On Saturday in Chinatown, everywhere is busy including this restaurant, the service did feel rushed, we were pushed into the smaller upstairs room, staff were friendly enough with us, however the server dropped food on the stairs, the food was binned and fresh provide to the table, the food was good, what you'd expect, presentation was standard.

Been going to this place since the 90s. I.love the roast duck noodle soup. This time round ordered the same again but off the bone duck and it wasn't the same as the ones hanging by the window instead the cheap.frozen duck fillet breast I got. How disappointing 😒

Solid food, good Cantonese meats and really friendly service

Had been here, once before, with a friend. Decided to come back before Theatre trip (Moulin Rouge) ... excellent fun! Made unwelcome as I was solo. My pronunciations, not being Chinese, were deliberately mocked (like being back at School) Obviously wanted me gone. Before I'd finished meal the bill was slammed down on my table. Would never, ever, visit again. Medicore food and damned expensive for what turned up. Frighteningly basic toilet facilities.

I recommend it! Very tasty. I especially liked the duck with vegetables! We asked for a place inside the restaurant, it is quiet and calm there!

Very accommodating to the younger members of our party, making a dish plainer for them. Often meals for children aren't given the same care and attention as adult food, but here I have to say the meals served to our kids looked more appetising than ours, with plenty of flourishes. All of the meals were delicious and were served quickly.

Was slightly put off by the previous reviews, but was not prepared to pay the ripoff prices of other restaurants in Soho. The food we had was excellent and plentiful. Had really friendly, attentive service and did not feel rushed at all. No complaints, good food at a very reasonable price.

Poor service. Staff was rude. Billied us for tip forcefully and when we denied to pay it he behaved rudely in front of all the customers sitting there. Even not happy to give 1 star.

Awful experience We found flies in the food And they also forced us to pay the gratuity tip. Upon saying no, they acted rude with us infornt of other customers. Very humiliating. Terrible place to go to.

The atmosphere is rather charming, the Cantonese rice is EXCELLENT! The drinks are VERY cold

Went here one afternoon with my wife. It was the worst dimsum we’ve ever eaten. It has a hygiene rating of four but we saw a waitress picking her nose with quite some determination and handling “clean” cutlery and dishware at the same time. Disgusting. Their service was decent and we sat outside so the atmosphere wasn’t bad, but the food…dear lord. The fact that there were barely any Chinese customers was a red flag we should have paid closer heed to. It was also far more expensive than it was worth.

The food was simply uneatable. Don’t ever go there. Worse food I ever had, zero quality.

In the middle of Chinatown, large place with a terrace and several floors. Options for small and large groups. Very varied menu, generous portions at affordable prices, they serve quickly and they brought the order also quickly. Also, one person in the group was allergic to nuts and they helped us a lot when choosing options without them. To make a difference, they took away our plates and cleared the table in too much of a hurry as well.

Good food, spicy flavors. The place is cramped and could use a little refreshing. The service was nice, but the problem is that the dishes do not arrive at the same time - when one person eats, the other only gets their food.

Dry Beef ho fun noodles a must try don’t miss out on that, the beef was very tender and the texture of noodles was so satisfying! We also had the prawn dumplings , choy sum and Szechwan shrimp.

Missed orders and still didn't get it right after a second follow-up. Gratuity was added to the bill without informing the customer. Food quality is meh. Don't eat here; there are better spots in the area.

The more I eat at any authentic chinese restaurant/spot, the more I start disliking it. But, for this place I would just describe the food as bland. It’s good if you are too hungry/starving as they will serve everything hot within 10mins.

I would give it a 3.5 The service was good, they served quickly and as for the food, some dishes were not great like the pork with rice. But the noodles we ordered and the soup were good. The price is good for London, you eat well for a reasonable price.

Disgusting food. Rice with pork placed with the hand and reheated in the microwave. In Albacete I have tried better Chinese.

Food is good but there's a cover charge or minimum order which they don't specify while you enter the restaurant, which is an unfair practice and confuses people.

