What can I say, ordered meal at bar, no beef roast at 1pm on a Sunday, but settled for turkey, 25 minutes after ordering enquired where the food was, assured it was being plated right then, but took its time, seems the order had literally just landed in the kitchen 8 minutes before we asked where it was, how is that? Ordered extra cauliflower cheese it was alright roasties were small and probably a bit under done ordered extra spuds, still small and pig in blankets came out in my husbands meal and not.mine and a sausage short was assured they'd bring another portion only to bring 1 sausage to make the portion. Asked for extra hot meals, not bad they were hot enough for me to not make any further complaints, oh and it was freezing in there I had to have.my coat on my lap to keep me warm, toilets were a bit yucky 2 out of the 4 were clogged with wee and paper, hubby had a pudding and then we left, caution to people you get what you pay for, more like a school dinner than a restaurant meal, won't go there again for a while, probably great for a snack or burger or fish finger and chips for the kids

This restaurant has SO much potential to smash it, but I felt tonight they were very understaffed. There was a lot of tissues, and food on the floors, being a family establishment it wasn't pleasant to take my 2 young girls to, there were multiple tables that needed clearing and wiping. I can honestly say I saw a maximum of 5 front of house staff running the place on a Saturday evening. Dealing with food and serving drink orders and delivering food. I want to say they were all very dedicated, welcoming, and lovely. The food we received was not quite up to standard but was soon rectified on good terms. The staff here are doing a really great job, but please get them more help! 🙏🏼

Very disappointed to say the least. 10 of us on a Sunday evening spending £150 on food alone ALL meals came out Luke warm/cold. Sat quite near kitchen area, could hear lots of foul language and inappropriate so called joking coming from the kitchen! Nobody came out once to see if meals were ok hence didn’t complain at the time We are not a prudish family by any means but the stuff coming from the kitchen ( not only the food) was unacceptable

I have just had a MIX IT UP steak sizzler at The Shoemakers. I can honestly say that the steak was better than a well known Steak House located in Norwich!!! The service was provided by friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Also good value for money.

Went in for a meal with the mrs on monday night and could not recommend enough! Value for money was top notch and an extra thank you goes to Harrison who could not have been more helpful. Made it a fun and memorable experience, will definitely be back!

We had a terrible experience here. We waited for absolutely ages to receive our food. We planned to go shopping at the Asda nearby after eating, but they were closed once we were finished here as they took so long. For desert (which also took an age to arrive), we ordered a vegan apple crumble but what we got was a regular apple crumble containing dairy. We do not eat dairy. Unfortunately we only noticed after eating several spoonfuls. The staff member we spoke to was nice and offered to refund our main and drinks and replace the desert. We agreed and were handed a refund receipt yet almost two weeks later, the money was never received. This place is truly terrible and appears to have gone downhill massively. The cutlery is also in an absolutely vial state with food stuck to it.

I had the pleasure of dining at the Shoemakers with my grandparents, and it was a lovely experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and impeccable service. The food was delicious and my grandparents were particularly impressed. Special mention must go to Harrison, who not only provided flawless service but also went out of his way to make our experience extra special. His friendly demeanour and helpful recommendations made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a good meal with excellent service.

We have had a booking and pre-order booked here for a very very long time,, we don’t usually complain or write bad feedback but we generally feel robbed of our money this year at your restaurant! We all paid in full and had our choices way in before your deadline. On the day we were mixed up with other guests.! Our food came to the wrong table, was left on the table and then brought to us once they realised they had mixed up tables! The food had gotten cold as we had waited a very long time already! We know a lot of the food is frozen and just reheated but still would’ve expected slightly better quality as it was Christmas Day and we were paying a lot more than usual! The staff and waitresses were all over the place and seemed to lack any care for the customers sitting in their restaurant We know it’s busy and a busy time of year but just being friendly doesn’t go a miss. This has really put me and my mum and my whole family off coming back here even for a regular meal :(

What a lovely pub to stop off whilst we were passing by on Boxing Day after the local NCFC football match. A hidden gem of a pub. Very pleasant helpful landlord Kev. Very nice pub food at great prices. And this pub is spotlessly clean and warm too. Very nice thank you.

Walked in at 8pm on Boxing Day and Kevin was so warm, welcoming and lovely. We got good quality food at a great price.

After booking and paying nearly £60 each we were expecting a lovely meal. How wrong we were. We booked and paid in full at the time of booking in November. Chose our food menu a week later and was told in person by the man in the pub that we were all done and look forward to seeing you on Christmas Day. 1 week before Christmas we received a phone call stating that we hadn’t paid and we hadn’t chosen our meal choices and if we don’t do them by today our table would be cancelled and deposit lost. After explaining that we had done all of that they said ok and goodbye. Seemed like it was off to a bad start. Christmas Day came and all seemed to be ok, when it came to the food arriving, there was clearly some mixups going on and the young lady brining our food looked flustered. She was the only person we saw bringing out the food and it wasn’t delivered together, there was lengthy delays between food being delivered and other tables were being served all at different times with lots of half tables eating while others weren’t. There was a lot of shouting coming from the kitchen area (I’m ok with this as I’m sure it’s a stressful day) but clearly there had been some mistakes made. Regardless of all of that, customers paying nearly £60 per person expect a lot more from a service point of view. Staff were friendly enough and the food was good. But there was quite clearly a lack of management and direction on the day. I wouldn’t rebook for a Christmas lunch but I would pop in for a different occasion.

