Such a friendly place to eat, we chose to sit outside as we had our dog with us and they were happy to accommodate her including supplying water for her. They were very helpful explaining the menu and the fact that outside guests were required to pay once they had ordered. The best part was the portion and quality of the food that arrived, amazing. We will definitely be good back . Would recommend the meat and seafood noodle soup

Before I get into it, I just want to say I’ve been here numerous times, and the experience is always the same. I’ll explain why, but despite everything, I keep coming back because I do love the food… just not all the time. Every time I head to London’s Chinatown and I’m hungry and craving Chinese food, this is the place I end up at. But honestly, the staff always seem moody. I get it, the area is constantly packed, and they probably don’t get much rest. Their work ethic must be through the roof. Still, I’ve never once seen a smile in all my visits. When being seated, they’ll just say “here” and point to the table. No warmth, no friendliness, just a straight-up “here” 😂. Ordering used to be tough when I first started coming, but once I saw 'Black Bean Sauce Hor Fun' on the menu, I knew I had to get it. I’d only had it once before somewhere else and was excited to try it again. The ordering process itself was fine, no one was rude, but it felt super rushed, like the server had to sprint off immediately. Funny thing is, after taking our order, I’d see them just standing around by the entrance. I ordered a Fanta (or maybe a Tango), but man, the prices here are steep. Between the food and drinks, it really starts to feel like a tourist trap, which makes sense since it’s smack dab in the middle of Chinatown. When the food came out, it was piping hot, but it didn’t taste the same as it had on previous visits. That kind of inconsistency is disappointing, especially when you’re really looking forward to a dish. This time around, the meal was just average, nothing special, which was a letdown. Paying was honestly the most entertaining part. The waiter suddenly put on a high-pitched voice to say “thank you,” which was probably the happiest-sounding moment of the whole visit, still no smile though, which made it kind of hilariously robotic. No emotion whatsoever. Would I recommend this place? Honestly… no. The food and drinks are overpriced, the service is cold and unwelcoming, and the food quality is inconsistent. Plus, being right in the center of Chinatown means it’s always loud and chaotic. You’re probably better off trying somewhere else.

The roast duck has good flavours and a lot cheaper for half/whole duck than others on this main street.

LOOKING FOR BEST SOUP DUMPLINGS---YOU FOUND THEM HERE!!!!!Every time we come to London we try to make it to Chinatown and the Lotus Garden to enjoy their amazing Dim Sum and especially our favorite Shanghai style pork dumplings (soup dumplings) as they are SO SO GOOD. If you are lucky and can make it here between 12pm-4pm you will have a jaw dropping assortment of 60 different dum sum to choose from--we were a bit too late this time around but had a grand time sitting on the 1st floor overlooking chinatown and people watching while enjoying an assortment of dim sum including our favorite soup dumplings along with the bbq pork and prawn and chives. Should be your GO TO place when in London. Special Shout out to TUE our server who was AMAZING!!!!!

Went for lunch, although we were seated quickly we waited a bit for order to be taken. Ordered diced duck fried rice with fish sauce, very flavorful. Customers were a little loud for my liking. I would go back for the food.

The first cost was Chinese cuisine. My friend - an acquaintance knows herself in this kitchen. Seeing that there were quite a lot of people in the establishment, they decided to try it. I succeeded. I ordered noodles with crab meat. To be honest, the scale has been meat for quite some time. It was delicious, a large portion. A friend ordered noodles with seafood - delicious. The atmosphere is pleasant, the music made it possible to communicate. The waiters are friendly, the service is quite fast. The prices were pleasantly surprising. You can visit again.

Hot Pot dishes were awful according to price and portion size

There is pressure to make you choose your food right away! And the explanation, due to the communication, is more or less! I ordered a super spicy dish, I was upset because I left it almost whole! Impossible to follow! As soon as they serve you the dish, they come with the machine to charge you! I found it very rude!

One star is too much. Duck wasn't eatable at all, full with bones and fat, fully send back. Worse experience with arrogant, unfriendly service. The bill was brought without even asking, basicaly kicking out the customer. If 10% tip wasn't incounted, we wouldn't give any.

