Shiv Sagar Veg Restaurant in Leicester

Visited on Hanuman jayanti day. It was busy even in the early evening. The food tasted as delicious as we heard from other people. Prices are also good. I just give one less star for food because some unusual thing came in my food but they sorted out very quickly so service was great. Hopefully we'll visit soon.

The food at this restaurant left much to be desired. Not only was it uninspired and bland, but the prices were ridiculously high for what was essentially a lackluster dining experience. Save your money and find a better option elsewhere.The prices were exorbitant, especially considering the mediocre quality of the food. I felt like I was being overcharged for a meal that I could have made better at home for a fraction of the cost.I will avoid going there again.

Reservations are not honoured. But good food.

There is no point of making reservations, you will be still waiting.

The staff was very nice and the food was lovely. I highly recommend going to this amazing restaurant. Also because it is pure veg which helped us a lot.

Food was tasty, I did like pav bhaji, dabeli, just Vada pav was not my taste but still not bad.

I went here for lunch with some friends to catch up after a long time The food and service was great however the music was so loud that you can't hear any conversations you have between people and the noise level just keeps going higher and higher as people as trying to talk above the music. I would love to come back to eat here if you could please just lower the music in the background so people can enjoy there conversations on a normal level . Thnakyou

Looking for Breakfast or Brunch when in Leicester than this place is for you. 100% pure veg with many options made me feel nostalgic about Sunday brunch in india as a child. Their pav bhaji and raj wadi mango lassi was the best. Their indo Chinese options were also good and delicious. They confirmed the allergy and spice level before taking order is much appreciated. Loved the vibe of the place. Pocket friendly indian street food 🫡

Had an excellent meal here. We ordered the sev puri, dabeli, chilli garlic Mogo and Chinese Bhel with Mango Lassi and Mango Falooda. The food was brought out quickly and hot. All items were tasty and service was excellent too.

Fantastic food with a lot of variety from south to North Indian food.Really like the starter foods and the main.Would heavily recommend Paneer Tikka lababdaar. Although the sweet lassi wasn’t really sweet the rose falooda made up for.The prices were very fair.VERY NICE would highly recommend it!!!

Been many times eating different items and always find the food tasting great and value excellent, they have a decent menu from south indian, north Indian and indochinese, it will be a while before you get bored of eating here

Food is really delicious I come from London and I try veg Manchurian which was really good and paneer tikka Mashala with perfect gravy and staff was nice and polite I would like to visit again and as a pure vegetarian this place is best.

We visited this restaurant this evening with family and had an excellent experience! Food was tasty and amazing, customer service was fantastic and very quick service. Prices very reasonable and very busy restaurant which is always a great sign of a good restaurant. Highly recommended and great experience!

We visited this place on Wednesday evening they were not busy at all , we had to wait more than half an hour to just order food even though few staff were waiting around, once the food arrived everything we ordered was too oily to eat. we ordered a bottle of water 3 times for our son however we never received it but they never forget to add it in the bill. Not only this, table next to us requested a salt but restaurant staff keep dropping it to our table to which those customers were not happy with staff service either. We are not happy with either food or customer service , won’t be visiting this place again and definitely wont be recommending to anyone.

We visited this restaurant yesterday, awesome ambience and superb music staff is so polite and helpful. we ordered chinese Bhel, Paneer lababdar, garlic naan. everything is tochnote test is superb just like India for me. this is the best restaurant in town. my family loves it we specially come from Crawley and I just love it.

I visited last night chat was okay but don’t try noodles there noodles not fresh i vomit after eating noodles

I ordered pav bhaji, dosa, and Schezwan Manchurian noodles. The pav bhaji, highly recommended, truly stood out. The paper dosa was satisfying, although the sambar and chutney fell short of expectations. On the bright side, the Schezwan Manchurian was a delight, while the noodles were acceptable.

We were lucky enough to be seated upstairs, away from the hustle and bustle of downstairs. I have to admit that I was incredibly surprised at the speed of service, and just as surprised at the quality of the food and portions. The standouts for me were the chilli mushrooms and Hakka noodles. My wife loved the daim Purim and the milkshake. We only really ordered from the indo-chinese section; we were just all to full for any more. I personally enjoyed the food so much I forgot to take pictures. Our party of 22 were overall very pleased. I personally will return again.

