Shish Mahal in South Lanarkshire

Tried to order a takeaway after having really enjoyed one a few weeks previously which they had accepted card payment for via link Tonight when phoned the person who answered was abrupt and informed in a very obnoxious manner it was cash only before hanging up on me suddenly before I could place order. When I phoned back I explained that was okay and could I continue ordering to which I was hung up on again with no explanation. I tried to phone back the phone was answered and then put down again straight away. Only my second time using this place and the poor customer service tonight has put me off for good. I will be passing this onto friends or others asking regarding this establishment

Got a wee decent cheese pizza discounted through the website & the gentleman gave my wee girl some lolly’s and an extra sauce. Thanks x

Chicken was smelling bad when we ordered 2 chicken biriyanis. Not at all satisfied with the taste of biriyani . not enough spice as well

Bought a lamb bhuna and chicken chaat and both were terribly bland and the chicken was very dry, none of the smokiness that comes with chicken chaat either. Also the poppadoms were missing but spiced onions were delivered. I wouldn’t recommend the spiced onions either. Was very expensive to top it off

Ordered food at 6:30pm waited till 8:30pm phoned them and asked where my food was said they were busy and it was just going out, it’s now 22:05pm and am still waiting 🤬

I came into the restaurant with a good mindset ready to try some good cuisine little did I know I was badly mistaken the food tasted really good but my disabled son later on let out the worst poo ever it shook the floor and erupted out of his bottom

Poor service, the worst communication and offering non existing item the waste your time waiting for another wrong item Never recommended

Excellent food, superb fast service I highly recommend this place guys one of the best places in eastkibride.

This small Indian takeaway is amazing with its low prices to its amazing food, from a £3.00 plain hamburger to a large pizza, this place as only the best to offer up til 11pm 🕚

Pretty bad food, ordered a king shish kebab and I was given a small amount of meat filled to the brim with horrible red salty sauce. Pathetic

They missed part of the delivery order but I contacted them immediately and they rectified the situation within half an hour. So fair play. Messed it up but done their best to redeem it.

The four takeaways we got were very poor. What I love about getting an Indian takeaway is getting a curry that is better than you could make at home. Unfortunately, the curries we got had very poor quality sauces & very little chicken. Notice I did not mention price - even at half the price I would not go here again. The staff also had no care factor.

Had a v large donner kebab. Meat is packed separately from Nan bread ( no pitta for some reason ). Meat was gorgeous - nicely spiced, not greasy and nan bread was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Saved some for the next day ( lunch ) - bread was still so fresh and soft - kebab meat re heated in microwave perfectly. I will be back

It was alright, not the best I've had. ----- Second order: Edited review adding a star to total 4*: We ordered a 16" pizza meal deal from Shish Mahal a few days ago. It was reasonably priced and the spicy chicken and donner pizza we selected was very good, I had a craving and me and my brother really enjoyed it. It was good enough to re-heat the next day. The garlic bread was quite plain, could have done with some more garlic butter and maybe some cheese, but it was all about that pizza. It was excellent. Delivery was good, it was roasting and I'll be back to try again. -----------3rd order Ordered again and the size of the garlic bread was bigger than the last time with more garlic butter. Once again everything was hot and delivered quickly, tasted great. Thanks.

Value, quality and service all superb

Truly awful customer service. Waited more than hour n half phoned said on way. Phoned again n said on way. Phoned again n said we were told 45 mins. They said again it was On it’s way. He called me a liar n said we weren’t told that. Then after hour n half meal turned up. Freezing. The girl said they weren’t that busy. Well I wonder why?!?!?! We will never use them again. When I called back the guy was so rude. Shocking way to run a business.

Amazing , best presentation , attention to food , quality and portion size in the whole of ek , these guys work their fingers to the bone to complete your order, no wonder they are always busy , I'd give more than 5 stars if I could

Always a good deal here. Quality is good. The mix platter is always a great option as it is one of the few combo type meals that doesnt contain doner meat. Never been disappointed with any meal i have purchased here.

I order from here allot. It’s a hit and a miss sometimes. I think it shows at busy times which is a shame because 7/10 time’s it’s lovely and quick to deliver. It hasn’t been bad enough to out me off returning but because the standard has been so high previously it’s very noticeable when they let things slide.

A great choice and the best indian takeaway have ever had. Got the meal deal and so much food, still have leftovers after 2 eating and 1 next day. Great quality and quantity. Pre ordered and delivered exactly on time on a Saturday night

Got delivery last nite of pizza deal 2 forvmy son ..then i foned back to order a c.korma and naan bread for my wife ..a must say the korma was sugary and sweet with no coconut cream ..horribly sweet and uneatable ..the naan bread was nothing like we ever hsd before from here ..it was as flat as a pancake an awash and dripping in oil ..again unedi ble.. as we are regulard here we eill go elsewhere as i feel they have a new chef and food has dropped in standsrd ..poor curry and oily naan

Placed an order in takeaway and they forgot it when I returned - asked why and the guy just moaned that he was so busy etc - lucky them that customers are seen as an inconvenience rather than an asset. Took my refund and left, never to return. Also, it was Baltic inside as even though it’s officially the coldest night in years, they had the door wide open, arctic winds flooding the premises. Extremely rude staff and they also showed poor hygiene, touching money then touching food with no gloves or hand sanitising taking place.

