Plum Valley Fine Dining in City of London, Westminster

This is our first time coming here, On special occasions we haven't seen our friend for a long time, this restaurant is so pretty you got a separate room also and karaoke. The food was delicious, crispy, big portions, friendly service, I enjoy it now I know this place is best to eat at this restaurant again with karaoke. The dimsum portion is Wow Am super full lol is best since I haven't eaten after long shift night Thank you for an amazing day

Every time I go to London's Chinatown to eat, I don't expect any service, so my husband and I walked into Plum Blossom Village for a big lunch. Unexpectedly, we met a very nice waiter with glasses. He didn't have to wait and didn't rush. He automatically helped you add water to make tea. He also helped me find plum sauce and ordered roasted duck. I don't eat duck because it's dry. The service of these four-eyed guys is really good👍🏻 , good service and high efficiency👍🏻The overall food is delicious, can you recommend it?

The food was OK, but not the best. We found the lemon chicken sauce to sweet and covered in a lot of flour. The weren't enough vegetables or chicken in the stir fry noodles, which it was a shame that the flavour was good. Service was OK, but if you are a regular the treatment from the staff was different to someone going there, for the first time. Also I don't agree with the added service charge.

We had a great time at Plum Valley - good food, reasonably priced and good service. I would recommend if you are looking for a more intimate Chinese restaurant, rather than large group seating at circular tables.

Went to Plum Valley today at ChibesecNew Year. Whilst very busy abd popular queue to get in... Service was good Atmosphere was good Various menus to choose from Food out of this world extremely tasty Whilst a little pricy with 12.5% service charge it was worth it. Only slight criticism we had set course and one dish was brought out at a time when ideally wanted them altogether. Overall would highly recommend and would visit again!

Took my mum and family here for my mum’s 70th. We had a wonderful experience here with some incredible food! The staff were all lovely and we left feeling incredibly satisfied. Will recommend for sure!

Mixed experience here today with friends. Kung pao chicken was excellent but the rest was average. Chow mein was cold, and the spicy pork dish was bland. Please refer to my photo of the hair extracted from my meal too. Could probably find better Chinese in Timaru! (Which is in New Zealand btw)

Before you go... I left a negative review, because of the service I received on a joined dinner and a food quality. We made separates orders and we received the bill to pay. We calculated the total and.... they added the service charge of 13% not 12%. Each of us paid own bill. I said I didn't include the service charge and I paid. The WAITER added that service charge to my friend bill!!!! I told him how he dared to do it without anyone permission. I told him that the service charge was discretionary not mandatory and adding it to somebody's bill wasn't polite. The WAITER's reply stunned me..." He served us he deserved the service charge! " I asked him to remove the service charge from that bill and I paid again against my will!!!! That answer was inpolite and unpropriate. In fact, I didn't say this, but.... if your salary is not enough, find a new job, don't talk that way to the customer. If you want to get a mandatory service charge, increase the meal price! Food: If you have allergies, they have a very nice book with the meals and ingredients. If you are a gluten free, you may have 4 options only. If you vegetarian or vegan you are fine. Food quality, I say is low, pork, chicken, duck are premade in a flour and can't be adjusted the same sauces (the gluten free can't eat). I ordered Singapour vermicelli with pork and shrimp. It's 3/10. I couldn't find pork and there were a few tiny shrimps, not much veggies too. I ate a 1000x better one. I wanted the fish soup, but by the recommendation I didn't order. Instead I ordered what I was recommended a fried chicken on rice. I thought that was a good choice....again... SURPRISE!!! I received an oily rice with a cooked and chewy chicken and a few green peas, no sauce, no veggies, nothing. More.... That costed the same price as other beautifully looking dishes of my friends. Please think whether you want to go to this restaurant...

I was quite surprised to discover that place only has 3.8 starts. Food was delicious, interior cute and clean, staff very attentive and polite. I will definitely come back!

