Is this a restaurant that ranks high in terms of deliciousness in Chinatown? We offer homemade dim sum. Nowadays, there are no shops that serve dim sum with wagon service, so it is a valuable asset. Stir-fried water spinach and seafood yakisoba are also delicious! It's a fairly large box, so no reservations are required. If you're looking for dim sum, lunch is recommended. Please note that after 6 o'clock, the variety will be drastically reduced.

This is one of my goto's restaurants in London. The food is amazing and trust me you will like anything you get. It is located in the heart of Chinatown. My favourite things to get are the crystal prawn dim sum and the pork xiao long bao. One of the food is made fresh in the restaurant right in front of you by the chefs. The food is cooked and brought out to you super quickly and there's a huge selection.

The food was good but nothing special. The service however was very poor. We were asked why it was “so complicated to place the order” as we were a bit indecisive about what to order. Also, what added to the confusion was that the numbers in the menu and the numbers on the order sheet didn’t match, some didn’t even exist. Furthermore, when came the time to pay the bill and choose the amount of the tip, the waiter was very intrusive and staring at what we were typing. Overall, I would not recommend. You can find much better in the area.

The dumplings are very good. That said, we went to dinner at 5:50 p.m., we were told that the dumpling kitchen closed at 6:00 p.m., we ordered in a hurry, we ate dinner in a hurry, and what a surprise it was when we came out and saw that the kitchen was still wide open and folding tables for dinner service. In short, going at a bad time means that we don't enjoy it, although I admit that the dumplings were very delicious.

Correct, but not essential We visited this restaurant after seeing it recommended by a Spanish YouTuber. We didn't have a reservation, but being two people there was no problem getting a table, since the place is quite large. The menu is very extensive, with many options, which can be a little overwhelming if you are not familiar with this type of cuisine. We ordered the lacquered duck and an 8-piece Dim Sum plate. The food was okay, but nothing particularly memorable. As for the prices, for being in the center of London, they are reasonable. I wouldn't say it's a "must-see" restaurant, but it could be an acceptable option if you're in the area and like this type of cuisine.

We were sat next to two girls who were talking so loud we couldn’t hear properly as three of us have very bad tinnitus so we moved tables before anyone took any orders. Well the manager/owner who was sitting on an adjacent table got really nasty and shouting at me that I’m sorry our restaurant isn’t good enough for you! Scowling And then started laughing to her friend. We go in Dumpling Legend a lot as Londoners and we have spent a lot of money in her restaurant over the years. We spent £170 for 4 people that day. And to be honest most of the food was okay. Crispy duck was thrown in the fryer, crispy chicken from the fryer. Tasteless greens & garlic. It’s a real shame because the rest of the staff are lovely. She lets that place down. We are not tourists but I guess she’s doesn’t care who’s she’s rude too. We will go elsewhere from now on. Dumpling legend not legendary at all!

Not sure what happened but after seating us they took a long time to take our order. Once they did, our noddles came out pretty quickly and the veggies dim sum my wife ordered and one of my dishes came out soon after. The fried dumpling I ordered didn't come out for a long time. The staff tried to take my plates three times and I told them each time I was still waiting for the rest of my order. Once they did drop it off they ignored us and I tried to ask for the bill service times but no one looked our way. Eventually I just went up to the counter to pay and they said they usually come to us. Overall the service was poor, the quality of the food was mid and it was over priced. There are a lot more dim sum restaurants in that area that I would recommend over this location.

