Beautiful coffees! We went there a couple times for coffee, brunch, and pastries during the time we were in London. My most favourite coffee was one of the day batch brews that go so well with milk! The bacon egg Benedict is amazing too! The cafe can be very busy during the morning rush and have a bit of wait time.

Editing my earlier review. We had a bad initial visit here, but were graciously invited back by management to give them another try. I’m happy to report our second visit was a complete 180 and very lovely! The breakfast items (a benedict and a breakfast bun) were delicious. The coffee was superb. We had a pourover sample from Mazelab roastery (really liked the utilization of tea vs. soda water for the palate cleanser) as well as a cappuccino and flat white. I’ve only had two perfect cappuccinos ever and this was one of them. My compliments to the baristas and to Jan, the general manager, for really providing an elevated experience!

Very good coffee, we tried both filter and cappuccino. The cappuccino was so good that I was surprised with every sip how good it was. Exactly how a cappuccino should be! Good fresh food, but somewhat high price for what you got. Seemed like you had to order extra on the side for a more complete meal. We ordered sourdough bread with a poached egg with bacon on the side. It was exactly what we got, no extra meat and greens, but the flavors were very good.

A place where you can drink real coffee in London, where coffee isn't that good. On my first visit, I couldn't sit at a table because the store was closed. Instead, I received a coupon for free coffee on my next visit and a free filter coffee. The filter coffee was good because it had great acidity. On my second visit, I sat at the table and drank a latte. While most lattes in London taste bitter, here the soft milk foam and coffee were very good. When purchasing Square Mile coffee beans, they provide a friendly explanation of the coffee beans. A cafe that is satisfactory in terms of taste, atmosphere, and service.

To be fair, most the staff seemed perfectly nice, but the sour-faced moustachioed hipster who appeared to be in charge (or at least thought he was) really turned a decent experience into a grim one. It's one thing to be told to take a seat (Prufrock makes a point of table service, despite being a fairly straightforward café, albeit with pretensions). But to be scolded for venturing away from my table to ask a question as to the whereabouts of our food or to request....a fork? A bit too much. I mean, I know that Prufrock is owned by a chap who won the world barista championships (in...erm....2009?) and everything, but come on: if you treat your customers like an unwelcome inconvenience and try to boss them about like an East German train conductor, well...they just won't want to come back. I've eaten at all sorts of 1, 2 and 3-star Michelin restaurants on several continents – some of them the sort of places where you have to wear a jacket and tie - and I don't ever recall being treated with such disdain and such a naked attempt at control. So - if you're a submissive type who likes to be sneered at and told to sit down and "don't walk around" - then you'll find Prufrock perfectly pleasant. And they get points for the caffeinated TS Eliot reference in the name. But I'd rather measure out my life with coffee spoons almost anywhere but here. At least while frowny Mr Sourpuss is running the floor.

Even though it was almost a month ago and was the first day of our two week trip, me and my friend still remember stepping into Prufrock and being greeted with such hospitality and gentleness. In comparison to other 15 coffee shops we went to in those two weeks, Prufrocks still stays on top. I would give you guys 6 stars for costumer service if I could. Our waiter, who's name was Charlie, was extremely nice. Always asking is everything okay, do we need anything else, refilling out waters every time he passed by our table. Even though we only came to get a cup of coffee, we felt like at a 5 star restaurant. My friend said that her latte was very balanced and nice. My filter coffee was amazing too. Very strong flavour, had no bitterness, was very fruity and had floral notes too. The coffee shop itself has very pretty decor too, instrustial mixed with retro, but giving of very warm atmosphere. The dark turquoise tiled bar was one of out favourite things 😍. Again thank you guys so much for the amazing coffee and the service, if we're ever back in the UK, we'll be sure to come again!

It’s a cute cafe with a cosy atmosphere. I went there on a weekday in the morning and there were a few people with their laptops out and I had my laptop as well but was surprised to discover that there’s no wifi. It’s one of those places where phone reception is not great either so I couldn’t use my hotspot. I wouldn’t come here again if I was planning to use my laptop. Also, I ordered a green tea which was £3.5 and it came in a small teacup rather than a pot - I thought that was quite unreasonable. My usual cafe is a high end cafe in South Kensington and I pay £2.75 for a pot of tea.

Sunday morning and I'm walking down Leather Lane. Oh no! Two couples are ahead of me. My heart sinks. I guess we're all heading for Prufrock Coffee and they’ll beat me to the last table. But I can't powerwalk past them. Too undignified. There’s a parked removal van coming up. I step into the road and I sprint like crazy down the outside of the van. I overtake Usain Bolt, and I re-emerge on the pavement just ahead of the competition, dignity intact. A bit of elbowing at the door - and I'm in! I snap up the last empty table at Prufrock Coffee. Oh, the pleasure - the Prufrock bun; the poached eggs, crispy bacon and hollandaise; kouign amann and hot chocolate; other people having to queue. What a wonderful start to a Sunday. Brunch at Prufrock Coffee. Always worth sprinting for.

