Pre-order my lunch to be served but ended up waiting for 15 min. Staff kept lying about it ready and i didn’t even had a table. What a waste of time

Today it's Christmas & they spoil our mood,we regularly visit the restaurant & coming from Coventry but today the man is really rude he is new might be or don't know how to run. We already call them before 2hrs & we reached they told us we have to reserve a table what the hell n offer us corner table that no one likes if you tell us on phone then why we are coming so long... Sorry but not acceptable might be you lost a customer

The worst experience as they don't value our time. I called this restaurant at 3:30 pm and asked about a walk in as I am driving from coventry and it's Christmas day. A person responded that timing will be normal but if it's quiet then it will close at 9:00 PM. I clearly mentioned that we are coming from Coventry to dine but when we reached the restaurant I got to know that its full and give a side table which I requested for to change as we aren't comfortable on it than he told me this is the last one else everything is booked. Why can't a person on the phone not mention this in the beginning, wasting our time and fuel. Since last couple of years we are consistently visiting this place but this is the worst experience we ever had, from now onwards we never ever visit this place again.

First time in this place..tried this one as Chaipaani just see.s to be getting more & more expensive with not much change in menu. Went to Shiv Sagar to get a takeaway, had masali chai & nimbu paani whilst waiting - both were yummy. Food was tasty, amazingly soft & tasty naan, food on the spicier side eventhough we asked for mild...we will surely give this place another go!

I ordered a Gobi Manchurian on 6 /11/24. It was a disaster. No taste at all. When I escalated it, the staffs gave me very poor response.

Raj & Jay were just amazing! They were so kind the way they helped my mum get into the restaurant (wheelchair user). The service they offered was exemplary…. Very polite, attentive, professional & friendly & offered excellent dish recommendations when asked. The service from start to finish was 5* and the paneer was delicious! Thanks!

We absolutely love this place. I am gluten free and really impressed with menu detail. Food taste excellent every time we come which is usually weekly. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The restaurant is clean with hindi songs playing in the background. Lovely vibe.

Loved the food, feels like eating in India

Honestly I didn't expect this restaurant to food to be this bad. We ordered chilli paneer and we also asked to "make it very mild please" you would expect something favourable but not at all spicy.But when i opened the containter it was loaded with chilli flakes .It was the more spicier than anything else.

I recently ordered Mix Veg and Dal Makhni, but both dishes were unbearably spicy and inedible. I was extremely disappointed as I couldn’t enjoy the meal. Please ensure better quality control to avoid such experiences in the future.

Absolutely favourite Indian restaurant in Leicester. Food is always 10/10, VERY tasty, cooked fast, generous portion sizes, and fantastic service - you are never left waiting, whether this is to order, receive food, or anything else you need. Can't recommend enough - definitely book if you are going on a busy weekend as it's always very busy with queue, but well worth it! Also, thank you to our favourite waiter Raj - always goes out of his way to make sure we have a great meal, very knowledgeable and helpful, and service with a smile! Went for a dosa with my girls, our dhal was brown in colour, don't know why? The dhal we ordered with chawal had too much garlic. Girls flauda was so small for the price we paid. All 3 of us ended up with stomach upset. I don't think I can go there again.

Everything is good but their behavior is very Rude when you Order online. They don't provide Cutlery if you add extra information about providing Cutlery Napkins Disposable Plates etc... why they ask for it if they don't want to provide it. I have moved to the new house so I don't have utensils and all the stuff so i ordered online food with mentioned "provide utensils" on my order. Even Chocolate Milkshake (worst quality shake) doesn't provide 1 Straw. No spoon for Curd with Veg Biryani. Don't give a fork for Dry Manchurian. Below average experience with Shiv Sagar Restaurant online order. When i called them they said we are not responsible for that in rude way.

The takeaway was initially supposed to be delivered in 30 mins and which was then moved by another 40 mins. Surprisingly the order was not ready even after that and I had to wait for another 10 mins. The food is not that great.

Overall foods is better and tasty but they use special things to make their tasty like hair etc.

