It took some effort to locate,great food.Kalid was a great help.Lovely jubly food.Plenty of parking-will return

Love a good quality shish kebab occasionally. Thought I'd try Taj....what a disappointment. Pitta very so very stale I could taste the mould pores...left over from last month I expect. The 'salad', for which I paid 50p extra, was simply fried onions with a couple of tiny pieces of green pepper. Meat....sliced lamb cut up into pieces...not the juicy chunks I've come to expect. Avoid.

This is the last time I use this restaurant for a carry out. On four separate occasions there has been a problem with a carry out order from them. The final straw came on Sunday when ordering a Thali carry out which comes with rice & nan bread. When it was it was opened at home the nan & rice were missing. Also when informing them of this & having to go back & collect the missing items there was no apology or discount or even a voucher for free pakora next visit as a way of saying sorry for the mix up. Previously there have been chips missing, an no record of an order even though it was repeated back over the phone. A wait for 40 minutes on arriving at the restaurant to pick up a carry out ordered over the phone (Does not include a wait of 15 mins in house before going for the carry out.). There is definately a problem of communication/administration between front of house & the kitchen. Its a shamen as We all enjoy the food but are just fed up with the terrible carry out mishaps.

This place should be closed down , selling reheated food that has came back into kitchen from customers plates ,also at the end of the buffet the left over meat is taken from Bain Marie's and reheated the next day . If you do decide to use it (more fool you) do not leave a tip for waitresses ,as the owner takes these and the waitresses dont see any of it . Surprised hs/Eh have not closed this place down .FACTS

Well I am very very fussy with my Indian, when my brother took us in I though oh no this place is a dump. How wrong was I it was the nicest food I've tasted I 15 years, the chicken was so soft and tender, in fact it does not need a knife. Curry sauces all of them amazing. I will only go here for curry now, and I stay rather far away. It's that worth it. Staff lovely management great and helpful.

What has happened to the carry out service at the Taj. Phoned for an order 5.40pm to be told will take approx 20mins. Left to collect at 5.55. The order still had not come out at 6.20pm when all around others were coming in & getting their orders. When i queried the delay my order came out already packaged ready to go. When it was opened at home 3mins later the food was luke warm. Obviously the order had been made up well before i got & forgotten by the the kitchen staff. There is no co ordination between the front of house staff & the kitchen. The front of house staff take all the orders so they know what order they are received in but do not follow up to see if they are prepared in priority order. The front of house staff should have some method of checking the priority list to ensure customers are dealt within a reasonable timescale.

Shocking! It won't let me give 'no stars'. We had booked a table for 10 last week for the 'curryoke' on saturday 3rd Nov. When we arrive, the place is empty, as in more staff than customers, and they say they don't have our booking. Only after we have started eating do they bother to tell us that there won't be any karaoke that night and still kept insisting that we hadn't booked. Hostile atmosphere and staring staff. Very limited choice of food, and only 1 vegetarian main course option, although it was of good quality (OK, 1 star for that). Very disappointed as we were here 3 months ago and had a great wee night....that's why we booked it again. Needless tp say, we won't go back.

We arrived her tonight just after 5.30pm to a deserted restaurant....after being shown to our table we sat for at least 10 mins before we where approached by any staff. A pleasant young girl came and took our drinks order and asked us if we would like the buffet. So we opted for that as we had the kids with us and it's generally easier and quicker to just get something from the buffet...our drinks took ages to come....my husband decided while he was waiting he would go and get his starter to be told the starters weren't quite ready yet.....over 30 mins later we where still sat there waiting. We had to ask ourselves if the buffet was ready. Meanwhile some of the waitresses where being told off by a manager about charging the wrong price in a takeaway order and she was told to phone the customer back. Very unprofessionial reprimanding your staff in front of customers. The restaurant was also freezing cold. It was so cold my youngest son put his jacket back on....when choosing our main meal the selection wasn't great....and there were no chips on the buffet....one of my son's only likes rice and chips so he ended up with just a plate of rice and we had to talk him into getting some man bread to fill him up. This place used to be a fantastic Indian restaurant but after tonight's visit I'm afraid we would not be returning to this restaurant. Terrible service and lack a decent food. We couldnt believe the total price on our bill...£51....it's the worst £51 we've ever spent!! On our way out there was a guy who had came in to collect his order which he placed over the telephone and none of the staff could find it....and no one was taking responsibility for it.....how embarrassing and a terrible way to run a Restaurant.....I think the front of house staff need alot more training to get their customer service up to scratch....and at least stick some radiators on for your paying customers!!

