Fabulous authentic Turkish restaurant in Woodford serving complimentary starters, excellent food that's reasonably priced & Turkish tea offered free of charge. Although the alcohol is a bit pricey £8.45 for a large house red which is Turkish wine & pleased to say it was good, EFES £6.45

My first time here but unfortunately I won't be returning. The portion sizes are extremely small and on the stingy side, certainly not worth the price. I also found regulars were offered Turkish tea afterwards but we weren't and I even saw the waiter tell 2 customers that they could have their starters on the house. I am not looking for freebies but I didn't appreciate that.

Had a lovely lunch from the lunch menu. Great value and service. I’ve been been back for lunch several times and have chatted to the owners. It is a family business which makes me like it even more. I always have the lamb kebab from the lunch menu. Delicious!

We have been coming since the first day it opened. The food is fantastic. The service is friendly and you always get a warm welcome. They will try to accommodate you if you haven't booked even at busy times. It is advisable to book as it gets busy. If you want a variety of dishes I would recommend the Shish Platter. You can always take home what you don't eat. We will be returning very soon.

Good was not very hot but tasted very good service was attentive table given was next to the toilet drinks expensive overall s bit pricey for s kabab at almost £100 per head there are much better places to eat and drink for a local Turkish restaurant

Been here with the 3 grandkids, staff were brilliant, kids were really looked after, very attentive. Food is superb and really good value. I highly recommend the Turkish red. A cosy small restaurant packed with highly efficient staff. Everyone who we have taken there have been again, that must say something. Please keep up the great service x

We went to This place first time and when the meze arrived I couldn’t believe the sizes as they were very generous The biggest surprise was the lamb that they cooked. We ordered a platter which obviously couldn’t finish but I had never tasted lamb this tasty and soft and I have actually been to hundreds of kebab shops I had to let the chef know that the meat was marinated and cooked perfectly and it was like nothing that I tasted before. I would highly recommend this place

Bit of a strange experience. Staff seemed a bit over attentive. Visited there quite late in evening and last minute decision, but lots of tables available. Food was nice. I have eaten there before when it was very pleasant, lively and friendly!

Staff were very welcoming while social distancing. I had a takeaway I asked for small and a large they do a medium and large Includes rice,salad,bread,houmous and lots of chicken and sauces.very (smooth houmous) I asked them to pack the med and large separate no trouble it came in at more than I would normally pay it was just under £25. I had my meal and had 2 days of lunches Would I go back yes Sue

Went for a meal at the shish Woodford Green On a Saturday in lockdown. The ownerServed us and he was very nice and chattyWe got free bread and dip free salad I had the lamb shish it was the best I’ve had It was so nice my wife had the chicken and was lovely as well . I had visited this restaurant and the service, the food and the attitude had been disgusting. The experience its self will make you regret your visit and travel. In addition, the staff lacked service and how to retract with customers. They had been rude and took around 1 hour to process the food order. This place is a abomination. The food was undercooked, the food was tasteless, the food was revolting. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DEVASTATED TO EAT OUT IN A RESTAURANT. NOT GOING HERE AGAIN !!! Watch out for the disgraceful security men.

Thank you for a fantastic spread, the large meze platters, salads, flatbreads and extras was a great success for the lockdown birthday celebrations. The Turkish delight went down well too. Look forward to the next celebration.

We had a great meat platter takeaway a few weeks ago. Plenty of food - the chicken wings were particularly delicious - but it was all very good. Generous portions and the salad has improved massively from the last time we ate here. Looking forward to returning to the restaurant after lockdown.

Ordered a takeaway the other day, had to pay £8 extra just so I could pay on card! The price also changes every time I had ordered the exact same thing!! Food was cold, seemed stale and not enjoyable at all. Used to come here a lot will definitely not be coming again or ordering a takeaway.