My second visit here. Food is okayish vada pav was excellent Masala dosa was fine but green chutney lacks desired texture was too runny and coconut chutney too. Service: bad service no polite customer care it’s a basic fundamental in hospitality. I didn’t feel welcome after settle down. They seem ignoring the in house customers waved three times then got my attention. Although It was not even that busy or full house. The girl with the glasses and black T-shirt working in the corner didn’t know how to talk with three customer politely as I asked her about sugar in the tea. Very rude customer care I would say. Chefs doing excellent job hence front of the staffs are unprofessional and rude and smile after ?

Chole bhature was not good. They uses ready made bhature instead of making it.

Had ordered Paul bhaji followed by uttapam. Paul bhaji arrived with 2 pieces of tiniest bread and no cutlery which I had to ask for. Waited about twenty minutes for uttapam and staff how long it might take. He went to the kitchen and came back saying they are making it now.....It wasn't that busy...eventually when it arrived a knife was put flat on the uttapam, no spoon for sambar.....was getting dirty looks from staff, as if I should not be asking for cutlery or chasing for uttapam.....staff have total lack of service, do not seem interested in doing their work, no smiles....before leaving I spoke to the lady head waiter and all she had to say is that she is trying hard to train them....its a shame because the food is great, good ambience and clean but let down by watering.....The business owner needs to get mystery shoppers to check the restaurant at different times and on different days.....Business owner, if you are reading this and want a mystery shopper I will do it.

Place and staff : Been there in afternoon time with family, the place was quite busy but got the table easily, staff was quite friendly and polite, also did not have to wait for the food for long, the atmosphere was also good. Food: We tried chole bhature, Masala dosa and shiv sagar special dosa, and 2 different flavours of falooda. Overall it was good however, the chole quantity was not enough for bhutras so had to order another plate. With regards to dosas, they were good size and tasty but the sambar was not well blended, have eaten dosas/ sambar at many other places so I could tell the difference. They need to work more on their sambar recipe. Finally the falooda was tasty, full of flavours however the glass seems big but the quantity does not reflect the price you get charged. I hope they take this feedback positively and grow more as it is a good family dine out place overall.

Very Unprofessional and unethical way of doing business.came all the way from Nottingham and said we are closed for eat in for today.they should be informing their customer by at least changing hours of opening on google.

Really nice Indian food, the spices are spot on, and the staff are friendly. My only improvement would be that the portions could be slightly bigger for the main courses.

Vast selection of vegetarian food items…seating is cramped and looks like a greasy cafe but ultimately to food, is what you go for, which matches any 5* hotel food.

Good restaurant with good services but taste was ok, Tanduri roti, dosa and Hakka noodles NOT recommended. Butter Nan was good 👍. Drinks were good

We went yesterday at this restaurant with a group of almost 10people and I must say I found one with perfect indian taste. Food here, was amazing and the ambience was also very nice. I really like the food here so it is a shame I’m having to write this review. I have ordered from this place 2 times recently and both times 1 item has been missing from my order. I’m yet to hear back from Uber if I can get my money but this is such careless handling. Both times the order value was £40+ and a main dish was missing. This needs to be fixed, when I contacted the restaurant they’re claiming they’ve put it there but it’s not here so they weren’t helpful at all. Terrible customer service.

My husband and I both went to Shiv sagar for dinner on Sunday. I came home and vomited myhusband was fine on Sunday night but today he had body aches really high fever and stomach ache. We were both completely fine before we ate there. I probably just got lucky and vomited everything on Sunday night but husband is really ill. he hasn’t eaten anything since. We won’t ever be visiting here again.

The food prices were really fair. Good portion of food. If you want a homely feel of india, definitely recommend this place. Quite delicious and tasty as well. Only thing is they have limited amount of tables so i recommend booking in advance or you might have to wait for like 15-20 minutes. Good customer service.