We popped in for a nice cup of masala chai and light snacks, as we came to Leicester for some retail shopping……to say we were disappointed would be an understatement, the tea that was served must have been brewed and reheated so many times during the day, it’s taste was foul (and even though we asked for sugar free, we were told that it’s not an option); the Bhel Puri was tasteless, very dry and would not say it resembled what Bhel Puri should be. To cap it all, my wife needed to use the washroom facilities, totally disgusting and felt like the facilities were something you would find in a very deprived 3rd world country… So not a place that I would ever recommend to any friends or family

We went this restaurant i dont know how they get 4.2 ratings according to me its 3.0 rating. We ordered Mumbai special Pav Bhaji (in this bhaji was not good) , Vada pav (filling has so much oil) , Mysore masala Dosa (in this Oil was too much & dosa was little bit hard i think it was made by dosa machine nd sambhar was also not good ) , Dry Veg manchurian ( This was also not good nd in gravy its full of cabbage ) & In Mains we ordered Dal Makhani (Was good) , Kadhai Paneer( Was too much oil) nd Tandoori roti (was soft ).

Just full of oil paneer burji and methi malai paneer was full of salt and there was kind of sand and stones while eating, we had to throw instead of eating, awful experience,😱

I have been to this restaurant many times and it is one of best Indian restaurants in Leicester I usually order veg kolhapuri and it is always delicious even the garlic naan and the lassi is delicious even the mango ice cream is delicious every item here is delicious I recommend this place every time I come to Leicester I come here to eat lunch

Always loads of people here and all vegetarian which works for anyone in the family. The food is amazing as well as the portion sizes, i would recommend this place to anyone, however one small complaint is at times there can be a lack of coordination between waiters. There is always this one female waiter and she is always there when I go with my mum and she treats us amazingly.

This restaurant exceeded expectations in every way. The food was excellent, offering a delightful culinary experience. Arpit provided amazing service, elevating the overall dining experience. Considering the quality of both food and service, it was definitely worth the money spent. Highly recommended for those seeking a memorable meal.

First time experience was great during 2023 Diwali celebrations. Loved the sev poori . Manchurian and dosè were okay. Overall I felt bits a paradise for vegetarians. . This August 2024, I see the taste has reduced. Garlic Naan could be a lot better. Roti very chewy. Sabji ( gravy ) quantity was very less. Mango Lassi was okay. . We ordered hakka noodles take away and had to wait an hour or more. They priotozed serving people on table. Once bill was paid including the take away, they didn't care much about us waiting long. Noodles was horrible. So much ginger in it , couldn't eat more than a spoon.

Absolutely beautiful authentic Indian restaurant, great service too. The food was extremely tasty and flavoursome given this is a completely vegetarian restaurant 😋 The paneer dish was delicious ( paneer mukanwala ), probably one of the best curries I have eaten that is coming from a meat eater to ! ( and I have eaten many curries!!! ) My daughter really loved the indo Chinese and kept saying to the passing staff how much she enjoyed it by telling them or simply giving them a thumbs up nodding her head as she ate it 🤣 . The place was really busy, could feel over crowded for some, the portions were reasonable & the prices were a bit on the higher side given it was just vegetable dishes but I guess that was made up in the flavour of the dishes we had. Our only disappointment was the falooda. It was slightly watery. Besides that everything was amazing 👏🏼 We will definitely return and recommend to family & friends

We went on a culinary adventure here and ordered a mix that would make any fusion-lover proud: Paneer Lababdaar, Manchurian Gravy, Hakka Noodles, Idli Sambhar, Chilli Naan, and just to cover all our bases, we threw in a Mango Lassi and an Oreo Milkshake for good measure. The Paneer Lababdaar was so creamy, it could double as a moisturizer. The Manchurian Gravy was spicy enough to make you rethink all your life choices but in a good way. And the Hakka Noodles? They had so much flavor, even the noodles were dancing! The Idli Sambhar was so soft it felt like biting into a cloud—if clouds were made of deliciousness. The Chilli Naan? It had the perfect kick, making it the Bruce Lee of naans. The service was faster than a cheetah on espresso, and the staff was so friendly, I almost invited them to my wedding. Plus, there's convenient parking right across the road, so no need to practice your parallel parking skills in public. All in all, if you’re in Leicester and NOT eating at Shiv Sagar, are you even living?