Terribly bad food - tasteless and not hygienic. My daughter was really sick the whole evening and had a stomach ache. The waiter didn't address the complaint, he seemed used to it.

Food was tasteless. Lacked flavour. Very keen to rush you out of the restaurant, to get the next guests in. Unfortunately we were also sat next to the chap chopping the duck, was constant loud banging

It was a nice experience for us. Food was unarguably the best. It was mouthwatering. Large portions. As a person who has tried authentic Chinese cuisine, I can vouch for this. Staff could improve their attitude but other than that, the food was great. Can't comment on other reviews but I would visit here again.

My first time to visit Canton since the lockdown and I was glad to find the same quality. I had seafood fried noodle which was plentiful and delicious. I was surprised that they charged 15% for service - I think it should be 12.5% for this kind of casual eatery. The staff who served me were all pleasant but some others talked loudly on the floor.

We saw the reviews and weren't sure, but it looked busy and reasonably priced, so gave it a go. No regrets. Food was delicious, service prompt but not overbearing. We had a 1/4 duck shredded at the table, nice cold beers, super hot (as in temperature) beef ho fun noodles. All excellent. I'm sure like anywhere it has off days.. but today was not one

Terrible, terrible, the good is cold, not authentic and bad quality. The restaurant is since 1955, the dood is too. The porkbelly was disgusting, the kingprawn noodles were cold and not much flavour. People in the uk are superfriendly but NOT in this restaurant. Very unfriendly and rude. Do not make the Same misstake as we did. Do not eat there, it is a waist of your money and your belly.

I can't recommend this place. The food was acceptable, but it was easy overpriced for the portion size. All of us were still hungry after ordering 8 dishes if food. The service was lacking. We asked for tap water but the easier NEVER brought it to us. Way, way, way, overpriced. My suggestion is to try one of the restaurants that are, likely better, that are not in the touristy main part of chinatown.

This pub is a disaster. Food fried in old oil. Tasteless dumplings. Prices like in the best restaurants. Avoid it, I advise against it with all my heart!

Brought family there for the late afternoon lunch after shopping and I had placed an order of one Singapore vermicelli and two House special fried noodle with mixed meat. The server that took the order was quite blunt when I specified the difference between vermicelli and noodle. When our food came , I argued about the House special was not Noodles but vermicelli, the server was quite confused but pretty sure playing the ignorance about not knowing what was the difference between noodle and vermicelli. I was not happy with the way we were being treated. We all have been in the past dinning at this restaurant, and this is the first time that staff and advertising one thing on their menu but serving customers the something else. I would not recommend eating out at this restaurant as this is a rip off, as they are selling rice vermicelli for noodle that is made out of flour.

The food was ok but they rushed us to finish, asked us to leave because someone else booked the sit and made us pay without asking if we wanted a coffee or something else. They even try to take away unfinished beer. Strongly unprofessional and unpleasant experience. Don't go here.

Wrong dish was brought out, but I didnt want to risk returning it. Staff attitude unpleasant and the restaurant smelt of drains. Better options nearby.

Food was completely tasteless and overpriced. It looked lovely when it arrived, however everything was completely tasteless. We also ordered egg fried rice which arrived a good 5 minutes after the main dishes, meaning they were left to go cold. The rice was plain boiled rice, completely over boiled with a couple of chunks of egg. So disappointing. We paid £55 and what a complete waste of money it was. Service was ok for the most part but nothing to write home about.

The place was not busy but the waitress plonked down my main course whilst I was in the middle of my soup. The wonton soup was ok, not good or bad. The beef with crispy noodles was poor with tough beef and tasteless source. This was the first Chinese I ever visited in London back in the 80s but today it is easy to find better.

Actually crazy that this place is considered 3 stars. A tear rolled down my cheek as i watched an employee thwack some pork on top of plain white rice then pop it in the microwave. Actually insane that our bill for a small meal came to £50 for such poor quality food. Low-key shut this place down.

Good for eating loudly and the food is plentiful.