After several inconsistent meals We thought we would give it another chance due to it being a stones throw away from our home & so ordered a meal for collection tonight. The girl that handled the phone call & processed the payment on collecting was really pleasant & helpful. When collecting the meal However the managers attitude was appalling & I was genuinely shocked. It’s no surprise to me that the place was entirely empty if that is the welcome afforded by the manager. The meal itself was over priced & quality was average at best compared to similar takeaway shops in the area. Thankfully there are a number of other Indian restaurants in EK which we will be using in the future & suffice to say we will NEVER be to the Taj Palace again.

Got there early as one grandson was starving. First in the door thought it was closed but no we were greeted by friendly staff who welcomed us in. The buffet did not start for about another half hour but said they would bring us a mix of starters & by the time we finished that the buffet was ready. A huge platter of various pakora & onion ring was put on our table. Everything was fresh & tasted great.When that was finished another sizzling dish was delivered with lamb marinated chops & chicken wings & drumsticks. The buffet was ready to start once we had completed that course.At least 6 curries to choose from, 3 different nan breads all cooked lovely & fresh. All in all the meal was delicious & we will certainly be back.

Had a wonderful night with my husband! The service was amazing we had more food than we could eat, the staff were so friendly including the manager and the food was lovely and hot and fresh. I will definitely be going back we left tonight very pleased and bursting full 😊

I'm worried this place gets closed soon cause of declining food standards. Ordered a Calzone for the way home one night and it had blue mold all over it. Had to throw it away - I put it in the appropriate bin of course, I didn't just throw the food over the Heathery Knowe fence. The real attraction of this place is the karaoke. Good selection of songs here but my go to is My Way by Frank Sinatra. The crowd applaud me everytime and for a brief 10 mins I feel like I can actual sing. Unfortunatly I can't go to TRNSMT just doing a cover of one song I didn't write so it'll have to stick to the Taj. I just hope the place sticks around cause I've heard word about the police doing checks on the place. Don't buy the food, buy a pint and belt out a song instead.

Phoned to order a home delivery, was told they would be charging double because of the weather. This would perhaps have been understandable 2 days ago, but since the roads are now absolutely fine, it's nothing more than a rip off! Wonder just how much of the "double charge" the drivers actually received? Have been using this establishment on a frequent basis for several years- will be looking for somewhere else now.

Night out with girls from work buffet and five drinks for £23.00 what a waste of money starters dry no chicken in any of the dishes just sauce was told dont know if any more chicken ,one of the girls is vegetarian no vegetable curry so all she got was veg pakora .Rice was cold and hardly any nan bread. I was drinking Gin and Lemonade just tasted like lemonade no ice unless you asked . The service was terrible plates left on table until we left.The karaoke was awful with children singing most of the night .Worst night and meal i have ever had will never be back.

After arriving early evening to a empty restaurant we were asked if we would like pre theater or buffet. We opted for buffet which we were told would come out fresh not that would take over 30mins wait! Once arrived the chicken tikka starter was so dry the onion bhaji minuscule dry and inedible! The chicken korma tasteless naan greasy!! The service was horrendous with only 2 other tables for the whole of the duration the waitress asked us once if we would like a drink took ages to clear plates we had to ask for bill and wait 10mins for her to collect as at this point I was fuming at lack of client care and refused to take to the desk! The only restaurant I have ever ate in and refused to leave a tip!

Went for a meal at the taj place at the weekend and the staff and girls were so nice and very polite, food was excellent and there was many selections of drinks and the DJ for the karaoke was amazing and time flew by!! Bar maid was very polite!!! The place was absolutely jumping!!! Will definently be coming back 👌🏼

Best Indian food, all Family enjoyed it, every dish was piping hot and tasted delicious, good waitress service, staff kept an eye on buffet to make sure nothing ran out, definitely recommend.

Never arrived but claims that the food has been delivered.. what a joke.