Even though the staff is very efficient, they remain very discreet. And the hardest part is choosing. No bad surprises. The dishes are generous and incredibly delicious. All as good as each other. We had a blast!!!

La peor experiencia gastronómica en Londres. Descortés y desinteresado cuando entramos. El hombre de la recepción ni siquiera podía decir hola, solo “cuántos” nos pasaron una multa sin siquiera mirarnos y apuntar hacia las escaleras. El piso y las paredes están sucios, no hay agua caliente en los baños de hombres (por lo que todos en el restaurante que necesitan usar el inodoro no se lavan las manos correctamente) la comida era sosa y cuando pedimos que se eliminara el cargo del 10 % por servicio de la factura, nos dijeron que teníamos que pagarlo y la administración ahora quiere saber por qué estamos pidiendo esto. Pedimos 7 u 8 veces que esto se quitara, el camarero argumental no tenía intención de quitarse esto y simplemente siguió diciendo lo mismo una y otra vez. Tuvimos que pagarlo porque está incluido y no es opcional ya que el camarero señaló el menú. Nos dijeron que tuvimos suerte de que era solo el 10%, ya que muchos otros restaurantes cobran el 15%. Evite como la peste... que han sido advertidos! Pensé que Chinatown iba a ser una buena experiencia... ¡esto NO lo fue!

I am not sure but I think any chinesse restaurant in Chinatown is very similar in quality, prices and customer service. we tried noodles, boiled rice, chicken sweet and sour and duck. It was good not great, it was just the experience for eating here.

Ordered stir fried vegetables. Got a starter sized plate of luke warm oily poor veggies for which I paid around 15 pounds. Never again. I‘m afraid of getting sick.

Some dishes were good. Some were just average. Shocking that a hair was presented with Woo kok (yam dimsum)! You would have thought they would have seen and removed it. The waiter appeared reluctant to work. Brightened up when he saw the tips. That was only because we felt sorry for their low wages.

Quiet atmosphere that helps you take a break from the hustle and bustle of the street with so many people. Food like you could find in any other Chinese restaurant, good and correct quantity. Price appropriate for the area.

For goodness sake. Chicken with lemon is ultimately a Milanese cutlet. All with little flavor and quite expensive. Duck with pancakes (5 contacts), we ask for a few more and we find it on the bill. Avoid! There is certainly something better

After a rainy day in London, the fine shrimp corn soup and the DimSum starter platter were just the thing to warm your stomach. The ambience is so-so, the service mediocre but the food was good.

We had the opportunity to eat here, 6 people, to try the Peking duck and the Cantonese duck, the food was good, the price was excessive but I understand that the area is expensive. The attention was quite lax, they were neither very friendly nor helpful.

Food hygiene rating is 3 and that was last reviewed in 2023!! It’s shows, food was mediocre and service was the same. We were a party of 4 and all of us ending up severely ill after eating here, as well as a fifth person who ate our leftovers the same evening!!! I’ve never been so ill from food poisoning. Should have known as the hygiene is horrible, bathrooms are filthy and dirty dishes are left in boxes by the bathroom throughout the day. Do not eat here if you want to avoid being sick!!!!

very unpleasant service. we visited chinatown coming from texas, with a friend familiar with london. our server seemed irritated off the bat when we ordered. our other friend ordered a special but as ordering she asked what it was and he mumbled a slightly annoyed response. we all received our meals separately but our friend waited over 20 minutes for hers. we had to ask the server and he did apologize but we waited another 15 minutes for her food. when it was time to pay we asked to split the check. one friend tried paying with £20 pound for a £13.50 meal he argued with us that it was over and it was old whilst murmuring obviously upset. we intended the rest be a tip including a 10% service charge. we felt obviously unwelcome at that point and just left as soon as we finished paying.

food was ok, the menu is completely mislabelled for allergens, so don't go here if you are allergic to anything.