There are close to no vegetarian/vegan options (2 starters, 1 mains and a few specials on a menu with more than 60 items!) and there isn't anything to write home about. Service is alright but quite aggressive around taking plates and giving the bill, most likely to maximise table usage in such a busy place in London. The food ranks from average to bad (especially the dim sums, stay away from them).

The food was OK, but the service was terrible. They started clearing the table while we were still eating and we didn't even finish our drinks before we were kicked out. And we hadn't spent that much time either deciding or eating. They claimed there were people waiting for the table but this was a lie. There was plenty of space and no queues. And the waiter was rude and unprofessional. In addition, the food was expensive. All in all, a rather unpleasant experience.

Canton in London’s vibrant Chinatown and was thoroughly impressed. The stewed beef brisket with spring onions and pulled noodles was a standout dish, offering a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. The rest of the menu also impressed with its authenticity and taste. Definitely a must-visit for an exquisite Chinese culinary experience in the heart of London.

The order came quick..but that was the problem really...everything was rushed..immediately after taking the plates, they brought the bill, someone else immediately took the payment..we felt like we were being kicked out..I ordered a tea which was quite a bit.. didn't finish it as I got quite pissed about the rush and left..won't be going back..the food was alright but I've had better..overall, not the best experience..

It is a restaurant in which the service is too bad. The food is bad and they throw the food at you like you were a dog. the waitresses yell at you! Never enter this restaurant.

Debería ser un puesto solo para llevar, ya que por probar un plato nos dijeron para llevar, al final terminamos con 3 platos para llevar, estuvimos probando en la zona de afuera, su terraza se podría decir, pero nos dijeron que no podíamos, realmente un servido muy malo, aún que la comida esté de 3 estrellas, no pienso en volver.

La nourriture n’était pas au top très honnêtement… et le service encore moins. C’était fade et il y a pas le goût original des plats chinois. Dans le riz au poulet , le poulet n’était même pas assez cuit et en ce qui concerne les porks ribs , la sauce n’était pas bonne..

A no go. Service was good. But the food were absolutely taste less NEVER AGAIN. and flavour less. Thoroughly disappointed. And on top they had the cheek to add £4 as gratuity. Not sure for what. Food was abysmal.

This place has pretty good food, pretty large portions and quick service. Not a fine dining experience, more like a step up from fast food. Drinks are in cans and bottles, cutlery and crockery are basic, napkins are paper, staff not in uniforms, older less maintained building etc. Clean enough though. Apart from the mixed starter being £10 per person and in my opinion nowhere near that value, prices were very reasonable and reflected what we got and the place we were in. Would definitely eat here again.

Chinatown was very busy and this was one of few restaurants we could get a seat quickly and the service was speedy. The food was good and our only criticism is that it was not clear 10% service would be added to the bill. We will certainly eat here again

If I could leave zero stars I would. Ordered a plate of chicken and fried rice both tasted terrible. The service was almost non existent and was charged 77 pounds including their absurd 20% service fee. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and go to the dim sum place next door.

Enjoyed the won ton and satay chicken, service was good will be back again.

Came here with my friends on Sunday, very disappointed with the service we received. We were seated quite quickly which was good but the praise ends here, unfortunately. We were a group of five, three of us ordered meals and the remaining two ordered the Chinese tea. However, we were met with incredible contempt. The waitress who was taking our order seemed very impatient, gave us attitude and made us feel stupid when inquiring about certain ingredients and allergens within the menu. Worst of all, she told us that we were taking up space in the restaurant just because two out of five of us did not decide to order any food. I understand not wanting people to loiter, especially during busy hours when people need the tables, however we were told that they urgently needed the table, but it was late in the evening and service seemed slow, nobody was entering the restaurant or being seated when we were leaving. Plus, the fact that every one of us ordered drinks should have been enough to justify our places at the table, it wasn’t as if we were seated without having ordered anything. The tea my friends ordered was served in a teapot and was hot, so it would have taken time for them to finish it. We were essentially kicked out, promptly ushered out of the restaurant with very little care, not even being given the opportunity to finish the drinks that we paid for. I doubt that many people perusing that area of Chinatown look at reviews before entering a restaurant, but if anyone considering this spot is reading this, based on purely the service alone I do not recommend it at all. I have no opinions on the food seeing as we didn’t even get to eat anything, but judging by many other reviews of this restaurant, it’s best you find another place to eat.

