DO NOT EAT HERE. THEY FORCE SERVICE CHARGE BY SHOUTING AT YOU ! The WORST experience I have had in a restaurant. My daughter wanted to treat me to a dinner out, she said she had been here a few times and said that our favourite food, 'sweet & sour' was really nice, although she said its pricey, but she wanted to treat me . We had to change the noodles as they tasted very burnt , they kindly replaced with no issues , but came back still tasting burnt , just less burnt. The rest of the food was really nice, but for the price I would have expected bigger amount . Anyway for two people it came to just under £60 Sweet & sour Bbq pork 1 very small bowl of rice 1 plain noodles 2 cold drinks 1 tea. My daughter went to the toilet and left the card with me, when the bill came, I saw a service charge of just under £7 i kindly said, would you pls remove the service charge , the younger lady shouted " is there something wrong with the service? " I said no, just that my daughter is treating me and this is her card and I'm saving her a bit as she's autistic ( she doesn't have much) the lady continued to get louder and louder telling me I have to pay it , you know if you come inside you must pay service ". I said I'm giving change from my own pocket , she said "that's different, that's a tip this is service charge" I said "I thought service charge was optional,?" I handed over the card and she bent down and quietly said, "yes, well it is optional, but you know, you should pay 😏 Then got louder again and said we don't charge if you take away , we don't always charge, only if you eat in ". I literally gave her the card to shut her up as everyone was looking and I didn't want my autistic daughter to come and get upset from seeing her mum have arguments, but I was fuming and ready to kick off. I had to sit there , angry & embarrassed (as the place went silent) for a good while, waiting for my daughter to come back. We will not be back as we are regular large family who eat out a fair bit , definitely wont be here , their loss. Rude person . Never again .and I will be reporting to trading standards for forcing service charge on the bill .

Very welcoming customer service. Unfortunately my friend and I suffered from a severe illness with diarrhea, vomiting, stomachache and fever for at least 12hr, We had to stay in bed the next whole day. We only had that meal for that day, so for sure some of the ingredients from the buffet hot pot were not fresh. It was a pity, I wish the ingredients can be more securely control.

We had a very good dining experience today, eating hot pot at China House in London's Chinatown 🍲, £28.80 per person (minimum of two people), you can eat whatever you want, you can enjoy it, there are many kinds of food (including seafood, meat, vegetables and noodles, etc.), the price is very reasonable. The food can be added repeatedly, and the sauce can be matched according to your own taste without extra charge. The waiters are also very warm and friendly, and the restaurant is also very clean and tidy! 👍👍👍 Will definitely come again!

I made an appointment with my friends to eat at this familiar Chinese restaurant over the weekend. The staff were very welcoming and the service was very good. Our favorite roast duck and boiled fish are still as delicious as before. We will come back next month.

Terrible experience - staff were rude, insisted we had received a drink we had not received, to the extent of threatening us. Do not visit.

I had the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life at a restaurant in this establishment. We had ordered a drink that never reached our table. When we brought this up with the waitress she immediately yelled and accused us of lying, even threatening to check the CCTV footage. This was completely shocking as we never expected something like this. Why would we lie over £5 after we had ordered an entire table of food? We told her to check the footage as we never received the drink in the first place. I have never been accused AS A PAYING CUSTOMER of such an insane thing before. This is rather unfortunate as we used to love this restaurant and enjoyed the food. We will never return here. This is a completely unacceptable way to speak to others, especially customers.

I went to this restaurant for the first time and my experience was an unpleasant one. They insisted that a drink I ordered was served to me even though it wasn't. The staff was rude and accused me of lying. Good thing I'll never have to deal with them again because I'll never go there again.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. We enquired about a drink that we never received and then they accused us of lying and said they would check the CCTV and continued to yell at us. Why the hell would we order all of the food we did and then LIE about not receiving a gin and tonic??? Absolutely pathetic! I complained strongly, told them to remove the service charge and when we told them their behavior was unacceptable, they did not even apologize. I wish I was making any of this up. I am still in disbelief. NEVER coming back here. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

Average and charge 1.40£ for service

The food was average, the fried rice had a burn after taste which didn’t taste too good. The chicken was nice but the prices seamed to be very expensive especially for the not so large portions you get. I won’t be going again i feel like you can get better prices and portions at other places near by.

