Went for a roast with my mum the gravy was like a chemical tasting so they took it back and bought back x2 lasagne which was like slop not cooked it was disgusting they also didn’t have what I order for starter will not be coming back the pigs in blankets well if you can call them that they looked like something off of the I’m a celebrity jungle will not be going back there waste of my money

We came earlier in the year and had a terrible experience long way in Food and staff Attitude was terrible.! We came today and had The polar Opposite experience! Great Food and the staff was so engaging and happy

Went for dinner with my family last night and had a lovely evening. The food was dreamt ,staff very professional and friendly, management seemed to have good control. Nice atmosphere we will definitely be back

We went here optimistic. The place had been decent here before for cheap, easy food as we live nearby and kids like the food. unfortunately, it was not good here. We ordered for a child with milk allergies, believing that it was fine as he'd had the nuggets here before. Unfortunately, the waitstaff failed to check the ingredients. It took 30 minutes to see a waiter and we were informed that due toa a menu change, milk had been added to the chicken nuggets. 30 minutes to tell us that. They didn't check to see if he could have it. We will not be going here again.

Came in to watch football and had amazing service by ashley in the bar area. great pub, will return.

Service was okay, food was horrible, I ordered a stake and it was as hard as a rock and not made to what I asked for. Servers made rude remarks about my order and said they wouldn’t change it to my make my life better

Was a really weird experience to feel bad for the team as they are so busy and all work so hard, but yeah we're so polite good with the kids and all smiling. Our food came a lot quicker than we were advised and to a surprise was so hot, we were all generally shocked! The likeliness of us all coming back is pretty high!

Great food when they have it, very friendly staff but regularly run out of the food on the menu. When they do have it service is slow. They seem to struggle with staffing levels and this causes mistakes in the orders and the slow service. Shame they used to be very good. They also seem to have problems with broken equipment. The coffee machine rarely works and they have a temporary refrigerator unit out on the carpark. We used to come here every Friday morning for breakfast for years, but it got so bad here, we go elsewhere now.

Sadly must have hit this place on a bad day. Service was slow. Ended up using the app to order as no one was at the bar to serve. Ordered 2 identical burger meals, one came with onion rings the other didn't have any. The chicken was over cooked to the point you could just taste a burnt taste. And the chicken was very dry. Ordered a bottled drink which I drank straight from the bottle because the glass looked filthy. Didn't seem particularly busy. Been here before and every thing was fine. Not up to usual standard. Also don't bother buying a pitcher of mocktail/ juice , the amount of ice put in the jug considerably reduced the volume of drink. Didn't even get 2 glasses full. Would have worked out cheaper to buy 2 glasses instead.

Haven't visited in a while, but shoe makers wasn't upto par like it used to be. No complaints about the service or staff, always helpful etc. However the waiting time for the food was over 40 minutes. And after all that it wasn't upto it's usual standards. Also the toilets were sticky and the main door handle was broken. I'm afraid to say that I won't be visiting again any time soon.

The food was awful. Mini mixed grill was disgusting. Chips were fine. Sausages horrendous. Gammon tough. Chicken barely cooked. Everything a bit cold. Quality of ingredients low. Disappointed because it has a decent vibe and some dishes look decent.

Popped in for a drink, wanted something more then my usual. Kevin the manager was really happy to help, he asked his barman what can go in different drinks. The barman's was a hit, mango dead man's finger was amazing with lemonade. Thank you lads, I am now full of summer.

Excellent food for the money not much atmosphere

Lovely restaurant with reasonable prices, fast service, polite staff, would totally recommend full english breakfast. Drink options are also plentiful. Overall, definitely worth a visit especially if need to feed the family. There is an outdoor area as well.

Just had their quadzilla burger, excellent value for money and cooked really well. Thank you for yet another lovely meal.

Regular customers are not even properly served .Especially on Thursday.Waited for more than 20 minutes for getting a pudding . Two minutes gone to Twenty . Need to ask two or three times to get it served . I don’t think this is good service in the hotel industry. More than 8 months 4times a month visited. Delicious dishes to Normal taste . Quantity tremendously changes. More to Low may be as a part of Cost cutting. Gradual increase in price . Items missing on dishes . Need to ask to get it served just because we had this earlier from the same restaurant. Such an awful experience. Thank you for awesome services .

I've been coming to this place for a while, but man, the service has seriously gone downhill. The waitstaff barely pay attention, and good luck getting your food on time. It's like they've forgotten how to be waiters! You place an order, and then it’s like playing a game of chance—if you’re lucky, you might get your meal in 30 minutes, but don’t hold your breath. Honestly, it's just not worth the hassle anymore. What a shame!

Super place! Had a nice family lunch for my brother in law’s 60th birthday party lunch. staff were really friendly, and made everyone - including our dog - super welcome. Such a nice atmosphere. Doubly good, because there was some problem with their store-freezer, (I noticed a hire-freezer outside), and they had a restricted menu. But despite that, the staff were super clear, and dinner was nice and drinks were reasonable, as were the afters! Other diners were also happy and friendly. All in all a lovely place for a family get-together. Thanks She Makers!!! It is the super-nice staff who make this such a great place!!