Ordered food from there for ifthaar and was looking forward to eating it. When I unpacked the food, it was stone cold and had still ice on top. Even the hummus was still iced. All the food was from the freezer and they had the cheek to not even fully defrost it before giving it to me!! I understand that times are tough but really?? Frozen food?? I couldn't believe it!! Literally my ifthaar was absolutely spoilt!! Will never buy from there again!

I bought a take away for 6 people from that restaurant this evening . It was a very average Turkish food , with a Very expensive price tag. The Kebabs were very salty. Salad had no dressing . All together very disappointing . I would not order any food from that restaurant again

What can you say. The food is lovely, dips are given free with fresh cooked bread. Good choice of wines, then after your meal fresh fruit is given free. Staff are friendly and very nice.

Went New Years Eve but there were no celebrations. Probably because it was normal prices. Friendly staff. Average food. I’ve had a lot better Turkish food locally. However it was cheap at £57.50 a couple with service.

Shared a meal with a friend and we were made to feel very welcomed. Kebab was tasty and chips were great. Meal came with bread, 2 cold starters and this was all finished off with fresh fruit and baklava. Much cosier and tastier than Belgique and the turkish tea was delicious. Thankyou for the hospitality on a freezing afternoon

We walked into this little restaurant without much expectation, but we walked out totally impressed. The food was excellent and the service....THE service was outstanding. I do not remember the last time I felt so welcomed and cared for in a restaurant ( coming after a night in London at a posh restaurant where the service did not compare). The staff here really makes you feel good and welcome. Small gestures and touches that make all the difference. I really enjoyed and I would gladly recommend and return to this restaurant. The staff at Cook around the corner recommended I dined here, and they weren't wrong. The restaurant is small and tables crowded together, but so what, the dining neighbours were as friendly as the service. I chose a starter of deep fried lamb's liver and a mixed kebab main course. When the waiter came to my table the first time it was to bring a free pre-starter of hummus, taramasalata and flatbread. On the second visit he brought salad, yogurt, and a fiery chilli sauce so the table was already looking a little crowded when the dinner plate sized starter arrived. The mound of liver was crispy and hot, great with the sauces.

Lovely little touches added to your order to heighten the experience. Smiling efficient staff serving fresh hearty food in enormous portions of tastyness. Enjoy 👍🏻

I was going to start by saying it’s about time Shish got the review it deserves but it looks as though I might be late to the party with hundreds of others already recognising this as local gem! Shish may not be as glamorous as its Turkish cousins Mezze & Ocakbasi (which are also excellent) as it’s nothing more than a 25/30 seater, with no bar and no entertainment but what it lacks on that front it more than makes up for in service, excellent food and value for money. I’ve been to several Turkish’s in my time, ate more mixed grills than you could shake a stick at and always paid for my Cacik & Hummus starter however, Shish offer this as complementary with enough bread to feed the 5000. It makes you wonder how Sheesh in Chigwell get away with charging the best part of an Ayrton Senna for yoghurt and cucumber? nothing short of daylight robbery if you ask me. Anyway, I digress...couldn’t recommend this place enough, the people running Shish couldn’t do enough for you and the food is top notch!

Had seen the restaurant a few times but never been in. So glad we did, great service, amazing food and comes with bread, dips and all the trimmings. Well worth a visit!

Mediocre halloumi wrap to take away - £10 each?!?! Chips were ‘gratis’ but cardboard. Two stars because service was kindly.

Real nice cosy restaurant, great value, and mid week you can take in your own bottle of wine! So keeps the cost down even more. Service is always friendly and attentive, just don't eat all the bread and dips as they keep bring out more and you won't finish your main course!!!!

Excellent location with good parking at rear and impressive ambiance. The quality of the food is good and a reasonable choice, minor criticism is portions are very large and if you have starter & mains too much is wasted also the price is slightly on the high side for what they offer.

It was my first time here and I was extremely surprised with really great service. The food was really delicious. 5 stars guys.

They advertise “halal” when on many occasion I have noticed the man buy meat of the local Sainsbury’s a few doors down who don’t sell halal