Food is ok, portion is good. Customer service is appalling with no manners and rudeness. Let alone speaking proper English. Definitely I would never recommend.

I came here for a quick stop with my son. We had chicken noodles with sweet and sour chicken but I requested separate sauce and we had grilled pork dumplings and boa bun . We had amazing dinner after the Chinese New Year celebration.🏮⛩️🧧 It was full but the service was great, friendly staff🙂 The food is exceptional, delicious, clean ingredients, presentation and big portion size 😋 Prices are above average but totally worth the amount of food you’ll get 👌 Very clean white table clothes and good table setup ,spacious compared to the rest of the restaurants In China Town . We definitely recommend it 👌😍

Went here with my Fiancée, Food was amazing, great place to unwind after a long day. We were warmly welcomed and led to our table the same way, Our server was extremely friendly and she constantly checked if we needed anything, atmosphere was pleasant to say the least and the table presentation was impressive visually. 10/10 would visit again 😁

Mi visita a Chinatown fue inusual en esta ocasión, ya que llevaba a mis hijos (8 y 9 ) y quería un lugar que se adaptara a la familia. Nueva China era perfecta. Reservar fue fácil, cada miembro del personal era súper amable, bromeando con mis hijos todo el tiempo, la comida era genial, mis hijos estaban comiendo fideos, costillas, panecillos de verduras, guindilla, arroz con mariscos, a todos nos encantó nuestras comidas, cosas geniales. Limpiar los baños también. Cuando visite Londres será casi imposible no volver, ya que mis hijos lo tomarán como un hecho que comeremos aquí. A minutos de Oliver! el Teatro musical también. No puedo pensar en un negativo. Me sorprendió ver algunas críticas negativas, pero al leerlas parecen ser sobre todo por personas presumiblemente borrachas que aparecieron cerca del cierre y esperaban una cocina completa, personas que aparecieron cuando estaba ocupado sin reservar y luego no les gustó su mesa (? ) o por personas que solo dejan malas críticas y no saben ni escribir ni deletrear! There are many Chinese restaurants in China town but if you want more Englishised food, this is the place. There was loads to eat and the food was deliciously cooked and served quickly (without being too rushed either).

great food and very fair price for hotpot buffet in the whole of London. The stuff let you order again and again whenever you want.no kidding So ,this is perfect for us(we went there with a friend group of 4 hotpot lovers) The sauce counter is unlimited and free. What more you can ask for. I would come back again when I can meet with my friends in Chinatown.

Great dim sum factory. It’s a restaurant where you come to eat not to hang out, ultra efficient service, fair prices, dim sup and wontons good and fresh. Be careful, don't delay, it goes quickly! 😊 yep! a plus worth noting: gleaming toilets! THANKS !

We had a disappointing experience during our recent visit today. The staff member on the first floor was incredibly rude while taking our order. She seemed visibly unhappy when we made a simple request to sit up. Her behaviour turned what was meant to be a pleasant evening into a frustrating experience. Specially this a day I met my wife and we decided to go out. This restaurant has always been our family go-to spot in Chinatown whenever we’re in the area, but this visit was deeply upsetting. We were shocked by the unprofessional and discourteous attitude from the staff, especially since there was no reason to be treated this way. It’s unfortunate to see such behavior at a place we’ve frequented for years.

What a wonderful restaurant, a quiet eat in the bustling city. We had set menu E and there was so much food! We didn’t manage it all. Staff were super friendly and overall a delicious experience.