Had a lovely 60th birthday lunch for my brother in law. Was a lovey meal and a really nice atmosphere. There was some problem with the freezers (a hire-freezer was outside), so they had a restricted menu - but was still lovely and staff were all super-clear and super helpful. Couldn’t hardly have been nicer!!!

Terrible food waited over a hour for cold roast dinners and then waited for the next ones which were not better either pigs in blanket fatty and undercooked just a horrible meal in total very disappointed would. Never go back or recomend

Second visit in two days. While they were running a limited menus due to delivery issues the food we had was lovely. You can tell the staff are trying their best and we’re friendly. Michael was especially helpful.

Came for dinner after not visiting for a few years. The last time we came it wasn’t great but thought we’d try again, food this time round was lovely, took a little while to come but was well worth the wait. Piping hot, loads of food for the money and the service was excellent! The young man behind the bar with the curly hair helped bring our drinks to the table and also helped us order our desserts. Excellent service from him and we cannot wait to return.

The new GM Stacy has been a breath of fresh air, dishes and cutlery are clean, food is hot, fresh and tasty and customer service is where is should be, above and beyond and customers are treated with dignity and respect, hope she stays

The staff are lovely and very friendly it is good value for money l thoroughly recommend.

This has been our local for a long time however lately it has been lacking in atmosphere which is a shame. The bar area used to be very busy especially on weekends for football/rugby. We do still however have the lovely Ashley serving behind the bar. She goes over and above to make you welcome & knows which drinks we want before asking. If you could get 10 off Ashley I am sure the place would thrive again.

Food was disappointing. Burger was drenched in sauce. Two of our meals had eyelashes in them! Chips weren't cooked properly and meat in the pie was chewy.

Me and my husband always pop in when we are in the area. As soon as we enter we are greeted with a smile and polite service. Food is delicious and even the chef came out to us today to serve our food. Someone always comes over to make sure we are ok and if we need anything else. We have always felt comfortable and welcome. Would definitely recommend shoemakers to family or friends for a drink or meal.

We had the Sunday Roast Beef meal, The beef was stringy, vegetables were over cooked and the mash potato was stodgy and lumpy. I think the whole meal was micro waved, well that what it tasted like. When I complained they replaced the mash potato with another stodgy lumpy piece. I also complained at the end of our meal and told the waitress that it was the worse roast dinner we had in a very long time. Would avoid at all cost, I suppose you get what you pay for,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Great night apart from Arsenal being 5 up at half time. Barmaid Ashley was lovely, friendly and efficient. Food server Macy was great too. Very impressed. Totally recommend.

Very slow to get out food, told half an hour wait was 50 minutes which wasn't helpful with 3 hungry children. No apologies given. Food wasn't hot when it came out, tasted fine but nothing particularly exceptional. Play Area was ok but noticeable damage to rope bridge was concerning.

The food here is the sort you would expect from a chain - basic pub food, good value for money. The staff here are always really friendly and accommodating.

Great pub to watch the euro semis. Shame that they only had 1 cask ale. We'd heard that they had a great choice. However, the IPA was fine and the England score even better 😉🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Been using this place for years now, and we always absolutely loved the food, service and atmosphere. However, recently, the place has gone downhill. Food not as good as it used to be, dirty tables, sticky and stained menus, food on the floor, etc. Since the departure of the last manager, it is nothing like it used to be. So from now on, we will leave it for a while and go somewhere else, hopefully, it will get back to what it used to be, only time will tell.

Good took a long time to come out, chips had been refried multiple times and were burnt, sweet potato curry and rice was dry and unappetising. Glasses and cutlery were dirty and drink had been filled over an inch from the top. Staff were friendly and smiley and drink service was prompt.

Ridiculous, this is the third time we’ve came at a very reasonable time and been turned away despite the restaurant is basically empty! Are Greene King going out of business? How does this happen so often?

This was our 43rd wedding anniversary, so we went to our local. From the moment we went in we felt very welcomed. We found out it is under new managment, if this is the standard we willl go more often. The meal was great and the service was excellent. We would recomend it to anyone.

Very disappointed with the service and the food there was things missing off are plates they dropped some of my Daughters chips on the floor and didn't offer to get any more the gammon was dry the egg well see the pictures they had no Onion rings that goes with are food overall very disappointed unbelievable they have not even got back to me after me sending emails and I gave my personal number nothing 😡😡

Not sure what chain this pub belongs to but my lord they need to look at this pub and give it some help. I counted two staff members in total on a packed out Friday lunch time. The queue was at least 15 seperate people waiting to order with only one poor chap behind the bar dealing with it all, I could hear the amount of abuse he was getting from certain customers and what seemed like regulars! I have never felt so sorry for someone who continued to smile and serve people politely! The food wasn’t great but I didn’t expect much better after the hassle of just trying to order it. This pub used to be lovely, a lot has changed

Local to work couldn’t be more welcoming Today I was served by a member of staff called Dev and honestly the service was exceptional. He made me & all my colleagues feel welcome & catered to our every need. Lovely man that mixes professionalism with friendly banter and really made our day. Cheers dev!
