Went for lunch with a friend Have been here before for tea and cake Sat at a table in the sun decided to move when one with a sun shade became free as I got up my brand new trousers caught on 2 prices of the plastic wicker chair that had come losses and were sticking out. I hadn't noticed this when sitting down as I couldn't pull the chair out fully due to lack of space. My trousers were damaged. I informed the waiter who just said sorry, and he would remove the chair. This wasn't done until as we left, I told another member of staff. If I had had bare legs, I would have had a nasty cut. We ordered jacket potato with chilie and salad. Which was quite nice . However my friends coffee was cold. Informed the same male member of staff who said the machine was playing up he took the cup and returned the same half drunk coffee to the table it had obviously just been put in the microwave. Sadly, I now have a damaged pair of trousers that I will have to pay to be mended, and we were not even given a full cup Of fresh coffee. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

Tasty breakfasts here this morning. Maybe slightly greasy. Very cheap and includes tea or coffee. A nice place to people watch or take in the views of the stunning harbour.

On a boiling hot Summers day, what a lovely way to cool down, under the shelter with a cup of tea. This has got to be the cheapest cuppa anywhere in the country. Lovely friendly staff abd stunning views of the harbour.

Went here for breakfast and a sunny but cool January morning. Service was quick and the breakfast was massive, it certainly filled me up and was very tasty. Oddly it came with Bread & Butter, I would have preferred toast and probably should have asked for my bread to be toasted.

Disappointed that I was not warned on the menu that their sausages had a strong herby taste, something I dislike, and I would have ordered something different had I have known. Most places would have listed this on their menu. Two All Day Breakfasts, extra chips and two bottles of water at £16+, very average quality and the portions were really quite small for the money.

Where can you go and have a mug of tea for £1.20 with beautiful views of a harbour , with really friendly service. Well the answer is here. The cafe is set in the beautiful arches of Ramsgate. No wonder this place is always busy !

I ordered an all day breakfast and coffee and the meal was well prepared, covered the plate and was well cooked. An excellent place to eat and a choice of indoor and outdoor seating.

We have visited this cafe regularly when in Ramsgate but it does get very busy as it’s so good. The breakfasts are to die for as is the rest of the vast menu. The staff work so hard and the prices are very good , food well,presented on the plate .

I used this wonderful place for a few drinks, and sandwiches for lunch. Great food, sandwiches were really packed with food! Very tasty, and great price, too! Getting a mug of tea and sitting outside, watching the marina is bliss!

Could not fault breakfast sausages and bacon full of taste no grease or fat on plate nice and hot just what the doctor ordered for the start of the day and a nice view over the harbour staff were polite and friendly 5*****

Popped in for breakfast before going on a walk. Decided not to go for the full vegan breakfast as I was aiming for a good walk and instead chose the the Vegan Breakfast Baguette. This turned out to be a whole baguette, wider than a standard dining plate, with 4 hash browns, a shed load of mushrooms and at least 2 vegan sausages in it. For £7, including a tea, this was more than value for money. The cafe was very busy but the service was friendly, and efficient. Will be going there next time I'm in Ramsagte.

Excellent value breakfast under the West Cliffs. It's a pleasant walk out here and the staff seemed to enjoy their work which makes for a good atmosphere.

Staff were welcoming and friendly. Service was super fast which was surprising as they were very busy. Cooked breakfast was wonderful. Very good value.

Nearly closing time but they did us a fried breakfast with all the trimmings, really good quality food and the egg was the best I have ever tasted, been there a few times now and love the place, the staff are fantastic too.

Stopped here for cake and tea and coffee. Also had some wine too. Very pleasant view on the harbour and for people watching. Lovely flower tubs outside the entrance.

This cafe is great! Amazing breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. They have proper cakes as well, like my Nan used to cook. Really reasonable with lovely food cooked well. Dog friendly, and great service. Overlooks the harbour, what could be better! Loads of other cafes along the strip, but trust me this is the best and the best value. Hidden gem.

We have just bought a boat in the marina and had planned to be moored elsewhere but we just love Ramsgate and Ship Shape is one of those reasons. Really busy for breakfast so a good indication and the mussels or king prawn salad in the evenings are fabulous.

Popped in for an early (7.30am) breakfast overlooking the marina. Friendly staff and quick service. Appreciated the outdoor seating area in these restricted times. Would definitely recommend to anyone heading for Ramsgate.