My partner has recently been diagnosed with coeliac disease and not being able to have a lot of Chinese food was a big downer, however I searched high and low in Chinatown and found some really good reviews of this restaurant offering gluten free options. We were both really happy with our experience and the food. The server was helpful with checking what dishes they were able to do gluten free and that gave us confidence. We had sweet and sour chicken, beef with broccoli (which was so good), egg fried rice and chicken vermicelli noodles (this was an alternative offered to chow mein). The portions were generous and the service was quick too. Very happy, definitely somewhere we'd visit again.

Said they catered for gluten free, and they did advise which dishes were GF, but there was a limited range of food. Got the impression the food was pre-made dishes and they did have the option to change the dishes such as using GF soy sauce, or omit or substitute ingredients like other restaurants I've been to.

Lovely food and pleasant attentive service in a fabulous location. The staff fully understood my gluten free needs as a coeliac and recommend dishes accordingly. We had GF chicken with cashew nuts, GF mixed veg fried rice, chicken in black bean sauce and sticky spare ribs. Everything was delicious and fresh. My partner particularly recommends the spare ribs, though these are not GF. The portion sizes are very generous! Highly recommend.

Buffet hot pot was lush, plenty of meat, seafood and vegetables to choose from. Good price for only £28 and the staff are very friendly! What a great experience.

Very good meals with genuine Chinese style, but not very expensive at all. The taste is unique, the service is soooo good. The staff are kind that they proposed the best. Pop in and try the three combinations of pork belly-beef and roasted duck, pair them with the seaweed and shrimp soup and you will be amazed. So satisfied! Will come back for sure.

We've been coming here almost every week for the past 2 years because of the hotpot from New China, which is very good and tastes really great. We especially like that the portion sizes are really good, not too small or too big for the hotpot side dishes that you order . I can highly recommend New China if you want to eat good and inexpensive hotpot in London.

Excellent service and excellent food made our visit to this restaurant "New China" very satisfying. The food (three courses in total) came quickly and the service was always attentive and courteous. We had a really good meal and can highly recommend this restaurant!

I go frequently to this restaurant because I like their fragrance pork intestines dish and also the waitress aunties are nice and friendly there. Their pork intestines dish sometimes change taste (salty or hard ) although the other dishes are just so so. Anyway, I prioritised my friendship with the nice waitress aunty there and kept going to eat. Today,I decided I won’t ever go again as the good waitress aunties are no longer working there. In addition , the new waitress Chinese lady seems quite rude to me , not willing to offer me a seat even ,asked for the food fees asap and acted like I am not their customer although I waited outside standing so long for my take away dish. The manager man also didn’t understand simple English even he is there for long time ago. The worst part is my pork intestines dish was wrong and instead there were pork trotter (only bones )in oily condition. If possible,I wish I won’t give one star to write a review. Bye Bye..

I went for lunch to chis restaurant. Wasn’t my first time, but this time was horrible! I had a bad food poisoning! I felt sick for 5 days! I had fever, diarrhea and vomiting!

Rien d’exceptionnel pour ce restaurant Chinois bien situé dans le Chinatown Londonien. Une carte très dense (plus de 160 plats) avec des photos pour s’en sortir plus facilement, une cuisine correcte avec des solutions végétariennes et un service sans surprises ni sourires. L’addition est vite lourde comme souvent à Londres, attention au portefeuille.

Used to be better. Took seafood vermicelli. What a joke. Vermicelli for 3 people and 2 prawns 2 slices of scallops and 3 pieces of squid. So so so bad. Also staff keep talking in their own language loud around the restaurant , so so unprofessional and annoying

We chose this one from the variety of restaurants because there were also Asian customers there. That has proven itself. Very tasty food, great variety and the portions also filled you up. Prices, well Chinatown, you take that into account. 3 people 100€

Completely unserious approach to allergy information. Their products contain peanuts, and they do not put this on the menu.

Today it was my first time at this restaurant and my experience was very good . The staff were very welcoming and polite . We order few dishes . I have to say everything was very tasty , my favourite was beef with asparagus and black pepper. Price wise I think is good for the location and the quality of the food . Not disabled kids/adults friendly. My younger sister has autism and my family took her out to eat at this restaurant for a treat. We felt the staff were judgemental and not understanding about my sister’s disability. We’ve been to this restaurant multiple times - both with and without my sister - because we enjoy the food but we felt the atmosphere was very hostile during our last visit. We will not be returning.