Took a long time to take our order, and most of the food was only lukewarm when it arrived. The staff were not friendly and did not smile. The food came in fits and starts and some people in our party were finished before others had even started. Mixed starter was quite expensive for what it is!

Service was awful. They just dump the food without saying anything. The beer came half way through the meal. A table of young (non coloured) people refused to pay service charge but were not questioned. When we refused, the manager started to confront us and raise her voice and say "oh boo hoo", I won't get paid now. She was very abrupt and made us want to exit quickly. Tip to manager: if you want service charge, give the service. Simple.

Used to be fine years ago, but it was really grim when I returned recently. Mopping the floor with boiling bleach while we were still eating was possibly the pinnacle of the poor service. At least it bordered on comically bad. Most of the food was cold and when we asked to have it reheated, it returned in the same form.

Le plats sont corrects mais sans grande explosion de saveur non plus. En gros : cuisine de cantine mais facturée au prix d’un bon restaurant. Le service est froid, sans conseils et au au lance pierre. Le touriste arrive, le touriste mange et le touriste part merci et au suivant. On ajoute à cela une carte extrêmement fournie certes mais difficile à comprendre et comme il faut passer commande vite pas le temps de se pencher vraiment dessus

I would definitely avoid this restaurant. Neither of the dishes we ordered bore any real resemblance to how they were described on the menu. The one with asparagus had only two tiny pieces, while a fermented chilli bean curd with vegetables only had vegetables. When we queried this with the staff, they were unhelpful. The prices were high, given the low quality of the food.

This place was amazing!! Accommodated us a family of 5 at short notice. The food was fabulous and so fresh and we managed not to over order. They even found us a karaoke room when the meal was finished which as a family of 5 with children aged 20,12. & 9 it was a memorable night for us. Decor is great and staff worked well together

The dim sum is in average here. But when compared to other China Town restaurant, it is not bad. But dim sum is more expensive than others

The food ,when it came, was really good. Got the rice and noodles 10 min before the main dish so had cooled right down! Drinks took quite a while to come, (had to ask where they were)Beer was a bit warm. Overall not bad but probably try somewhere else on another visit to Chinatown

Terrible service, quite rude actually, food was not great, portions were small and very expensive. We couldn't finish the food as it wasn't great but because it's so expensive we asked for takeaway boxes and they charged us for it. Would not recommend. Rip off and really not worth it.

If you are passing through London, you must try this restaurant. It was a delight! He has several dishes that I didn't have time to take photos of because the plates were finished very quickly.

Loved the seating, and our food order was taken really quickly, and the food arrived quickly. The food itself was disappointing, I’ve had far better Chinese food in other places. Whilst the service was quick, there was no interaction, and the food was just put on the table without a smile or any conversation. There are far better places to go in London for Chinese.

The store is just a joke. It looks very inviting, but appearances can be deceiving. Food ranges from OK to bad, requests are not taken into account even though they write it down. You will be annoyed if the wrong water bottle is brought and the food is brought one at a time. The plates and cans are always cleared away during the meal and in the end you are indirectly thrown out through the direct bill after the meal

Dumplings nothing special but chicken with cashew nuts and ribs were great :) whole family enjoyed food ... I would come again ...

Booked a table for a birthday meal. It has good service from staff. Food was excellent and every thing that was ordered was enjoyed. Especially enjoyed the mixed vegetable platter for vegetarians, all the little bites on there were super yummy. Definitely worth visiting.