I visited because I heard I could drink and buy James Hoffman's Square Mile coffee beans. It was clean and had a nice atmosphere, but it felt a bit cluttered (more than you would normally expect for a specialty cafe in a small store). I had espresso and drip and it was very delicious. In addition to Square Mile, we are selling coffee beans from several roasters. Classified according to taste characteristics. It's not cheap, but it's within the expected price range and I'm satisfied with the taste. Toilet clean.

What used to be the best coffee in the area seems to have fallen way below its usual standards. When I visited they were doing extensive building works downstairs which led to no coffee being available (apart from filter) - not a massive issue I guess but all the staff seemed to be in chaos, orders were being forgotten and it has a general atmosphere of tension now. My croissant was cold and hard. The coffee tepid. All rather disappointing. I assume the man who was the manager wasn’t helping the situation by storming up and down the stairs looking stressed. Maybe it’s just a bad period for them.

Prufrock is one of my absolute favorite cafes in the world. The atmosphere and interior design is just perfect, the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly, the coffee is second to none, the food is VERY good, pastries are superb 👌🏼 It’s a little bit pricey for sure, but feels special every time ❤️ Coffee • What can I say… it’s as good as it gets. One thing that I think sets Prufrock apart - aside from the incredible quality - is the VARIETY. • You can enjoy so many different coffees here on any given day. Ranging from their espresso blends or single origin; they usually always have 3 different filter coffees available at different price points, along with a decaf option. • They’ll often also have something you can sample on batch brew. • I do wish there was a batch brew option that I could simply purchase to bring the cost down when coming regularly. • Also for retail, there variety is even greater. Coming here is a great way to discover new roasters and coffees! Food • The food is excellent! I’ve tried the “Benny” (Eggs Benedict) with the bacon and salmon - both are absolutely to die for. I’ve also had their toast which is very nice. • Pastries are incredible! The cinnamon buns are just ridiculous 🤤 The almond croissants are beautifully done. I’m a big fan of Kouign-amanns and it’s lovely to see them sold here! Atmosphere & Interior • I just love the interior design and overall vibe here. There is a nice variety of tables, ranging from window bars, high tables, single tables, and a couple of large booths. • The bathroom is nice, clean, and pleasant. • It does get busy but they have a nice system where the staff will seat you and they do a great job of keeping things in order. • Note that there is no Wi-Fi and for me with EE there is pretty poor service. But they do allow people to work from the cafe which is nice ✨ Price • There’s no question that things are a bit pricey. But I think this is a place that doesn’t hide that and you know you’re getting what you pay for. • It’s not just about the quality of the coffee and food, it’s also the table service and very well coordinated system they have. It’s how they handle your ordering and paying experience very smoothly. It’s how kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and well-trained all the staff are. As I mentioned earlier, my only wish regarding price was having a batch brew on sale and perhaps even a special refill price for batch brew. Overall I just love this place and all the people who make it what it is. Thank you Prufrock! ❤️

The best espresso of my life - thick texture, complex black cherry notes and perfect extraction. Amazing food - the vegan mushrooms on toast was superb - fresh ingredients, cooked and served simply. Customer service was first class - friendly, attentive and efficient. Great place to visit, definitely will be back.

In my opinion there are much better coffee shops in London. The espresso I received was over extracted, bitter and lacking any body. Quite boring. Almond and Coconut cake was nice enough.

Supremely overrated. Espresso was acidic and not well-balanced. Cinnamon bun was dry. Service was bad. I was seated at the bar/counter, placed an initial drink order and then no one ever came back to take food order. I had to walk up to the front to place a takeaway pastry order. I was also going to order hot food if someone had actually come taken my order.

This is the best benny I have ever tasted in London. The bacon is incredibly thick and juicy! It really made my day. 🥰🥰

Good atmosphere, friendly and helpful waiter, my score is low for the pizza they served me, I didn't like it at all and he kept repeating me all night...

Great Leon location. The staff are friendly and it's always clean. Plenty of seating usually even during lunch rush. They also have the best chocolate chip cookies in my opinion.

Love Costa, I think they have the best coffee out of all the most popular coffee chains in the UK. I went to the one in St Pancrass building by the platform for trains to Luton airport, I'm not sure if this review is written under the correct shop, as the pin seems to point to the King's Cross building, but I didn't find another one. This was a couple of months ago. The very pleasant service made a difference on my travel to the airport and I wanted to say thanks.