Space is an issue in this unusual setting for a cafe overlooking the marina. We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. And weren’t the only ones. It was all a bit crazy. The two of us were seated at the far end of the room at a large repurposed table overlooked by shelves of mainly old nautical artefacts and frankly bits of rubbish, and cheek by jowl with the deep freeze. As I said all a bit crazy. Getting our order taken was a bit of a challenge, but we got there eventually. The breakfasts were cooked to order, and duly delivered by very pleasant serving ladies. The food was very tasty, the mugs of coffee were frankly a bit so so. But it was not expensive. Due to the low arched roof and density of tables it was probably a bit more cosy than it should have been. But hey ho, we sanitised after leaving. As you do.

Waited ages for two sandwiches while others around us were served their hot food. The girl serving us did apologise but an apology from the manager wpuld of beem nice. I think if we had not reminded them we would of still beem waiting. We had drunk our hot drinks before the samdwiches arrived. Sandwiches ok but don't think we would return due to waiting times and basically being forgotten!

Been to this cafe so many time on our visit. Friendly, great food, right by the harbour. Fab for breakfasts and lunches, a real hidden gem. If you want a great breakfast head there! Dogs welcome in outside seating area.

Called in for breakfast over the bank holiday. Very busy with a long queue but the staff got through it pretty quickly. Went for the all day breakfast which was great. Had an orange juice and a coffee too. Really hit the spot with great service. Well worth a visit

Found this little gem right on the harbour, we both had a full breakfast with tea and coffee. Plenty of food great portions. They also had smoked haddock on the breakfast menu. Some seating out side over looking the boats. Will definitely be going back a gain.

Excellent cafe for a cheap breakfast or lunch. Lovely harbour views included in the price! The great thing about Ship Shape is it’s not pretentious. You get a decent fry up and cuppa in cafe surroundings.

Spent 3 days on holiday in a budget brand hotel oppposite avoid it if you can. The ship shape certainly ticks all the boxes and went down well with all the family. The breakfasts were amazing great value for money and staff very friendly.The skipper of the crew can certainly cook handles the pressure well and keeps everything ship shape.A must visit if ever in Ramsgate :)

Arrived at 3.45pm. Left standing at the counter. When asked for a menu was told " over there ". Then when trying to order the special of the day was told " not available ". Had to wait 25 minutes for our food . My sons burger was awful ! The bun so stale it was crumbling apart. Tartar sauce was very helpfully placed under the food ( in sachets) . No sauces or cutlery brought out. Customer service was non existent! Awful place . Would not recommend to anyone, rather warn anyone off!!! Clealy times can't be that hard if you treat customers this bad .

Very good food, value for money: good in size and tasty ham salad. They didn’t have jacket potatoes unfortunately. The best bread pudding, made on premises, we’ve ever had.

Had good expectations but the food and especially sausages were very tasteless and forgettable. Eggs were cheap and didn't even taste fried. Customers spoilt atmosphere by effing and blinding.

Had a breakfast baguette which was great, good bacon and sausage in a nice crispy baguette. It was even healthy because there was some fresh tomato in it!

We have been coming for years and love it .... especially my Mother . Friendly service Good valueGood foodOur only gripe recently is last few times we have asked for crispy bacon .... and it’s been all fatty on the rind .The best taste is crispy rind !!We didn’t complain and I have simply swapped to sausage sandwiches which are fine ! Don’t like to moan when they are busy and work hard !So take home message.... if People ask for crispy can you please ensure it’s well done and RIND is Crispy !! This café is wonderfulky placed and offers a varied and competirive menu. There is a lot of seating under a barrel roof design and more seats outside at the front. I opted for an all day breakfast which arrived covering the plate and was well-cooked. The accompanying by coffee was also tasty and is cake to six pounds. A great place to eat.

This place is great. The breakfasts are huge, cheap and delicious. Service is quick. And the location right down by the sea is great too. It is easy to see why the place is popular with locals. Highly recommended!

We have not been to Ship shape for a long time, so we went for breakfast with our family. 4 adults 2 children and a dog.Very busy inside,a few tables outside.Then we managed to get an inside table. Picked our breakfasts, ordered at the counter ,pot of tea handed over to us.Not too long a wait, breakfast arrived, tasted lovely and hit the right spot.A great little place, trading from an old harbour arch. Great character,boat bits dotted around. Food and service great ,well worth a visit,pay to park outside or car parks near by.

We stayed at the Travelodge and breakfast is £9! Ship Shape is 2 minutes walk away. Massive, tasty, freshly cooked, quick service, great quality bacon and sausages. Full English breakfast - £4.50 inc mug of Tea! Brilliant. They also do smoked haddock and poached eggs. Absolutely lovely, fantastic flavour, fresh and properly smoked fish. Brilliant. Staff friendly and efficient. I asked for a jkt potato without butter -no problem salad fresh. My husband changed his mind from sausage to a bacon roll. Again no problem.