The food was good, the problem is that you don't understand the waiters, and the menu doesn't have photos, so I ended up ordering something that wasn't what I wanted, but it was good, the duck was very tasty

We didn't like it... the duck is served on the bone and it's not practical to cut the bone without knives... the sweat and sour chicken tastes very strange, served with a ton of barely cooked onions... the beef with oyster sauce was the best dish but the flavor was not there. Chicken spring rolls without chicken in them with cabbage…. Absolutely not good at all. It was very hot so we asked for a jug of water. If you don't buy a bottle of water, they serve you in plastic glasses and come and fill the glass after eating....In short, I recommend a Korean or Viet restaurant, but this area is too touristy.

Nice big restaurant with good outdoor seating area. The front of house guy was great at confirming the menu and acceptance of credit cards - then getting us a good table outside on a warm Friday evening. We had walked down Shaftesbury Avenue from the British Museum and the square where the restaurant sits was the first area we came to. We didn’t see anywhere that we would have swapped for as we walked through Chinatown later. We checked the menus outside a few of the restaurants before opting for this one - mainly because my vegetarian wife liked the set dinner menu, which didn’t include mock meat or mock fish (which she doesn’t like - some vegans might like it). Service was quick and efficient. Wait staff were friendly and professional. There was an amusing incident of another group’s food being taken to the wrong table - the guests were from HK and able to explain to the waitress in both English and Cantonese. The food was nice with generous portions, especially the tray of starters. Drinks (Chinese beer and fizzy water) were a bit warm. Restaurant was clean and well appointed including the bathrooms. Nice indoor areas including downstairs which wasn’t in use but ideal for larger groups. Several tables were occupied by Asian diners who were pleased with the food. Plenty of choices on the menu which included pictures. Chopsticks and bowls or Western cutlery available. Bill was reasonable for what we had, and cheaper than some other places for the set dinners.. We would go again and recommend.

Ugh. It's expensive for cuisine without originality or flavor. Don't forget the service charge French friends... we paid 44 euros for two dishes and 2 beers.

We visited late this evening & asked at the door if this restaurant was still open for customers, which it was. We were given the menus & after about 1 minute were told to hurry up as the kitchen was closing soon. Our food was tasty & plentiful but very soon after it arrived the staff started packing up the restaurant - stacking chairs on tables, bringing outdoor furniture inside, tying up bags of rubbish etc. A couple of female staff kept staring at us, willing us to hurry up. Soon the only table not stacked away was ours as we were still eating. I gave up on my food as I felt so uncomfortable & asked for the bill. There was a service charge on it, which I asked to be removed. I've never had such rude & inexcusable behaviour in a restaurant.

I ordered the special fried rice and received a dish that was slimy and had an unpleasant odor. After taking one bite, I realized it had gone bad, despite being purchased just 15 minutes prior. I am concerned about the food safety practices, as it seems the fried rice may have been sitting out for a significant period of time. This should not have been served to customers.

The service was very slow, the food was fine we had hotpot with the mushroom and tomato soup. the sea weed was not our taste, it was like biting into the ocean. the beef, pak choi and udon noodles were good. It was cold in the basement.

We visited here as many said it was celiac safe/ gluten free. We was greated by staff that had no knowledge of allergies / celiac and when asked they said yes to one thing and then no another time. This made me very uneasy. No options apart from plain rice dish in the end I would not visit again.

Food was excellent, the service was farcically awful! The staff berating one member of our party for ordering a spicy dish and another for declining to order a drink. The same member of staff missed one item from our order and then blamed us! Great entertainment, if you like that sort of thing. Despite the service we would return because the food was so good.