I get my food from House of Shah, but decided to try this new one in ek seeing I stay their must say best I've tried in east kilbride,good food good portions but sorry not a patch on house of Shah in Hamilton sorry.

Whilst this may only be a takeaway restaurant, words can not describe how good this food is, plus also how good the customer service/delivery is. We use it regularly and have never been disappointed and can not recommend it high enough. Thank you...p.s. try the chicken bhuna puri! It's amazing!

I would not use the carry out service again. We ordered a meal deal for three and there was barely enough food to feed two. Especially the starters, 2 poppadoms and 2 pieces of chicken chaat. The main meals had small pieces of chicken. Poor portion size.

We use this takeaway regularly and have never been disappointed. They have such a range of meals available and is nice to try something different every now and then. We have also used them for family parties and ordered the platter of pakoras available - they went down a treat!

Brilliant food and management.Fabulous tasting food great menu great portions fantastic price and best of all the staff are amazing so dont waist any time pick up your phone and get dialling or  pop in and place your order for some of the best Indian food out there. In my opinion the best food in and around this place and management are also superbly fantastic to customers and staff. This is the best Indian food out there in my opinion the best service out there in my opinion and also a great selection of different types of food stuff for all the family from the kids to all adults. Great quality always and a really good service friendly environment and I will  say very tasty food and a very clean establishment. Go get some food you will enjoy it so much it's very tasty...

In my opinion, best Indian take away in East Kilbride! I have used Spice of life, Spice, Wee Ghurka, Taj Mahal, Tikkas, chillies and kebab king so I have tried pretty much every one and this place does it just right! Curry sauce bases in the curries are the perfect consistency, not too runny or thick and not one bit bland but not overpowered with hot spices! There are two members of house staff who are very welcoming and they get the food done reasonably quick when collecting. I don't have it delivered as I live a minute away. If you arnt sure which Indian to go for, give it a try! I highly recommend their pizzas, chicken tikka masala and hoagies!

Made a visit to order pakora, pizza and chips. Easy enough order. Advised it would take 20 mins. Very reasonable. Returned 20 minutes later and advised that they forgot about my order. Again, these things happen. What annoyed me was when i asked how long would it be now they advised in a rude and disrespectful manner 45 minutes because they now has customers who appeared after myself and they would be prioritised. Basically papping me off with well get to you when we are ready. Shocking service, wont be back!

I ordered an munchie box with a garlic and cheese nan bread and asked for delivery. When it arrived the nan bread was cold and there was no cheese. Phoned up to ask if there was something they could do and they guy on the phone refused to do anything, he was rude and kept saying he won’t do anything because that’s how they do their nan bread. Asked for a refund and got told no! Poor customer service. We always use this place for our food but not anymore! Lost a really good customer

We tried this Carry-out Indian. The meals were good apart from not having Lamb ,which is why we went there we like Bhoona Lamb.We settled for Chicken Chasni which was really good. The only downside was they only take cash.

Our family love this takeaway for pizzas and kebabs .you wont get better in ek although they missed our chips the last two orders we had for delivery .but sent them on after ..with pizza deal with can and chips ..check order on delivery to make sure all there ..we are loyal and be back

We had a family meal out and we were extremely impressed with the selection of quality dishes on the menu. The range caters for mild to hit food looking Vers and all dishes are fresh and full of flavour. We will definitely be back and also keep as a take away favourite.

Chips were soggy I took them back in and got a dirty look and the chips got took away and re fried and they didn't taste good at all. My stuffed crust pizza was lacking cheese in the stuffed crust it just tasted like dough and the base was tasteless. Won't be back here.

We use this takeaway all the time .the kebabs and pizzas are the best we have had for s while..and delvery is fast .

I phoned and placed an order for 4 x 16inch pizzas to be collected at a specific time this evening for a birthday party and they were all ready bang on time. Pizzas delicious, service friendly. Would recommend

Great take away. Fantastic food and large varied menu. Prices pretty good, various meal deals. Could be clearer with gluten free options.

Terrible service. Took nearly 2 hours to arrive. After being half an hour late phoned up and the worker said it would be 'a couple of minutes' .... 30 minutes later I phoned up again and was told it was be a couple of minutes again. Shabby. Food average.

Good service, i made a mistake in ordering should have asked for ceylon korma, instead i got the ceylon curry quite hot but enjoyable noworry i will be back, very helpful

Currently my favourite Indian / kebab place in East Kilbride. Really good. The Ceylonese curry is perfect.

They make really good pizza and dips they are also really cheap and the pizza tastes delicious! Definitely recommend;)
