Shires Fish shop in Walsall

Sorry, when you ask for kebab and chips with salad, that's what I want. Not, kebab meat in separate container, a bag of chips and no salad and be charged an extra £1. When I ask for salad, I was told 'it was late, so we haven't got any salad'. It was 8.30! To add further disappointment, the food was cold on my return home. It's not often I have chippy, but I definitely will not spend my hard-earned money at 'Spires' again Cutting costs and reducing your standards will see you out of business mate.

I’ve used this chip shop for 20 years plus, it’s gone down hill rapid. Always new staff that don’t know what there doing, tonight I ordered a kebab in pitta bread, I had to stop the gentleman serving me and explain how to do it, I also realised when I got home, he had put much kebab inside, I shall never use this place again, such a shame, it was top notch before these new owners.

£10.50 for Fish and Chips! Nothing special about the quality, and the service was poor because it took the assistant 3 attempts to wrap the chips! We shall NOT be using this shop again! 🥺

Ordered 2 meals and spent over £25. Order never arrived despite just eat app saying it had been delivered. After repeatedly phoning the chip shop, they eventually answered. The owner told me there was nothing he could do and just eat delivery is nothing to do with him. It may be the fault of just eat, but Shires still have £25 of my money in their till. Any decent business would have re-donenthe order and asked me to pick it up. Shocking customer service! Ive been using this chip shop for two years, but I swear, I will never give them another penny. Disgusting disregard for their customers.

Just to make you aware I ordered a steak and kidney pie, sausage and chips. I have since had severe food poising being sick since 1am yesterday.

Good selection of food available that you'd expect. The place is clean, tidy and staff are always polite. Food is good, served hot and decent potions.

Ordered our meals at 5.30 on just eat few minutes later it said 6.15 delivery. However at 20-7 rang and van trouble! 5-7 I’ll collect it no no no he’s around the corner maybe one in Wolverhampton then rang at 7.23 and cancelled the owner replies you’ve not had it yet lol avoid like covid ordered a Chinese instead 15 mins later it arrived. Collect orders people only!

got fish n chips here just the once [ so far ] chips excellent and the batter on the fish was nice and crispy the meat was white with no dark pieces other chip shops should take note of this. the only slight complaint was it is cash only. However there is a cash point 50 metres away at the supermarket.

I went in for lunch and I asked for a ‘bag of chips’ and I was charged £2.10 for an extremely small portion. I was absolutely shocked and appalled when I saw the portion size compared to a visit a few months ago when they were much better.

Called in tonight and saw sad looking tiny dried out fish in the warming section. So ordered a fresh large cod to be fried to order. Went outside to wait and called back in to collect our order. Got home and found a tiny dried out fish. Very minor with what’s going on in the world. But won’t be calling back. Feeling conned !

We ordered 2 donor kebabs from the shires recently. They came with a microscopic amount of salad and the smallest portion of meat I have ever seen. £4.80 each. Robbers. Avoid.