I have a mild nut allergy usually not worth telling servers about as menus typically have allergen warnings and it is not so severe that traces will make me sick. This restaurant had a key on the menu to indicate whether dishes were spicy, had nuts in etc. so I picked dishes accordingly and picked none with the nut symbol by them. I ordered some mixed meat and shrimp dumplings. These DID NOT have the nut allergen symbol next to them however they were packed full of peanuts, once I realised I stopped eating them but I still had a mild allergic reaction which made me uncomfortable for the rest of my day. When we looked again at the menu there were other dishes that contained peanuts in the dish name that didn’t include allergen warnings. One of the servers was very kind and asked if I needed anything as I was clearly having an allergic reaction and he came back to check on me a few times. His manager however was not as kind and tried to blame me for not bringing my allergy to the attention of the staff (they did not ask when I ordered, which most places do) whilst I accept i perhaps should’ve I saw the key on the menu that indicated what dishes had nuts in and thought it would be trustworthy- it was not. If you have allergies do not go to this restaurant and especially do not trust the menu key to indicate anything to you. When I tried to tell them their menu was wrong they admitted the whole menu was incorrectly labelled but doubled down that it was my fault I hadn’t informed them. Perhaps this was my fault I didn’t inform them but I have never had an issue with not informing restaurants before because the allergen keys were trustworthy.

Visiting from Vancouver, Canada 🇨🇦 and decided to have dinner here as most other places were packed or had long line ups. The bbq pork and roast pork was yummy. The beef brisket noodles was good too. Chili oil is a must!! Service was a bit slow but they were pretty busy. Prices were decent, but expensive for us, Canadians. Overall, it was enjoyable with good food and decent service.

Food that tastes burnt and overheated, large dishes but with an unoriginal flavor. In general the restaurant looks dirty, and if you go to the bathroom the products are within reach of all the public. I don't recommend it if you want a good Chinese restaurant, the name is not everything. Finally, there was feces on the walls of the bathroom. Eschatological and not to be repeated.

We arrived mains came out before the appetisers, chicken sweet corn soup was clearly microwaved hot in some places cold in others. sweet and sour chicken again lukewarm. Order beef brisket was so cold we asked them to send back, they made a new one which was hot, however left my friend eating on his own. Also came with the minimal amount of beef and overloaded with noodles. Staff were treating us like dumb tourist yet charging tourist prices. If you want authentic Chinese don’t come here, it’s cheap food, cheap service and you leave feeling like you have paid for absolute rubbish. I hope these guys can pick up their game as this restaurant won’t last with this type of treatment to its customers.

Me and my family went to visit London, and we came across this restaurant. Looked like a normal restaurant, so we expected 30min waits. But to our surprise, no! When we ordered our food by amazing staff, we got our food that was an approximately 5-10min wait! Even though the restaurant was packed and full of people. Leaving me absolutely speechless! The food was amazing, and we were able to finish it all, with just a few leftovers. The food was yummy and mouthwatering leaving my stomach full and full of awesome food. The atmosphere was not as pleasant, but everything was clean. But it was quite cluttered around us. But the table we sitting on was fine, nothing wrong with it. This restaurant is 5/5 for me, nothing wrong, no complaints to give. Lovely staff and once again, lovely food.

Popped in between shows, got a table pretty quickly, after only a short wait. We were seated upstairs. Service was quick, and food was delicious. Exactly what we had hoped for. We both decided to have the China tea with dinner, and that was so delicate it was beautiful.

Trap for tourists😅 The food is way too expensive in terms of value for money. Apart from that, the staff is rather unfriendly (you are basically pushed out of the restaurant after eating) and the hygienic conditions are a catastrophe: dirt and mold in the corridors, treop areas and dining areas. Additionally, the toilets look like they haven't been cleaned in years. I can't say whether the condition of the kitchen is the same. Unfortunately not recommended.

A group of four of us went here for an early dinner. Upon being led upstairs, it became clear specific clientele are seated downstairs, in view of the public, everyone else is upstairs. Ordered food and it was genuinely stone cold. Not an exaggeration because I was unhappy it wasn't as warm as I'd like, no - this food was genuinely not warm at all. It was like it came out the freezer, put in the microwave to defrost but without actually warming up. Avoid this place, they don't care about customers they'll only ever see once.

