for this dish is a joke! roast duck was not bad but very fatty. not child friendly, no baby chairs available, only have booster seats which were not very safe. staff was cold and unfriendly. charged 15% service charge even though we were just 2 adults, and did not inform us until i asked about it. dont understand why there are so many positive reviews about this restaurant. they serve fortune cookies at the end of the meal which ironically is a Western invention. Fortune cookies are NOT a Chinese food.

I am always looking for great Chinese food. This place is a real find. Prawn toast is home made with a layer of prawns thicker than the bread - amazing . Their seafood crispy noodles are the best I have found in London. Service was fast and friendly. I’ll pick this over Chinatown anytime. Superb food for £20 a head.

the fried rice was alright, and the sweet and sour chicken was good. however, DO NOT order the chicken cashew it has no flavour and bland, the waiter refused to take it away.

Plats succulents noodle vegetarian et riz avec boeuf bambou champignon. Mais serveuse pas très aimable. On a apprécié le gateau de la chance offert en fin de repas.

I had lunch at 12:05 in the morning today. The staff woman name Meh is so rude. I was so excited to invite my parents to eat in here at first time but the staff attitude is so rude. She was so angry since we came. We called her to take the sauce but she ignored. I wont never come this restaurant again!

They were so rude!!! I was told to wait at the door just because my friend wasn’t there yet, I told them that my friend was only 2 minutes away and they still had me stand at the door, even though there were multiple tables empty.

Boneless soya chicken is a must try dish. Some people complain about the noise or service level. But see being a bit noisy is very typical of Chinese restaurant. The meaning of service also different between a western Vs Chinese restaurant. In a Chinese restaurant, the ultimate thing is to have excellent food. Don't bother asking me how's the food because if I return that means good. Else there won't be a next time. So just go and give it a try. Excellent food and always book in advance. There is underground parking across the street but a bit pricey.

One of the few reminding old school Cantonese restaurants in Bayswater / Queensway area. You still get a fortune cookie at the end of your meal! Excellent food and more importantly it’s authentic. Lots of local Asian eat here as their regular dining place. If you know your real Cantonese food, then you should come here to taste it! Friendly and efficient service and very reasonable prices.