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! This restaurant is bar far one of the best Chinese restaurants I have ever been to. I was there on Saturday 23rd of November. It was extremely busy but the efficiency of the staff to get people seated was so professional. They were calm and courteous throughout. The food was fresh, hot and beautifully presented. You must definitely try their dim sum, melt in your mouth and soooo delicious. If you like lychees, try the lychee cocktail, fabulous! Excellent customer service and always with a smile. We had an amazing evening. I will definitely be vising there again soon. Thank you to May for the great conversation and all the staff, who looked after us so well. See you soon! 😘

I’ve never been served by rude staff like this. We ordered some starters and in the end of our meal we decided to order some tea. Tea was horrible so after one sip we kindly asked to swap this tea to different one and the waitress told us that we can’t do that but we can order other one (and pay for both🤩) which is not normal already. when we received our bill,we saw that they charged us twice for 1 pot of tea because we were sharing. The waiter called manager and the manager told us that the price in the menu is per person which is weird as the size of tea pot is same as for 1 person. When we asked to remove service charge, manager became aggressive and extra rude. The worst experience in London. Never recommended this place if you’re looking for a place with good service. Food was nice though but wasn’t worth these negative emotions

Second time dining at Plum Valley. Both experiences were outstanding. The food is sublime—just the right level of spice, ingredients are fresh, perfectly cooked and plated. I’ll dine there any chance I get. Highly recommend.

AVOID!!! Food was average at best. Service very poor. Management extremely agressive and rude. Be careful, they will try to force you to pay the service charge - which is completely illegal. Manager will try and take advantage of you by being agressive and rude. AVOID!

Avoid this restaurant and do yourself a favour and go to one of the many other dim sum restaurants in the area. Food was mid at best and the staffs were horrible. Upon receiving the bill, there was a 12.5% service charge added. When we told them we didn’t want that to be added, the waitress became aggressive and forced us to pay for it. This scam they’re running is clearly illegal, customers have the right to ask for service charge to be removed and yet they refused to and instead treated us with zero respect. Should make a report against their unethical business.

In the middle of Chinatown on Picadilly Circus you will find Plum Valley. A beautiful restaurant that reflects Asian diversity. I was particularly impressed by the large selection of vegetarian dishes. The service is delicious and I would happily come back.

Amazing food and service I got the Hong Kong wind shelter bay king prawn fried vermicelli noodles and could really taste the sheltered winds of the bay.

Upon enquiry why the tip prompt was still showing on the payment terminal, I was told that the discretionary (but of course, for groups, automatically added) service charge (still) does not go to employees, despite the venue stating it does on several places. Tips do seem to go to employees. I can't verify it, obviously, but at the very least it's contradicting information. In any case, the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023 is in full force since 1 October 2024. Visit was on 9 November 2024.

This is one of my favourite places in Chinatown if you're looking for some mouth watering dimsums or some juice pork belly. The only problem with the restaurant is its service. They have a limited staff so it might be a while before anyone comes to take your order. The food at the end makes it all worth it though.

Some of the best vegetarian tofu options in Chinatown. My go to when I’m going for Chinese food, would recommend the green tea

Very overpriced place I wouldn’t recommend overall. We were sat in the basement which was quite claustrophobic and smelly so be aware of that . Only a few plates were worth the money.

If you’re looking for Dim sum in chinatown this is the place to go. I’ve tried many places in this area but thia has to be the best so far. Atmosphere is beautiful, service was great and the food was out of the world! Must try the Lotus Sticky Rice. So delicious, 100% this is my first choice every time when I go out for dim sum. Best part is they serve dim sum all day!

Wonderful vegetarian options, delicious food.

The waiter for our table provided the worst service ever. To the big families ordering lots and lots of meals, she always provided care and smiles. However, to us (2 people on small table), she showed the grumpy face as if she is annoyed about us asking for the food or ordering something extra. Also, when serving the food, she slammed it on the table as if she was expressing the work stress on us. Therefore, we did not want to pay the service fee. The food is not cheap, but I did not want to pay extra money for the service because for us, it was not worth the service charge. But she came up to us with the most angry face and said what was the problem. We did not want to tell her, because she still had that attitude towards us. Come on, we did NOT do anything wrong. So I did not say anything, I just told her I don't want to sat it. Then, without even asking, she just made us to pay the service fee when we requested for not paying the fee as we were not only unsatisfied with the service, but also disappointed. I did not want to make any fights, so we just paid and walked out. I DO NOT WANT TO GO TO THIS RESTAJRANT, EVER AGAIN. I felt so relieved after walking out of the restaurant. The food was fair, but not as good to an extent which it can outweigh the poor service. If you guys only want big families paying lots of money for the meal, not small group or an individual paying less than them, then don't accept small group bookings. VERY disappointed.