I recently ordered a meal consisting of roasted duck, stir-fried kai-lan, salt and chilli soft shell crabs and fried rice. Unfortunately, my experience was a bit underwhelming. The stir-fried kai-lan was disappointing, particularly because the stalks were hard and chewy, which made it difficult to enjoy the dish. The salt and chilli soft shell crabs were flavorful but lacked the crispiness I was hoping for. I was expecting at least warm food, but everything was served cold, except for the Chinese tea, which was the only thing that came out hot. Overall, while the flavors were decent, the lack of crunch in the crabs and the cold food left much to be desired. I hope these issues are addressed for a better dining experience next time.

Approximately £40-50 per person (with 12% service charge) The food tastes okay, the shrimp dumplings are not authentic, but overall they are delicious! Fish-flavored eggplant stew is very delicious🤤 The reason for giving it four points is that the dishes are all very salty on average, and the more you eat, the thirstier you become 😂 I think the most recommended place for this place is that you don’t have to wait very much, and the restaurant has quite a few seats! Go there on Friday night and you'll be seated immediately👍🏽 (vegetarian options available)

Great food, fast service, will definitely comeback to try other dishes! Came on a Friday night and was lucky the wait for a table was only a few minutes. Was heading to the theater so ordered kung pow chicken and grilled pork dumplings. Both dishes were delicious and the pork in the dumplings was phenomenal. May have been some of the best dumplings I’ve had. Waiter was polite and fast. Could be they wanted to serve as many hungry customers as possible but it helped in my case. Can’t wait to come back! There is a service change auto added and a min person spend of ten pounds stated at the bottom of the menu. I think I paid 34 for everything 14 for dish 7 for appetizer 6 in drinks

We first ate here in 1978. Everytime we come to the Theatre we always dine at this restaurant. We came here yesterday after watching Jersey Boys. Food was as delicious as ever and the service was great. There were lots of Chinese people dining there too, which is always a good sign and proves it's authenticity. Can't wait to come again.

What possessed us to go to this store? After I saw the disgusting menus, we should have gotten up and left immediately. Unfriendliness is very important here. The food is completely bland. Starters and main course came at the same time. Since people live here exclusively from walk-in customers, customer satisfaction is of secondary importance.

Fair prices, food not that tasty and very few meat in pork fried noodles I ordered

The dining experience was notably lacking in authenticity. The food arrived promptly, but its freshness was questionable. The staff’s demeanor was amiable, however. The meat fillings in the buns and rolls were of poor quality, leaving one of us feeling unwell after our brunch.

Food was bland, lacking flavour and overly greasy, the egg fried rice tasted like it was fried in very old oil. Probably the worst Chinese I've ever eaten.

The service and the welcome is really, I personally did not find the food exceptional the breading was not good and the sauce very minimalist, I still give 4 stars because I did not taste all the menu 😂

The service and the ambience are loveless. The food just average. In Chinatown I expect more from the food, the service and the ambience. We weren't convinced.

Setvice was bad and you're met by impolite servers, yet they tack on a 10% service fee that's not optional. The atmosphere is not very nice either. The duck and pork was alright, but I've had way better, so overall not a good experience.

I had kung po lamb and egg fried rice. It was excellent. Lamb was so tender. Egg fried rice was perfect. Lovely jasmine tea as well.

Worse Service EVER! Went there on the 21/9 at the evening, were a group of 7. Two of us ordered a shared dish for two as the rest of us ordered a dish of our own, the waiter took out the the shared dish first, the rest of us was waiting for our food for almost 20 minuts before the waiter came back and we asked him where the rest of our food was and he looked at the table and realized that the food that i order was mixed with the shared dish, I told him that his collegue just set everything on the table without informing us which dish was the singel ones and that there are two dishes missing. When paying I told them that I refused to pay the entire bill but the waiter would not care and told us just to pay. He did not appologized at all, weill never come back to this place.

The worst Chinese meal experience I've ever had. The food was average to say the least and the abysmal service made it even worse. The most shocking part was walking through the filthy kitchen area to reach the toilets. It was a health hazard. DO NOT COME HERE!