Amazing experience today, myself & my partner both had roast beef, both cooked perfectly, staff are friendly & attentive. We wasn't keen to return after a bad experience, but today has reassured us, we will be back Sophie & George were exceptional

Service was so slow and overcomplicated for what it was. We ordered two of the same steaks and they somehow came out as different meals. And not only that the steaks were absolutely terrible and not cooked to how we had asked them to be cooked. The plates were burnt and had old food stuck to them. How that can pass an inspection, I don’t know.

My friend and I visited for lunch after doing some shopping. We were greeted by friendly staff who although were the only two on table duties served us a delicious meal on hot plates. There was a very friendly atmosphere there. I recommend and would go again.

Lovely evening at The Shoemakers tonight. Staff were very accommodating particularly Harrison and Bradley. Sunday roast was delicious and very affordable. Would definitely recommend.

Me & my family came this afternoon for lunch & despite having issues with staff, the two that were working were exceptional, the food was lovely, crown of burgers for £10 on a Saturday, you can’t complain We will be back again 😌

The food was fantastic it was a really busy night and the staff were very busy especially the bar manager who was making sure the customers got a great experience and still had time to come over and ask if the food was ok and we were ok. Have been coming here for some time now, but not anymore! No staff! Long waiting times for food! Standard of food is no longer as it was! Don't know what has happened to this place but we hardly come anymore, second time tonight we have came for food and left due to the long wait for food and lack of staff

Get what you pay for.. cheap breakfast looked good but was cold and tasted bad . staff minimal so not surprised theres no atmosphere and no one to tell my food was bad. surprised as this is big chain and naturally expected way better. i dont usually come out to eat often, but will probably recommend only coming here if youre not a fussy eater and dont mind budget meals and budget service

Do tend to run out of a lot of things and the pool table needs replacing.run out of coke on the pump Again then get charged £3 for a tiny 330ml bottle rip off.Food came out cold, burgers over cooked like cardboard.Time to get a better cook maybe. We eat and drink here twice a week. Now looking for a better place to go to.Shame as service good staff great and very friendly 😞

Me and my partner went to hungry horse last night for a date night bear in mind we had been before and everything was okay and fine ! But last night wasn’t my partners meal wasn’t cooked properly! I wanted to say something to the staff but my partner said it looked okay I tried telling him it wasn’t but he carried on and ate his meal get home later that night he then gets food poisoning and we had to have a ambulance out! So please check your food and if someone says it’s not right listen and complain!

Went for a roast with my mum the gravy was like a chemical tasting so they took it back and bought back x2 lasagne which was like slop not cooked it was disgusting they also didn’t have what I order for starter will not be coming back the pigs in blankets well if you can call them that they looked like something off of the I’m a celebrity jungle will not be going back there waste of my money

We went here optimistic. The place had been decent here before for cheap, easy food as we live nearby and kids like the food. unfortunately, it was not good here. We ordered for a child with milk allergies, believing that it was fine as he'd had the nuggets here before. Unfortunately, the waitstaff failed to check the ingredients. It took 30 minutes to see a waiter and we were informed that due toa a menu change, milk had been added to the chicken nuggets. 30 minutes to tell us that. They didn't check to see if he could have it. We will not be going here again.

Was a really weird experience to feel bad for the team as they are so busy and all work so hard, but yeah we're so polite good with the kids and all smiling. Our food came a lot quicker than we were advised and to a surprise was so hot, we were all generally shocked! The likeliness of us all coming back is pretty high!

Service was okay, food was horrible, I ordered a stake and it was as hard as a rock and not made to what I asked for. Servers made rude remarks about my order and said they wouldn’t change it to my make my life better

Sadly must have hit this place on a bad day. Service was slow. Ended up using the app to order as no one was at the bar to serve. Ordered 2 identical burger meals, one came with onion rings the other didn't have any. The chicken was over cooked to the point you could just taste a burnt taste. And the chicken was very dry. Ordered a bottled drink which I drank straight from the bottle because the glass looked filthy. Didn't seem particularly busy. Been here before and every thing was fine. Not up to usual standard. Also don't bother buying a pitcher of mocktail/ juice , the amount of ice put in the jug considerably reduced the volume of drink. Didn't even get 2 glasses full. Would have worked out cheaper to buy 2 glasses instead.

Great food when they have it, very friendly staff but regularly run out of the food on the menu. When they do have it service is slow. They seem to struggle with staffing levels and this causes mistakes in the orders and the slow service. Shame they used to be very good. They also seem to have problems with broken equipment. The coffee machine rarely works and they have a temporary refrigerator unit out on the carpark. We used to come here every Friday morning for breakfast for years, but it got so bad here, we go elsewhere now.

Haven't visited in a while, but shoe makers wasn't upto par like it used to be. No complaints about the service or staff, always helpful etc. However the waiting time for the food was over 40 minutes. And after all that it wasn't upto it's usual standards. Also the toilets were sticky and the main door handle was broken. I'm afraid to say that I won't be visiting again any time soon.

The food was awful. Mini mixed grill was disgusting. Chips were fine. Sausages horrendous. Gammon tough. Chicken barely cooked. Everything a bit cold. Quality of ingredients low. Disappointed because it has a decent vibe and some dishes look decent.

Popped in for a drink, wanted something more then my usual. Kevin the manager was really happy to help, he asked his barman what can go in different drinks. The barman's was a hit, mango dead man's finger was amazing with lemonade. Thank you lads, I am now full of summer.