The service was great, especially from our waitress Lily. She was very attentive and spent the time to talk to us and discuss her preferences and opinions on the food, which was very thoughtful. The food was very good and I would definitely visit again.

So disappointed with our trip to Plum Valley last night , every time we visit London as a couple or with friends it’s always been a must do. Last night although the restaurant wasn’t busy the wait for food was toooo long and the order when it arrived was mixed up. One of our starters came with our mains and was luke warm. I don’t know what has changed but it wasn’t anywhere near as good as usual. Sadly it’s time for us to change and try a new place. The staff were lovely as usual which is why we left a tip.

Scamming prices with a smile. Compliment you when paying a bill and food brought at different times. Staff taking to you whilst walking … Food not that great! And after the service charge want, you to tip them too! Joke!

As we were browsing the menus outside the restaurants we were quickly greeted by the hostess who ushered us in. I decided to give it a try as one of my friends used to regularly go there but I will tell her how poor this place is. We were asked to go downstairs and the waiter gave us a table for 2 but as group of 3 people arrived the hostess asked me and my daughter if we could move for them and then told us to move again. At this point I asked should we leave but they said no it was fine. We ordered some dim sum and duck rice. The dim sum was ok but some was clearly frozen stuff which you could buy in the supermarkets, rather than handmade. The duck rice seemed ok at first and then after a couple of pieces we realised it was reheated old pieces dried out to a rocklike texture. At this point I made a compliant, the hostess apologized and said she would report it to the chef. I tried to explain and show her how awful it was, she didn't want to confess or comment but agreed to take it off the bill or give us another portion which I declined. She even said this is a specialist dim sum restaurant, but its ok seemingly to serve shrivelled up duck to me rather than take it off the menu altogether? Honestly what a con, so 3 items of dim sum and tea came to £38 ...what a con! I will never go back.

I’m not sure if we will be coming back again. We had to wait nearly an hour for an our first dish - pecking duck, which came in two different portions and was delivered 20 minutes apart. The rest of the food came one dish at a time with the egg fried rice delivered last. The egg fried rice was very dry and the prawns in it tasted not fresh. The service was very slow. The whole lunch took over two hours. We were all very hungry when the food arrived as we had to wait for over an hour

We've been eating here for several years. The food is always good. Not cheap, but good value. Try and get one of the booths on the ground floor.

We came here as a walk-in on a very busy Saturday night. We had to wait a little bit but nothing too bad considering and they kept us updated throughout. It was a mix of vegans and meat eaters in our group, all of us were well catered for! They had delicious sweet and sour vegan chicken pieces, as well as vegan duck in black beans sauce. Portion sizes for the rice are generous so recommend one per couple. Would recommend this place to anyone!

For vegetarians there was a wide range of food to choose from and the staff there were very accommodating and had knowledgeable of the menu items which were suitable for us! This meant we were able to have a variety of items to choose from! The portion sizes were decent and overall good value for money! Would definitely recommend

Came here with a group recently. The service was fantastic, a nice atmosphere too and food was really nice. Got the salt and pepper chicken, egg fried rice and jasmine tea. Well worth a visit, will definitely be visiting again.

It was 4 of us including a 2 year old , no kids menu , food didn't arrive together , I ordered dim sum and chow main which both were cold , prawns were so overcooked and and chow main was dry , my best friend ordered chicken soup and she could barely eat it, because it contained bones , by the time she removed them the food went cold , we are not gonna come back again