Best place for chat lovers. Must try sev puri, bombay bel chat, kachori chat was OK ok, but other 2 chats were yummy. First time I tested such an unique place for chats. Service was excellent, service people were friendly. During peak times some what croudy, specially during weekend, evenings. Good atmosphere. Family friendly atmosphere. Tried other dishes as well like dosa, Channa bathure, veg fried rice.

Came in for Dinner with the kids.Absolutely loved the variety of Indian street food, which were full of flavour. Service is very professional, attentive, and smiley,Specially Jay were super friendly and welcoming. Good things first, service was quick and staff is friendly. The atmosphere is still manageable although seating could be more relaxed, it feels cramped up inside. Unfortunately, that's all the good things I can say about the restaurant because their weakest link is the food. It seems they don't know how to prepare food. 1. Kaju curry - Never try this ! I regretted ordering it after eating, but could not even finish it full it was so bad. 2. Naan - Their naan tasted like they served frozen Asda naan after reheating. 3. Rose Lassi - Filled with artificial flavours, and some real nuts like pista but overload of cardamom and sugar makes it undrinkable.

THE BEST VEG RESTAURANT IN LEICESTER. Trust me i am a foodie. Recently my mom dad came from India for holiday and one of my friend suggested this restaurant to me. So we went there and it was the most amazing experience i ever had. We went for lunch and had below items( everything is recommended 100%) Starters: masala papad 4.5/5 dry manchurian 5/5 Chinese Bhel 5/5 Main course: Chole bhature 5/5 Pav bhaji 5/5 Chinese noodles 3/5 Sweet: Rose faluda 3.5/5 (to much sabja and siwayya so reduced the rating) We all enjoyed having lunch with Indian taste Must visit atlest once (you will visit again for sure 🤭) Mayur Dalvi.

Extremely busy place to find a table, but for a reason, we have to all the eateries on that street, and nothing beats them, a truly consistent life when it comes to quality and taste. We have been massively let done at other places on that street over the years when it comes to trying different places, but we always come back to Shiv-Sagar when we crave some Indian street style junk 😉

Worst place to come and enjoy peacefully. No food coming hot ! Falooda coming with melted ice cream . No tissues. No water. No service. Waiters just not paying attention and then coming and speaking in language which we dont even know. Worst place NEVER GO EVER

We were there for more than 1 hr - ordered around 4-5 dishes which took 1.5 hrs coming one by one ! Only one person was able to eat at one time which is not a reason people come to restaurant together ! As shown we didn’t got water even though we were asking for the whole time.

Very bad service on the first floor. They just can’t handle crowd - the staff is also not using English language they are using some gujarati sort of language Which is but obviously not understandable. Very disappointing service. People visit a restaurant to eat together and enjoy together and these people served everyone separately none of us enjoyed everyone had meal separately. First made us in different table and then came to say this one is booked you have to move like literally. Please guys if u wanna enjoy ur family meal time don’t visit here.

Nice restaurant. I didn't have any waiting time on Sunday evening. Service is quick, servers are polite and attentive. Food is great. Though the cabbage and onion were very sharp and overpowering the flavours, we enjoyed hakka noodles, manchurian. Interestingly, paneer tikka masala was a coconut based gravy 😳 It was yummy though. It felt like dining in India when the onion, fried chilli, and lemon was served alongside the main course 😊

Encontré este lugar, en una parada en la Milla de Oro en Leicester. Un restaurante puramente vegetariano con platos que también atraerán a los consumidores de carne. Comida sabrosa, precio razonable, personal amable. La bebida Shikanji era absolutamente increíble, sin embargo, algunos de los platos solo un poco más condimentado en términos de calor. Limpio, pero la decoración y el inodoro podría hacer con un poco de actualización para mejorar el ambiente. Vendría de nuevo por una rápida solución de curry.
