The food is very inconsistent and very expensive for the end product. We were disappointed with the meat dishes in sauce and the service was not very friendly. We enjoyed the dumpling and fried rice.

worst experience at a chinese restaurant ever. My friends and I popped in after having a stroll around central London as we saw there was a queue outside so we assumed the food would be good- also considering the prices. We ordered roast pork, which came to our table stone cold, we then decided we do not want that particular dish anymore as pork served cold seems like a serious health hazard. Our special fried rice came out slimy and with sauce on top that ruined the entire meal. We complained to staff and they were ridiculously rude to all of us, we kindly asked them to remove it of our bill however the woman rudely refused and stated towards me a black woman that ‘I knew you would be like this when you walked through the door,’ which I found profusely horrible. After a while she settled for taking off the rice which was £12 and she only took off £6.80. I am highly upset at the service we received at this disgusting place. No hospitality at that chaotic place whatsoever. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Excellent Hygienic food🦟 Experience in London Long story short, In my noodle, there was a mosqito and unknown material on inside of plate. When I told the Chinese staff, she said she can give me 10% off to the dish without saying sorry with incredibly rude face. If you were nice to me, I would paid and left. But I couldn’t stand their incredibly nice behavior, so I did spoke up, and finally the owner said just leave without paying. I ordered a noodle. The Chinese female clerk was rude, so I thought she was paying for me. She said I sit just next to the couple and it was really really close. Also felt uncomfortable because the couple next to me looked at me so much. So I decided to going to eat quickly and leave, but I found out the mosqito while I was eating. All my life, going around the world, going to different restaurants I've never had such a dirty dish before. Not only a mosquito, but also unknown substances inside of bowl surface because they not washed properly. I notice because when I tried to scratch them, they were removed 🤮 When I saw the review here, I saw it wasn't clean, but I didn't expect it to be this dirty. I thought I was going to throw up when I saw them. The staff just tossed me to the owner. The owner said like “IT IS NORMAL AND NATURAL MOSQITO IN THE DISH BECAUSE WIND COME TO INSIDE THE RESTAURANT” Excuse me. Seriously? I also couldn’t hear some apology from them, and she said I could go without paying finally. But of course without some apology. Also I heard something bad words like blaming me when I left the restaurent. The only fault for me was I should eat them slowly to stop eating. I was so rush because of feeling of being hungry and discomfort. Thank you for you guy’s unbelievable behavior and services below than Mac Donald🦟💕

We came to this restaurant because my friend saw it in a video by a famous Spanish YouTuber and we decided to try it. We didn't have a reservation on a Saturday night but there was no problem, the place is huge. We stood in line for a long time and ended up getting in. The menu is super extensive, there are many options. We ordered recommendations from the waitress, who was not the joy of the garden, it was obvious that she was in a hurry and she conveyed that to us. Since we were only two people we couldn't order much, but what they served us was good, nothing out of this world either. In terms of prices, for being the center of London, it is very good. Good quantity in the dishes for a correct price. It was about £93 with a bottle of water (water alone £7, more expensive than the plate of dumplings...). With all the options there are in London, I don't recommend it as a "must-see" restaurant either. It's fine to get by and if it catches you on the way.

For someone who had never had this cuisine and was curious to understand what the items are or the right way to eat things this was the worst place to be. Staff were in their own world dumping the things on the table like "eat and get lost" sort of attitude.. tldr: TOURIST TRAP. Food is okay-ish, but overpriced and they try to get more money from you in shady ways. Asked 4 dishes, 1 was delicious, 1 terrible and 2 okay. Portions are quite small. BUT THE SERVICE, while the food is served quite fast, the employees are not very friendly. We had ordered 3 dishes and they told that was not enough, it was mandatory to spend at least 15pounds per person (later, we heard them tell this to another table that basically told them they had no right to ask that and they just accepted their order). Worst of all, is that no person in that restaurant knows the meaning of “discretionary”. We told them we did not wish to pay the service fee (as mentioned before, service was not good - not even water was given to us), and they said it was mandatory. In this moment, another employee (possibly the manager?) jumps into the conversation and tell us that’s the practice in all city, to which we reply we’ve been here for a couple of days already and nobody ever forced us to pay it (even though we sometimes did, as the service was good). By this time, the possible manager is basically saying that if we did not want to pay the tax we should’ve ordered take away. We ended up paying it as we’re getting late for something else - but avoid our mistake and if you do want to come here be prepared for some fighting for your costumer rights. Still quite sad to spend more than 20€ per person and leaving quite hungry.