Love this place but..... The donner meat tastes disgusting, everything else is great but I honestly do not know whats the script with the donner it's like nothing I've ever tasted and never want to again!

I ordered 2 munchie boxes from here, was here on time and everything good price, all of the food was good apart from the Donner meat, it was cold in the middle and tasted like water. Absolutely horrible. I phoned up to find out that it is bought in frozen, and I am not sure how it is cooked but tasted like it had been microwaved. The person that answered the phone was nice and helpful and offered me a free pizza for the trouble, but a free pizza for the 15 pound wasted doesn't make it up. The donner meat put me and my girlfriend off of the food completely and we binned the rest. What a waste of 15 pound.

Pizza was cold and did not receive my juice either took over an hour for the lazzy delivery driver tp return with it avoid taj Palace its went down hill!

Was told twice our order was out for with the driver for delivery and in fact they had missed our order completely. Our delivery driver told us this. This has happened to us twice. So will be going somewhere else. Shame as we were regular customers and enjoyed their food. But this type of service is not good enough

Taj Palace is one of the best in EK, both eating in and takeaway All my delivery have been early, quality is fantastic and the sheesh kebab.is to die for. Also at night on tnt weekend they do a cracking karaoke which is open till 1am That good I had my 30th in there and was a fantastic night

Ordered take away and it was nearly two hours for delivery if we had been told of wait at first phone call we would not have ordered when queried told very busy and only one driver on should have been told this at first have used this take away before and usually delivery time not bad but from time to time this happens and owners should be aware of this

Without a doubt, out of date chicken that made me throw up in my mouth. I can only hope the next few hours pass by quietly or I'll be praying for death as it comes out of both ends! Poppadoms were burnt and in pieces and my meat from my chicken tikka and shish kebab was dry and hard. Definitely reheated and my salad was dark and soggy. Really disappointed. Waste of money.

Ordered for delivery at 6.30, arrived at 7. Upon arrival driver was confused to which order was mine, also the container of curry had leaked so opened the contents to a lovely korma surprise. A little disappointing

The order for a set meal should've included fried rice - none sent & when called they couldn't give me an indication of when they could deliver it - had to cook own rice ... was offered free rice next time - not a great compromise really! Great food though so this was a real shame!

Curries were absolutely fabulous and can't be faulted, delivery driver was really nice and the delivery time was good...but the cheese that was on the naan and the chips was obviously starting to turn. It tasted awful and smelled really off. So unfortunately a couple of stars off for that because with how bad it's gone off, I feel it should have been noticed before it left the restaurant.

Buffet time....lovely...service good....pleasant. Also use for take-away. Would def recommend. Staff make you feel very welcome.

Ordered a Hogie and was extremely dissapointed with it. Compared to other restaurants in the area, their hogie was similarly priced but in no way the same quality, it was a tiny chapati with some meat and chips thrown at it. Didn't even come with the salad I ordered with it.

Used to be a loyal customer here but last 2 orders have either been substandard or things like Pakora sauce forgotten etc. Will be trying somewhere new next time.

Waited over 1hr 30 mins for my meal to be delivered. Had my expectations been managed better I could have made a different (and quicker) selection for my dinner. Food was good but we had eaten so many snacks while waiting that we hardly touched it. Total waste. Will not order fro here again.

This was my go to....until last week the chicken in my south Indian garlic was absolutely disgusting. I'm not one for reviews but it wasn't until I thought this was a one off and I would give them another try, yet again the chicken was really bad and tasted off the chicken pakora had been reheated about 3 times. Was pretty tough and difficult to eat. This will be the last time we waste our hard earned cash on low standard food.

Amazing!! I always go there for family dinners and I love it there. The takeaway order came 20 mins early and the food was delicious. Would definitely order again :)

I never usually have a problem with the raj palace however I spent just under 30 pounds on a meal when the order came it was missing rice i phoned to let them know they said to me they would get it as soon as possible I then waited a further 45 minutes after waiting an hour previous I am very disappointed as this is my local and I am a regular here let's be honest who eats a curry without rice and when the rice does come who wants to eat rice without a curry

Our food was cold by the time it arrived, we got a chicken breast korma instead of the chicken tikka korma that we ordered and delivery was slow.

