Shinwari Darbar in Birmingham

Had some guests so fone ordered . The order was above 100 pounds . When went to collect it they goes that they thought some body pranked called them so they didnt prepare the order. After they said they gona make it now amd deliver it to the address so came home without food waited waited and finally food arrive. Big order and they didnt even bother to send some hand wipes and the food lamb karahi was like just some biled meat . Chicken karahi was ok. And kebabs were swiming in oil. Same with kabuli pilao full of oil.

Everything was nice, fresh and juicy with that homemade afghani touch, from the welcoming interior to the large quantities of absolutely gorgeous food, I love this place, would reccomend.

Rice too sweet. No spice at all. Chicken was soggy 😔

The food is delicious and the service is amazing. I’m sick of eating at places where the emphasis is on style yet the food is terrible. Here the food is exceptional and the service is beyond measure. We’ve eaten in as a family as well as taken food home and we’ve always been impressed.

Unfortunately Food was not good taste less food. Dirty toilets and Had many hygienic issues. Bad experience not recommend.

Very stingy on the rice, give u an illusion of the platter to be full but it ain't. There was no meat in the rice as it was before. The lamb tika mentioned in the menue as part of the platter was not present at all and replaced it with chicken which was tasteless. Very small portion in comparison to the price. Over priced. The lamb chops were seasoned nicely n was great, chicken wings were also on point but again very stingy on the portion size. I would recommend for window shopping but not an actual dining.

I recently ordered from Shinwari Darbar and ordered several dishes, including the Chaplin Kebab, Afghani Tikka, Kabuli Pulao, and Charsi Lamb Karahi. While some of the dishes were enjoyable, I must caution others to avoid the Charsi Lamb Karahi at all costs. Unfortunately, it was not cooked properly, and there was an off smell indicating that the quality of the lamb was not up to standard. There are plenty of other places where you can spend your time and money, which will likely provide a far better dining experience. I expressed my concerns to the restaurant, but they merely acknowledged my feedback without taking any further action. Overall, I left disappointed and would suggest considering other options before visiting Shinwari Darbar.

A hidden gem in Sparkhill, authentic Afghani food. Ordered a large mix grill, a lamb karahi, and a afghani version of kibda (liver wrapped in fat) Anas Malik who served us was very polite and respectful as I was with my family. Chef Nasar Jan’s culinary skills were amazing too. The restaurant came as a recommendation, and they didn’t disappoint. I would go back again for sure and share my experience with friends and more family.

We been to this place about 5 times we feel the service and food quality is going down and will not be going there again Upon arrival we gave order straight to the chief and ask for a good karahi plus other dishes chief said don’t worry i make a really karahi but it was burnt, we reported it but they did not try to put things right so will not be having our custom anymore and will not recommend it to others

They accepted my order online on just eat and decided to cancel it after 30 mins. Ridiculous behavior. If u cant fulfil the online order , just switch off the online platforms.

Ordered mixed grilled (large) last night, make an complaint immediately when we get home , only 4 lamb chop , 4 wings , one lamb tikka and one chicken tikka , there is no 2 shish kebab . They said will get me next time rather than ask me go back to the restaurant , and the rice same little as ( medium mixed grill ) , but you pay extra £9 more . Wouldn’t go back again.

Food is good but rubbish customer service the old man is so rouod I asked for more sueses ther was 3 maels but gave 2 sueses I don't understand we paid exustion for mail the you only get 2 sueses get gripp and smile

This is new Afghani/peshawari food restaurant. Today I tried the famous chappal kebab, and it was good. Would not say the most delicious but good. Whenever I go to restaurants , the first thing I check is if the place stinks of cooking food and I am afraid this is no exception. It's typical of any peshawari chappal kebab restaurant I have visited.. once you go in, you come out smelling full of food stink,, which really puts me off. However it's not as bad as other restaurants I have visited, but the smell is still there. The atmosphere is good, traditional sitting on the raised floor is available, with family partitioned section as well. The service is good with he owner present and welcoming all their guests on their food tables with his unique style and smile, it's a nice touch.

I want to come to this restaurant one day when I come to London, the food looks great, I think the taste is also great.