Worst dinning experience EVER! Read reviews before going to this trap! I don’t like writing negative reviews, but this place merits one. We went to this place with a couple of friends visiting London for their first time. Such a big mistake and awful experience. I wished we had read the reviews, as they consistently highlight how rude staff are. Initially we were nicely welcomed in by their front desk staff. However, as soon as we went in the nightmare started. As we were sitting down we were told we had to order in 5 minutes as the kitchen was taking last orders (fair enough, the restaurant closes at 11 pm, and the kitchen closes at 10 pm). Whilst we were looking at the menus we had 3 different staff rushing us into ordering. I wished they realised rudely harassing customers does not speed the process, instead they could have offered some suggestions to help us with our order. Still, we were understanding and we ordered the food very quickly. Unfortunately we were not allowed to order drinks, as apparently the bar service also closes at 10 pm. I understand the kitchen stops taking orders as they have to prepare the food, but I don’t understand why they could not serve drinks, as I presume they are not making their own wine on the premises. Food came quickly but with no explanation in relation to the different dumplings, which we would have appreciated as one of us was vegetarian. As soon as the food was served, a very rude lady came with the bill and payment machine (they did the same with all the other customers). It was around 22.15 pm. Usually we would pay if staff asks politely, but considering how rude they have been throughout, we said we would pay at the end, as we feared once we had paid they would start pushing us to leave. Up to 5 staff members came over asking for the payment. They even had the audacity to add service charge! We obviously declined paying it (it is the first time in my life I refuse service charge, and we dine out A LOT). We finally decided to pay as trying to eat whilst continuously arguing with them was incompatible. As soon as we paid, they started cleaning with a very strong product, so we were forced to leave. It was 10.25 pm We chose this place because it closed at 11 pm (as indicated in Google, but we also confirmed with them). If we had known they wanted to close at 10.30, we would not have gone. If you are still reading, food is quite mediocre so definitely does not compensate for all the rudeness. Dumplings were quite dry and the sauce plates were almost empty. I hope you enjoy eating anywhere else in Chinatown.

If these are homemade dumplings, I'll eat a broom. I was really disappointed and the atmosphere was like a hall. Way too expensive for what you get. Guests next to me got up and left because they were not satisfied and the guests afterwards had to correct the food that was delivered three times because the wrong thing was brought. The staff wasn't very friendly and we were given large drinks straight away, which I then complained about. In my opinion the guest is being ripped off here. And as you walk out you see them warming up frozen dumplings. The staff wasn't very friendly and we were given large drinks straight away, which I then complained about. In my opinion, the guest is being ripped off here. It was an experience that I don't have to have again

**⭐ 1 Star** If you love feeling unwelcome before even sitting down, *Dumpling Legends* has you covered. The manager was rude from the start, and the waiter—clearly allergic to paying attention—served us shrimp noodles after we mentioned a shrimp allergy. When I pointed out their mistake, he kindly printed the order to prove *I* was wrong. Nice touch! The food? Singapore noodles with a single strip of chicken, dumplings that weren't what we ordered, and a waiter yelling "CHICKEN" as she ran away. Double-charged for the noodles too, because I guess one strip of chicken is worth twice the price. Avoid this "legend" unless you’re into chaos dining!

Really liked this place. Food was excellent, price was reasonable and the service was really good. Always difficult to choose from all the available options in China Town but this place was recommended too us and really didn't disappoint! Would definitely recommend.

We visited for Dim sum lunch. We ordered a selection of the usual dim sum, the portion sizes were fine but I personally felt the dishes were bland, I could hardly taste anything. The char siu in the cheung fun was too minced it had no texture or flavour. Siu mai and Har gau were bland. The service was good and the bill at £70 for 2 probably on the higher end of restaurants in the area.

Amazing restaurant. Nice place with delicious food. Only downside was the price. Also be careful because it's easy to order too much food

We were very excited to try the soup dumplings but by the time we got them home, there was no soup as the dumplings appears to have absorbed them. We had quite a long wait for the food too.

I ended up in Chinatown at 10:30 on a Thursday when all other restaurants were closed but Dumplings’ Legend was still open! Having been to a number of other Chinese restaurants in Chinatown, I can say this is the best! We ordered the sweet and sour pork, beef noodles, soup dumplings and beef fried rice. The plates were very big and we ate every bit! The food wasn’t too greasy or sweet, it was perfect and tasted amazing. Would 10/10 recommended

I have already eaten in a real Chinese restaurant from China and I can tell that this restaurant is not even close to the real taste of the meals. I have ordered some stir-fryed pakchoi with garlic and I was served with some steamed tasteless pakchoi. Furthermore, the egg fried rice was very dry and also tasteless. The only good points were the chicken noodles which was less dry even though it was missing a bit of seasoning and the kindness of the waitresses. Finally, if you want to eat in a authentic Chinese restaurant, I do not recommend golden dumplings.

Great place to try some authentic Chinese food. There have plenty of options to choose from. Specially liked their noodles which was sort of like vermicelli and the sprouts added with them gave the perfect balance. Spring rolls were quite nice. The drinks are in the pricey side, a 7up can is around 7 pounds so wouldn’t recommend that.