staff did not care to make us feel welcome; the dish i got served was not what i asked for, prawn dumplings tasted bad, the sauce that came with the spring rolls seemed to have expired?? never got the water i asked for. complaining, however, led to nothing as i didnt even get an apology- the staff just did not care at all. do not recommend.

We went on a freezing night in November after a few beers. Enjoyed the food and was quite authentic, me having lived in China for quite a while.

Strongly do not recommend. The service and attitude were so bad and rude. My order was taken away and the waiters asked me to wait outside of the restaurant even though I was staying in the waiting area(seats for waiting). Their take out bag was so sweaty and oily, I told them and they gave me a new bag. But there’s no tableware in the bag. The food is also cold and not fresh at all. So what? Take away doesn’t deserve warm food and can’t even sit in your restaurant? There’s so many good delicious Chinese restaurants but not this one. I’ll recommend The Eight (Chinatown), which is almost the same price but much more delicious, traditional Chinese flavour and attitude are good.

The gentleman and another young lady at the entrance provided good service. However, the tall, long-haired woman who took our order, aged around 40-55, was exceptionally impolite and rude. Very disappointing experience. Not recommended for others to visit.

Firstly I like to clarify this restaurant used to be good and I was a regular but unfortunately it has gone downhill. I found the service on the top floor really aggressive by the woman in her 40s. The food was full of additives which made me a bit dizzy afterwards. And the price was too expensive for what it was. I will not come back here again. Avoid there are better places in soho.

Great place to eat proper chinese food in Chinatown. I am a very big fan of hot&sour soup and they provide a delicious one. Also I recommend dim sum (plenty of options), crispy duck with noodles and a lot of vegetables. Fast service, friendly staff and great location right next to Leicester Square. Will come again for sure

The service was nice and quick but the food was not impressive to me. The dimsum was a bit overcooked and not much special, nothing stands out. The chicken claws in bean sauce was plain.

Bad atended I just don’t like that much so I think it’s a little scam and the prices didn’t cheap but a bit good . Just a little more clean and a 3 ✰

Food average, service crew horrible and the menu without side dish is really stupid.

I am a vegetarian and I clearly ordered vegetable gyoza. Instead they gave me chicken dumplings which I unknowly ate thinking that they were the dumplings I had ordered. The waiter had clearly heard me as she repeated my order back to me. I only found out at the end when they brought back the bill which stated on the receipt that i had ordered chicken when i had in fact not. The staff did not inform us or make us aware of any changes to the menu concerning the vegetable dumplings and there was no indication that our order had been changed. As a vegetarian I have deliberately made the decision to stop consuming meat and due to this error that the canton kitchen staff have made, my personal morals and decision to stop eating meat has been violated.

In Chinatown with literally dozens of restaurants, how do you chose one? My decision was to look for one with roasted ducks hanging in the window. Canton may not have the best food in Chinatown, but it sure worked for a quick lunch. Our waiter informed us there were two types of duck on the menu: a crispy duck served with hoisin sauce and pancakes: and the simple chopped roasted duck in the window/ Our 1/4 duck roast duck was a delicious choice. My sweetheart ordered a nostalgic choice of 'shrimp toast' that she hadn't seen on a menu for years. It was a blast from the past in a restaurant that has been here since 1955. Our 'fried rice' was bland and tasteless but worked well to absorb the sauce from the duck. A plate of 'fried chicken with vegetables' turned out to be a stir fried dish in a brown sauce. Not bad, but unexciting. Canton hit the right buttons for a quick lunch in London's Chinatown for us.
