Excellent coffee and food. Their eggs Benny gravlax second to none. The coffee even at busy times always looked after and served at a great standard. The staff though take it to the next level. The guy that served me (had blond highlights and shortish hair, sorry didn't catch your name) was working both days I went there and was very accommodating despite how busy they were. The same goes for the rest of the team, they were all super pleasant, helpful, swift. Thank you 😊

Coffee knowledge and quality at its finest

A must visit, service for me was 1st class, attentive, friendly and welcoming, fast and efficient. I was also lucky enough to attend the SCA training given by Tom who was brilliant.

I never understood the hype of this coffee shop. I know Hoffman owns some shares but he doesn't really directly involved in daily operations. I don't like the fact that for a coffee shop, you have to stand at the door to be seated. It completely destroyed the casual feeling of a coffee shop. It is very noisy, and you can't even have a decent conversation. Feels like trying to be posh but didn't quite get it right. There are thousands of independent and commercial coffee shops in town and i have enjoyed many others a lot more.

A larger-scale operation with washed mexico house beans. I had a latte with guest beans washed Honduras which was excellent

Great value, high quality and some interesting choices available. We came to Purfrock after a recommendation and it did not disappoint. Yummy Bacon.

I came especially to try James Hoffman's coffee. The place is nice, the food and the coffee too. Although the attention was not necessarily the best.

Believe the hype, the mushrooms on toast are amazing. It's table service and we were very looked after to begin with. However I think we were forgotten about near the end and basically had to chase someone down to get a cake which put a dampener on the experience. The coffee was perfect as you can imagine

Super good spot for proper speciality coffee (guest roasts are great) and brunch food - mushroom and aioli on sourdough was delicious. Staff great and attentive. Busy spot. On weekends, we waited about 10 minutes for a table of 2 - totally worth it though.

We are fan of James Hoffman, so of course we had to come here during our stay in London. We were so very pleasantly surprised. The service is flawless, it is so nice to see a business that does not understaff. The food was amazing and the coffee excellent. The only thing was that if you get anything more than a flat white, the handle of the cup is not the best and it’s hard to hold it. I had the latte and I had to really put some strength in my finger to hold the cup properly. Apart from that, everything was perfect!

The place is amazing, great coffee and super friendly staff! Only downside is that there is only 1 bathroom…

Fantastic breakfast venue. The best eggs Benedict I have ever had. A very generous slice of bacon with a brilliant hollandaise sauce. Thoroughly recommend. The coffee is also off the chart. It was busy when I arrived, but they were very hospitable.

I'm from Amsterdam and I came to London to taste coffee in different spots while working remote... This is the best I tried!! Inspired by a youtube video I saw first when I was home in Amsterdam. Amazing people and coffee!!!!!

Amazing coffee and the menu has great options to pick from. Awesome spot if you enjoy drip coffee. Can get a little busy so don’t expect a quick in and out, even if you’re getting a takeaway. But still amazing service and good prices.

Friendly and cosy! We really enjoyed the coffee! Staff were very attentive and it was easy to catch their eye if needed. I also love the concept of two separate queues, one for take out and one for sitting in. It's amazing they have found the balance between effiency and providing a cosy relaxing atmosphere.

Excellent. Great vibe, great location, and most of all, terrific staff. I had it on 4* (only because they favour Colombian blends, which are not my favourite, 5* spot otherwise) but my experience today gives it the deserved extra star. Will be back soon enough.

Great coffee selection, the staff is very knowledgeable about their beans. Food was not as exciting, the cinnamon roll was dry and looked like it was left over from the day before.

What can I say. I had one of the most memorable and wholesome experiences here at Prufrock, all credit to the wonderful staff -Charlie, River and Jan, who went above and beyond. Back in 2021, I did my Barista Foundation course here and fast forward to 2025, Prufrock continues to flourish and show how exceptional service from passionate individuals can make the experience as wonderful and truly special. Staff were attentive and tailored the experience, always a keen eye for details and caring for their customers. There is no secret to Prufrock’s success other than investing in their team members to serve people and showcase coffee and food to the highest quality. Thank you so much to all the staff for one of the best experiences, and wish all the success and continued growth in years to come.