The worst experience in London. The worst restaurant experience ever in my life. As a summary, and if you don't feel like reading the full and detailed review, I recommend, I strongly warn you, that you don't even consider going to this restaurant. On to the detailed review: Attracted by its eloquent name, and considering its late hours (until 11pm) advertised on Google, we had the misfortune of falling into this place. We entered around 9:50 p.m. “invited” by their spirited salesman at the door. Inside, the tone was harsh and rude from the initial greeting. Immediately after sitting down, the menu for the 4 of us diners. Barely 3 minutes later, with a stern and uncooperative tone, the staff urged us to order the food, several times, since the kitchen was closing in minutes, right at 10 p.m. We should have left there to avoid the unpleasant experience; but we didn't think it would be that big of a deal. Hurried and already uncomfortable, we ordered several dishes without barely being able to decide and select. Until then, we associate it with that quick, dry, direct, and severe treatment, usual in the staff of Chinese restaurants. It was impossible for us to order any drinks, since it seems that the kitchen schedule also follows. Immediately the dishes began to arrive with the urgency that all the staff exuded in every movement. We ate diligently, aware that we were being pressured with each new dish, with each gesture, and with each table that was cleared around us. Before taking out all the dishes we received the bill, including the voluntary Service Charge £13.83 (10:19 p.m., see photo) to pay immediately, in a demanding and urgent tone, since they were going to close the till. We told them to let us have dinner first, that we would pay immediately, and that there was still more than half an hour until closing. This response angered them, and up to four or five employees successively paraded to demand the same thing from us in an increasingly rude and insistent manner. Needless to say, the situation was increasingly unpleasant and the dinner was anything but pleasant, without being able to taste or savor the food, tense and aware of the entire environment. They cleared tables in the surrounding area in a similar way, keeping tabs and urging them to pay, starting to collect and use strong-smelling, very unpleasant and intimidating cleaning products. It was not yet 10:30 p.m. Until the person in charge or manager arrived with an almost threatening tone and demanded that we pay now, in a non-negotiable way. Obviously, the bill was the only thing that kept them from ejecting us from there by little more than force. So when we agreed to pay, demanding that they remove the service (read tip), totally disastrous, that was already an organized attack by all the staff, cleaners, etc., absolutely preventing us from continuing to dine. So, without any other option, we asked for some tupperware, which surprisingly they gave us, we picked up and left, with a memorable photo (which I attach) of the unforgettable place. As a final culmination, already on the street, evicted at 10:33 p.m., still bewildered and incredulous with the experience suffered, the person in charge or manager, upon closing the blinds, gave us an eloquent comb, direct and cruel. Eloquent because it represents the essence of this pathetic place, and the behavior of its staff. I would tell the restaurant that if this is going to be the treatment for customers who arrive for dinner more than an hour before the restaurant closes (confirmed by themselves on a sign on the door), that their commercial on the street Don't keep getting clients. You are warned, do not fall for this trick. In case anyone is wondering about the food, or hoping to read something about it in this review, I will say that it is simply mediocre, it certainly doesn't live up to the name and the dumplings are very average. That said, the worst dining experience you can imagine is waiting for you if you dare.

Legendary worst dining experience ever The food was very average and the service was extremely rude, pushy and unhelpful. As a group of four, we approached Chinatown on a Wednesday night, shortly after 9;30 pm and found this Chinese restaurant on our way. Outside, the closing time was displayed as 11 pm, same as on Google maps. This was a decisive factor to choose this restaurant as other places in Soho were about to close. The apparent owner welcomed us in at five to ten, with still plenty of customers inside having dinner. Our first surprise was that they immediately asked us to order as the kitchen was closing in five minutes. The staff told us this even before sitting down. First adverse sign We decided quickly, almost on the go, order placed. Then they urged us to order the drinks and we replied that we needed a few minutes. No, you need to order now as we are closing. Well, then some water and a beer, no time to really choose anything beyond that. Second alert. Food was served quickly and while we were trying to settle down after such initial rush (it was just quarter past ten), we were urged to pay the bill. We replied that we wanted to enjoy the food and would pay shortly. Third warning. Incredibly to tell, but then up to five different staff members came to our table to ask for payment! This caused us an intense stress and we said we would pay later as they were closing at 11? Very annoying. The staff increased their pressure by start cleaning the floor with an awfully smelling bleached water, on top of most of them standing literally 5m from us and staring at us. This was very disturbing and unacceptable at all. No other choice rather than asking for a container, put our food together and leave. I was clear that I wouldn’t pay for service charge, which made the staff look angrier. It wasn’t deserved at all after how badly they treated us. We also made clear that our review wouldn’t be great. The staff didn’t care at all, they just wanted to close and go home. While leaving, one of them even showed very bad manners with the middle finger. Rude is being kind with them. No customer care at all. No sense of a dinner being an experience and requiring more than just 20 min. They should not have let us in if they wanted to close before their public closing times. Of course, we won’t visit ever again and would recommend you to think twice. There are plenty of restaurants around which will likely be far far better than Dumplings Legend. Legendary bad.