Quirky little cafe with a view of the harbour, really nice food. It's all very well being dog friendly , but when these dogs are yapping loudly and the the man behind the counter pets them and then butters the toast without washing his hands, this is unhygienic and shouldn't be allowed.

You won't go hungry here and the prices are competitive too. I ordered an all-day breakfast and it was well cooked, tasty and filled the plate. It came with a frothy, tasty coffee too. Most impressed ...again.

Came across this little cafe walking around the marina, whilst staying at the Travelodge across the road. A perfect little place for breakfast. We were there about 9 am and they were already busy, so we had a short wait to be served, as they were a staff member down, but really, 2 very tasty cooked breakfasts for a total of £9, including tea and bread, what's not to like? And the surroundings are quirky, with memorabilia all around.

I'm quite difficult to please with food but it was no trouble for them to accommodate my needs, I had a vegetarian breakfast without the Linda McCartney sausage so had an extra egg. A lovely cup of black coffee and I'm good till dinner now my children had an everyday breakfast and a mega breakfast.

Set in one of the old fishermen's sheds is this nice cafe. Good value for breakfasts, and meals, nice sized portions. Good service, clean and tidy. Do try the bread pudding, and rock buns homemade and large. Lovely views over ramsgate marina. Friendly staff. Teas and coffees nice and hot. Very friendly, always someone to hat to. Very dissapointed with my fried breakfast. My mushrooms, egg and black pudding we’re almost raw! Burnt toast! And half a cup of watery latte. My partners hash brown was still frozen in the middle! Shocking..

Oh my, how can they do such a fabulous breakfast for £4.90???!!! It was their Meag Breakfast and it beat three out of four of us! Great quality and includes tea or coffee - a brilliant find in unique surroundings.

We stayed at the nearby Travelodge so went here after seeing the good reviews on Tripadvisor. We ordered our food and received our drinks, there was quite a wait for food as the lady was temporarily on her own and the queue was building. Once her assistant returned, she soon caught up and we used the time to look at the interesting decor. The breakfasts we had were superb. Great value and generous portions. Had I not read the reviews I wouldn't have gone in there, so thank you TripAdvisor!

Genuine unique character 'transport cafe plus' type establishment with inside & outside seating. Popular with locals for breakfasts, of just coffee & cakes. Parking right opposite beside the inner basin or 50yds away in the hidden multi storey.

I called in today for lunch and the service was good and with a smile. My all day breakfast was huge and covered the plate and it came with fresh tomatoes, bread and a lovely coffee. All for six pounds. Lovely jubbly.

Great little seafront cafe - built into the rock. Homemade cake will make you want to go home and start baking!! Breakfast in the morning is great - such a friendly place. Well done - these little traditional cafes are far and few between.

Visited for the second time as it’s one on my friends firm favourites. Such a cool, qwerky building that’s well looked after and well decorated, you can really feel the history in the building. Staff nice, friendly & attentive and love the uniform with crew on the back makes you really feel at sea. Arghhhhhh!

This cafe has regular opening to es 7am-5pm each day ...easy to remember. It's located right on the harbour and offers a wide array of meals and excellent coffees. I opted for the mega, all-day full English breakfast with coffee and toast and the bill was £5.80. The meal was well prepared and well cooked. Recommended.

A lovely little cafe tucked away next to the harbour. The staff are very friendly and happy in their work? they are obviously friends rather than colleagues which reflects in the pleasant atmosphere. The food is reasonably priced and the menu is available all day so if you want a jacket potato for breakfast rather than a fry up you can have what you like, perfect, I like menus like this. The cakes are delicious and homemade and if you take your furry friends with you they often get treated to a dog sausage

As always a brilliant Sunday breakfast as usual. One idea would be to cater for celiac and have gluten free so that my daughter can enjoy a normal breakfast with us

I’ve been here twice now. The location right down by the marina is brilliant and I’ve never had a problem parking. Most people ate outside as weather was good on both occasions. The first time I visited I flagged down a local police car and asked them the best place for breakfast. So that has to be a good recommendation. Our breakfasts arrived at the table in under two minutes and was fresh and extremely reasonably priced. I actually said ‘is that it?’ when told the price

Ship-Shape is located along Ramsgate Harbour, the cafe is in a little arches and quite a unique and nice looking place to eat. The staff are very friendly, the food isn’t the best. Will probably be back!

What lovely people and such a great place for breakfast. Under one of the archesit is decorated with model sailing boats and all sorts of sailing paraphernalia. They are so efficient and work as a great team. There is outside seating and umbrellas and a great view of the lovely harbour. The home made cakes look luscious but we didn't try them for breakfast.