My man and I went yesterday on a date and it was perfect! There was a welcoming atmosphere right from when we walked in, and the staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. We got the hotpot buffet and it truly was a buffet, we left stuffed and satisfied! The food was delicious, the sauces were amazing, and for £30pp it was well worth it. We sat outside since it was a warm day and it was great seeing some of the lanterns of Chinatown from our table. People kept looking and asking us what we’d ordered because it looked and smelled so amazing! The hotpot experience is also so fun and interactive, definitely go with someone or in a group. I highly recommend, we will be coming back to try more of the menu for sure!

Eating the buffet hot pot plus a 10% service charge costs about £33 per person, excluding drinks and no euros. Ordered spicy mandarin duck pot. The soup base includes spicy, tomato and mushroom, pepper pork belly chicken, etc. The spicy soup is very spicy. If you don't like it too spicy, you may want to make it less spicy. The pepper pork belly chicken feels that the pork belly has not been processed well and is very fishy. It is recommended to order something else. There are three types of meat: mutton, beef, and pork. Mutton should be restructured meat products. Beef is beef belly. Pork is pork belly. Currently, all-you-can-eat mutton is probably restructured meat products. Meat (restructured meat products). I like their chrysanthemum, the meatballs are of average quality. It is recommended not to order too much, and add more if you like it. The service attitude of the service staff is good.

The food was good, however they advertised the student discount improperly and the service was lacking. We went to this restaurant because of a poster that said you could get 12% student discount. We ordered hotpot, but when we wanted to pay, we were told that hotpot doesn’t count for the discount and that student discount is only available if you pay in cash. This wouldn’t been a problem if it was properly said towards us when ordering or if it was on the posters or menu’s. Very disappointing. Also, the quality of service differed a lot. Some of them said nothing and came off as rude and some stared at us, pressuring to leave, but others were kind.

Although the portions are adequate, the food is mediocre. They charge more than £3 for service per diner, although they don't specify it. They also offer you rice as an “accompaniment” to a main dish and end up charging it at £4.50. When we complained, they told us we would have returned it. Quite unfortunate service. 3 people £83. Even though the servings are big, the food is pretty mediocre. They charge over £3 per person for cover even though it’s not specified anywhere. They offer you rice as a side for a main course and end up charging £4.50 for it. When we complained about it, they told us we should've sent it back. The food was good, but when making the payment there was an error with the card, when making the second attempt to pay the waiter took the card to try to make the payment, when this happens the man took out the bill and wrote down the CVV of the card, and to top it off the invoice had the complete information of the card number, he kept this invoice and gave us a copy. Very suspicious.... we should have blocked the card immediately.

Growing up in China and visiting from US and have sampled Chinese food all around the world. The hostess at the door claimed their Mapo Tofu was very authentic. After tasting it, I would not endorse that characterization. My assessment was that their food is above average and I have tasted better (more authentic) Chinese food in London China town. Service was about average. There was a fly hovering over our dishes too.

Food was average and too oily, with the oil tasting not very fresh. Prices were high for the quality of the food. On a positive note, the tea was quite good, and the location in China Town is a big plus.

Forced to pay 12.5% gratuity. We want to review our bill but staff hastily push us to pay.

This is a very good restaurant. They serve a wide variety of dishes, from all over China, to a very high standard. There are many things that I have never tried before & I will have to return to sample more of them. Delicious! Some decent wine on offer too. Staff were friendly and attentive and I thank them for that. If you're in the area, don't miss out on the chance to dine here. Top place to eat!

Really disgusting food with no taste... the only thing that could be smelled was oil and the highlight was when we wanted takeaway food, they brought us a box so we could put it in ourselves and they also charged 3.80 for services when they don't even put the food in the box. ...I recommend avoiding the arc

We had the Cantonese Duck and the Chicken Curry. The curry was very spicy for me, but that's not the point, it needed some flavor. The duck was a pure disappointment, the portion was very small and the meat was full of tendons and bones. In addition, we had to order extra rice for both dishes because this was not included. The staff was friendly, but this does not excuse this.