MORE AT Google

Where to begin... First of all, I'll start with how there are better quality restaurants (close by) when ordering dimsum. Although, the waiters/waitress were relatively attentive, the rate of dishes came out from the kitchen was slow and disorganised despite us ordering all at one time. Est. time between dishes 15mins+. They brought out the first rice dish (no source no nothing) then another rice dish about 20mins later. An hour and a bit after ordering then came the first dimsum dish. Not sure if anyone else has had this kind of experience at other dimsum restaurants, but this is the first time I've ever encountered such a poor service. Secondly, I want to highlight how after care is extremely poor. As we all paid separately, they (a senior member - like manager/restaurant owner) added a few pennies onto my CARD payment (by rounding up) when I clearly stated the exact amount. We all know the economy right now, so every penny added can affect us. Plus imagine if they did this to EVERY customer, and/or every bill how much they are racking up. In addition, when we were making our way to leave, whilst still at the table packing our belongings, they (senior staff) kept chasing us out (even though they said good bye) this was done approx. 5 times in 30s - 50s intervals. I'm not deliberately counting timestamps but just to give you some perspective. Thirdly, food. I order prawn dumplings, those of you who know the dish are aware it's called 'hargou', for some reason almost every seafood dimsum dish ordered was (served with) chives. Since when did they have chives in hargou. Crab dimsum was they same but it pretty much tasted like vegan with little or not crab meat present. Lastly, other aspects being the area was cold, perhaps we were in the direction of the door despite being at least half way inside the restaurant. I would comment that the ground staff were ok, but upper management and customer service needs work. Maybe promo one of your regular staff members at least that way the level of service won't drop significantly. I won't be going here again. (2.5 star rating) Please bear in mind this is a party of 5 and the bill came up to approx £150+ for dimsum.

Visited this restaurant at lunchtime. There were quite a lot of people, but we were immediately offered a table. The order did not have to wait long. The soup was brought quickly, then the meat with a side dish, then the dumplings. Portions were different. The soup is a small portion but quite tasty, the meat with a side dish is tasty, there is a lot of rice, not enough meat. Dumplings were a little disappointing, they are small and there are not many fillings. As a conclusion, I can say that this is not an institution to which I would like to return.

Grub was nice but the fastest meal of my life. 35 mins from entry to exit. Not much of an atmosphere. Browsed the menu and just as we’d finalised the order with the honey roast pork, they were wizzing dishes to the table faster than you could say chop suey! Overall, grub was decent but could hardly move for the dishes, expected starters first then leading into the mains. All came at once, was fighting for space to put my beer down! This is hands-down the MOST efficient Chinese restaurant in London that I’ve been to! The selection of dishes is top notch, and the staff are very quick to attend to your table. Some would say it’s a bit daunting but eventually you get used to it! If you’re into the charm of a restauranting experience with no fluff and extra bits attached, you’ll love this place! Contrary to the other restaurant reviews I’ve placed Google, I actually love this type of experience as it feels very authentic and as-it-is! Only 4/5 rated for service as you’d ask for a tap water and they’d never refill it - the staff are too busy to pay attention to the level of your glass, shame. Same with the teapot - other Chinese restaurants would refill it as and when you need but you could never get the attention of the waiters at this establishment. I highly recommend dining at Dumplings’ legend!

Atmosphere is pleasant, interior fine - nice to see the red lanterns of Gerrard Street from the first floor. We didn't feel rushed and the price was fair. This was our first time dining at this restaurant, and it was an unpleasant experience. The dumplings (xiaolongbao) were very disappointing. The dumplings (xiaolongbao) we received were shrunken. When we tried one, the skin was thick, and the filling was minimal. Having eaten dumplings in other Chinese restaurants in the UK and other Asian countries, we found this completely different from what we expected. Moreover, since the restaurant advertises itself as specializing in dumplings, we found this quite strange. We shared our feedback with a waitress, who was relatively polite. However, another waitress nearby had a terrible attitude. She launched into a long and rude tirade, accusing us of making things difficult for the restaurant staff. (We were only trying to provide feedback and we wondered if this was an exceptional case; if we don’t tell the waitstaff, are we supposed to speak directly to the chef?) Not wanting to cause a scene in public, we had to ask her to stop. Later, we requested to speak with the manager or person in charge in order to address the waitress’s bad attitude but no one was available. Therefore, we can only leave our comments here. In summary: -If you’re looking for good dumplings, avoid this restaurant. -The staff are rude.