Was in a few weeks ago with a group of friends for one of their birthdays and honestly this was one of the best nights out I've had in a long time. The food was absolutely amazing always full and lots of choices. The staff are very friendly and attentive always there and working very hard making sure we had no dirty plates or empty glasses on the table. Then the karaoke was a great laugh not much of a singer but gave it a right good shot and we all just had a great laugh. There weekend deal is amazing getting 5 drinks and your buffet for £23.95 we were all very impressed and we will definitely be back thank you for the great night. Strongly recommend the Taj palace for party nights out even a meal with the family as they let kids join in with the karaoke too!!! Fantastic

Was heading to Taj palace which used to be amazing for the buffet. Went in and stood for about 5 mins to be acknowledged by a young girl from the kitchen, I had doubts and should have left at this point but we never. Told starters we're ready, used to get hot plates you now get cold ones, starters Luke warm, was asked how they were I told them the were Luke warm and the mushrooms were COLD she said I just brought them out and she would check what was wrong. ......still waiting on response!Got told 2 fresh main meals were coming out they got mixed in with dried up food the bald guy looked as if he had slept in his shirt and I noticed him turning up the Bain marie so that's what they are doing. The place was dead used to be heaving. £27 for it and was the worst meal ever.Will never be back and after speaking to a few people they have said the same so I now know why all the advertising was getting done. If u want yuck go here if not go elsewhere be warned

Ordered the food at 19.25, it wasn't delivered until 21.20 (not 20.40 as the app states). Nearly 2 hours for delivery when I live less than 0.5miles from the restaurant. 3 phonecalls chasing delivery each time being told it was "in the car, already away for delivery" - According to the various phonecalls my food was in a car for over an hour yet hadn't arrived. On delivery the driver clearly had no idea what the order was and gave me the wrong food so I had to send him back to his car to get the correct order. All in a terrible level of customer service.

Visited the restaurant last weekend with a group of friends for the Curry Karaoke evening. This comprises of a self service buffet meal, 5 drinks included in the price and a karaoke entertainment when the buffet is over. As there is a lot to cover in my review I'll break it down into sections. Restaurant. The layout of the restaurant when full to capacity as it was on the night i was there doesn't fit with the whole buffet style of dining. Once seated its really difficult to move from the table to get to the buffet that it is located in a long corridor at the top right hand side of the restaurant. Buffet. Most buffets are usually quite poor but this was really good, As i had read some reviews about the food quality before i visited the restaurant, i must admit i was pleasantly surprised at the choice and quality of the food.The large lumps of fresh chicken tikka along with the tandoori lamb chops were ( and i hate to say it) spectacularly good !Drinks. As part of this buffet deal we were given 5 vouchers to buy 5 soft or alcoholic drinks during the course of the meal. The lager as you would expect was ok but or group had some concerns about the spirits. Our group were drinking various different spirits with mixers. We agreed unanimously that the spirit must have been watered down as they were really weak. Staff. The young girls who were present on the night to clear tables were very polite, professional and attentive. The woman who worked behind the bar was on the opposite end of scale. She looked sullen, fed up, bored and didnt want to engage with the customers. I happened to say that she was doing a great job dealing with the volumes of people waiting to get served, For a fleeting moment i got a brief smile and a sign of some sort of humanity in her. That lasted all of 10 seconds when she reverted back to her sullen, fed up a bored look. Karaoke: What can i say. Lots of drunk people singing badly, Not my type of entertainment.In summary, would i recommend this restaurant for a visit? Whilst i enjoyed the food, the layout of the restaurant doesn't work. If you couple the layout of the place and add in the full to capacity element where its almost impossible to move from your chair, i wouldn't recommend this place for a night out. I may go back and get carry out food but wont be using the restaurant again any time soon.

A group of nine of us descended unannounced on an empty restaurant for their buffet. We were greeted warmly by the owner and seated with nibbles and drinks quite quickly. A very friendly and efficient waitress told us there would be a delay until the buffet was prepared which was very understandable and after about twenty minutes salad and starters were ready. They were plentiful, varied and warm. Mains and Sweets were then ready and again there was a good selection of tasty food followed by tea or coffee. We had a lovely evening waited on by our attentive and charming waitress.Reasonable prices for drinks and buffet considering the quantity and quality of food in warm and comfortable surroundings..
