Shiphay Chippy in Torbay

I ordered the fish and chips, the chips was warm, not cooked right, the fish I had was cod and that wasn’t cooked, parts off the batter still had the batter mixture still there, meaning not cooked right, and the fish was smelling off, in the end I just put it in the bin and never been back

Thought I would give the local chippy a go , shan't be going again . Not very welcoming/friendly greeting. The chips seemed re cooked and just warm, fish and sausages not worth the money. I'll stick to Crusoes at the willows

I would have given 5 stars but unfortunately there were problems with the delivery - it’s not the shop’s fault but maybe stop using Uber Eats if they let you down? The food when it eventually arrived nearly 2 hours late was absolutely delicious as the owner cooked a fresh portion which was really good if her. The fish was fresh and flakey with crispy batter, the chips yummy! I would definitely go here again for food but I would collect and not rely on delivery.

Really disappointing. Ordered a take away to be delivered which simply didn’t arrive. When we called the restaurant the advice we were given was “well, if it doesn’t arrive, just go in line and ask for a refund”! Utter shambles. We had ordered for friends and children who entered up upset and eating toast for dinner. Everything about this order was a disaster.

Newish to the area and first time I’ve tried the shiphay chippy,ordered on line via their app,was easy to use and everything well priced,it’s the best fish and chip takeaway we have ever had,fish was amazing and a nice crispy batter as was the chips,not your usual soggy chips and fish,staff very friendly,can’t recommend this chippy enough,thanks gang will defiantly be back soon,