WORSE IMPOSSIBLE WITH SLEEVE CUT INCLUDED. We selected this restaurant in Chinatown because it appeared on the internet (and on the door of the establishment) that it closed at 11pm. As soon as we approached the door (9:50 p.m.) a restaurant employee approached us and insisted that we quickly get into the restaurant. Once seated and as soon as they gave us the menu, they began to insist that we had to order NOW because the kitchen was closing, something that surprised us because, as I indicated, the restaurant's closing time was 11 p.m. and no one had warned us about it. which urged us to order before sitting down. When we asked about the reason for such urgency, they told us that the kitchen was already closing. Given such urgency, we had to order quickly without barely having time to read the menu. Around 10:00 p.m., when they brought the first dishes (part of the order still had to be brought), they brought us the bill and told us that we had to pay NOW, that they were closing the cash register. When we told them that we would pay, as usual, when we finished dinner, they reluctantly left and after 5 minutes another employee came insisting that we had to pay, to whom we reiterated the same thing. Given our refusal, several employees appeared again consecutively and, finally, so as not to ruin our dinner, we decided to pay in the middle of the service, obviously requesting that the tip be removed from the bill. After this unpleasant treatment, we tried to continue the dinner, which turned out to be mediocre and did not at all live up to the grandiose name of the restaurant. However, continuing to dine normally was almost impossible with a group of approximately 6 employees looking at us with bad looks and rushing to remove anything from our table as soon as we put it down while many others cleaned the adjacent tables with strong-smelling chemicals. At 10:30 p.m. we were already outside the restaurant and, to our surprise, while they were closing the door, one of the employees gave us a defiant cut of the sleeve. Bad manners (tone when addressing the customer, including sleeve cutting), lack of honesty (rushing to “catch” customers without warning that they would be pressured to eat and settle the bill expressly), misleading advertising ( wrong closing time on the internet and at the restaurant door) and the mediocre food (the dumplings were a mass of tasteless filling) make a visit to this restaurant a deplorable experience. If you want to ruin your experience in London, I recommend it.

THEY SERVE GREY TEA. 🤢. 1. Grey tea - we asked for the typical Pu-er tea and it came out grey. We asked them about it, they said it’s normal. I have never seen GREY tea globally. It tasted like dish water. 2. No Chinese goes there - big sign on food being not authentic. 3. Bad food in general. 4. Crazy expensive. 5. Tourist trap.

Dumpling Legends, legendary place for me for couple of years. I’m working in hospitality also so after work it was perfect spot for a pint and some Chinese food because it was open till late. About food I can say many things, ups and downs but for the menu over 500 positions You have to know what to choose, otherwise could be very difficult. In general I like the place, always busy there, food as I said, up to Your personal preferences, but I believe everyone can find something. To be fair I was never disappointed, maybe I’m lucky or I just know what to order? Wish best of luck, just please let us pay by card finally!

It’s neither amazing nor bad, but in an area crowded with tourists who just need food to fill their stomachs, it’s acceptable. The menu has all the favorites, Xiao Long baos, Phoenix claws, ha cau, fried wonton. You know what to expect, but also expect a rather large bill and small serving portions. Really uninspired and not much better than the local Chinese takeaways you can find on most British high streets.

Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Our waiter seemed uninterested and, at times, downright rude. She was short with us when we asked questions about the menu and then someone else came. The food, while decent, didn't make up for the lack of hospitality. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when you're made to feel like an inconvenience. At the end someone came for payment, we informed her about our experience and told her that we don’t wanna pay service charge, after listening this she was quite angry and keep asking who was the waiter why we don’t wanna pay etc!! she was quite rude too.Overall, the experience was frustrating.

The fact that the place was full of people was not, in the end, an indication of quality. The dishes are certainly plentiful but tasteless and really expensive for a more than mediocre restaurant. Absolutely nothing against simple or bare or poorly furnished places, but the cost of the food and the quality are decidedly disproportionate compared to the context.

Booked a table for boxing day 2 months ago. Last night at midnight got an email saying the table was cancelled No reason no call no communication. Have tried calling and they don't answer. Got through. They just told me they're now too busy. When i asked why they cancelled my booking that has been on the books for 2 months they just shouted "cancelled" at me and hung up. Lovely.

They have a variety of Chinese/ Hong Kong food to choose from the menu. Food is delicious and good portions. I personally recommend soup dumplings, or xiaolongbao (小籠包), which are juicy and meaty.

The waiters were being extremely rude and didn’t even bother to ask us how we were doing, like other restaurants. There were lots of cigarettes on the floor and rushed us to pay the bill. There were crab shells in the crab dumpling and the portion was really small. Not to mention that the food was £60 for 4 dishes!!

We go here atleast twice a week. The dumplings are very very high quality. The food arrives really quick even though the place is usually full. The only negative feedback is that the staff tries to push you away to accommodate more tables.

Fun atmosphere for the hours we were there, but these thieving bouncers definitely took my phone. Took 2 hours of asking around and eventually meeting top management to get the phone back. Lock in Tiger Tiger. Get better