El rollo de primavera frito vietnamita también es bueno. También lo es el pato asado (sin necesidad de arroz o fideos si se pide el arroz glutinoso envuelto en loto. Alrededor de 3 por persona. Añade un fideo frito si tienes adolescentes. Todos los platos de verduras en el restaurante chino tienen un precio bastante alto, para compartir, no uno por persona! ¿El secreto? En el primer piso. Cuando hace calor el primer piso es aire acondicionado. Es más tranquilo, y usted encontrará los chinos, asiáticos del este / mar y londinenses y sus familias allí. Durante las festividades lunares la danza del León se ve mejor desde el primer piso. Es anticuado, pero el precio también es más asequible que en otros lugares. Siempre he encontrado al personal diligente y agradable. La comida ha sido particularmente buena en los últimos dos meses. I still remember how good the chicken feet thai style here and others dim sums. I came here every weekend when I lived in LD back then. The services are not that bad for my expectation.

The beef with noodles is tasteless, the Peking duck is terrible, the taste is 3, and the quantity is an obvious deception, we ordered half a duck, they brought 150 grams, it was not even a quarter... of everything we ordered, only mango pudding and tea were tasty .

Bought some roast pork,roast duck and BBQ pork take away. My husband’s comment is the best BBQ pork he had all time. We have been living in Scotland, England, Hong Kong, NZ and Australia, always buy HK style BBQ, this is the best! Amazing!

Dim Sum is above average. The fried turnip is good, and the bao are fluffy and nice. We ordered congee as well, and it was OK. Atmosphere is typical of Chinatown, full with sounds and vibrancy. Space is small ... of course, this is London ! Overall, I would come back as it is value for money.

Food was ok but nothing special. Service was hard to understand and a bit harsh - as it was very crowded we were at the 3rd floor not really a nice atmosphere

Bland food and not great service. I can forgive poor service if the food is good but this was probably some of the least tasty Chinese food I’ve had in a long time. To call it mediocre would be high praise indeed.

Los camareros son agradables y amables, los platos tradicionales chinos y dim sum son excelentes! El precio era bastante bueno también.

To be honest I couldn't try the food, but the attitude I saw from the staff to the people was absolutely DISGUSTING!! So the situation: I just sit down on one of the outside tables and was looking at the menu. On the table next to me there was a single gentleman just finished his food (Obviously finished as he put his napkin on the top of the leftover in the plate). A random guy (looking as a homeless) pass by and went to the gentleman they had a few words that I couldn't really hear but the guy took the plate and removed the napkin from it then the Gentleman clearly said of course, enjoy much better then being wasted. Also he pass him his other plate that was wirh some leftover rice. The guy started eating fast, it was obvious he is hungry!!! The gentleman even invented him to sit and eat sitting on the table but the guy continue staying on the side. In a moment the gentleman collected his things and walked away.only then the guy sited himself and continued enjoying the meal....sadly not for long as few of the staff members came out, one of them went straight to the guy and try to took the plate away the guy jumped and got the plate in his hands trying to eat as much as possible before they took it. So there was pulling, pushing and shouting around. The scene finished when the member of the staff finally managed to get to the plate and spilled all the food on the top of the guy!!! I found this situation absolutely awful!! Don't see any humanity there! So the food went all over the street (very curious if somone had cleaned it at all or it just left there till the birds eat it) but the poor hungry homeless person is not allowed to have it!!! Sorry but the place is not fancy at all, don't see a problem especially after the food was given away with pleasure and good intentions! Food looked good but I wouldn't eat in a place with that kind of hospitality and humanity!!!!!

The food and service was definitely great at Lotus Garden when I was in Chinatown. They have a wide variety of dishes that are worth trying. There is a choice for everyone. From meat enjoyers to vegetarians and vegans. They also have a specific menu for their dim sum which runs until around 9 I believe. The atmosphere is pretty decent but it could be better. The area tends to be a bit noisy as it is Chinatown but it is not terrible. Overall it was a really good experience as I enjoyed the food, the service and what I tried. Their sprint rolls are big compared to any other spring rolls in the UK and they taste amazing. Additionally, I ordered chicken fried rice and I was amazed by how something that seemed so simple tasted that great.