Absolutely loved this place! Amazing coffee (great quality beans available), fantastic food and lovely cakes. Best brunch I had in a long time. Staff was beyond friendly, didn’t rush us, gave helpful recommendations and checked on us often. Place was packed on Sunday lunchtime, but worth the wait.

I was charged £3.50 for a takeaway cup of tea, size of 200 ml. - a size of a small coffee. What an absolute rip off! For this price you should at least give 350 ml. Shame I heard good things.

What a lovely experience at this place. The staff greeted me at arrival and continued to let me know the status of a table. The food was excellent and they could accommodate my dietary preferences. Of course the coffee was phenomenal. I had an oat flat white that was smooth. I even bought some coffee beans for home and it has been a nice treat in the morning.

Great tasting coffee and service Popped in for a takeaway coffee and a bag of beans. Staff are super knowledgeable and helpful. My takeaway cost about the same as a pret coffee, but was hands down better than Monmouth or any of the other local coffee shops I’ve tried. ++ would recommend

I had a coffee which for a self proclaimed coffee snob, says a lot! It could have been slightly hotter though. The vibes were so nice, very attentive and friendly service. They also allow laptops for working. The food was also really good!

Great coffee and very friendly staff. When we got there on a Sunday with a group of 4 at 10.30 am we were told about 40min waiting time, but the waiter offered us instead to stay at one one standing table next to the windows and we still got to enjoy our coffee :)

We went as a group of four and ordered different types of drinks. Coffees with milk were quite nice, but the ones without milk were extremely sour. We had high expectations considering that this is James Hoffmann's place, therefore quite disappointed.

Spent £7.50 for a (tiny) flat white and a £4 cinnamon bun. Flat white was good but very small. The cinnamon bun was definitely sitting there for a while and charging £4 for it it's just a plain face robbery.

Great coffee brewed and great food made by experienced professionals in a cozy atmosphere. It’s the first well brewed cup of coffee I ever had that was nothing like the coffee I had before. It’s ruined my clumsily prepared coffee forever and I’ve had to learn to better coffee, since.

El café estaba bien. Pero el servicio fue un poco raro. En lugar de pedir en el mostrador había un 'greeter' que tomó mi orden y luego me indicó que pagara. Y rápidamente me dijo que me parara a un lado. Mientras esperaba que mi discapacidad comenzara a afectarme y me doliera la pierna, miré a mi alrededor en busca de una silla o taburete pero no había ninguno. Intenté contactar visualmente a este tipo con la esperanza de que me ofreciera un asiento, ya que no estaba ocupado. Pero no, eligió ignorar mi malestar. Terminé apoyándome contra una especie de estantería. Una vez que mi bebida estuvo lista tuve que preguntar dónde estaba el azúcar. Fui al lugar donde estaba y un miembro del personal me miró quizzicalmente y preguntó '¿estás bien?' erm, sí, sólo estoy tomando un poco de azúcar. Me hizo sentir como si estuviera en el lugar equivocado o algo así. ¿Trataron de hacerme usar una cuchara de metal para agregar mi azúcar y revolverla en una taza para llevar? Pedí una cuchara desechable y me la dieron, pero no sin echarme un vistazo a decir que había pedido la luna en un palo. Solo había una extraña manera de cómo el personal trató conmigo que nunca antes había sentido cuando simplemente compré un café. Por alguna razón no me sentí bienvenido. No sé por qué. Pero probablemente preferiría gastar 3 libras. 50 en un café pequeño en algún lugar menos pretencioso.

The place is one giant queue. The staff are not present and are fine shuffling you to wait in the rain. The Benny bacon is more fat than anything.

We were greeted right as we walked in and got a great table where we could see the beautiful market outside. We had 2 pour overs and the guest espresso from Kawa (we had just visited Kawa the week before!). The service was excellent and the coffees were a treat. We also were allowed to sit and work for a few hours which was a gift to us since we needed to get a few emails out.

Prufrock coffee has become my to go spot for a great cup of coffee, a productive afternoon, casual hangouts.
