A warm bowl of ramen served expertly on a cold day. I’m glad that Shoryu are increasing their vegetarian range. More would always be welcome!

4 of us went, and we all had bad meals. The menu is basically ramen (2 of us) and japanese curry (the other 2). My curry was a congealed, lukewarm sauce ovee some rice and the ramen eaters said their dishes had an unpleasant taste. Service was mediocre to poor. Only nice dish was the starters - gyozo and engagement.

This was the worst meal I’ve had in London ever. The food smelled, tasted strange so only ate half of the ramen noodles and none of the soup. No one at our table had a nice meal. Really awful.

My partner and I decided we would do a Japanese themed day in London as we were going to see Spirited Away at the Coliseum Theatre. Looking at Shoryu's menu we found a great deal of good vegetarian options and the website looked great so we booked a table. I should say that we are both vegetarians and that I suffer from IBS, which means that I have an onion and garlic intollerance, which is not the greatest to eat out. However, the staff were so kind and helpful with this. In fact we both ordered vegan ramen and the kitchen very kindly made me a broth without the onion or garlic. It was incredible. I couldn't recommend the place highly enough. In fact all the food and drink we had was great. We started with some edemame, which is always a go to at a Japanese resteraunt. We also had a boa bun with a pumpkin crocet. So good. The yuzu mojito and yuzu jasmine tea were so refreshing. Great service, the decor is so relaxed and cool. Thank you for a great lunch

I love Shoryu. My wife and I regularly visit when we come to London however the last two visits to the Covent Garden branch have been poor. Last night we visited and the food was nowhere near as good a previous and the service was so slow. The pork in my ramen looked like it had been cook a day earlier and was very tough. My wife's had congealed as if it had been sitting on a hotplate for a while. We also couldn't get anyone's attention to pay. Other diners got up and walked to the front of the restaurant to pay. We eventually were served and there was 12.5% tip added on. Which we didn't want to pay but asking to remove it is worse than just not paying so we paid it reluctantly. I would recommend Shoryu but just avoid this branch. It's really really poor. Zero effort by staff and low quality food.

We went right at opening time, thankfully, as we had no reservations. We sat at one of the high tables (shared) and watched the entire restaurant fill up QUICKLY! We ordered drinks: matcha tea (be ready for it to be super strong) & oolong tea (need to admit I drink it with sugar, so when I asked for some, the bartender sends over simple syrup, which was such an unexpected, though greatly appreciated, detail) Appetizers: 2 bag buns: crispy chicken and a bbq pork (buns are soft pillows filled with amazing flavors); dumplings (piping hot, garnished with spring onions and ginger with a soy-based dipping sauce); cucumbers (cool and crisp, sesame oil, salt and Korean spice); kimchi (was ok, not as spicy as I expected) Entree: traditional Ramen, original noodles (arrives nice and hot, great flavor, and good portion) Make sure to call and make reservations if you want to sit at a regular table, but don’t let sitting outside or sharing a table stop you from trying their food!

We had a reservation for dinner, and when we arrived it was pouring with rain, so it was nice to be given Japanese-style umbrella bags to put our wet brollies in! Service was friendly and quick, and the food was very good. My "Kotteri Hakata Tonkotsu" was very good, and a generous portion. A couple of us shared some gyoza and takoyaki, and these were freshly cooked, and tasty. Prices were reasonable. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.

I came here with my Dad in December before going to the theatre, who is not the adventurous with his food choices (eg: only likes English food). He loved the ramen here! It was really yummy and I loved it too. The restaurant itself is quite small, but well decorated. Everyone else food looked really yummy. Since coming here, my Dad always talks about this place, which is quite an achievement if you knew my Dad. The only thing is that the toilets are those proper Japanese toilets which was quite confusing to navigate but that’s my issue lol

The tonkotsu ramen, despite me ordering the one that's meant to be richer and more flavourful, was quite watery and bitter. The noodles were pretty tasteless. I sat outside and got food slammed down in front of me by a waitress who clearly wished she was anywhere else. You do all ordering and payment via the qr code (outside anyway). The bao buns were middling. I had to ask for soy sauce and it came on a grubby tray with other condiments. The sesame seed shaker had mouldy seeds in the rim. I won't go back.

Very nice bowl of Ramen, situated not far from Covent Garden (across the road from the Freemasons building) Limited food and wine menu but the Ramen was tasty and not spicy (depends on which one you choose for spice levels) I found the staff a tad abrupt and non plussed which was the only let down of a nice meal.

It was a busy Saturday evening when we went to the restaurant in Covent Garden, but we managed to get a table. We had great ramen, and the service was good. They observed the safety measures during the pandemic in a satisfactory manner with staff members wearing face masks, contact tracing registry, and taking temperatures of customers; however, the tables could be more physically distanced.

Ever since we went to Japan we’ve been hunting down ramen places and this has been the best so far! The Dracula ramen with black garlic is highly recommended! The starters are also delicious, especially the bao buns. The only thing I’d criticise is that the place is crammed with tables and you’d feel way more comfortable with more space. It can get a bit claustrophobic! Food is worth it but you wouldn’t want to stay for very long.

Staff were not friendly and very eager to take our plates away quickly which made for an awkward and unjoyable experience. The food was good however we were refused the kids menu (the lady simply said “no”) or half portions (common at many restaurants) even though we are 12 years old. The sparking water was a ludricous £4.50 and they took the bottle away when there was still some left. We ordered 3 dishes, one of them being a starter, and our bill came to over £29. One of the servers (possibly the manager?) was unfriendly and made us feel really uncomfortable. The service charge amounted to £3.27 and we were reluctant to pay it but were afraid of the waitress.

Went to Shoryu for a friend's birthday and on the whole had a nice time, but not sure staff could cope with our party... The food was pretty nice, though my main gripe was that there was only one or two vegetarian options in a...

The ramen at Shoryu is tasty, but given the options London has to offer this is simply not enough. The price when I went was £5, but that was a discount from £12. The aubergine and mushroom starters were fine, too. Nothing to complain about...

Good (not excellent) flavour here when you add your own spices and extras. Typical Ramen combinations in nice setting - quieter than others nearby.

Very good haunt indeed, well priced and tasty. Known for Ramen but there are good choices such as tempura and sashimi. Good desserts as well. I will return!!!

Sushi for starter was really good. Had the Thai green ramen which was really tasty - never come across it before and it's a new favourite of mine. We were seated without a reservation but the service was very slow - only downside.

Enjoyed good quality, tasty ramen. Service was friendly and efficient. Beers were cold! Prices are ok for central London.

This place was fine but the Ramen at Bone Daddies is much tastier. The prices here are way too high for the offering- my Ramen (with an egg added and some chilli) came to £16! The flavours were good but not anything to write home...

Chose here as local and last minute eating. The reception was swift with a 'bang of the gong' on heading to our table! Filled buns we chose for starter. The contents good, the bun, just a vehicle for the content, bland and like eating chewy...

Came here for pre-show dinner. Did not make reservation and noted that there were a fair few tables empty so we thought we might try our luck. Seriously have never seen wait people make such a fuss about "no reservations". I told the wait person...

Standard ramen. Truthfully, you’d be hard pushed to get it wrong. Although, I wouldn't expect your extra toppings to be physically added to the ramen, or necessarily presented warm, or even at room temp on the side plate that gets slapped down in front of...
